I called this place in advance and they told me they could come up with an offer before they tested my gold. I get there, and they say they cant give me an offer until they test it. Of course they test using destructive means, and theres absolutely no reason they cant tell me how much they pay for gold in advance.If they are that sketchy about their gold prices, its likely because they dont offer much at all, and want to deface your item in the process. Likely to devalue it before they give you an offer. I wouldnt be surprised if they blamed you for the damage too.Terrible, terrible, TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Terrible people that cant keep their word.. If they will treat a disabled veteran like that, they will treat absolutely anyone like that.In the end, I hope they are glad that I dont have the time to mess with them. Small claims is only $50 in court costs for those that live here. I suggest the populace start holding these establishments responsible for their BS. I could and would take care of them myself, but I got bigger fishes to fry, in way better states. I will still leave a complaint with the better business bureau before my departure.

My first purchase was at the Brady Street business before moving to five points. I have bought guns, multiple tools, (routers, jig saws) for the past 3 years. I found this Digital Piano on Jays sight and negotiate the price down $10 but Davenport is a 100 miles away and 5 Hours round trip. As he shared with me over the phone they dont do store-2-stores transfers, but he new a guy traveling my way got him to take it to my to my local store, He kept me informed of the status and didnt even ask me to pay without seeing the instrument 1st. I went to pick it up and it was in even better condition than described. $400 retail and it is mine for $75 including the folding stand. If you want good honest deals, go seek Jay at 5 points Pawn King.Could not be happier.

I’ve been sold 2 defective consoles from this pawn shop. Luckily I had time to test the first one immediately but I work 2 jobs and didn’t have time to work the second one. I try to return it a bit more than a day later and they say they can’t do that. Not only that but they don’t do cash back at all so you’re forced to continue shopping at their low quality store. It’s a waste of your time and money, don’t ever go to this pawn shop for any electronics, ever.

My experience with Pawn King on W. Locust was excellent. from the time I walked into the door I was greeted immediately with a smile and how are you today it was refreshing you dont see that very often I was asked if there was anything they could help me with and I had to look at her name tag and it said Cindy and I said well Im looking for an iPhone for my son she said Im sorry we dont have any in at the time and made a call over to the Rock Island store and asked but they didnt have any either but it was the fact that her and another gentleman were very polite and asked if there was anything else I wanted to look at so I kind of looked at a couple of other things and they walked with me and ask if theres any questions I have about anything were here to answer them for you and I said to both of them thank you. What got me was the friendly atmosphere when I walked in there was just delightful its definitely somewhere I will plan to go in the future for looking for things that I need. Not only a good price but good customer service thank you Cindy for the great greeting and the hard work there I appreciate the quality time Cindy gave to us and if youre looking for something like that Pawn King is definitely the place to go on West Locust and ask for Cindy. My son doesnt usually speak to a lot of people when going into places but Cindy gave that feeling of so much comfort it just threw me off guard when my son started asking questions thank you again.

Worst customer service Ive ever experienced in my entire life. The manager was the most rudest, snotty, unprofessional person Ive ever dealt with at any business...ever. She really needs freshen up on her customer service skills & to remember that the reason she has a job is because of the customers like myself who come in to her store. I really do not understand how somebody like that was even able to obtain a manager postion. I Have bought/sold things from there many times and will never return after that.

Tried buying a firearm and they didnt know how to read my permit to carry. It took awhile and I just gave up. Just had to say never mind. Seemed they have no idea how to sell firearms. They said owner wasnt there and they dont know how to do it.

Im a huge gun guy. I use to go to the pawn king on brady where they were very knowledgeable on both handguns and rifles. They were my go to place. They shut down that location so I tried the one on locust. They wouldnt budge on a gun I was interested even after I found out there was a part missing to take down the gun. Im going to go shoot it this weekend. Heres hoping it fires and cycles properly because they dont test them before buying and its as is. I will buy my guns somewhere else from now on.
