The girl who helped me I wish I remembered her name but she was amazing. She put an African grey on the stand so I could see how well it is for my own baby. You can tell everyone there knows what they are talking about and really want to help you with what ever your birds needs are. I will be going there for all my little babies needs. When my bird was getting groomed, she came out with a bald spot on her head that was not there before. It was clear that feathers had been pulled out. We confronted the staff and they just simply denied that they had anything to do with it.

I bought my pineapple green cheek conure from them back in January of 2020 and I love him so much. They raise these babies with a lot of love and he was really well with being handled right when I got him. The workers here are all super helpful and kind and I go here about twice a month to pick up a few toys! If you want a happy, healthy parrot, they have plenty waiting for new homes!!

I was helped by Kat..how fitting.. she really new her birds.. I was pleasantly surprised that she wanted to see the cage I bought.. concerned about the width of the bars.. 5 stars to Kat and the rest of the crew., for there care and concern for their birds.

The Golden Cockatoo is the most amazing and comprehensive bird boutique ever! I have been coming to this store for over 10 years, and have purchased three beautiful birds from them, all of which I still own and are happy and healthy. The inventory of bird cages, toys, perches, food, stands, BIRDS, etc., is truly extensive! They also offer complete grooming services! The staff is extremely bird knowledgeable, and are always more than happy to assist, such amazing customer service. Ian, the store owner, is always on the front and center. Debbie is always so helpful and sweet. I purchased a black headed caique years ago because of her attentiveness. Just recently, Samantha was extremely amazing, and took her time to help me work with a pair of birds I recently adopted. Really, the entire staff are like bird whisperers! You can also see birds out when you visit the store, and interact with them. I am looking forward to my next beautiful bird from Golden Cockatoo!

Every time i bring my well socialized bird here she comes out traumatized and bald. he always has messed up feathers, bald spots, and overall not good condition. this is completely unacceptable for a simple mail trim. please avoid!

Excellent store for birds and supplies. A lady named Kat who works there is so knowledgeable and helpful. She spent a ton of time with me over the past few days teaching me about the different birds (to buy my 11 year old son) and which cage to buy our new baby bird when he comes home. My husband and I had a great experience with Debbie here yesterday. I called and spoke with Debbie on the phone about purchasing a conure. She was super friendly and told me to ask for her when we arrived. So we did just that. When we got there and met with her, She lead us over to 2 of the conures. Debbie gave us each a towel and some treats to get to know the birds better. We immediately found the one we both bonded with. We were very surprised how friendly and social able these birds were. You can tell that they raise and handle them with tons of care and love. Debbie helped us to find the right cage for our bird with no pressure of purchase (even though we did choose to purchase with them). We got all the toys, food, treats and even a backpack carrier for our little bird. Considering a good quality cage will be expensive (but it will last a lifetime), the toys,treats and food were priced extremely fair! I was actually surprised low the prices were. I just couldnt have asked for a better experience! Debbies friendliness and knowledge for birds really shined. We will not go anywhere else for our bird needs and look forward to seeing her again in the future.

I live in Miami and was up in DFB visiting another attraction and was looking for aviaries in the area. Came up on this place and boy am I glad I did! They have such a variety of different toys, perches and birds all at extremely competitive prices. Everything is so clean and well maintained. The best part is you can really tell that the people who own and work at this store really care about the animals they are raising, selling and boarding. I would recommend this store to anyone, regardless of where they live. Although I live over an hour away, I will definitely be returning. It’s a pleasure to visit businesses as great as this one.

When purchasing birds this is a great spot. Just do some research prior. They do not offer refunds back on deposits. Also be mindful of purchasing a DNA test, I had to make two trips because they lost the first one. Then took longer than the provided time frame to find out the sex of our bird. Overall a decent experience.

We just brought our first Parrot home from the Golden Cockatoo and could not be happier with their service. The employees here are the most knowledgeable and caring weve found. All of them deserve a shout out but in particular both the owner and Debbie who walked us through everything we need to know about caring for our Eckie. Well be back soon.

My family and I have had the most pleasant experience with the Golden Cockatoo. Spend some time in store and you will quickly realize it is far from a pet store. All of the staff are incredibly helpful, informative, and patient. Weve visited maybe 5 or 6 times before finally deciding to purchase a sun conure. Every visit we have been treated so well. I value good service and people. While we wait for our baby to be weaned and ready to bring home, we visit once a week to interact and bond. The staff has very accommodating with giving us this time. Luckily I only live 30 minutes away, but Id drive 2 hours to get the service I do at the Golden Cockatoo. All of the birds are very much socialized and happy, which doesnt happen by accident. I find great comfort in knowing that our future family member is coming from a place where so much consideration is given to what the bird needs. They have everything you need for birds there for purchase, but most importantly the knowledge and love for birds that translates into the most excellent of customer service. I highly recommend anyone needing anything bird to visit the Golden Cockatoo. Im certain your expectations will be exceeded as mine were by this greatly run business.

We love coming to the Golden Cockatoo! The staff is Amazing! They care a great deal about their birds and about helping their customers. They are all so knowledgeable and dedicated to their birds. Debbie, in particular, was so attentive to our needs as new bird owners. She assisted us with our new baby conure, spoke to us about the care and needs of our conure, showed us around the store, introduced us to other breeds of birds, and educated us on cages, stands and toys. One word: WOW! This aviary goes above and beyond with the care and raising of their birds. First aviary I’ve seen that openly makes sure all of their birds get time outside every day. The way they hand train these birds is stunning; the birds are just all so sweet and well behaved! Before you buy a bird for a little bit less somewhere else, make sure to compare the differences in training and attention afforded to each bird. This isn’t to say their prices are competitive either. I’ve never seen such a variety of toys and for such great prices!

I bought my princess (she is a queen of bavaria conure) in 2015 from Golden Cockatoo. I then bought my King (also a queen) in 2018 from them.It is now 2020, and I have been going to Golden Cockatoo for grooming, toys, and food since I got my little sunshines! I recently bought more cages, so they can enjoy the outdoors. Everyone there is very helpful and friendly! I probably bother Debbie too much with all my questions haha, but she is always there for my babies! Especially since my King has been a little upset lately, so debbie showed me this product that had chamomile in it and has helped him calm down a bit :)So thankful for everyone there !

The Golden Cockatoo is phenomenal pet store where employees are extremely knowledgeable, caring and approachable. They are not at all pushy and have the birds and your best interest at heart when helping you select the perfect family pet. Let me also say that Debbie is amazing!! She truly loves birds and did a great job educating us about our new baby Parrot, who weve named Sonny. She was careful to make sure we had everything we needed to bring him home and make sure hes happy and healthy. She also sent us daily videos of Sonny when we boarded him at the store while on vacation. It was clear she and all the staff took incredible care of our new baby.

We have been going to Golden Cockatoo for all our bird essentials for roughly 8 years now. We make the long drive from Miami because it is so incredibly worth it. Recently, we boarded our two Golden Conures for 2 whole weeks. We were nervous as we have never boarded them for this long before, and it was only the second time they have ever been boarded. Through out the 2 weeks, both Deborah and Katie kept me updated with pictures and videos of my two babies. They really went above and beyond. It was clear that they saw to it that my birds got a lot of attention, too! Deborah helped encourage friendly customers to interact with my birds (safely through the cage) which brought us so much joy and peace of mind, and Katie would make sure to put her hands in the cage herself to keep them socialized and entertained, and help them break through any shyness. We appreciated that special attention so much. Honestly, this was one thousand times more than I would have hoped for, and we already knew how amazing this store is. It was a wonderful experience for both my birds and us. I am so grateful for Golden Cockatoo and their incredible staff. I would be lost without them!

I have a parrot that is over 30 years of age. I am very cautious when it comes to him. I ONLY go to Golden Cockatoo and have been for years. They are gentle and caring when it comes to my parrot. They do a wonderful job grooming and boarding him when needed.

Heather was the salesperson that helped us. She’s very knowledgeable and friendly. She provided us with everything We needed as first time cockatiel owners. Prior to coming here, we had a bad experience at another establishment, and my experience here was the total opposite. We love our new feathered baby addition to our family. Also, due to the current situation, employees wore masks, they made sure the store was not crowded, they were very professional and courteous, which made our visit even more comfortable. My first time visiting this store. Went today to get my cockatiel groomed. The employees here are very knowledgeable and had great customer service. They were able to answer some questions I had and able to give us some tips on taking care of our bird. It started to rain and one lady was so nice that she walked my wife and daughter to the car with her large umbrella. Will definitely be going back for anything I need.

I recently (after weeks of research) decided I want to add a bird(s) to my family! I wanted to be sure I got a bird from a reputable store or breeder and with a knowledgeable staff to help me make my decision. I visited probably a dozen different places with mixed feelings and conditions before I came here. I was blown away by this place! Massive selection of beautiful and happy birds, extremely knowledgeable/kind family staff and the conditions were excellent. I was interested in a cockatiel and they let me hold one and even walk around the store with him! The little fella was so tamed and enjoyed accompanying me as we walked around! The birds are hand raised by them so they were all so friendly and eager to be held and talked too. They have their personal birds out as well and they talk to you, let you see what your new feather friend can become and in one case, show alittle attitude (still cute!) If you’re wanting a bird or any supplies for your bird, this is the go to place!

First I called for directions, and was given good directions, when I got there sales person Beth Scott was very friendly, and took the time to show me available cockatiels she showed me two and let me sit on a bench and interact with both birds she provided a towel and millet I took my time and fell in love with one. She really went out of her way in helping me make my choice. Then Heather was so helpful in giving me all the information I needed, she helped me choose the perfect cage, treats and food! I cannot say enough about this store. If you are the parent of a bird or are thinking of becoming one in the South Florida area, then this store is for you. Its almost more than a store - its like the home base of a community. They have everything you could need (and things you never thought you would need or want), and can get just about anything you could want otherwise at very reasonable prices as well. Their birds are not only very healthy and well taken care of, theyre also very well socialized. I have not yet boarded my bird with them, however I would not hesitate because of the care I know they give and the cost is hard to beat (especially for the value).Now in that regard, the store is great in terms of what youll find and prices and care, but ultimately is nothing out of the ordinary for top-tier bird stores. What really sets this store apart from the competition is the staff. Not only are they all very knowledgeable and know how to handle all parrots (as well as health, nutrition, behavior, housing, etc. requirements and knowledge), but you can tell that they all both care and love not only their own birds and those in store, but your birds as well. Not only do they know me, my girlfriend, and our bird by name, but they have gone out of their way numerous times outside of the store and outside of their work schedules to help us out and answer questions we have had. I have been coming to this store ever since I purchased my macaw Charlie. I am very impressed with the store and I was helped from day one. And even when I declined assistance, other store staff would approach me and ask if I needed help. Ive known this store for a very long time and only heard good things come from of it (and some negative which I will address shortly). I dont only purchase bird toys from the store, I can here for my pet rats as well! They love the little bird toys and I hear the little bell on one of their toys ring all night long. So the toys are not only satisfying just my bird. So I did give it 4 stars out of 5 for a reason, I do not come here for my birds grooming, but I have friends that do come here with some of their birds. At one point both of my friends were shocked to find that ALL of the feathers were cut off. This may have been a miscommunication between customer and groomer, but the groomer should know that when all of the birds feathers are trimmed, when the bird attempts to fly, they will smack straight down on the floor. I do hope they had called the store and addressed this problem themselves (rather than me posting it in a review), but please if you get your bird groomed there, address exactly what you want with the groomer that when a problem does occur it can be addressed properly. And I do hope the groomer learns why this is wrong as well. But besides that, I am pretty impressed with the store as a whole.

Golden Cockatoo was a great place to purchase my bird. After visiting four Bird places, I stopped at Golden feeling defeated because the places i had gone to were not what I expected. I pulled up and asked if I could visit some birds and possibly purchase one today. Debbie said of course. After getting my hands sprayed to protect the people and birds inside the store she introduced me to a Green Cheek. He wasnt very pleased with me. But then she introduced me to Kylo, a Blue Indian Ringneck!! I fell in love and in about four weeks Kylo will be at home with me.... Debbie and the other two employees were very knowledgable and happy to help. Debbie especially gave me information about GC birds and answered my questions. Thank you Golden Cockatoo and a special thanks to Debbie for introducing me to Kylo!!!

It is a nice bird shop with boarding. I support the bird shops. I wish the boarding was more taylored to each bird like, giving their favorite food and toys as well. It is place worth visiting for every bird owner.
