I bought my Tiguan from this dealwr in 2013,and always return here for oil change.Over the years the quality of service declined.Before I had complimentary car wash.Now they just put the car on parking lot without even pointing me where it was.It took me about 5 min in the 89°heat to find it.Kind of disappointed.

I LOVE my Volkswagen however since I bought my 2020 I had 4 cars registered in my name that are not mine. Each time I go in to have it corrected they assured me it was a glitch and that it will be taken care of. They did not follow up with me and it keeps happening. This last time I was told they let the person go what more can they do. Compensate me for my time, miles driven to get to the dealership...I’m disappointed in the lack of follow up and resolving the problem. They are opening me and my family up to liability issues and using my Sensitive personal information to register other vehicles.

Customer service was fine initially until they owed me money for my trade in vehicle. They claimed they would send the refund by check in the mail. Fast forward to two weeks and still no check received. When confronted, they tried to cover it up by saying that a check was sent a week prior and that no tracking number was available- I expected to see the money by the end of the following week. Nothing. Called once again for them to say they will be cutting the check and sending it today (although they told me two weeks prior that it was en route). Overall, Very shady dealership that hides behind a façade of friendliness and trustworthiness.

I would give a zero star if it was an option. I purchased a used 2017 VW on 11-21-2020 and paid cash. LaFontaine told me to bring my vehicle back the following week for dent in hood and wheel trim issues and to get my new license plate. The salesperson called me the next week to pick up license plate. I came back to VW LaFontaine and they didn’t have my license plate & weren’t ready to repair hood dent and wheel trim issues. I called LaFontaine on 12-9-2020 and they still didn’t have my license plate. I was upset because they took my $144.00 for new license plate but I never received it. Salesperson stated to bring VW back to LaFontaine and they would give me a lender until my car was repaired and license plate is placed on vehicle. I dropped my car off to LaFontaine on 12-10-2020 for the above mentioned items. I received a call on 12-28-2020 that my VW keys were found in a desk of a salesperson who no longer works for LaFontaine. “Are these your keys?”. I stated yes they are and that LaFontaine has had my car from the 10th. He didn’t know where my car was located and the dealership was unaware that I had one of their cars as a loner. What a mess! After many and I mean many calls, they located my VW. No one had a clue about the repairs! Where has my car been for the last month! No one had any answers. LaFontaine VW in Dearborn has no processes, procedures, follow through and worse of all no integrity. Also as a caveat I purchased this vehicle with 22249 miles on it. I drove it from 11/21/2020 to 12/9/2020 and I put about 100 miles on the car. La Fontaine had my vehicle from 12-10-2020 to 1-8-2021. When I picked up my vehicle I intentionally looked at the odometer to see if it had been driven and it now reads with an additional 500 -600 miles on it. LaFontaine VW or whoever had my car, put about 500 miles on the vehicle. Disgusting & dishonest people, do not buy a car here.

If I could give this dealership o stars, I would. The worst car buying experience I have ever had. Bought a Certified pre owned cabrio. Put on lot dirty, with bald front tires, a check engine light on, non working doorlocks and full of sand. The top cover was missing from when the photos were taken for on line. Chris Landfair, my sales person told me It didnt have one until I showed him the online pictures of it and magically it appeared. I knew I was going to have to replace 2 bald front tires, since I know that vw is happy to certify cars with that feature. The car had a rattle coming from the left front when I accelerated and hit a bump and it stalled when warm. When I took the car back on monday, they couldnt duplicate my rattle, or my non working auxilary port, but they did put 2 more tires on it for free and perform an alignment. I drove away, there was still a rattle. I took the car to suburban volkswagon in troy, as it is closer to my house, and they discovered that my front control arm was not attached, so my rattle, that i had asked about 6 months before, that lafontaines couldnt find, was a broken control arm, to me a safety issue.I guess to Lafontaines, putting a certified vehicle up for sale, with bald tires, dashboard lights, and a broken control arm is okay. I asked several times to see the check list that was used to certify the car, but at first, No one can find it, (chris landfair), or according to the manager I spoke with, Dennis Wagnitz, we dont do that here. Funny, after 20 years in the car business, selling both new and pre owned cars, when ever I sold one, we had the customer sign off on the sheet to show that we did stand behind our cars. I guess lafontaine volkswagon doesnt have enough confidence in there vehicles to show customer what they do to put them on the lot.I have now been without my car as the keyless entry system has stopped working, I had to get a new battery and my car still stalls. I went to this dealership because of the specific car, not the dealership. Ever since my first service experience, (and funny, the service manager that worked with me is no longer at the dealership.)Is it because he was certifying cars and not doing the work and got caught? Just be careful when you go there because you wont ever get a straight answer or any help. They seem more like the buy the car and go away kind of place. I have told everyone i know about my experience and also how horrible my car was at delivery. Buyers Beware. There is no after the sale service!

Had an issue with my Atlas and brought in for service. The staff was very friendly and promptly let me know that they had identified the problem and an estimated time to fix it. On picking up the vehicle some adjustments needed to be made and the service staff again was very courteous and prompt in helping resolve the issue. Always had great service here and would recommend to anyone!

My friend brought her car here to have it looked at. First of all, they had no parking, anywhere, for vehicles being dropped of at their shop. Because of this she parked in front of the service doors and dropped her keys in the service box. As she was getting into our car some guy from the dealership part came out and told her she couldn’t leave her car there. He just watched her drop her keys in the box. So did like 4 other employees. Why didn’t they say something before she finished filling out the paperwork and dropped the keys in the box? The man just kept saying she couldn’t leave her car there, like a broken record, so I had to firmly tell him that we get it. She can’t leave her car there. Get the keys out if the box and we will move it. Instead of telling us what we already know, let’s fix the problem. He went inside and couldn’t find the keys to open the box, so we waited another half hour for a reasonable person to say it was fine and we could go. It was a pretty terrible experience, and she didn’t end up taking their quote because of the horrible service.

Truly a disappointing experience. I called and spoke with an associate named Shakita (sp?) about a used car I was interested in. She was helpful and courteous, gave me the information I needed. It was near closing so I said Id be in touch. She called two or three times over the next few days and left voicemails. I called back to schedule a test drive with my brother as my schedule was pretty booked. She confirmed the car was still available and told me it would be pulled around to the front, sanitized and ready for a test drive for the appointment. My brother drove from Ann Arbor to Dearborn to run this errand for me (He is a saint). The associates at the desk told him the vehicle was not on the lot--an employee had checked the vehicle out for personal use. Then, they told him they had no idea when it would be back and he could keep checking back if he wanted. Now, I understand that sometimes employees have friends or family that may be interested in a deal. But common courtesy and respect for customers time would dictate you call and inform before the appointment OR at least apologize for the misunderstanding. I called and left a voicemail with Shakita, asking for a call back to please explain what happened. I received no call back...and its been over 24 hours. Its completely rude and shows a total lack of concern for customer service. Id give negative stars if I could. Honestly, I could understand someone was interested. But transparency, communication, and at least calling me back would have been the minimum a dealership could do.

As a first time buyer Jason and Denice was very very helpful to me Jason showed me a car and let me test drive it while Denice was working hard to get me into a car but time ran out thats when I noticed that my car had a flat tire and the lights went out and they couldnt get to the service center to put air in my tire the vehicle I was looking at they let me drive it home for the night I returned the next day and Denise had all the paperwork ready for me as we were sitting down going over the paperwork Denise and Jason scene so that was a little nervous Denise was willing to stop

Worst dealership ever. Shady sales and financing tactics. They bundle in services and warranty’s you didn’t ask for, if you don’t calculate the actual payment yourself using a car finance calculator you’ll lose out. My monthly rate was $65 more until I realized that the numbers I was being shown didn’t add up to the cost of the carAlso, they make money off of financing people, not cars themselves, so they will up the finance charge if possible. I was told one apr only to walk in the finance office to be told a hire one because “my original apr was for a diff. Vehicle” which I found out through my bank was untrue.They’re also very rude. They told me I had no choice but to trade my car in (another lie) even after I told them I no longer had the title, I bought the car from a friend recently we misplaced it. They said not a problem at all. Fast forward a month later they refused to give me my license plate because “I owed them $500 for my trade otherwise they’d take the car back. My uncles attorney advised me that this is untrue. Once the car is off the lot it’s yours. But they didn’t believe I had an attorney. One finance manager told me I was too poor to have an attorney and that they had the best attorneys money can buy. Finally the owner came out and remedied the problem. Only after we argued in the show room for 30 minutes.Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Do yourself a bigger favor and get financing before you shop for a car. You’ll save a LOT of money

Update:I did have a 5 star until I called back and asked how much it would cost to have my missing key replaced in my key fob and I was told I’d be called. Never received a call.. and I called for about a month. I think I even emailed too. Returned my lease anyway. Won’t be back at this VW If I have to lease a VW again.I walked in the LaFontaine Volkswagen with my husband unsure of what vehicles to look at and where to begin. We were greeted by Jason Law who was friendly and quick to help assess our wants and needs! Jason was able to help narrow down which vehicles would be best for our family and stay within our budget. We were able to stay within our budget and still get the car we wanted!!! Not to mention, Jason went out of his way to make sure that we received the best customer service that we could have ever received. Not once did we feel pressured into thinking we HAD to buy or lease a vehicle (which usually happens at other dealerships).

Probably the worse car dealership I have ever been to. I visited there at a very quiet time and there was literally no where to park. How are you supposed to sell to a customer when there is nowhere for a customer to park?Upon entering it was like pulling teeth to get anyone to talk to me let alone help. When I did get to talk to someone I asked for a specific vehicle and was told look at website.Walked out shaking my head and realizing why there was so much inventory as they could not sell a glass of water to a dying man.Hopeless is a compliment for this place.

Truly Bad experience. I was having the conversation with one of the Assistant Manager from few weeks on Email and He agreed to sell and discuss further for what we have discussed over the emails.He asked me to stop-by at the dealership to close the deal or further discuss. When I stopped by at his dealership the other assistant manager took up the case and comes with random numbers and When I showed him the emails which I discussed with the other Assistant Manager. He replies that he cannot offer the price. Which is rude, They made me drive all the way 100 miles to and fro for just giving the falsifying information.

I recently had some health concerns, well cancer. I was told I might now be around for much longer and sold my old car. After I spent months in the Hospital and Hospice, I am walking proof that you should never listen to the first opinion from anyone. Family and friends were concerned after hearing the great news I would be coming home, on what my financial situation and getting my life back together. Thankfully, I am now getting back on my feet. Bought a Tiguan 2 months ago, first there was an alignment issue and two days ago it broke down. It has a transmission issue from a prior collision. If I could give them negative stars I would. Spent 1500 so far in repairs in two months! The mechanic suspects the entire transmission will need to be replaced at some point in the near future. Biggest mistake doing business with them.I also wanted to add that the prior collision was not reported to car fax. After having it fixed at another location I found out that they glued the front bumper back on and used DRY WALL screws to hold it in place. Most expensive lemon I have ever bought. Also beware of the “certified pre owned” stickers they have on cars. They told me mine wasn’t certified even though when I bought it it had a giant sticker that said otherwise

Purchase went well, everyone was very nice, but when I made a deal to buy a car they promised to detail it, inspect it, and change the oil. They only detailed it, but even that was a low quality cleaning. I am still satisfied with my purchase, but it would have been nice if they followed through with the rest of the promises.

Ive been a loyal Lafontaine customer for the last 5 years. I would rave about how great they were compared to the other dealerships Ive dealt with. The sales and maintenance department use to be great. The last 2 times I took my leased Jetta in they gave my the run around and tried to charge me for things that were covered under my warranty. Mind you the problems never got fixed. Then the service department manager wants to know if I would give them a good review. Lmao! Absolutely NOT. Theyve just lost a loyal customer. It was a disappointed experience for the repair services. Would rate it with 1 out of 5 overall. My car’s engine light was on and off for unknown reason. To get it fixed, I went to the place and tried to get it fixed. The diagnose result gave me a list to fix which took around 2k. It’s not even two weeks, the engine light was on again. There’s no other way around but go back and check. I was asked 1k more to get it fixed again! The reason for that is just unable to diagnose the problem at the first time. So what’s the meaning of fix my car at the first time? All of this look unprofessional and time&money-consuming. Would not recommend it.

Great dealership. Went the extra mile to make sure everything was satisfactory. Traded in a vehicle for a slighty used one owner car. All transactions and financing went smooth and was able the drive off the lot later that same day. They did an outstanding detail job prior to my return which left the vehicle in near showroom condition.

Their tire installation is personalized and first rate. It may take some time to get in contact, but it is well worth it because they are very open to working with you. I had a set of tires installed and I had no issues. Their installation price is the lowest I have ever seen!

I went in to test drive a Certified Pre-Owned VW Jetta SportWagen TDI. As part of the TDI recall program, all CPO cars are supposed to have wipers, batteries, brakes, and tires replaced since they sat with VW for a year awaiting repairs. All was done except for the tires, which were visibly dry-rotted, as well as flat-spotted. The car vibrated strongly at highway speed. I wasnt too worried, as it was just a matter of new tires...The car was over-priced, so I had a number in mind that Id pay. Well, they werent budging, which is fine. Thats their prerogative. But, the salesman Patrick, who seemed nice enough, said they wouldnt even do anything about the tires. I guess making a buck is more important than their customers safety? Ill be buying elsewhere.

Don’t expect anything customer service wise and don’t leave valuables in your car if you’re having it worked on because they’ll be gone when you come back. Accidentally left some money and an important prescription in the glove box (I know, I know but sometimes you forget)..wasn’t there when I got my car back.

I had an overall terrible experience at this dealership. I felt as if the salesman Patrick C. tried to intimidate me into getting a car. I explained to him on the phone and in person I was not trying to purchase a car today, I wanted to see what they had to offer and to just speak with someone and then weigh out my options. He showed me a few cars and after I told him I didn’t like the options.. He told me I was picky and being difficult.
