Reckingers Heating and Cooling is absolutely fantastic. I would like to thank the wonderful staff first of all. Thank you to Jana, Denise, and Steve the owner for being so understanding and compassionate. We needed to replace a hot water tank and furnace due to flooding from water back up. This company has exceeded our expectations by far. Reckingers is a 100 percent class act company! Steve went out of his way to make sure we received everything at a phenomenal price. Reckingers has restored my confidence in a great company that looks out for there customers. This company is professional, punctual, and went beyond expectations to accommodate our needs. Also want to thank the installation crew that were very polite, knowledgeable, and efficient.
Air conditioner went out on holiday weekend. Contacted several companies online. Reckinger responded quickly and fixed my problem. Steve was great and did a great job! Service was awesome.
Had two service calls within one week. Issue was with a boiler. The first time they got the unit back in the service but did not take the extra time to bleed out the air. Had to call him back to do that the second time obviously had to pay the service call fee for both service calls. My experience they are not boiler experts. They were punctual.
Had them out one time and will never use another company again. They have installed air quality products in my home. They were the only ones who ever discussed these options with me. I had no idea that any of this was even available until Reckingers informed me of these products. I feel better. I sleep better. Reckingers may not be the cheapest but they are the best. My furnace stopped working in the night and they were there at 9am on a Saturday to fix it. The return call was within 10 minutes of leaving a message. The repair was done quickly, the service technician professional, and the price fair.
The customer service is alright but the prices raise eyebrows. Parts are marked up extremely high and receipts don’t show a breakdown of what you’re paying for, they also say 24 hours but that is false. You can find better service elsewhere. Avoid if you can.

This company has given me hands down the best service Ive ever had as far as when they installed the system they were very thorough with explaining how to function it along with making sure everything was properly hooked up your to code I would suggest this company to everyone the hospitality and generosity of this company have been great to me
The agent came and was polite, however I was charged $185 for someone to come and look, and point the problem. I told them what the problem is before they looked at it. I agreed to pay the $185 and the agent gave me a quote of $900 to replace a control gas valve. According to him, the control valve is around $600 or $700 dollars. I bought the same control valve for $120 brand new.
They get the job done and they do it well!! My center is so warm.

A shop that treats customers honestly: I had an AC fan motor die and purchased a replacement part elsewhere. When it came time to swap the fan from the old motor to the new, I got the old fan stuck on the old motor.I came in to Reckinger to inquire about getting a replacement fan (they sell parts!). The employees there were all very welcoming and helpful to me.Originally they quoted me for a replacement fan which they were going to pick up from a parts warehouse. I left the fan and motor with them to match for replacement. 30 min later I get a call saying they were able to salvage the old fan. I was told my all-steel fan was superior to what I would get as a replacement. They barely charged me anything for the service.I feel good about the service here because they acted in my own best interest, even though they could have made more money selling me a replacement. I am glad honest family run businesses still exist and are around. I know who ai will be calling when I am in need for service or a new system.
They will tell people I will order the part and call you back . Three times I called ... all three times I will call you back! they never call back. The first time they come out so nice and then they get that service call payment you wont hear from them again. You must have seen my review thought you could call my daughter tell her the board will be in a week from 12/17/18. WRONG! Do not call my daughter! This is my home that needed the service .My daughter paid for the service call as a Christmas gift . She asked you for a price on the board and you dont know how much? three weeks! No thanks! I will get someone else to take care of heating and cooling needs. I may be 61 but im not stupid ! you got all your getting out of me!
Scheduled an appointment, took the day off work, no-show. Called and was told they would find my technician and call me back...no call back..very disappointed since they were recommended in my NextDoor group

Paid $1000 for A/C repairs. After given an estimate (by the manager) they said I needed an addition $200 in forgotten parts. (oops?). Found workman chatting on the phone instead of working. They charge per hour. And to top it off, the problem still existed after the supposed repairs.Later, found out that a simple return line was clogged.I suggest you keep looking.

I was having trouble with my furnace not heating. After an initial inspection, an HVAC technician advised me that I would need a full furnace replacement. I contacted Reckinger for a second opinion on what would otherwise be a very costly repair. Brandon, with the support of his team, was able to provide a simpler solution than a total replacement at a fraction of the cost. Brandon from Reckinger ended up saving me +$2,000! This is the level of service you can expect from Reckinger.

I had a gas line installed for my Gas dryer. At first, we had our differences at price-point, but overall was able to negoitate. The installer was extremely friendly and did a great job. I would recomened anyone in the area to consider these guys as Steve, The owner, is easy to work with. Thanks again
I hope to help avoid the pains and frustrations, poor service to others that I recently went thro. The City inspection required us to have the new, working water heater inspected for flue in Summer of 2018. First service repairman spent 30 seconds in the house saying everything is OK & we can have the follow up w/ the City Inspector, & the City still needed water heater flue looked at. Several phone calls & several hundred dollars later, Reckinger did it.Once a service company calls the City on your behalf, they are the only authorized one to help get the inspection certificate & Reckinger service and charges were bad. At the end of the service call, the serviceman threatened my tenants young wife w/ a little baby till I could authorize the phone payment.Do yourself a favor, there are better choices

I called on a Monday and setup an appointment for a free estimate Tuesday at 1030, when no one showed up by 1050 I called to confirm and was told the first guy had something wrong with his schedule but was coming right over. I waited another 30 minutes (they are 10 minutes from me) and called again and was told the guy had car trouble but someone was on his way. About 20 minutes later someone shows up, measures the project for 10 minutes, then tries to charge me 85 dollars. I informed him i was told it was a free estimate and he said that is for new equipment only (which I was not told about). I refused to pay and he stormed out. The communication of this company is terrible. I doubt Ill even get a quote them.Update based on owner response:I would like to point out that the company neither apologized for their lack of communication or their tardiness, yet try to justify their behavior. It speaks to their customer service policy.
I received outstanding service from Reckingers today! If you have heating and, in my case, cooling problems call Reckingers first.
The man showed up an hour late, he stayed 20 minutes, he changed the air filter no one asked him to change replaced two fuses for the air conditioner that run about $14 and he charged me $270. Im still waiting to hear from the manager.
Average. Okay advice, expensive, lacks communications between their HQ office, service personnel and the customer. Their truck left an oil stain on my driveway. Thanks.
Never fixed the problem. Charged for Freon then refused to come out to find out the real problem
The worst customer service that I have experienced.They schedule appointments and dont call or show up, then you call to find out why a brand new unit is messed up and they say they dont have the right trained people to fix it.Im sorry but if you install something your company should be able to fix it.I would not recomend them to anyone that would like to stay cool during the summer.

THE WORST SERVICE EVER!!! I AM A PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS WORKING IN THE DEARBORN COMMUNITY FOR OVER 28 YEARS. I CALLED RECKINGER TO FIX MY HEAT. THEY CAME OUT AND CHARGE ME A SERVICE CALL FEE. THEY DISCONNECTED MY UNIT ON THE ROOF AND SAID THEY HAD TO WAIT FOR A WIRING MANUAL TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THAT WAS THREE WEEKS AGO. NO CALL NO SHOW AFTER THAT. I CALLED A LOCAL COMPANY AND THEY CAME AND FIXED THE PROBLEM THE SAME DAY. THAT WAS AFTER I HAD TO GET SPACE HEATERS TO KEEP MY PLACE WARM WAITING FOR RECKINGER. IF I COULD GIVE THEM A NEGATIVE STAR I WOULD. I DO NOT RECOMMEND RECKINGER TO ANYONE.

My air conditioning unit crashed last year. I decided to get it replaced. The salesman from Reckinger was very prompt and knowledgeable. I verified everything that he told me and decided to buy a whole new system.The install date was not short notice, and I was told that they would be there shortly after 8am, which was perfect because while I had somebody there to supervise the work, I had to be there when they got started. Reckinger is located less than 1 mile from my house.8:10: Reckinger calls and says that they are loading up their van and are about to leave...should be to me shortly.9:10: We call Reckinger to find out where theyre at, and are told that they just left and will be to us shortly.9:30: We call Reckinger again and are again told that they just left. When we complained that it has already been an hour and 20 minutes since they first said they were on their way, they told us that they may have had to go get parts. 1. They had a week to plan for this, and theyre just now getting the parts? 2. The management doesnt keep track of this stuff? Because you would think that if they were out of the right parts, somebody would have been told. 3. Where did they get these parts from? After all, she kept saying that they had just left.9:50: Called Reckinger to cancel. We were tired of waiting. I was now late for work. The woman tells us that they were late because they had to get gas. Since when does it take an hour and 40 minutes to get gas, and what type of van are you driving that requires a fill-up to go less than a mile.9:55: Because it was my family who would be supervising the installation while I was at work, Reckinger had their number on file. We spoke with a family member who told us that they had called him and told him they were still coming, despite us cancelling.We immediately called and reconfirmed the cancellation, to which the woman who answered rudely said okay and hung up.Very bad business. I hear they do good work, but a week to plan for the first job of the day, a confirmed time of just after 8am, and multiple confirmations that they had just left shouldnt equal an hour and 40 minutes of tardiness when the customer is not 5 minutes away. Stay away if you value your time.ADDITIONAL NOTE (added 5 hours later): My family member stayed behind after I cancelled and let me know that about 40 minutes later, Reckingers guys showed up and wanted to still do the installation. I was told that during the whole discussion, they never once apologized for being late and instead kept insisting that they should be allowed to do the work because it was hot and I would suffer without it. After we were called multiple times to convince us to still go with them, somebody finally apologized for the inconvenience. I already have another companys estimate and will be going with them. I will post them here if they work out well.
Horrible Company ! My 64 yr old father has had them out the past couple weeks in hopes they would fix his central air unit . Instead they took advantage of him charging him 600$ the first time they came out, then a couple days later had to come back cuz the problem still resisted they charged him 300$ that time and still no fix, then the last time they charged him 1000$ only to tell him they couldnt fix the unit but they cashed the check he wrote them 😒 1900$ hes given these people in a week and a half time span and hes still without air !
