Clean, beautiful floral, fruits and vegetables displays when entering right side entrance. Found what I needed. Early shopping shelves are stocked. I was just going for milk, no buggy. but as usual I got few items more, salami and yogurt. They have the flavor I wanted Costco doesnt carry . Probably paid more but got flavor I wanted. Asked question about the Chinese food self service area and learned they start filling it at 1030-11am . So Ill come earlier for it now back open. Hope on going open.

Obviously we frequent this Safeway for groceries but I highly recommend their bakery. They have THE best red velvet with cream cheese filling and frosting!Also try out their floral department. Fresh flowers you can find ready to go or make arrangements yourself.
I have always been happy with the consistency of a wide food variety, plenty of full shelves, ease of checkout, and good customer service. I like to get the sliced Boars Head deli meats and even if they are busy they always go out of their way to make the wait shorter. They have an APP for your phone that also gives great product information as well as $5 bonuses and even free items. I like the gas reward program too. Once I had a $1 off each gallon on gas. You can also get fresh seafood at the seafood counter and the Floral dept. always had fresh flowers. OK so its not a boutique grocery store but with the size of this store (which was expanded about 10 years ago) you are sure to find what you are looking for. OH, the wine dept is awesome too.
I find it unacceptable that in the time span of two weeks the Pharmacy is out of stock not on one but two prescription medications that I need to pick up every month. No phone call to notify us that they are out of stock, no attempt to locate it at another Safeway pharmacy around.
They get a 10! I actually just went for.my COVID vaccine and the process was very easy and didnt take too long. Thank you Safeway Pharmacy!

I placed an order last night to have food delivered this morning between 8-9 am for an old couple who can’t shop for themselves. At 10:30 am NOTHING HAD BEEN DELIVERED. When I called customer support, they said that it was in progress and it should be there within the hour. It’s been two hours later and NOTHING HAS BEEN DELIVERED. When I called again, they said, “Sorry, I see that it’s in progress and there are more like it. But the store isn’t responding. Sorry, there’s nothing I can help you with.” There was no motion to resolve it other than just wait and see what happens from their customer service.So I called myself and found out the store had staffing issues. Which I understand. But, it would’ve been nice if there had been some kind of system in place on the delivery app, email or calling system to let people who are spending GOOD MONEY AT THEIR BUSINESS to let them know status updates.This was poorly handled and the customer service corporately was poor and at a bare minimum and at the store, the poor representative had no information and had no idea how to answer the questions.Poorly handled. This wasn’t like some recreational order, this was an order for an older couple who can’t fend for themselves.

However, everything changed when Mr. Marquez was placed at this store. He treats his customers with dignity and respect. I wish he could be cloned. He is pleasant, helpful and professional. At Safeway this afternoon the lines were long and peoples carts were full. Got in line and waited my turn for over twenty minutes. In the meantime two checkers lights were turned off so no one got in their lines. I assumed their lines were closed or they were on their last customer since their lights were off. Finally I got in one line with the light off and told the checker that she and the other one needed to turn their lights on because people were waiting in the other lines a long time while other people were going in front of them in the non-lighted checkouts. The checker said they were just trying to help everyone and obviously she missed my point. She said she and the other checker werent supposed to be checking people out. Either they were or they werent and since they were they should have been there to help all the customers. Also thought it very rude of people to go in the apparently closed lines to find them open and then not alerting the next person in line. That would have been the kind thing to do. Also called customer service after I left and no one answered.

Decent Safeway, prices are okay, could be cheaper, and when I ordered curbside pickup, they didnt notify me they were out of milk. And they replaced the canned tomatoes to different brand but not milk. Still, thanks to the staff for working to keep us stocked up during this time.
Up front, I am not a Safeway fan. Never have been due to selection of ordinary foods. Prices seem too high.

My wife and I love this place. Who likes to drink coffee - also recommend visiting this place. Always fresh and very tasty coffee. Very invigorating in the morning before a hard days work. Delicious and fresh buns can also be bought here. The staff is quick and caring I think that it should be so in San Francisco

The store is going downhill. Very rude customer service person one time. I was told she had an issue at home. I could never behave this way in my workplace. There is NO excuse to be rude to a customer, especially one who is smiling, pleasant and calm. And when you complain about something, they brush you off and are sarcastic to boot. The manager didnt take me seriously. I felt completely disrespected. Never used to be like this. Its not fair to the few good staff working there, and not fair to a customer like me who has been shopping there since the store opened.

I normally don’t shop here because it’s further away from where I live, but my first trip to this store was about a month ago. I decided to go here because the store by my house needs major help in their Produce Department. How can 2 stores get their product from the exact same warehouse yet it’s presentation is totally different. Almost every time I go into the Safeway on Crow Canyon, the cut up fruit 3/$12 is either past the “sell by date” or it’s on the date that it’s to be sold by. Also, before putting the lid on the container, someone needs to make sure the fruit is not rotten or getting old, or the melons have no flavor. At $4.00 each (if you buy 3), it should be good quality!I now go to the Blackhawk store, which is out of my way, but worth it because they sell top quality merchandise and their clerks are very friendly and helpful. The Store Manager, Nicole is very sweet and on top of everything going on in her store. Kudos to the Blackhawk Safeway/Albertsons.
I love noting the differences between various Safeways. The Danville store has Ticklebelly cake bars, which I crave. Its also generally less crowded than my Richmond store.
FYI .. Sunday from 6 am - 9 am is now for 65 and older. They have a sign out front that they ordered and placed to let you know! Their voicemail and store hours has yet to be updated to let you know which is a 5 minute exercise but the 1+ week to get a sign out front is completed.

Clean store, not a lot of cashiers in the middle of the day when I was there, but self check out available. When I needed help, the assistant came right over quickly. Bathrooms are much cleaner than my regular store. Everything looks super tidy and well organized.
Had a rotten experience with cashier Sheila. She scolded and embarrassed me in front of other customers for tying my plastic vegetable bag closed, then opened it and pawed through the veggies with some dirty gloves she had on. Not good practice during covid times! Moreover, she left the bag open so that the veggies spilled and fell on my garage floor when I took my groceries out. To add insult to injury, when I stated that I felt embarrassed, she glared at me, became extremely hostile and agitated in voice and body language, came around the counter (I thought she was going to assault me) and said angrily - in a voice that indicated that she didnt really care - that I could talk to the manager.....Bad! Bad! Bad!Never in my lifetime has a single cashier ever scolded me for tying the veggie bags, and if more than one bunch of whatever veggies are in there, they will politely ask what they are (if they dont know) and how many bunches there are.
Impresed by new employee at check out today. It was refreshing to see and speak with a cheerful (very pleasant ) young lady.She was very courteous and demonstrated a positive attitude...happy to be her first day of her first.job. Hats Off! ..to your good hire. It w as a pleasure to shop today!!

The meat is very fresh and the produce are very fresh .
So I dropped a bowl of fruit by accident because the lid was a bit open so it was not my fault at all, I kindly asked a person that I could pay for it either way and the person walked off without saying a word and went to pick the mess up. A man walked by asking what happened and the person said “ clumsy people are horrible” to the man thinking I could not hear it. And this will make my experience here very uncomfortable and it makes me not want to come here anymore because people don’t accept mistakes there
So disappointing .... you don’t get what you are paying for it. Ordered half a sheet cake for my son’s birthday with the personal picture on it.The picture on the cake was ok, not perfect.I have seen better job done at the other places.I asked for marble cake. I did not get what I had ordered. they gave me half chocolate half whatever..... so so pissed off and disappointed.Also the cake tasted horrible. I had to throw almost the whole cake away.Wasted money, wasted timeNever going back again for any bakery needs.

The not so SafeWay of customer service:I make a plate from the self service area and go to the deli to get a price tag.... Five minutes pass by.... Ten, fifteen.... While waiting, two employees argued aggressively on which one can help me. My patience runs out, and I yell, can somebody charge me please. She ignores me while staring at me with demon eyes. He keeps yelling at her, it is your turn. It is your.... She interrupts, I have a customer. Then she angrily walks to the cheese cutter.

Very pleasant experience here on October 28th 2018 for any Safeway higher ups checking! One of the stocking guys helped me find what I needed and was really nice and upbeat. Then at the checkout, a blonde lady named Jennifer was super quick and efficient while helping me with their new app and did it all with a big smile and warm demeanor.Nicest Safeway ever!

Food rotting, freezers broken. Its been like this for months now. This location has gotten increasingly bad over the past couple years.
I love all the fresh, well maintained produce, and the employees at this store are friendly and helpful.
Groceries here are expensive. You can find most things at half the price elsewhere in Danville/San Ramon. There are way too many instances where there is a shortage of cashiers and the lines are 10+ persons long. All that being said, if you insist on going to a Safeway, this is the best Safeway in a 10 mile radius. The ones in San Ramon are awful.
Same as every other modern Safeway as a grocery store but the Tassajara Crossings Safeway consistently has the WORST deli sandwich service in the state. For YEARS they have consistently been SLOW and yet still screw up orders on the regular, lack common ingredients, and are polite but oblivious. Doesnt matter who is on staff. Not sure what the issue is but every few years I figure they must have sorted it out but nope, always an aggravating experience.
The store is clean and has Amazing deals everyday of the week. They also have gas rewards when you get a rewards card and lower deals on groceries.
Self checkout line makes buying groceries infinitely faster.
The pharmacist was upset because I had asked if they could give me my daughters medication 30 minutes before they opened. He was confrontational and wanted to refuse service because it was 9am sharp . The general manager of Safeway had to be called in. In addition, to get rid of me the pharmacist click decline consultation when I had questions about my daughters medication.

The pharmacy is always delayed, understaffed, and not trained. I had to wait 45 minutes to get absolutely nothing. I have to take I mportant medication but they don’t seem to care at all. Pathetic smhhhh.

Its a grocery store, nothing much. The place is clean, good products and staff, but the only thing is that the self checkout breaks frequently when it gets confused about the products that you put in the bagging area.

Safeway checkers dont seem to understand the purpose of an insulated bag. Tonight, only half of my yogurt was put in it along with canned goods and nuts. The rest of the yogurt was put in a cloth bag, with other cold food like bagged coleslaw. It happens all the time, especially when the checker is a guy or a kid.
Clean and well stocked supermarket. Wish they carried Halal meats, as many residing near here usually buy from small shops in other nearby cities.

At this location @4:30 pm I asked a sales person from Gourmet/Signature Kitchen how much the ribs were. He looked at me and said I dont know. And walked away. He didnt say Sorry, I dont know, but let me ask or get someone for you who can help out. Or something along these lines.Disappointing!!!
