My first time going to major art & hobby Center was fantastic. I started building models again. Which I havent done since I was very little. They were very welcoming entering the store. Gave me great advice and knowledge about paints and primers. They have a huge selection of tamiya paints along with other brands. Fantastic prices on everything in the store. Been there a bunch and the guy was always short and rude. But the last time 12/5/2020 he was very rude and we will never go there again. Dont just take my word my stepdad was there every time. After the first time he did not want to go back but I wanted to support local hobby shops but it was the same each time. Sad.

We live in Central IL and have driven to Major Art and Hobby 4 times now. It only takes us about an hour and 15 mins. to get there. It is a nice store with friendly people. I have found what I wanted there every time we have gone there. It is worth the drive. I like the location in downtown Davenport. The buildings are older but have been renovated. Now if the Mississippi will keep her waters in the banks and not flood everything.

If you are looking for trains, remote controlled cars, planes, or drones and so much more this is theplace. Its not Hobby lobby or JoAnns crafts. Major Art & Hobby most likly will not have embroidery floss, Deco posh or silk flowers.I picked this up for my engineer Son-in-law whom works for John deer. It is a rubber band powered combine. I have recomended Major Art & Hobby many times. They have been in down town Davenport for a long long time!

Love this place! I was telling my friend whos into Gunpla, that this places Gunpla selection is bigger than a Hobby Lobbys ENTIRE model kit selection! This joint had everything! Cars, Trucks, Planes, Trains, And everything you need to build! Even had some Evangelion kits! Perfect hobby store, and glad to have one in close proxsimity!

I am from Michigan and I LOVED this shop. As a model railroader I always look for shops to visit and try to find equipment for my layout. This hobby shop is very well stocked with model trains as well as the most often seen hobbies of RC and plastic model kits. If you are from out of town like me and are unable to find what you want at your local hobby shop like me, stop by and take a look as there is a good chance you will find what you are looking for just like I did!

If youre interested in arts and crafts this place is definitely a place to visit. Theyve got stuff from RC car kits, Car models, Gundam kits, paints, air spray, and basically everything youd need for them and more. The prices on the kits are priced lower than what you would find them online for. For instance I found a Gundam kit I wanted at the shop priced at $13 when on Amazon it was priced at $18 (without shipping). I was recommended this store through my father who has been going to this store when he was younger to get car models. Its full of nice people and they are always ready to help you find something youre looking for or if you have any questions on projects youre working on.

I have been going to a Major Art and Hobby since I was a teenager. They have always been accommodating and if they did not have what I needed, they were quick to order it for me. Weather to be Art supplies, Model trains are RC airplanes, I would recommend this place to shop.

This is the most complete hobby-shop in the QC area. The staff is knowledgeable about their products and how to use them. The also have a consignment-shop in the basement that is always fun to visit.

Have bought pictures, model cars and slot cars there over the years. Jane is kind and very knowledgeable. Three generations of Majors have made this an old fashioned service first hobby shop.

They had exactly what I was looking for and more and there prices were surprising low as a matter of fact I am going back tomorrow and looking into buying an r. Car one of the ones you build from a kit in the box I remember when they cost about 400 to syR5 without the renotewae like 120 by its eery of thos placejad that same remote for I think thdu said 60-66 I am shocked and very interested people might say Im too old or why spend that kind of money on some toy, I so your only as oldadyou wannabe and if you ever saw one of these 80 mph you wouldent calll it a toy thats almost 300 mph to scale beT that with your sensible car or socket mom mobile @LOL

I grew up in Moline. I remember my mom taking my brother and me to this family-owned hobby shop back in the late 60s and early 70s. Usually, we visited on Saturdays. As little kids, we were fascinated by all the stuff on the shelves. But as we wandered around the store, we typically had a rude and unhelpful store employee hovering just feet away, keeping an eye on us as if we were going to steel something. I remember one guy in particular -- how he stood there with his arms folded, staring at us as if we were big-time shoplifters. It was quite amazing; Ive never in my life encountered such creeps anywhere like that, and Ive been all over the world since growing up in the Quad-Cities. My father was a rather prominent physician in Moline; so this was definitely not the sort of sleaziness we were used to. Visiting this hobby shop was one of the few negative experiences I grew up with in the Quad-Cities. I recall that my mom finally got fed up with one of the rude and unhelpful shop owners and exchanged some words with him. We never went there again. Im amazed to see this trashy place is still in business.

My go to hobby store. They have a very well rounded supply of RC planes, helis, quads, cars and equipment and parts for the hobby. As well as model trains, rockets and plastic model kits. Probably one the best things is the 2nd floor where u can buy and sell used planes, helis,trains etc. There is always a changing show room up there. Except the model trains while plenty remains quite staggnet. As an RC plane enthusiast I cant recomend this place enough!!
