It felt cozy inside and the people were very sweet.

I just like to go in here to dream about all the plants I would buy if I had hella money, but Ill be upfront and admit that Ive never actually purchased a plant from here, so I cant attest to the heartiness or longevity of their stock.However! The staff dont hover but are usually available when you need them, and facilities are adequate for browsing while maintaining social distancing.

I purchased (at a different greenhouse) four different colors of the same species of begonia. All the pink and most of the lavender died (one is still fighting). Their deaths left holes in the flowerbed that needed to be filled.Instead of taking a long drive I went to the English Gardens at Ford/Outer Drive, and they had some healthy begonias in a lovely orange sherbet and deep, deep red, which will probably look even better than the pastels they are replacing. While I was there I hunted down a few other plants with the help of friendly employee, and the only thing we couldnt find were the pear tomatoes!This English Gardens location is always my fallback for plants, and the only reason I dont buy everything there is the high price point.

So of all the garden centers in our region this one makes my top 10 for the worst to go to. Case in point, bought some pregrown corn. This is what you get (see pics). They put 3 seeds in a tablespoon of dirt and sell it to for $3.59. The root ball is so insane you may as well pinch off two seedlings and plant one the entire root mass. Your losing money. Blocks or Schwartz will sell you the same corn for 1.50. All of their prices are inflated. Will not be back.

This is such a great place to find just about anything youre looking for. People are very nice, flowers are well-tended and vibrant. Down side is they are a bit pricey.

Great place for gardening and holiday stuff! This is an excellent nursery. And theyre already busting out the Christmas stuff, lol!

They dont have everything and I wish there was more space for houseplants at this location, but its a good, solid Michigan company and I support them as much as I can.

I had a wonderful English Gardens experience. I purchased a tree. They are beautiful, and they are 50% off! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful as well. Such a pleasant place!

Our Christmas angel didnt work when we pulled it out of storage. Wife and kids didnt want a new top for the tree. We call the angel Lola.Leo was very helpful to advise that Lola can be repaired. I really appreciated how he remembered Lola when I brought her name this morning. He took extra care with Lola when he made the repairs to our family heirloom.

I love English Gardens. Its small enough but has everything you need! I visit a couple times a year! I like their wall calendar with pretty floral pictures and coupons.

Great place to find everything you need for your garden, lawn, holiday decorations. Staff is very knowledgeable. I have to admit that Ive been to Sterling Heights, Royal Oak, West Bloomfield and Dearborn has the most knowledgeable staff. And the friendliest. I wasnt impressed with the other staff at the other locations. I live in Bloomfield and will always make the drive to the Dearborn location.

The most amazing flower shop in town. The flowers last at least 10 days, always fresh! The staff is so polite and helpful. Prices are even better.

A very nice employee was sanitizing carts, it wasnt too crowded, everyone had masks on & social distanced. Plus their staff is very helpful. Fine experience. It wad calming to walk among the plants and flowers.

Went in and they [the floral team] put together a bouquet and 2 buttonnaires for my wedding in a hour! Sadly wont be needing them again. But will recommend them.

Today I stopped by after work since I needed to get mulch. I asked the woman behind the counter if it was considered to be on sale. I have a coupon for 20% off I forgot to bring. I know I cant use the coupon on sale items. She said the mulch wasnt on sale. I asked her if I could use the 20% off coupon I had at home just to make sure. She said yes. I said great. I would save about $4, so I decided to go home and get the coupon. I came back a half hour later. The woman I spoke to earlier wasnt there. The new woman said the mulch was indeed on sale and I couldnt use the coupon. I was a little irritated since I went home to get it. The manager came over and gave me the 20% off on only one bag and she really didnt want to do that. She was irritated at me for still asking for the discount. So, I saved a 96 cents. Had I known, I wouldnt have bothered going all the way home for the coupon. I know this seems trivial. But its the principle. They should train their people better so that customers arent told the wrong thing.

Really nice selection and great classes for gardening 101. I ordered hydrangeas from one of the specialists in person and never heard back from him. Ive left messages and went back to the store a few times - still no response. Luckily I found everything I need at Eastern Market and for half the price! I realize this is probably an oversight but just for awareness and FYI.

At the Dearborn store, my wife and I were looking at table-top Christmas trees and found several we liked. While we did not buy any today, we just wanted to see what some of the options were for us. Staff was very courteous and helpful: gently asking if we needed any help... shared us with us her name... allowed us to look around some more... gently asked a second time if we needed any help... then accepted our no thanks. We will likely return when we are ready to buy.

My dad loves plants but hates spending money. But what happens when he comes here? He spends lots of money! Thats how nice it is. They have a large and wide selection of plants, flowers, decorative items, patio sets, and gifts (the even have Vera Bradley merchandise). Its a plant lovers dream!

Not only do they have a beautiful selection of plants. But it is hard to find a nursery that also carries beautiful and unusual pots. The staff is also very nice that works there. They have an indoor facility that makes fresh cut bouquets. Just gorgeous. A perfect place to go for that special someones gift.

By no means this is a reflection on any particular store as I do not go often. That being said, do not buy English garden brand LED Christmas lights. We all know with these lights, one light fails, part of the line goes out. Well with this brand the lights are not removable. So once they are gone, they are gone. Cheap lights sold at a premium when not on sale. Too bad I didn’t notice until a few year after having them. SOL

Poor stote management! Have been standing in the lane for over 30 minutes just to buy a plant, because they are not capable to organizer a separate lane to those who need to make bouquets.

I have never been disappointed by the florists at English Gardens. Many times, Ive been guilty of showing up in a hurry for a funeral or other arrangement. They have always given me friendly and professional service as well as creative and beautiful arrangements that completely met or exceeded my expectations. They win my repeat business every time.

While English Garden prices in some instances are a bit higher than a big box store, keep in mind, the quality they carry is also higher end quality. I purchased Allysum from English Garden as well as Allysum from a small local gardening shop.The English Garden Allysum returned year after year. It grew well and left seeds each year.The smaller allysum purchased from the smaller plant center struggled to grow and didnt reseed for the following growing season.For me the bottom line is you get what you pay for. I trust the quality English Garden offers.And when you put time, energy and care into your garden, your home, its good to know that your work is returned with a lovely garden.

Ive been going here since I was young. Wonderful florist and garden center.

Called ahead of time to ensure that they had a specific plant in stock, guy told me they had plenty in stock. Went to the store and they said they didnt have any in stock. Girl at store said that their inventory system is not reliable. They offered to have plants shipped to store with a later date pickup. That didnt help me any as I had driven 30 minutes specifically to get the items. The store should physically check there stock in these situations if there inventory controls are poor.

I called and asked if they had vegan fertilizer. The guy on the phone said yes, emphatically they do. When I got there I asked if they could show me which brand. The guy showed me a vegetarian brand, which is not vegan. I said its not vegan and that I drove out there because he said they had it. He shrugged his shoulders and walked away. I asked if they had vegan potting soil and no one who worked there knew, so I just left and drove thirty minutes back home.

This garden center is a staple of dearborn during the summer. The prices are slightly higher than home depot for example, but the service is much better and knowledgeable staff.

Being the holiday season, and crazy people everywhere. I got what I was looking for with in a reasonable time. It was busy.

This place is ridiculous! Their staff is extremely unhelpful. Horrible customer service. They did nothing to offer any help and when I asked for help the lady at the register became overwhelmed because she was rinkng up one customer, and there a tantrum. Then the florist “experts” told me they do custom arrangements but that I need to “go do it myself” they refused to show me where anything is and then I got to the cash register and was unable to purchase my items because they could not find any prices on their pots. She just kept saying there’s no prices didn’t try to get another item that looks like it kept staring the register as if it would miraculously give her a price! I went in wanting to work in several projects and support them, however I will not be spending my money where I am not being helped or acknowledged as a customer. I will take my business somewhere else.
