They took my 580 dollars and never added a hitch because the Call line never communicated to the store that I upgraded to a 2 hitch. Each time I call the store I get the call line so I never actually talk to the store employees. The communication between the Call line and the store is terrible.Update: still nothing from Uhaul. Nothing to reassure me that I will be taken care of or be refunded the 580 dollars for a hitch receiver that still isnt on my vehicle. If I could Id give this business 0 stars.Update 2 - 23 Aug: still waiting.. no calls and still holding my cash.Update 3 - 23 Aug: visited store.. part was in but too busy to call me. Canceled order and received refund.. Manager (very polite) said service is bad because nobody wants to work there. Apparently a Uhaul store manager makes only 20 bucks according to Indeed. That is terrible.. Joe, the CEO, needs to pay his people better.. I will try my best to never use Uhaul again

Went there to purchase a 40 lb propane tank, to be use for a winter camping trip. They had what I needed in stock and was able to get it filled the same day. Staff very professional and was able to answer my questions regarding this item 8 purchase. Definitely a very busy place, call first.

I felt incredibly impelled to right this review. AJ and his staff helped me have the least stressful move of my entire life. They did not know, but I had a family member pass away right before the move and had to make at least four changes to my reservation. Each time they were happy to make the change for me and answered all questions I had throughout the process. I have had some rough experiences with U-Haul in the past but this experience made me want to use U-Haul for every single move. I wish every U-Haul in the US was run like this location. Thank y’all for all the help!

Lol this place is as crooked as they come. I rented a 26 truck and there is no way it was allowed to be on the road. Alignment was a mess, shocks were non-existent, and the tires were bald. Unfortunately, some of these issues couldnt have been detected until after driving it a while.Now onto the usage of the truck. Every bump in the road, the truck growned and moaned like I hit an animal. The truck loading door had alot of trouble opening and going up (it would jam like there was an obstruction). After getting the door up with quote a bit of effort and once all thr loading was done, I couldnt get the door down. I tried for our five times before realizing the wire rope that supports the door unspun from the spindle and was all tangled up. I had to disconnect It the rope from the door in order to shut and latch the door.When calling to report the issue, the actual rental site doesnt answer the phone (tried many times), all calls get routed to a call center and we all know how useless call centers are. It is two days later and I am again on hold with the rental site so I can address the truck issue and the bill related to my rental.Worst truck rental experience ever!Renter beware!

This Uhaul location was great! My wife and I were moving down to Georgia, and unfortunately I underestimated the amount of things we had. I called this location and they were able to accommodate my need for a cargo trailer immediately. They were extremely helpful, and gave me a great rate. Thank you for making a stressful situation a lot easier to manage.

I came there with a V8 Jeep, plenty capable of towing a Corvette (I was told GM is known for making heavier vehicles) and their system, clearly designed to prevent those vehicles that are just barely on that unable to tow bar from being used. So instead I got a truck. $19.95! with of course the 59 cents a mile I was aware of, which is disgustingly ridiculous. (Makes me want to make my own company similar to U-Haul so that they may be destroyed) At first the mileage had a +29 mile difference so that was made for me to cover, which I worked out, but for why? Just ended up getting charged a $40 (cleaning) service fee just for some smoking on the job, harassing veterans, guy can spray a trailer with a hose for 30 seconds.The second I got there a disabled veteran has looking to get a trailer, what I thought was a gentlemen got into an argument with the veteran and said some choice words to each other. Neither were in the right but for him to not be able to explain in easy terms and keep his cool shows incompetence in his job and his disregard for those who kept and keep this country safe and possible temperament issues. But he is of relation to the General Manager so lucky him. I was also referred to a gas station, a lovely place to pay inside when you only need to put a very specific amount of fuel in your vehicle (how convenient).I ended up spending over $210 dollars on a service that was hardly worth it (and for those who want to dissect everything in this review, I drove 100 miles flat). I only needed to get my Corvette to a shop for maintenance. It shouldve cost $80, not a Hibachi meal for 3.Hopefully I have the success to rid U-Haul of business but until then Id recommend finding another U-Haul (that doesnt hate people) or coordinating with friends and friends of friends to do your moving needs.NOT A VETERAN FRIENDLY establishment.

Went there with intentions of renting a trailor.We picked it up and didnt even get home and found out we would need it even longer. Called and it wasnt available that long so had to return it didnt even have it for 20 min and upon return they told us we would still be charged 24 hours. Then they said well to be generous we will give u partial back. Yet i was told if i was late by 30 min they would charge me another 24 hours. Ok so u can charge me an additional 24 hours but i still needed it for a couple days if ur gonna charge me anyways. Nope. Im calling the BBB and attorney general and contesting the charges. Glad i use paypal card they always got my back.

Always stocked, helpful and clean. Every employee knows the products and services uhaul has to offer and they go above and beyond to help. The storage areas are very clean, well kept and they even have restroom available. In the storage buildings they even have areas where you can place things you no longer want but that are still good for others to help themselves too.

I walked in, and was able to walk up to the desk, no line. The guy at the counter was friendly, and did a very good job at explaining the process, expectations of renting their equipment. I left with confidence, feeling that I had made a good choice renting from Uhaul. Another employee went to fetch the truck and parked it outside running in front so when I was done at the counter, I could just walk out, hop in, and take off - which I appreciated.

Great experience getting help installing my trailer hitch wiring. They were able to explain everything to me and took about an hour to install the tail light and brake light wiring with front hood battery connection. They seem to be different from the people that previous bad reviews were referring to and their overall service is great!

Two years ago, they put a hitch and wiring on my Ford Transit. When I got it home, the wiring didnt work, so I brought it back, and they put a new wiring harness set in. This week, the wiring stopped working again. After a few hours of trying to figure it out, I found that U-Haul had done a rotten job with the power wire from the battery. One of the crimp connectors by the fuse wasnt crimped at all, and only friction was holding it together. In the rear of the vehicle, I found that they had used three different crimp connectors in the space of just 2 feet of wire like they were trying to piece together short sections to reach all the way back. One of them was not crimped correctly, and this was causing the failure. Sloppy work means I wont go back to them.

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever had renting any type of vehicle. I rented a box truck out of Dayton,OH as around trip to Flint, MI and back. Took twice as long as it should have due to mechanical issues with the truck. My employees pulled over 4 times and call road side assistance. What a joke. No help so they limped the truck into Flint wit the check engine light on and running terribly! A so called mechanic finally showed up the next day looked at the truck and I dont know whats wrong with, ok Bye! I said Well I need another truck for my guys to Safely to go back to Dayton in His response..... Just down to another U-haul and they will switch it. Them it went completely down hill from there. Never got another truck with at least 10 phone calls to employees all way thru upper management. Hell, they were acting like it was somehow my fault! I have been in business 20 years and this probably the worst customer service and response in all that time!

Made s reservation by phone for a 15ft van. Customer service didnt explain the driver had to have the credit card on them. They will only rent to individuals with credit cards, military id, passport, or green card. The associate told my friend if she was on welfare or some other disability they would give her a a credit card and that would work. Whats a normal working person supposed to do? A normal honest working person with no credit card is a risk to their trucks, but a person with only a green card is not? They even suggested she get on welfare. They made me and my landlord feel worthless. Do not rent from these people!

One of the worst experiences I have ever had in my life. They did a terrible job explaining procedures and expectations during the rental process in regards to damage to their vehicle. I damaged the passenger side mirror while I was backing up, and I contacted my insurance company, who informed me I was covered through my rental insurance and that I needed to get the damage estimate from U-Haul, so they could get the process started and pay them. U-Haul refused to deal with my insurance company, they refused to give me an invoice or an estimate of damages, and they expected me to pay site unseen double the amount the Dodge dealership quoted me for the repair. $800 to replace a side mirror. $800… And if I didn’t pay they were going to take legal action/contact debt collectors. And then they slid in the “if you pay it now, and quick settle, will give you a 20% discount on the damages”. I swear AJ the store manager said something about small claims court, but he keeps trying to walk that back. The store manager AJ At one point argued with me on the phone, yelled at me, and then hung up on me. Again, he absolutely refused to give me the invoice for the estimate for the repairs and the damages. All I was trying to do was pay for the damages, but the way Uhaul handles this is criminal. They decide how much the parts and labor are, which are grossly inflated. I guess I should have realized that when I saw them selling empty boxes for $5 each. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and I am waiting for someone from their corporate office to contact me. I honestly feel the best way to describe U-Haul is predatory lending. If you have to rent something from them, even if you have the best insurance in the world, you have to buy their insurance or else they will double charge you the same way that a predatory lender does. Stay away from U-Haul!!!!

This was the most awful experience. The site on W. Third St. is so unorganized and sloppy. Customer service sucks as well. Said they had a truck, and didnt. Had to go elsewhere for the truck. Paid for 24 hour access, was denied and that made it impossible to return the truck at the given time. Manager on call never answered nor returned phone calls. Just down right horrible.

We had a terrible experience with this uhaul place! I agree if -5 stars were an option I would have picked that! It started out OK until we found out that their customer service was not truly customer service. We had rented the truck to empty a storage unit and it ended up costing more than the monthly storage would have been! We needed the truck a little longer than we expected. When I called to ask them about it they said it was fine and we wouldnt be charged extra. We had to call back because we ran in to difficulty as you often do with moving. It always takes longer than you expect. When I called again the guy who answered said no problem! If you can be here before we close at 7:00pm, we will still not charge you extra. (This was a Sunday I might add). At no time did anyone mention that they were not at the store but at a call center god knows where! We arrived to drop the truck off at 6:12pm. The store was closed! When I called back they said oh just leave key in drop-off box and they will take care of it tomorrow. I called back the next day and found out that they charged us for an extra day and extra insurance! I called back at least 3 times to speak with the so called general manager, even left a time when I was available so I could talk to him. Naturally he called when I was not available and left me a message like a coward would! He did refund a portion of the charges but not enough as far as I am concerned! I have called again and spoke with a guy would seemed at first to want to help but also wanted to talk all afternoon. Evidently he had alot of time on his hands. He explained the way their customer service line works and the way they can get message to manager. It makes no sense at all! The message appears on the computer at the store for a half an hour. If they are with customers and dont see it then it goes away after that! I have been in customer service almost my entire life. I have always been trained to make the customer happy and the customer is always right! Apparently alot has changed in how that works these days. DO NOT EVER RENT ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE OR BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!

Isnt very nice to the people who comes in there to rent your Trucks. He told us that this is his Dads place. That we can talk to him but it wouldnt get us no where to talk to him that he would be the some way to us. So I dont and have told everyone not to go to that U-Haul there is one on N. Dixies right by the drive-in. This place is no good or they just dont like ladys to come in to there place to rent Trucks. I do hope your son was lieing about u dont really wanting to work with the people that comes in there. We waited over 3 hours for him to come help us get your truck to start to the point that he changed me a hole new day bc we was late bring your TRUCK back to u and we had called there so many times trying to get him to come to my new home to help us. Get that truck to start for us. Bc am not Dayton,Ohio Iam from Columbus, Ohio didnt know anyone here to come and help us so that we wouldnt be late taking your truck back to u but that didnt happen so I was changed for the next day too. The bad part I didnt have the money to give up at that time. The sad part about all this stuff Bc we couldnt get him to come and help us the truck set there for 3 or 4 hours in the heat with kids didnt get the rest of my grandchildrens and my belongings beds front room stuff clothes that we couldnt get to use the TRUCK just the one time Bc it wouldnt start so I had to sleep on the floor. Still to this day I havent got to get me a bed room set that I didnt get to get Bc of your son. I felt bad that I did get up set at the lady on the phone butI, I can say I didnt talk to her in a bad way at all like I was talked to from your son. We walked from my old place on Wayne ave to your place an back to my new place in the heat with one of my grandchildren in the heat. To lose there things an my things put out all that money to be done in a bad way. Then the kicker of it all my children call You back like I was told to do to talk to you and I never ever got to talk to the Big Man of the house or a call back from you Bc of all this Bull-stuff your Son did to us that day everything we lost Bc we didnt have a TRUCK BUT. I HAD TO PAY FOR IT BC I WAS LATE GETTING BACK TO YOU THAT DAY. SAD thing is some man that came out of the Woodland Cemetery stopped an asked if us ladys need help the kids said yes we have been waiting for the man from U-Haul to come an help us we want something to eat sad dont you think sir that we was waiting that long was that up-set that krogers was right there I was scared to go anywhere to get them something to eat that I would miss your son. - intercom does not work, so if you need assistance you have to walk around to the front of the building.- light sensors take a few minutes to turn on and some wont always go on.- phone reception is poor inside the storage unit.- management forgets to mention they are going to put their own lock on the storage unit so you have to go through the office to get access to your merch.-Customer service is very lousy. First day I had trouble with my card to access the building, I must have attempted to swipe that card 100 times. I must have tried to call on the intercom for an hour before walking over to the office to have the Manager at that time say oh yeah, the intercom doesnt work then when I brought up how my card didnt work he said I must be using it wrong because it works fine. HOW DO YOU USE A CARD WRONG.When I asked him to walk out there with me and try it he declined and had someone esle walk me out. The guy who walked me out told me everyone has problems with the cards because it is such an old system.Another time before I had auto pay I was walking in to pay my bill and as I got out of my car I saw on the dash it was 6:55 pm. I saw the two associates coming to lock the front door and they even looked right at me and walked into the back as I approached the door. I took a pic of the time frame and got the two guys in the pic to show that the guys closed early.After that I set up auto pay.Spoke with an associate in the store tonight to see why there was a new lock put on my door and she swore it had to be because I didnt pay my bill! Now I told her I would show her on my credit card statement that I paid it and she basically called me a lair. I tried to clarify to her that everyone in the storage unit has the same lock on their door so does that mean everyone didnt pay there bill.Spoke with the new manager tonight to ask about this lock and he politely told me that the computers where down for the night so he was unable to help at all. When i explained that was unacceptable I needed into my shed tonight he continued to apologize saying his hands were tied. How can the GM not notify the customer that a new lock was put on there property and then expect the customer to be ok with it.

Theres no option for a negative star or they would of gotten -5stars!Uhaul on E. 3rd st. Dayton Ohio is the worse I have ever experienced!! I expected poor services from the employees, but to receive worse treatment from the GM Brett Massie is unbelievable! Brett Massie the GM of Uhaul on third street got upset when I complained about our truck leaking water and ruining multiple items! He acted like a 2yr old and threw his clipboard and told me tp F### off!! Ive never witnessed a grown man act so childish! Then to top it off I was charged a different price than originally quoted. I paid the price and left just to avoid grabbing Brett Massie from behind the counter and punching him in the throat! Be prepared to get robbed and verbally abused when going to this location! Brett Massie is the reason I will never rent from Uhaul again!#FIREGMBrettMassie
