I love this store. Everyone is so nice and everyone that works there does art of some kind. They carry a lot of specialty art supplies like sumi ink and hand made paper. The variety of sketch book and paper for drawing and painting is great. I found ink drawing paper! You can ask the staff to help you find anything they will let you know if they carry it or where you can find it. I look forward to my trips to this store.

Always buy your art supplies from an ART STORE (and not those crafty chains). Staff is super knowledgeable and products are high quality. Investing is good quality art supplies is important for growing and professional artists. They also have a nice supply of gift items and they are super supportive of community art groups.

Ive ordered from here for years and just realized there is a physical store. I could have stayed all day. They have all of your art supply needs. The store was very clean and well organized. The employees were very helpful and happy. I was looking for markers and one employee explained that I can test them out but any marker that I touch I need to put in a bin for them to sanitize. I really appreciate this step that they are taking to ensure cleanliness.
Midtown location is cool but Dearborn Blick is wack
I love the quantity of materials. But for being a huge graffiti art supplier the downfall is they follow you around and consistently ask you questions. I have anxiety I dont want you in my bubble let alone stalking me.

The staff is awesome and the selection of products available is enormous. My only complaint is that some of the prices are very high for airbrush jars. Otherwise everything was fantastic and the rest of what we purchased was priced at about what I would expect.

Me and my friend were forced to wait outside while it was snowing and cold. We went into the building and my friends mask broke so we stepped outside to fix said mask. While walking out a young lady told us they were at capacity and that we needed to wait outside. This was after we had already been in the building, we just needed to step out to fix my friends mask. We werent even allowed to wait in the small room between the two entrances because it was technically inside despite there being a door and glass between us and the store. Also why is the max capacity only 10 people with 3 of those people being workers. I am happy to comply with wearing a mask, social distancing, and max capacity rules but forcing us to wait outside in the cold is not okay especially when there is a small area semi-inside we could have stood. Will not be returning again.

Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Its a smaller store so not as much selection on the floor (reason for only 4 stars) but they are happy to order anything for you. They are taking appointments for shopping which was rather pleasant.

I dont naturally possess artistic qualities but I wish I did. I went looking for a gift for someone else. The staff are very knowledgeable and can answer any question you have. Go there, look around, test them, and be inspired. I was in awe learning of a life foreign to me. If you want it, they probably have it or can order it.

To start, this is my favorite place to buy my art supplies, I do illustration, and other mediums, and this is hands down the best place to buy the supplies one needs - Ive never had a problem with stock, things are always organized, its wonderful. However... Ive rarely ever had good customer service here. Some of the general staff are polite and ask if I need any help, which I dont normally do, but on the supervisory level... I witness them complain about people, they laze around a lot and the associates seem to do the work while they fiddle behind the counter, and all these things have irked me. I have over ten years of retail experience and worked for years on the management level, but the thing that made me finally write about it, was when I was in on Sunday a couple days ago... I came in about a half hour before close, and I hate being that person, but I just needed to pick up a couple items in a rush, so I knew I would be quick, and I kept asking my husband what the time is so I wouldnt be a bother and to check out before store closing. I was asked a couple times if I needed any help, which was fine, but what irked me was... Several minutes before the store closed still, I was looking through some of the sketchbooks, and the man who was working walked past me, turned off the lights directly above me, and then walked past me again. Not a single time did anyone inform anyone in the store that it would be closing soon, they just started turning off the lights. It was eight minutes before closing time. That is just, unacceptable. If any of my employees ever did that, it would be a serious discussion, and I have had plenty of times in the past where Ive been extremely irritated, or had rude customers, who dismissed polite warnings about the store closing, or already being closed, who lingered and made me get home late. I know the annoyances. But you cant shut things down, or treat people that way, when the store is still in open hours. It was immature, unprofessional behavior by the employee; they should have first verbally informed people the store would be closing soon, and to come up with their purchases within the next couple of minutes - not communicating, and turning the lights off when the store is still open is absolutely, unacceptable.
Knowledgable and helpful staff. My daughter (12) wanted to purchase some art supplies for a project she has been working on and when she had questions they answered her in the same manner I would expect to be addressed. She appreciated not being talked down to just because she is a child. They seem to understand that artists of varying abilities coming in all ages and they dont scoff at your ignorance if you have what might be simple beginner questions.

Good service with very nice staff. Unfortunately they didnt have the sketchbook I was looking for, but this is a nice store with plenty of selections to choose from. One of the staff members had a genuinely nice conversation about which sketchbook is the best with me, and that was definitely helpful.

I felt like a kid in a candy store!! Im no artist, but I do a lot of paper crafting and woodworking. The selection and variety of paper was a little overwhelming at first, but once I started to put my excitement aside, I was very happy with what I purchased, and the price that I purchased it for. They also had everything imaginable for framing and more paints than I even knew existed. This was an absolutely wonderful store to visit!!

I have been going to Blicks since 1986 and recently took my nephew there to his delight. The service is the best and always knowledgeable and friendly. Great for the young, student, and professional. Wide variety of goods and supplies. If they dont have it, they will find it for you.

Great store thats always well stocked with professional art supplies of all sorts. Prices are fair, not as cheap as places like Michaels, but they sell pro grade art supplies. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
