We were in an emergency furniture situation. We needed everything NOW! My son and his wife were not expecting a baby but the little bundle of joy arrived. I drove in from TX to make it all happen. I walked in and Travon made the purchases happen and the delivery team delivered the same day. The delivery team took care in setting up the furniture and even helped with moving some things we couldn’t do ourselves. The team at Schewels was a huge blessing. Customer service is so hard to find. I’m forever grateful. We got a full house of furniture for an amazing price.

Got my furniture there for my new house! Well built, and must I say fast delivery as well! I also had a problem with the reclining part of my loveseat, and they were quick to come out and fix as well! Everyone that I have encountered at schewels was informative, non pressure, and helpful! Jeff, peppa, everyone on the finance part (sorry Im horrible with names 😅), and the delivery team were awesome! We will eventually be back when we get some bills paid off. 😅🤣

Worst experience ever! I bought my son a new bedroom suite for his birthday in mid August. His birthday was the 7th of September and here we are still without a bed. They sent me the wrong bed not once, not twice, but 3 different times!! They are very unorganized and not dependable at all. Each time I was told by a different person that they would make sure to fix the paper work and each time NO ONE fixed the paper work. So every time I got the bed it was wrong. They have failed me 3 separate times. My son is still sleeping on rails instead of his new bed. They have done nothing to rectify the situation! I am extremely dissatisfied with not only the one who sold us the bed but also the MANAGERS that promised to fix the problem. I will never buy from them again!!!

So, this was our first time in a really long time of actually going to a furniture store, but it was a pleasure with Miss Hope helping us. She treated us as if shes always known us, answered all of our questions, measured, looked stuff up, and was just all around accommodating, super friendly and very helpful. We brought home a stylish-yet-comfortable sleepover sofa, and now we know where well go the next time were in the market for furniture..The building has been recently updated and has a very clean, tidy and welcoming feel to it when you walk in. EDIT: Today, 4/7/21 we were finally able to return the chair, that we never got. For the second time we were told that the chairs that had been shown in stock at the South Boston store were being used by management. Thats awesome to know, seeing as we paid for one and they wanted to use it instead of selling it. Not sure how in a months time they were unable to order one at all. Not sure how we didnt even get an apology for the lack of customer service.. oh maybe thats it there was no customer service. We did ask to speak to the store manager but he doesnt work on Wednesdays and the last time I was in was his day to leave early, and the time before that he was not in.. guess he just manages his time off. Never again will I set foot in that store. I understand they prey on those who cant finance anywhere else and thats how they maintain business, its just sad they are so rude and disrespectful to customers who pay in full at time of service. Its sad my husband had to use time from his day off to deal with the return, its worse they think its funny that a chair we paid for was being used by management rather than being sold. Wish I could take away the 1 star I was forced to give.My husband ordered an office chair on 3/12 we were told another store had it and we would be able to pick it up next day... a week later we went to ask got told they would call us back, they never did, went back in a week later was told they would call back they never did, again a week later still havent heard. Now basically just waiting for my husband to have a day off so he can go cancel the order. Could have paid less on Amazon had the chair here already hand had much much much better customer service. We wanted to try and buy local, never again from Schewels, they have the worst customer service and they just out right lie.

My couch and chair has huge defects. Tried to get them to take it back the day of delivery but they wouldnt. Been promised it would be made right. My first payment coming due and I still have a broken sofa and chair I cant stand to look at. Going to try and contact the headquarters today

I went in two time to look at furniture once by my self the sale person Gwen was very nice and helpful. The second time with my wife. Everything went very well great looking furniture at a good price. That was on a Wednesday. Was going to get it that day, but Gwen told us that on Friday they was adding even more for the deal to be better. No interest financing for 12 month if I was approved.In Friday I got it done. Furniture on back order so will have to wait two weeks but that’s fine. I have been dealing with this company for over 30 year great people and great furniture.

The Danville Schewels got a guy in there (black light skin man) that runs me down every time I go in there. I hate that and besides he is disgusting with all that hair coming out of his ears. Somebody from home office please pull him to the side and tell him, this is NOT cute and it is disgusting and nasty looking please cut that mess!

Our salesperson, Pepa, was very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. My reason for only 4 stars has to do with the promotion that included interest free financing and free delivery. The financing deal was for only 4 months. No one that needed to finance a purchase could do that. The free delivery was to bring it in the 1st room they come to and leave it. No assembly. No checking to see if it worked properly.I think the company would be better off to not make either offer as they are very misleading.

We Visited Schewels furniture stores on May 26, 2021 Mattress Department . We were greeted by a clerk, named Trey, a very fine person who is familiar with all of the information concerning every mattress in the department. He was polite and quite professional. The checkout person was also a delight . She helped with all of important details for checking out with a pleasing personality.Overall, those who came in contact with us showed good respect for the customers.This was a pleasant visit to the Schewels furniture store and their products you purchased are the top of the line in quality. Used furniture being sold at new prices is wrong and so is selling roach infested furniture. Nothing but poor management and gossipers.

We got a super “deal” as the mattress was on sale too! Schewels has always been our go to for furniture so why not buy our mattress there too! The friendliest people to do business with they are very knowledgeable about their products and Gwen was very helpful and patient with me and my wife. We shopped around and found that they were the best price with the nicest staff. The only thing I caution is buying the extended warranty. Be sure you read the fine print and decide if it works for you. As me and my wife declined this because of the terms.

I called schewels looking for a futon or sofa couch. My mother is in hospice and I am her sole caregiver at the moment, so I have to be very careful of exposure. I immediately got through to a salesperson named Hope. She was very empathetic and understanding of our situation. She told me she would send me pictures of what they had in stock. Within 5 minutes I had a multiple pictures and prices. I sent several messages asking questions about several of the pieces, which where immediately replied to. She was AMAZING! She deserves employee of the month/year! She helped us in every way she could! I am so happy with our purchase, but the service we got from Hope was above and beyond!!!

Bought an electric reclining loveseat. Cost almost $1100 with extended warranty. It was on a Sunday said no one would help me load it. So it had to be delivered. The only available day was the next Saturday. I had 5 peaple at my house, the delivery man said no one home. At least 3 vehicles there. I was only available on Sunday so went back on Sunday brought some help talked them into letting me get it. Had it 3 weeks and it broke. Called on a Sunday said someone would call me about it. They never did I tried calling them again on a Sunday. Wouldnt answer the phone. So I went all the way to Danville va to talk in person got same story. Its been two weeks loveseat still in up position. Dont BUY THERE SORRY FURNITURE! AND DONT WAIST YOUR MONEY ON THE WORANTY. Its useless

Just thought we’d stop in and look around. Most of the furniture is lower or midrange quality. That’s okay...you get what you pay for. We saw a chair that my wife and I really liked. The chair isn’t built well, but we loved the print on the fabric. A pleasant sales person who was splitting her time with a couple of other perspective buyers said she could write up a ticket for us. We asked about buying two of the pillows with the same print. She said she couldn’t sell them because they went with the couch. We asked if they could be ordered and was told she’d check. Later she told us she still didn’t know but would call us by 6 p.m. to let us know. Four days later, she still hasn’t called. When my wife went to pay using her debit card, they said they’d need to make a copy of her driver’s license. When I asked why, we were told that “It’s store policy.” I encouraged my wife to just leave and NOT let them copy her license. If they want to check to make sure the debit card is hers, that’s ok but not photocopy it. We were buying a chair...NOT a gun!!!! my wife really wanted the chair, so she let them copy her license. I would never let them do that. That’s the last dollar they’ll get from us. My wife won’t shop for furniture without me, and I won’t be going back there. If the salesperson EVER calls about the pillows, I won’t be showing my license to buy those either. If someone can justify the need to keep a copy of a customer’s license, I’d love to hear it.

Everything was good with the exception of merchandise not available for immediate delivery. If a business sells an excessive amount of a certain item, then that item should be on hand and not have to wait 4-5 days to receive it. THATS CRAZY!!! Its like going to get groceries and the store doesnt have bread, milk, eggs!! Just crazy!!

I was highly disappointed with the customer service that I received. I had went into your store 3 weeks prior and found a sofa table I wanted to purchase however it was rather costly. I left my name and number with a salesperson in case it went on sale. She called the next week stating it would be on sale in 2weeks, one day only. Two days before the sale day she called again and said sale started today (Thursday) thru Saturday. I told her I would be in to purchase table. She preceded to tell me that the table was discontinued and she only had the 1 on the floor. Also bring my own blanket to wrap it in.I go to store Saturday morning (as I said I would) asked for her and she preceded to tell me all was fine just go to pay and she would have it wrapped. Well as I was seated at customer service I was told the table couldnt be taken off floor. They would have to find one in a box and have delivered to the store. They could not find a store that had one. Im sitting bewildered with all thats going on. Customer service were up and down and on phone and talking among themselves. I insisted some one tell me what was going on. The answer I got was they wasnt sure they could sell me the table!I had searched for a cherry sofa table for months. That is the only reason I stayed. I went through the whole story with customer service who said we are waiting on a phone call to see if I can sell you the table.It was the worst customer service I have ever received. I wont purchase at your establishment again and definitely will not recommend it.

Just know that if you buy a mattress you have to buy a mattress protector in order to make the warranty valid, and you MUST buy it from them, at a jacked up price. I had to pay 89 bucks for a full size bed protector.. not happy about it.Smells like a scam because the protector is overpriced,but if you dont buy it no warranty.I was going to but some end tables too, but the mattress deal left a bad taste and I purchased them elsewhere.

I have been a Schewel’s customer for years now and they have never turned me away or disapointed me in any way. The other day I got home from the hospital and came to the store to purchase a bed. I could hardly walk and was struggling to walk with the crutches.Then Barry saw how I was struggling and he went and got me a wheelchair. Not only that but he pushed me around till I found the bed I wanted and after completion of my purchase he pushed me to my car. Gwen was our sales person she really went out of her way to make sure we was satisfied. She was very friendly and polite. The reason I gave you four stars is because nobody wanted to work with us on our down payment. We were willing to have higher monthly payment to get a lower down payment that is why you only got four stars.

Had to exchange a defective mattress. Salesperson showed me what was available, even exchange. I had purchased a protective cover from them with original mattress. Salesperson said I would have to purchase another cover or I would not have the 10 year warranty. I asked to see this in writing. She couldnt do it. She called the sales manager over. He said I still had the remainder of the original cover warranty. She tried high pressure and what I think was misleading information. I think she was trying to take advantage of the situation because there was not a sell involved, only an exchange. She also said I would have to pay a $30 cleaning fee for the old mattress. Why??? Do they resell them? This mattress was 3 years old!

My daughter’s stove had caught on fire several weeks before Labor Day. We had actually purchased one from another place during the Labor Day sales, unfortunately after waiting several weeks, on the day of delivery, no call, no notification, we after several calls found out that it, our stove had been damaged. We would have had to wait another week! And after their uncaring attitude, we decided to check with Schewels. AWESOME, Great Price, Great Stove and available. They loaded into the truck, Only Wish we had gone there FIRST!! The only problem we had was, when they loaded the stove into the back of the truck, they didn’t use cord or rope to keep the stove from moving, I asked them Why they didn’t anchor the stove down and they said it wouldn’t move but unfortunately the first time that we took off from a stoplight it slid all the way to the tailgate and it almost flipped out. We had to stop and I had to buy rope to anchor the stove and keep it from falling out of the truck it scared us to death we almost lost the stove, scary

I ordered 4 Lazy-boy items in August and was told it would take 10 weeks to arrive which was fine. I was told 6 weeks ago 3 of the items were in. It was a surprise for my wife so we scheduled the delivery later hoping the other would arrive. The evening before the delivery was to take place, I was contacted and advised only the recliners were here. THEY SOLD MY COUCH to a more important customer. I advised the manager he was going to lend me a couch until mine came in and he agreed. Instead of Lazy boy they brought me a cheaper couch. This messed up about a 6 month plan I had to surprise my wife with new living room furniture. I have not delt with Schewels recently due to poor customer service, but gave them another chance and bought locally. Will not happen again.

Barry was very nice and patient. Jeree was a delight. I feel so bad that when I was leaving the store I stopped to look at mattresses and bought one from Pepa not realizing that Barry could have sold in that department also. She was very helpful also.
