I was given a cost of $500 for the repairs to my VW but when I got the bill it was over $700. Plus the fact that the service department needed to replace a part they broke which delayed my getting the car back.I sincerely hope someone reads this. It would be nice to get a quote and have the bill reflect that quote. I would appreciate a credit for the difference

My car was damaged while being repaired. My radio screen was cracked. The car was delivered without damage. The video made by the service technician never mentions any cracks in the center dashboard radio panel (which is very visible) but does mention I need new wiper blades. The dealership claimed the radio was recorded as damaged in the google doc (but this could have been changed after I made the complaint). Their reference put this as the first observation but as mentioned this could have been added afterwards and the video made no mention. They are now trying to charge me 950 bucks. Next stop VW USA complaints for resolution.

I have had 2 interactions with this dealership that have left much to be desired; 1 relating to a recent service experience and 1 relating to an attempted vehicle purchase about 1 year ago which caused me to go to another dealership.Service experience takeaway - price shop around the area, there are several red flags below!Red Flag 1: price went up from $150 on the phone to nearly $400 when I arrived. I called and was told that a 20k service should cost about $150. I booked a 20k mile service using the dealerships online booking and only included the factory recommended items. When I arrived things had been added without notifying me and the price was nearly $400Red Flag 2: They added common dealer up-sell items (fuel/oil additives, early filter replacements, etc) to manufacturer recommended services and justified it by saying this is the way that WE do a $20k service (direct quote from the person who checked me in). Anyone using this dealership should be aware that they add items onto the manufacturer recommended service schedule, in my case without notifying me, at additional cost to the customer, and were hesitant to provide a cost breakdown of the service, or to indicate what was added in on top of the manufacturer recommended service. They didnt seem to be able to book me for ONLY what the manufacturer recommends and I actually had to go out and get my manual from my vehicle in order to try to get to the bottom of what they were adding on.Red Flag #3: Significant markups compared to other dealerships. They removed some of the added service items and reduced the price to ~$340. Out of curiosity I called around to 5 other dealerships in the area and the AVERAGE cost of a 20k service was $222 and this dealership had started me out at close to $400Red Flag #4: Have so little attention to detail that they didnt even get my name right in their response to this review...**I cancelled the service and took my car and money elsewhere**Sales experience takeaway: If you are purchasing a car dont forget (and dont let the dealer forget) that you are the customer. After doing a test drive the dealership refused to do ANY price discussion via email, insisting that I had to come in. I was travelling for work, this was 2017 and email works just fine, and (as a matter of preference) if I am spending $30k of my own money I should be able to set the conditions for how we negotiate and I pay. I reached out to several other dealerships and ALL of them had no issues doing some price negotiation digitally with final pricing determined live and I bought my vehicle elsewhere... Perhaps this should have been foreshadowing for the poor service experience that I detailed above...

Its hard to judge a car dealership on their cars. We ended up buying a Durango over the Atlas. Its easier to review a dealership on their overall experience. We test drove close to a dozen cars to find the right car.No pushy sales people, loved that. However, all I wanted to do was test drive the Atlas. We needed to jump through a lot of hoops just to get into the car.Within 1 minute of getting out of the parking lot and putting my foot on the accelerator I knew that this was not the car for me, no matter the price. I wish we could have sped up the visit.

Brent is a consummate professional who emphasizes quality customer service. There was never any pressure. No hard sell.He simply did a good needs analysis, found out what we were looking for and helped us with courtesy and professionalism. No awkward pitches. Just honesty, integrity and fairness. On the first visit my wife and I shook hands and said we were going to buy the car. He put a SOLD sign on it. That evening, something personal happened to one of our planned income sources, and our picture changed. I felt bad because I had to call back to rescind on the deal, which made me feel very awful. He took it like a gentleman, with no negative reaction. On the contrary, he wrote us a nice card. After a month or two, matters got straightened out and we were back to the original plan of buying the car and we went back to Brent. We settled on the car we wanted and pricing was a no pressure discussion. It was a fair deal. Then, Brent went the extra mile on everything. He personally picked me up from the railway station on the day to pick my car up. There was a slight imperfection that required buffing a bit on the finish, so he took me personally to the detailer to get it polished out.I told him that I would like a full tank of gas. There it was. I told him that I liked rubber mats. There it was. He took great care to show me everything about the car.Brent made the car buying experience a pleasure. I hate hard, high-pressure sales techniques, and this guy is the exact opposite. I would easily recommend to anyone to see him, including single women who are often subjected to high pressure sales. Brent is just a good guy and he is successful precisely because he just deals with people in a nice, decent and fair way, with an emphasis on customer service.

I purchased a 2018 Volkswagen Atlas in April of 2018 from Damaris Beard. Damaris was just great to deal with. The sales manager was also very good. When I went to purchase the SEL Premium model that I wanted it wasnt available anywhere. The sales manager told me if you dont see it here dont worry we can order exactly what you want. He said it may take some time but we will get it. That to me was just great because I didnt have any issues with waiting. I went to the VW Dealership in Pleasantville in Westchester NY and the sales rep that I dealt with told me they only had one and that would be sold regardless if I bought it or not because not many were available at that time. I brought my vehicle in for service and was really impressed with the service there as well. I saw Damaris and we spoke for quite some time. She asked me about the vehicle and spoke to my parents about upcoming vehicles to look out for. When I decide to get my next new Volkswagen Im going back to DVW and looking for Damaris. Definitely a place to do business with.

This dealerships service center is an abhorrent joke when it comes to professionalism and common courtesy. I brought my Tiguan in for a failed timing chain tensioner and subsequent valve train failure. After considerable research and having a mechanic background myself I told them I was absolutely certain this was the issue, however I did not have the means to investigate further considering the extent of disassembly required for complete diagnostics. They proceeded to take the vehicle for a week before telling me that 1. my fuel tank was leaking and 2. was full of diesel, which obviously caused my engine failure. They informed me that because of these issues no further diagnostics could be performed until I paid for a new fuel tank and fuel disposal($2200). While I realize that this issue is not uncommon, not only was it untrue, but easily disproven with fuel receipts from the last fill up from the day the engine failed! After asking if they had done a test to see if it actually _was_ diesel, they said no, it just looks like diesel. What an absolute farce. After proving it was proper fuel (Shell, 93 Unleaded!!!), they finally proceeded with completing repairs to my car. A considerable amount of time passed and I picked my car up, only to drive it 2 MILES before the radiator hoses slipped off from not being clamped during reassembly, and the rear seats rolling around because they lost the bolts after removing the seats for a fuel pump recall. They then had the gall to ask me to DRIVE IT BACK to the dealership without any coolant. I know this is a long read, but this dealership is an absolute embarrassment. All of this happened between 12/2017-2/2018. The only reason I didnt post this sooner was because I was waiting for a settlement check from VWs timing chain lawsuit. Im convinced the mechanics here got their certification from Fisher Prices technical school for plastic toys and barbie cars. Dont buy VW, and for gods sake, dont service the one you have with VW of Danbury.

I’ve never been treated more poorly in my life. I miss driving out of my way to the new Milford Volkswagen. I have two vehicles, both with extended warranty. My 2014 beetle had an intermittent issue with a turn signal stalk. I brought it over to the service department who literally told me I was lying about the issue. Said they “couldn’t replicate it.” When I proceeded to show them the video of it happening, they said “the video doesn’t prove anything, we need to see it.” So I drove with no left turn signal for three months until it completely stopped working. One traffic ticket later and the finally agreed to fix it. The turbo on my 2013 Tiguan fails while it is still under extended warranty. Bring it in to find out that I will be without a car for 5 days and no loaner. Today I await a call from Danbury Volkswagen for a rack I ordered for my Tiguan. I never get that call so I call to see if it came in (even though they said it would be in on Saturday morning and call me to verify), so I call at 12:50. 10 minutes before they close. Only to find out that they closed early and I cannot get the part I desperately needed before a trip. I’ve owned 15 Volkswagens so far and I’m very saddened to say that these will be the last two I ever own. I’ve never been treated so poorly by people I spend so much money with. Don’t be fooled. They have great service until you buy the car. Once you purchase it, you get the worst service on the planet. Before buying your car, sit in the service department for an hour. You’ll see all the very upset people regret their decision to purchase from Danbury Volkswagen.

I got a car at this location in March of 2012. They said they serviced it with a fine tooth comb before us purchasing it, but the comb must have been missing quite a few bristles because the first night we had to drive it, the headlight brace in the light was broken so I was unable to drive myself to my early morning job. After they fixed that, the car stalled later that week and ended up needing an accelerator circuit replacement because it was unresponsive, so the car was in the shop for 3 days- with no offer of car rental. After that, the sunroof was leaking so anytime it rained there was water all over the interior of the car. After they fixed that, the computer kept saying that there were problems with washer fluid and air pressure and the notice wouldnt go away after solving the problem (a problem that occurred 4 times already). Then in December (7 months early) we got a letter in the mail requiring us to already pay car taxes- a service that is usually covered for the first year of owning a car! We had originally paid $240 for license and registration at time of purchase- this should have been covered for longer than what is apparently bare minimum. Then we went in to their shop for a routine check, and ended up spending $700 on a tune up and oil change! They topped off oils that we had already topped off ourselves, and charged us for screws (for where in the car??) to add a little money here a little money there for us to pay. We complained to corporate and they ended up sending us a gas card- we cant even use the whole amount on it! The last $10 is still sitting on there because no gas station is able to retrieve it! Also, most new cars are registered for a year- not ours! They only registered it for a few months without telling us, and just this morning- June in 2013, we get a ticket for not having a registered car! Save yourself the hassle, stress, WASTED MONEY - DO NOT DO SERVICE AT THIS FACILITY, IT IS A NIGHTMARE AND A SCAM. My coworker also bought a car here a few months ago. His nightmare is just beginning- 2 months after buying his car he already needed to replace his Axle, and they wont honor his 5 year extended warranty that he purchased at their facility!

She has been pro-active and prompt in all of her communications with me (both phone and email), and even arranged for me to have a loaner car this week as my cars part had to be ordered. Everyone Ive dealt with including the senior mechanic has been professional and friendly. Since the first visit two weeks didnt fix the problem at hand, I asked for and received a satisfactory discount on this weeks work, which was much appreciated. Being in the sales business i understand how stressful it can be as a salesperson, this is why I tried everything to make it easy for my salesperson John, but instead I was made to feel as if I was an interruption in his week. I searched for this 1 specific car, which they had. The deal was simple, match the price I received from a other dealership so I didnt have to drive and could buy locally. After speaking with John and him getting his MGRs approval we were ready to go. I asked to pick up the car Wednesday as it was my only day off, I was told no! Normally that wouldnt have been such a big deal but only getting one day off per week makes any other day detrimental as I would miss out on at least of half days pay. In any event I drove up to Danbury which was 45 minutes from me to pick up my new car excited, well that is until I got there. I was met outside by John would tried to quickly rush me into the finance office. I had never seen the car before and I wanted to take it for a quick spin before signing all the paperwork. Well, John didnt like that, after I had asked to test drive it, he huffed and said now you want to test drive it? to which I replied who would buy a car without test driving it? His response, plenty of people, its just a VW! Yes, just a VW in which I was paying $40k for, and one I was so excited for until now. He stormed off to get the plate. Now all the joy from the new car buying experience was gone, I felt rushed and just underappreciated. I still went on the test drive just uncomfortable now. After coming back I went directly into the finance office and a friend stayed behind in the waiting are. Apparently John was still seething from me asking for a test drive and needed to be calmed down by his manager who had a very heated conversation right next to the waiting area where my friend was waiting for me. ( I didnt find this out until after we got home) The finance manger was pleasant, we talked about where I worked, the new car etc. The only thing that bothered me was signing an odometer disclosure saying the car only had 23 miles on it when it had really 50. (not that big of a deal) The process was easy for him as I was handing him a check.Once I was done I walked over to Johns desk where he had the owners manual and 2 keys waiting, He didnt even bother to peal the sticker that comes on the new keys off for me, no key chain, nothing. Now comes the worst part, on my drive home as I was driving into the sun all I could see is a 12 long scratch across the windshield. Now In my correspondence with John I asked if the car was ever driven and had any scratches, even the slightest as I am very particular. I was told the car has been on the showroom floor so NO it was spotless. You could say it must have been missed, or was it? When I went to pick it up it was parked in a Handicapped spot next to a tree, no direct sunlight as the rest of the parking lot was nothing but sun... I feel as though he knew it was there and didnt want to tell me, hence rushing me and not wanting me to test drive it. ( just my Opinion). Now after I was home I gave the car a once over a little more carefully, which in hindsight I should have done before bringing it home ( STUPID ME). The car was not in a showroom, It was filthy, dirt on the dash and digital dash, another scratch on the passenger side window, looks to be from a key holder. All the windows where smudged. (YOU COULD STILL SEE WHERE THE FACTORY HAD ATTACHED STICKERS AND SUCH) Maybe some people dont care and may think Im nit picking, but when you are a car guy and spending over $40k of your hard earned money, its the salespersons job to make in a memorable experience, well John did just that but not in a good way...I would never go back there for anything else as long as John still works there. It says a lot about a business in who they have working for them..

I brought my car in for a 80K maintanence. The facility is clean and the waiting room is comfortable. Pete Rubino is highly qualified. He is efficient and his attention to detail is unmatched. When servicing your VW, be sure to ask for Pete as your service advisor. You will be quite happy with the results.

I had a 30K mi service done to my 2013 Passat. I did not see any of the work they did, but the car seemed to run smoother afterwards. I sat in the waiting room and waited. Initially I was told the service will be approximately 2 hrs, but it was little over an hour. The waiting room was clean and bright and the seats were comfortable. There was a large TV screen, but I did not watch that. I was immersed in my iPad. Overall experience was great. I was very satisfied.

My wife and I bought our Passat from here in 2006 and have been taking it in for service here exclusively since then. A+++ service staff and quality of work. Repair prices are very competitive and I have the confidence that the job is done right. Ive never been pressured into unnecessary service work, jobs are done on time (I often wait for simple oil changes), nice comfortable waiting room with coffee, snacks, HDTV, free internet and computer stations. They even wash and vacuum my car when service is done! Whats not to like? Ive been working with the same service tech (Pete Rubino) for almost ten years now and hes been great. Great dealership. Give it a try.

I am completely satisfied with experience purchasing a new car from Danbury Volkswagen. Throughout the process, I was treated with courtesy and enthusiasm by their entire sales staff. Each member of the Danbury VW sales team seem to love VW as much as I do. Especially Bryan Leblanc, who was a pleasure to work with. He was attentive, responsive and very knowledgeable. He found the car I most wanted at the price I was willing to pay. Although this is not the closest dealership to my area, it was well worth the trip. I will gladly recommend Danbury VW to my friends and family.

Danbury VW - and specifically Art Miller - provided a wonderful car buying experience. Art was a great communicator and kept me updated through the entire order process, and when the day came to pick up my car it was a hassle free exchange. Hopefully this is the first of many VW purchases at Danbury VW!

I have been a continuous customer of Danbury VW, located in Danbury, Connecticut, since 2000. My purchasing experiences have been excellent. I feel that I have been treated fairly by my Sales Associate, Joseph Haddad, and certainly have been given genuinely courteous and professional attention. Joseph has been my go-to sales person since 2006. Since 2000, I have worked with two Service Representatives, the most recent, Peter Rubino, for ten consecutive years. His outstanding dedication to keeping our cars up and running, and safe, has been the major reason upon which I have chosen to purchase VW vehicles repeatedly. I strongly recommend this dealership and service department. I imagine their sister Audi, and Porsche businesses, at the same address, do a fine job as well.

Last Week my wife brought her VW Passat in for routine maintenance. They told her that the tires were bald and so bad that she should not even drive home on them. The tires only have 25k miles on them and are warren teed for 50k. That made us go back to Townfair Tire were we bought the tires two years ago. They measured the tires and showed us that they were 40-50% wore right were they should be half way through their life. Danbury VW did us a tremendous disservice with this scare tactic. I can no longer recommend them to anyone.

Its a shame when you have to go half way across the state for another dealership because you have had bad experiences at the one closest. I have brought my two vehicle here before and there always seems to be extra charges for things and high labor rates. I was trying to get an alarm issue fixed on my truck. They gave me the run around and at that point I brought it to another VW dealership which had my vehicle up and running in a day or two. Fast forward for present day and I bring it in to Danbury, because the other place closed down, and I am getting charged 3x the amount of time that the book states it should take to find a fault and they want me to pay for the extra time they took. I spoke to another VW dealership across the state and agree that this is not my problem and I should not be paying more than what the book says I should be. Additionally, they also tell me that they are going to have to break a light to fix another issue behind the light and I would have to pay for that as well. Other dealership states there is a special tool so that you would not have to break it. oddly enough, this piece was recalled by VW but only for 2007-2009. I have a 2010. Odd how they recognize a piece that is faulty but only for those years. Apparantly, VW doesnt seem to think there is an issue with 2010, so why would I pay for something you have to break? End of the day, I am taking it half way across the state just to get all of this fixed so I dont get robbed again. I have been to at least 4 other VW dealerships for maintenance, this one is by far the worst. A shame.

Recently had my Jetta serviced at Danbury VW. My current service advisor Jesse Voss couldnt have been more accommodating. I didnt have an appointment, but Jesse attended to my needs immediately in a very professional and compassionate manner, making sure that I had a loaner car and he kept me updated with the analysis and progress throughout. The car was returned in a very timely fashion as good as new. This is my 5th Volkswagen going back to 85. I will continue to buy them and have them serviced confidently at Danbury VW. Thank you Jesse.

Went here for a 2nd price quote...and they immediately gave me the same price I received at another dealership, but the first dealership price was that Saturday because all his sales people were busy with other customers. His approach and delivery were so honest and upfront that I liked him and the dealership immediately. I knew this was where I wanted to buy my car from. Not to mention that the showroom is immaculate and attractive. When the car I was purchasing, a TDI, was labeled a No Sale, they professionally allowed me the time I needed to decide on my next choice. After many emails and trips late at night (AJ stayed past closing time for me several times), I bought the Golf Sport Wagon in gas. If I end up loving VWs I will return here always. Highly recommend A+++

Honest, informative, did the job and moreMy CPO GTI powered down in highway stride, two weeks after purchase from a VW dealership in lower NY. I had realized that I had the original owner’s service records and the same problem was reported over its lease. I was more than upset, very worried and felt that my woes were unaccommodated by the dealership of purchase.Danbury VW not only offered to help but showed true concern with my car troubles, more so then the original dealership. In three appointments, the problem with my GTI was identified and fixed. The issue with the car losing power literally was an issue that was unresolved for three years. Meaning, Danbury VW had the facility and resources to take of my car.I highly recommend Pete Rubino and the Service Staff for maintenance and repairs.

I have been dealing with Danbury VW since 10/26/2013. I did not want to write a review until I had some time pass.Excellent experience buying a car from here.Service department in Danbury (and all dealerships) charge more than regular mechanic shops to do regular maintenance on my Jetta but I DO NOT take my car anywhere else for maintenance even though I moved back down to New York again. Even after I had my car, I had to deal with the Service department and they are absolutely phenomenal. Plus they have comfortable seats in the waiting room if you want to wait for your car with free drinks and TV or they will drop you at the mall or your home while you wait. Thanks Danbury VW... you earned our loyalty. Thanks to:Bryan Leblanc (Salesman)Bryans Boss who made the process alot smootherMarie Lacasky (Business Manager)Jesse Voss (Service Dept. What a crap hole this place is....I was in the market for a 2015 GTI, and I got the run-around for almost 2 weeks. I had cash in hand, along with a trade in. They offered me 4 thousands dollars under the VW trade-in value. Youre probably thinking, oh, it must have been in poor condition... Nope! it was only a year old, in excellent condition. Actually, even for poor condition on Edmunds trade-in value was still higher than what this garbage place offered me. They are a bunch of weaseling, scamming liars. I ended up going to a VW dealer in Albany and got exactly what I wanted. Its unfortunate when dealerships take advantage of people. I completely understand they are business and need to make some money. But they shouldnt be greedy and put their reputation on the line just to make a quick few grand.I will say, I will make it a mission to let everyone I know that is interested in picking up a new VW to stay away from these people.

Salesman Greg Johnson charged me $110 to transfer the registration from the car I was turning in to the new VW. Old car registration was expiring in 1 week. So when I got the DMV notice to renew the car I no longer had I ignored it. 1 year later now, get pulled over for no registration as Danbury VW never explained I needed to renew my registration on a car I no longer had. Now I get to pay the fine $117, I get to spend all day at the DMV, and the $110 I wasted on the transfer was a sad joke that lasted a week.I asked Danbury VW to help and Tony told me to pound sand, go to the DMV, pay your fines, pay for the registration and thanks for the $110.Ugg. That was annoying. As to the car, the VW product is fantastic, and Danbury VW gave me more in trade in value than any other dealer. Service has been solid, and parts steered me to a nice set of winter tires so now my 2 wheel Jetta outperforms my 4wheel drive Honda in the snow.

Especially when it comes to cars, Im the type of customer that knows what I want, and the price I want to pay because its all about being prepared and knowledgeable. I shopped around about 2 weeks for a specific car but the trim was not very popular. From the first conversation with Bryan until today (when I picked up the car) the experience was pleasant and honest. Im always completely transparent with what I expect and I do not believe in wasting peoples time. There was no pressure with Bryan and he allowed me to provide my terms. I wasnt 100% sure he could even make the deal happen but in the end, he did. I drove about 40 miles to pick up the car and the process was smooth. Brian actually picked me up at another dealership where I returned my lease and drove me over to VW, not something they had to do. I completed all of the paperwork yesterday at about 5:00 PM to expedite the transaction today. The car was ready for me and we just had to finalize the paperwork. Unfortunately, someone on the staff had a loss in the family and it forced others to step in and help. Everyone was super helpful and kind. I would highly recommend giving Danbury VW an opportunity to earn your business. To expand on my review for Bryan LeBlanc, I wanted to share my experience with Sara as well. While communicating with Bryan during the week, it looked like we had a deal. Yesterday, it was Bryans day off and when I emailed him, I received a response from Sara within about 20 minutes! She handled everything yesterday to get the deal finalized and was knowledgeable and accommodating. When I met her today (with Bryan), she was professional and helpful. Simply a great team here at Danbury VW.

Do not take your car here to be serviced! Not only did it take over 4hours and $75 to get just an oil change done, they over filled the oil which caused damage to my engine. When I returned with my car and asked them to look at it they were extremely rude. They rolled their eyes at me when I explained my issues, and then told me that Id have to bring it in another day because the mechanics were going home in 30minutes and thats just not enough time to look at your car.I ended up taking my car to a local mechanic who identified the problem and fixed in 15minutes. My car will never run the same because of what Danbury Volkswagen did. For those unfamiliar with cars, it takes quite al bit of extra oil for the issues I had to arise, which goes to show how unknowledgeable these people really are. When I called to talk to a manager they only told me that they werent there and to try again tomorrow. If you value your car do not bring it here.
