It had a great assortment of asian foods some of which are rarely encountered outside of Asia. From hot foods to meats and fish it was a delicious display to create your own meals that are exotic and authentic. The shelves are stocked full with sales items clearly marked and displayed. My friend who is a bargain hunter was delighted with the many popular items that were on sale. With high quality and low prices throughout the shop there was little to find fault with. The small parking lot is frequently filled during the rush hours so it is best to shop early and on weekdays.
This Korean market has been here for years. The parking lot is more cramp now. The market looks clean, organized, and fully stocked. The Deli section has a bigger selection of prepared food now, though the taste is mediocre. The chicken dishes tasted dry, maybe because they have been on the shelf for some time. The sushi rolls were, disappointingly, not very fresh.I love the aisles of various Korean snacks, some of which are actually cheaper than what I could find at other Asian markets. At Kukje, you could pretty much get all the ingredients needed for Korean BBQ or hot pot.The vegetable and fruit section is very neat too. I was really happy to find a bag of organic purple sweet potatoes.
This is a expensive place. I agree that the imported food can be expensive for everything that implies but all the food being expensive is a joke. If you are buying regular stuff that is not from Asia try rainbow grocery or foods co. At least half of the price off. Parking is relatively easy. This store also is overcrowded
Butane purchase: running late 10pm closing hours..arrived 9:57pm..employee guy outside saw me..he notified front cashier...cashier guy looked at me and said only few minutes I ran in, paid, said thank you to both kind gentlemen. Gratitude to both men for understanding the dilemma. Compassion and kindness goes a long way in life. Blessings!
10-16-21:Came here looking for dried kelp and bitter melon because I was going to make a Korean bitter melon oxtail soup. Luckily, I found both here.I thought the store was just as good as the H Mart that everyone seems so obsessed with.Would definitely come back again for more Korean groceries.
Eat all the things.$1 day-old red bean bunsfresh producelots of kimchi choices!big bags of rice at great prices, beer specials and dumpling specials made my shopping bag heavier.
This is an strong Super. I was looking for a smaller pot for cooking, it was there, even brown, better color. The one I used for many years I did hit, it was cracked, but also it was white, no good. The price on the vegetables are lower than Safeway. So, whos better?
Everyone was helpful and I found what I needed right away. I wouldnt recommend shopping here for American items that you can find elsewhere for cheaper, but everything Asian has a great price that isnt too expensive for my budget! I really like this market!
Update 4/17/21:Since they’ve started using scented cleaning chemicals during the pandemic, it’s ruined the food they make there. I had to throw away the mung bean jelly because it tasted like cleaning chemicals. Literally $5 down the drain. And Crown Daisy greens I had a plan to help with a jelly. Will find another way to eat
Wonderful selection. A large variety of Korean dishes... pre-made grab and go entrees with rice bowls, yummy yam noodles, and dumplings or bean buns...yum. Dont miss the snack aisle. Great family destination for a new treat or favorite standby. I love the banana pop chips. Large variety. Always something new to find.
Bad customer service in the cosmetics area. The lady was so rude. Usually, the market has a young girl she is nice but the old lady she was really rude when I ask about a cream. You guys should change that lady.
Very excellent Korean supermarket! The store has everything I need and expect. Wide selection of kimchi, BBQ meats, seaweeds, Korean sauces and spices, seafood etc. The supermarket also has a great cooked food section as well as house household items. Highly recommend this store!
Kukje got everything you need and more. So lucky to live close to it. I will be hard-pressed to find something this extensive when I leave the Bay Area.
Love this place, great food to go but some of the aisles are so narrow (enough for one person).
The assortment is mind blowing. you could spend hours checking out all the items. the to go food was better than some restaurants. MUST GO AND LOOOOOOK!!
Alot of merchandises no prices and some in wrong places
My favorite Korean market. When I dont have time to make dinner, they have already prepared hot food. So good
On 8/3/21, I saw Cashier Number 5 yell at a customer and was being very rude. This happened at 8:45pm. The cashier was standing in #5 and he was a tall Korean guy wearing glasses. I think his name was J.H. KIM, he was unprofessional and worked very slow. He gave bad customer service and struggles to bag groceries properly. He worked in the night shift and was cashier #5.
Cheating fastfood shop!!!Ramen was Instant cup noodles!!!!!!!!!Cost 8.95$!!!!!!!Fry chicken r good n worthWont try ramen anymore!!!!
A lot of selection of ready to eat food!!! Love it.
The OG Korean market in DC. Offers great selections of meat, produce and asian households & beauty produce. Great food court & fried chickens!
Great selection. I always enjoy their hot food especially the fried chicken. Their marinated meat also make for a great and delicious bbq.
Theres been alot of new great changes to the food area. Loving the increase kimbap flavours. Parking is tough here during peak times. Come early in the morning and get your stuff and get out. Its one of the best markets in the area. I know h Mart opened up but I still like this store just abit more.
I love this place. Great place to get your fix of all things Korean, both hot food, prepared foods and dry goods.
Bountiful selection of essential ingredients and hard to find items; from a huge prepared food section with pickled everything, to a satisfying variety of fresh noodles and buns and meat for jeongol, and all kinds of packaged seaweed, powdered drink mixes, etc. Could easily compete with Ranch99. Minus one star for all the meat being frozen and a persistent fishy smell no matter how far you are from the seafood section. If you are okay with tons of preservatives for the chance of buying something nostalgic, every aisle has a treasure for you. If you just need staples that are fresh and taste great, stick to the first and last aisles. I am in love with the baked treats but they always close that section before I get off work!
This place is so bbn over priced for their take out prepared foods. Its been a long while since Ive visited, was in th Ed area and wanted to grab something to eat. I know prices have gone up because of the pandemic, but $8 for korean rolls. Very disappointing.
I love this place. Great food inside the restaurant.
I love Kukje, products are great and staff have always been helpful! Tonight was concerning. It seems a new worker was helping bag with the usual cashier I check out with. The usual cashier, she is always great and kind, but the new guy ran off after I asked if he can kindly wrap some bowls. Please kindly address new and all employees to be helpful to customers and their peers.
Love this place. You can find everything in this market.
Wide selection of Chinese, Korean, Japanese products, reasonably priced, helpful staff if you need it. Convenient parking
One stop place for all my Korean needs. Parking could be a challenge since this place is so popular. One of my favorite thing to buy here are the meat. They sell high grade beef and pork at a reasonable price.
Compact store but has everything you need. Large prepared food section with lots of banchan. Lines can be long but they move fast.
Many great things to purchase.
Busy place but got a good variety. Checkout was fast even though the place was busy which is greatly appreciated.
I like they have many Korean also Japanese products but after H mart opened I noticed their price was way too high. their Bulgogi had too much water not much meat(brownish) and sells by $/lbs. Hs has red and fresh meat and less watery and cheaper.Kimbap the roll sushi - they say its freshly rolled on the morning but fillings are already go rotten by the end of the day. Ive been buying those for 10+ years because it was tasty but always had to rush eating up. 2 rolls per pack are too much for me so most of the time I had to threw it away because it gets bad until next meal time.H had more fresh ones, I was able to finish them all and Im happy.Sorry but I dont feel like to go back unless I see a loooong line at H mart.Long time cashier ladies are too scary - they need to do whatever they want to do first, they gets mad it its interrupted by little questions. Thank you for nice and good customer service for young boys and girls newer cashiers.
Wide variety of selection of Asian food and products. Large selection of hot food/ready made food too!
Dropped by Kukje to get ingredients for jjamppong and ended up getting a wide assortment of snacks and prepared food as well. Prepared food is very good and prices are very good. Store is sparkling clean and checkout is very fast.
The Korean Restaurant inside the MarketOnce a week, I enjoy my meatless day at the restaurant with a tasty Soft Tofu Soup meal that includes 5 different side dishes, 1 egg, one bowl of steamed rice and hot tea. The service is very prompt and the price is reasonable. The spiciness levels from mild to medium to very are available for us to choose. The soft tofu is so nice and the deep taste of the broth come from the including seafood.Although I haven’t try their grill dishes yet, I can guess from the tempting good smell from other tables that they must be good too.I refrain from giving the Restautant my 5th star because their steamed rice can be improved by making sure that the rice is soft and warm and fresh. One time I did return the rice because I feel that it was rather dry and not fresh. For someone who has been eating rice all her life, that steamed bowl of rice can degrade the whole good meal. Finally, am I glad to have such good Korean restaurant close by my home.
Been coming here for 20 years so I have to give it 5 stars. It’s not perfect (like parking can be a pain) but great grocery store that usually has some bearded to find Korean food items. Try the premade gimbap- so good- and the bean curd one is vegan too!
My favorite spot to get korean tofu soup & bibimbab as well grocery shopping. Decent price for common Korean dishes. Never ordered grilled pork (galbi, bulgogi, etc) as they are expensive even for lunch. Around $16 ish per dish. Great selection of tofu soup & hot stone pot rice mix (bibimbab). The two items that I always order. Tried bento box before & love it. Better deal during weekday lunch. Ordered sushi few times but fishes didnt seem as fresh as most of Japanese restaurants. After satisfied your belly with yummy korean meals, you should walk around the supermarket. The restaurant is inside the supermarket. Love love love this supermarket. I buy brown rice, beans, & other grains here since found this place 5 years ago. Good selection of dried products, kimchi, rices, beans, salts, chili pastes, chili powders, you name it. Very great store if you need Korean & other Asian ingredients. The reason why I keep coming back to this store for dried produces because of the high quality of their items. They either made in Korean, Japan, Vietnam, Thai, or USA. Rarely see made in China, which I usually avoid. Not much on fresh vegetables & tends to be more expensive comparing to other Asian stores (ranch 99, May Wah supermarket, etc).If you nearby Daly City neighborhood & want korean dishes & buy goodies, this place wont disappoint you.
Love this place. True Korean experience with a huge selection of things. Ive never had a problem here. If youre in the area, go on in and check it out. You wont be disappointed! Also, check out their little restaurant. Amazing tofu soup and their chicken wings? Foget about it. Youre really missing out. A lot of Mexicans working there too so I feel right at home
Great grocery store! Parking can be difficult but you can get everything you need and get in and out in 20 minutes
A great Korean super market with lot of selections. Prices are reasonable.
Excellent Korean selection. Tasty prepared food. Fancy department store high end Korean Cosmetics. Also affordable Korean cosmetics & skin care lines/products. Good variety of vegetables. Stores within the store, such as the department store cosmetics section & the bakery. Fun snack products. Adequate parking. They all speak English. I just found out they have an Aritaum shop inside their store. It has Sulwhasoo, Laneige, & Iope! I am making the switch from Bliss, LOccitane, EO, Hermes, & other western skin care products to the advanced, natural, & proven Korean beauty systems. Aritaum is an international major K beauty & skin care store, & i am excited to make this transition for my skins health. Each time I see a movie at the nearby theater I have to shop here for Korean prepared foods & pick up Korean soaps & snacks, etc. Nice friendly cashiers and security guard. 1/9/20: I always enjoy buying prepared Korean meals here.
Awsome place. A little expensive for snacks, but worth it for new experiences.
Love getting the deals on crates of mangoes. Wide variety of groceries, good deals on produce, and many Korean specialty items.
Always busy and a bit frenetic. The cashier was extremely helpful when we couldnt find a couple of items. Outstanding customer service!
My grocery of choice. Fresh food. Take out. Groceries. Excellent selections to choose from.
No need to cook...their choices of cooked food is delicious...they have hot soups now...wow...and a lot more !!!! Big servings, too...yummy...
Has good selections of hot prepared food a nd Asian foods has takeout food to go and is clean shelves and aisles are neat and orderly.
Best little market to pick up a fresh lunch,
I mostly found everything I needed. The store was clean and the lines were quick.
Great selection of items. Well organized and stocked shelves. Staff is friendly and attentive. Parking is a bit difficult but it is because theyre so popular. There was a line of about 15 parties ahead of us to enter but it moved quickly. Overall very satisfied with Kukje.
They have everything i need and their precut meat is so great less work for me! Highly recommend!
My fav Korean market (well it’s the only Korean market for 100 miles LOL). They carry hardcore Korean products. Produce is fresh. Pre-packed to-go foods have plenty of variety. Just be prepared to spend $$$ because you cannot RESIST buying at this market.
Head over here to avoid the HMart lines. This place is the best!!
You can find everything Korean and many Asian grocery items in there. It didnt smell bad.
I wonder if they’ll lower their pricing a bit, now that H Mart off of Alemany just opened.
It would be helpful if I knew Korean
PLEASE TAKE A LOOK IN YOUR CCTV or whatever is it.The lady on Cashier #2 at (11:00 AM March 9,2021)Does not put the grocery properly just putting it randomly in the plastic bag kinda rude?Just putting it soft foods and hard foods mix together if you know what I mean? That lady is kinda really rude.
Before HMart? is Kukje. In fact i used to go to the Kukje store when they were located in Noriega street in the Sunset District in San Francisco.I would still go here if Hmart Hipster Millenials take over.I totally love this Market!!!
Its so cool, they have whatever you need. Food, drinks, even rice cooker and everyday needs in your kitchen.,
Now that Hmart is open, this smaller Korean supermarket is a fast drop in experience. This has a better selection of banchan items such as marinated bean sprouts than Hmart. Parking is still difficult and I have to park on the meter streets; $0.25 for 15 minutes. The cooked food section is better. I can see myself still coming to Kukje instead of Hmart.
Good selection of all thing Asian. Most staff are friendly except the old man at the fried chicken counter. He was impatient and rude with customers wanting to order fried chicken.
Good selections of hot/prepared foods, and really good variety of grocery items. This is the place you want to go to grab most of your Asian groceries, they have lots of imported snacks and drinks from all over, including Japan, and South Korea. I personally go there to get instant noodles, they have an entire aisle dedicated to them. But also just prepackaged meats for hotpot/shabushabu or KBBQ.
A great and friendly place to shop
Always an awesome place fir the familys
Go to place for Korean groceries. There are plenty of asian markets around, but I go here for their huge kimchee selection as well as great quality meats for grilling.
The store where I get my Korean foods and supplies!
I love the Korean massage bath towel they sold
A lot of good options for hotpot and korean bbq cut meat. A bit crowded to my taste though.
Large Korean market in peninsula and have a good grocery, But greeting is not
Parking can be annoying but the selection is great.
Korean Food and groceries. Very clean place to shop Korean staff.
1st time shopping here. I wanted to make KBBQ at home, so went here to buy proteins to grill. They have a good Good selection of proteins that are raw, frozen, or already cooked. Takes precautions for social distancing, and store not too crowded. No drinks allowed from outside. Good selection of cold side dishes. Prices are competitive. Would shop there again
The best deals on Korean foods in the Bay Area. I will definitely be returning.
Wonderful variety of goods and food market, pleasant staff, very clean store.
Great quality and fresh food, always. We found the hot pot beef to be the best quality around.Be careful of rush hour times. Lines will be long.
I was pleasantly surprised with finding what I needed and how convenient the layout was.
Fair price, lots of products
Best korean mart.Everything is there
We love this place!
Specializing in Korean items foods, household, make up a lil of everything. You want an authentic ramen pot like on kdramas you can buy it here. Trust me they have it all. Just be patient just have to look in every nook and cranny.$$$$
Great store, clean and the employees are always nice. Its always a plus that I get to buy snacks from Asia! The hot food you can buy are ready by around 9:3oish is great!
Clean and fast check out. You can find all sorts of kimchi in small package or big jar. They also sell prepackaged quick fix food to go as well.
