Its a hit or miss, depending on the employee you deal with.Today I was lucky. Reggie in the meats department is awesome, great attitude and work ethic. And then this young guy who helped me with returning something for Amazon. Gosh, I wish I could remember his name! He was awesome, efficient, friendly and helpful! Thumbs up !

This is such a great store! I usually go for Specialty items and still go to Stop & Shop for my main grocery shopping. However their produce is the best, along with their meat and seafood! I have 15 items that I always get from them and I love them!! Clean, organized and always great quality! I love the store in Darien because it’s much larger, but I shop regularly at Greenwich store too!

Has pretty much everything; some items run out pretty quick and they dont restock on time, but the wait is never too long.

Good clean store with great organic food choices (2017) - Updated (2018) All the organic peaches and nectarines spoil within two days of purchasing. I have tried on different occasions in both this store and the Westport store with the same results. Appears that they are getting frozen fruits and letting it thaw out and it becomes mildewed after its purchased...thanks Amazon!

My daughter had given me a gift card bacck in early December of 2020 and I was not able to use it. Tried four times in store to rectify this problem she re e mailed the info to them and still customer service would not help. Very very disappointed, not worth the four trips and hours of arguing with them. I noted that their customer service booth said 100% satisfaction. In my case it was 0 percent.

Very safe during pandemic. Food is very fresh. Check out is quick and safe. I recommend going during non-crowded times.

Nice clean well maintained log selection

I always loved whole foods for its products and all the costume service. I went there at 7pm today (May 31st - Memorial day) to but my meal box (1 protein and two sides). I always buy this box and I love it. Today they didn’t have options for the sides (pasta salad, beets and brussel sprouts sprouts. It was end of the day, close to the time to close the supermarket. I choose a salmon, and was ok with the Brussels sprouts as the first side. I don’t eat beets or pasta, so I asked if I could have the tuna salad or the egg salad and one of the ladies was patient and told me that probably she couldn’t do it. She called another lady, one with red hairs and she was super rude with me. She told me if I wanted another protein to go to the costume service and ask. She said I could have pasta or beets and I told her and I don’t eat and she was like “too bad”.Super super rude. I left without buying anything and looking for another option for dinnes after a busy day putting house stuff together.I always admired whole foods, and now I am completely disappointed.

I feel bad writing such a low rating because up until tonight, the entire staff has always been so amazing at this location every time I visit. So much more pleasant than other markets. Until tonight. They close at 9. I show up at 8:52 and was immediately greeted by a lady who said “I hope you are not doing a lot of shopping “. I told her I had 8 minutes and would be quick and received a nasty look. I was out at 9:01 btw. When I was checking out I mentioned my experience to the lovely cashier and it turns out that the lady who greeted me is the “big boss”. I hope this is seen by the appropriate individuals because I certainly do not need to spend my hard earned money here. Will gladly shop in my home town instead, save money and avoid rude management. To the rest of the lovely staff, I hope you aren’t treated like that. You are amazing and I thank you for the great service you provided all this time.

Whole foods is by far one of the best Organic food markets in the country. Their customer service as well as their products is top notch. I love shopping there. The bakery cakes are amazingly delicious. Must go if you live near by.

Healthier options than your standard grocery. Always some great salad/hot bar items. Secret....you can make a mini meal at the deli stand with two sides. I always get the salmon. 😋

Its a Whole Foods - not a monster-huge one (like the one back home in Downtown Austin), but its still large enough.Things of note• The bulk coffee beans are out front, by the baked goods• The hot-table is...small• The cheese section is even smaller• Theyll happily make you ground lamb/pork if there isnt any ready• Loose organic potatoes and onions are rarely available• Its easy to get off/on the freeway from this location

Very pricey, but I still love it! Some of the positions are moderately priced, and you almost certainly get a good quality. If someones interested, I do recommend buying here:- cheeses are awesome, but very pricey. Discounts from time to time- beef, especially grass-fed. Prices are okish- coffee (365 pacific rim one of my favorites)- milk products- vegs and herbs (cilantro one love) - prices more or less are reasonable- chocolate (youd never find some positions anywhere else)- fillo dough- flowersBy the way, Im unhappy you cannot use self-service coffee grinders anymore, but thats the different story.

Probably best salad/hot bar in Fairfield County. Tons of healthy options...quinoa, spinach, kale and a delicious selection. Tikka Masala, Grilled chicken, pulled pork, roasted veggies, fresh strawberries...they have it all!Darien has a better selection of hot foods compared to some of the other W.F.M locations..Plus you can grab some delicious cake, cupcakes, sorbet or ice cream when your done offered right there in store!!

Missing a bunch of stuff but good quality and efficiency

One of the better socially distanced grocery experiences; the taped out lines outside to wait 6 ft apart, a dedicated attendant wiping down carts thoroughly to give you one if you need, and one way designated aisles throughout the store wherever space wouldnt safely permit giving the appropriate space buffer to someone coming your way. Contactless payment option and loyalty scanning, so all around a well executed experience, thank you whole foods!

This whole foods is very clean and organized. It is constantly being stocked which is great and if you are looking for something that doesnt seem to be on the shelf, someone will be more than willing to go ahead and find it in the back for you. The employees are very friendly. I Have never had a bad experience with the employees, even when I felt as though I was bothering them with questions. There is also a section with hot food which tastes great. I come here all of the time for my shopping and I can recommend this whole foods to anyone looking for a great place to shop for their food.

I love this wholefoods store, it is by far the nicest one Ive seen. It is very spacious. The parking are is large. I would say that the assortment of items is very large and now that amazon owns them, I highly recommend using your Amazon credit card with prime to get 5% cash back on purchases at wholefoods. The vegetables and fruits are always fresh and I really enjoy shopping and walking around in this beautiful store.

Love my store. No real complaints. They sell a great variety of organic produce, what more can u ask for? 4-stars because they changed the layout, moved things around and now i take much longer to find what i need....sometimes i have to ask for help. Example: the ketchup moved 4 aisles over in some inconspicuous spot. (A little exaggeration, but u get the idea)

Great food that they serve in the hot food bar. Also love the sushi they make their too. Bakery is really nice and their cakes taste really good.

This Whole Foods was recently renovated and Im glad, since it was long overdue.The people here are very nice, and with the renovation, they finally brought up the food bar area up to par with demand. The new layout is much better for shopping, as well.

We love our Whole Foods and are very grateful for it because they definitely carry things that nobody else does. Their prices continue to be much higher than regular supermarkets in spite of Amazon saying that they were cutting prices across the board. There are some items in the health department that can be up to 50% more than on Amazon. It is easy to check Amazons site while being at Whole Foods and then go home and order it from Amazon, if I can wait two days. It is a great resource for our town.

Great location...

Went back and forth between 2 and 3 starts and decided on 2, heres why: we got meat from them 2 separate nights (lamb, ribeye, and pork chops) and both times the meat was tough and very over priced for the quality prepared (couldve gotten higher quality meat for a fraction of the price at a local super market). We got string beans that were also very tough and unappetizing. The miscellaneous items we bought were fine, but we could get them cheaper at other grocery stores.Why not 1 star, I got some of the best corn on the cob Ive eaten there and basil that made delicious pesto. But that explains the low rating, they cannot be consistent and for the prices they charge I will not be going back after I finish the gift card I was given.

Out of Turkeys two days before Thanksgiving! For the past 3+ years, have purchased Turkey on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and there was always large selection. This year, sold out! Is this reflective of new Amazon management? Had to go to Trader Joes to buy Turkey.

The Darien Whole Foods has been wonderful during these difficult times. Everything is wiped down, easy to navigate, cashiers and staff have been extremely helpful and kind.

I come to this store at least 3x week...many good things to say...however, my biggest complaint is that almost always the letus in the salad bar is withered...definitely not fresh and crisp. This is very disappointing.

The selection is bad by Whole Foods standards, but I love most of the cashiers. They are really friendly, and most of them know me from coming in so often. I live right down the Post Rd, so its convenient. Go to the Port Chester Whole Foods for better selection, but Darien has friendlier cashiers. Another thing I like is that Ive never waited in long lines, in the two or three years Ive been coming here regularly. I had to change my rating to four instead of three. If this location had wider food selection, it would be a five.

Absolutely the worst Whole Foods I have ever had the misfortune of stepping foot in. Go to the Westport store instead. The employees dont seem to know the layout of their own store. The packaged products I look for are always out of stock. When I ask questions I usually get a response that makes me feel like they just want me to leave. I remember a time when this store was the greatest, but all the employees I used to be able to get help from are gone and those that are left simply dont care and seem like they dont want to be there.

Excellent variety of organic fruits and vegetables! I was amazed and happy to see they dont sell brands like Lays or other junk food items! Everything is fresh very well organized, the deli and their fresh made bakery items are delicious!

I have gone to this WF for the past 3 years because of the variety of milks that are non-dairy that you can select from however it’s extremely disappointing that EVERY time I go there is a new face behind the espresso bar.One day my mocha latte tastes and great or another day it will look and taste gross like this! (see picture)I bought the mocha with oat milk yesterday and the new barista behind the espresso bar made this for my husband and I.It wasn’t busy so there I wasn’t a need to rush the process for making our drinks.If WF only cared about making sure that their stations are only covered by bodies instead of training their staff fully before throwing them out the floor and start making drinks like this.Exactly 2 inches worth of mocha on the caked onto the bottom of the cup!

Excellent store. Huge selection and always fully stocked. Produce section is a little limited, but the quality is great. Parking lot is big, and check-out is usually fast.

I know its expensive, but frankly you wont find such a large selection of veggies anywhere in the area. I would recommend not doing all of your shopping here as it adds up quickly. They also have a lot of local products from the tri-state area.

I only pick up a few things there because its on my way to work, but I wouldnt go out of my way to shop there. I cannot recommend Whole Foods Darien by the mere fact that it smells disgusting when you move to the back of the store. I would not buy their meat or fish for this reason. The atmosphere is very cold but this is Eastern establishment central so I ignore it. The prepared food is not up to a standard that would warrant the snobbery. But lately, its getting worse. Overpriced. And they tried to jack up some prices but had to bring them down again. Weird place.

The quality of their lettuce is way too hit and miss. Its like the department doesnt check its pre packages foods. Two times no weve bought rotten lettuce thats supposed to be good.

We hardly go anymore since the Amazin acquisition. Less product selection. We use aldis and Trader Joes more often.

The service was great but the ground turkey patties werent.I bought two packs of ground parties. Both patties were pink from front but brown from the bottom. I returned both packs and they refunded me. I recommend checking the meats before cooking them.

Store is nice, but the parking lot at this location is terribly unsafe, especially during busy hours. Location DESPERATELY needs speed bumps installed in the parking lot. Without question. Customers here are notorious, especially during busy hours, for attempting to speed around customers. Someone I know was already struck here twice, and this has nearly happened to me once before. Enough is enough.The icing on the cake came today when I was nearly hit not once, but TWICE in the lot by customers in vehicles refusing to heed the right of way, and instead trying to move swerve their cars around me. On my way out, an SUV blew the stop sign. Its an absolute zoo.

Walking into whole foods can be a bit overwhelming, but their​ is always someone from WF offering help. Im very impressed by the way they all nicely offer assistance with out being obtrusive. The produce is incredible and the prepared foods delicious!!!

While Costco offers cheaper prices for members, I admire Amazons attempt to charge vastly higher prices to its Prime members. Heck, people will fall for it, right? Want organic cherries at the Prime discount prices? Just go to Fairway and save the $100 membership price. Want hard, unripened, conventionally grown peaches? Just go to any Shop Rite. Actually Shop Rite is much better.The management of this chain lost interest long ago and Amazon will perform the coup de grace, and finally finish off fresh grown produce in the area. I still find some good fresh, organic produce at the farmers markets or Fairway, but great produce is almost impossible to find in Fairfield County. However, its easy to find pharmaceuticals that are plentiful and growing faster than fresh food. People make their choices.

Love this store...held off on going there during holiday rush but other stores had lesser quality meats and fish...yes, you pay more here but you get better stuff too...worth it in the end....

This place is incredibly awesome. They even have groceries here. But not every type of grocery you might expect.

I ordered a catering order online three days in advance. Upon arriving for pick up, the order wasn’t ready and no one knew what was going on. The manager’s excuse was I was 15 mins early so the order would be ready in 15 mins. Poor management. Never order online and if you do call ahead!
