These pies are amazing! We ordered a key lime, a chocolate pie, and and apple pie!The apple pie slice had to weigh about 10 pounds! It was loaded with apples but absolutely wonderful! The key lime was so tangy but packed with flavor! The chocolate was creamy and rich. Each pie had its own unique flavor and it was absolutely wonderful!Did I mention they are using a pie drawer? Due to covid. Theyve made a few modifications to ordering pie and you had to order from outside. They them put your pie in a drawer and it is delivered to you. Simple, genius, and effective! Loved it!
The pies here are really good. So far Ive tried the pumpkin which was mostly like the regular old delicious pumpkin pie that everyone loves except they put it on a graham cracker crust which is delicious. I tried the apple pie today, and while delicious, Im not usually about all of the apple slices in apple pie... Its all about the crust and the goopy sauce for me lol. Here it had a lot of apples... But still good.
Good pies BUT pricey. For $6 per slice, youd figure theyd be a little more generous. Nope. Key lime was just right with its tartness and nice crust. Smooth Operator was probably the best one of the three with its texture and flavor. Dr. Love was a letdown. Red velvet flavor was light and couldve been more noticeable though the coloring/swirl was visually appealing. Factor in $10 or so for parking if you plan to make a pie run. Friendly employee and super fast service. Serving size, however, comes up short.
(Went here two days ago). My husband, brother-in-law and I were on a hunt for some sweet dessert. We happened to be walking by and decided to see what The Emporium was offering. Turned out that this place ended up, helping to settle our need for that sweet dessert!!! We got a slice of the NUTTY HONEY and THE DRUNKEN NUT. Both of them was LOVE at FIRST BITE!!! Definitely will be back for more pie.P.S. I was also impressed with how cute the packaging was and the drawer they have to deliver your order to safely. The wooden fork is definitely unique and adds a nice touch to the presentation.
The most amazing pie we have ever had! The pumpkin, bourbon pecan and apple! We grabbed them to enjoy later, and could not believe how awesome they were. We can’t wait to go back!
I heard you can’t go to Texas and not have a slice of Pecan Pie! I read “The 30 Best Things to Eat in Dallas Before You Die” and couldnt fit in all 30 but i selected a slice of pie and squeezed it in the itinerary as “breakfast”.First of all the hospitality absolutely made this place, the owner was genuinely interested in us and our holiday and gave us some tips for our next destination on the trip. The pies were absolutely delicious, just enough crust, sweetness and crunch. Huge generous portion size and massive choice of pies to pick from.Make sure to make this a spot of your Texas roadtrip like we did, and not just for the cute mural/neon sign insta moment.
My sweet tooth suddenly struck, so I decided to try Emporium Pies. Im not much of a pie eater but I must say it was perfect for my sweet craving. The pie crust was flaky, buttery goodness and the filling was thick, dense and slightly chewy. I had Hot Cake, a winter pie selection, with caramel on top that added the perfect extra flavour. Besides the pie, the packaging is adorable and the location is trendy and cute as well.
Got a piece of cherry bomb, Lord of the pies, smooth operator, and papa dont peach. All the pies were amazing with the exception of cherry bomb. NO FRUIT! Very disappointing. Just like a Jello-y filling. Yuk. All the other fruit pies were loaded with fruit. The crust was the best part of the cherry pie. Ill still come back but check the pies before purchasing. Just make a cherry pie with whole fruit cherries. Charge a little more for real fruit.
Awesome as always. Mammoth slices of delectable apple pie. Some hot tea complemented it nicely. Very friendly staff.
Get a slice of the Cloud Nine ( caramel butterscotch creme) or Dr. Love (red velvet chess) pies!! I promise you won’t be sorry! The quality and flavor of pies here are top notch. The space itself is tiny inside so get there early for your sugar fix. They also have the cutest front patio seating perfect for a warm spring/summer day.
A slice is enough to share, but because theyre so delicious I suggest you get your own slice.
What a great. Dessert spot. So...I had hit Pecan lodge right before and heard someone talking about this place so I popped next door to try it. So glad I did. Pies were fresh. No preservatives! Not too sweet. I wanted variety and since I was with friends we got four slices and shared! Lord of the pies a la mode really hit the spot. Must stop spot if you are in the area and in the mood for a tasty dessert
Unless you are going to eat it right then and there you should expect a cold soggy pie at the hotel versus the warm crisp flaky pie we thought we were gonna get. No dine in and insufficient seating. 100degrees outside. Pie shouldn’t be a pick up and go item. Bout laughed when she asked if we wanted ice cream to go.
Very very cute place, uses real flatware and plates and cups, unlike many bakeries I’ve gone to. Our favorite flavor is the mellow yellow
My wife and I split a slice of the buttercream gang, drop dead gourdgess, and the nannerz. We each had preconceived notions of what we’d like, and maybe not liking one. But after having all three, they all wowed and couldn’t be closer to a perfect piece of pie. Can’t wait to go back!
This place is divine! Super cute atmosphere in the heart of Deep Ellum strategically situated by our favorite BBQ spot. A perfect treat in between roaming the streets, shops, bars and other nearby restaurants in the burrow. I’ve had several and can never pick a favorite but the last time I was drooling over the red velvet brownie and keylime. They have pies on rotation of seasonality which is all the more reason to go and go often. Don’t miss checking out this little Dallas gem.
Nice little pie shop. The staff was friendly and the pie was very good. Try the apple!
God I love pie and wish I could eat here every day but I would be as big as a house.
Got two pie yesterday afternoon from the Deep Ellum Pie Emporium and the service was excellent. They made a small mistake, but rectified it and informed me before I even realized it just to make sure. Its hard to find companies that will stand by their products and services these days. Great job Pie Emporium! Oh, and the pies were excellent! I was the winner of the evening! Thank you!
Hefty portions. I got a pecan pie and a apple pie with ice cream. Might have to share if you get it with ice cream. Tasted fresh even though I went in the evening. Next time I’ll get a whole pie!
Delicious pie expertly made in creative flavors. Crust was exceptional. Well worth the trip.
I am completely obsessed with Emporium pies! I am on a mission to try every pie they make! The pies are something special and the service is always amazing every visit. If you havent been here yet you are so missing out! Ive tried mainly their seasonal pies so far. They are only around for maybe another week or so and then theyll switch them out for the next season. If you havent heard, their best seller is the Lord of the Pies which is a serious deep dish apple pie. I havent tried it yet but its definitely on my list!
A must. Our good friends from Dallas took us to this place and we always go when we visit. Amazing pies, fantastic service and this place looks like you are going into your grandmas house for a slice of homemade pie. The chocolate pie is by far my favourite. The wait when it’s busy is about 15min and it’s worth it. Go after dinner in the evening and walk in the area.
The best pies in town! OMG Ill probably never find anything like this when Im back home and Im kind of okay with that😂🤰🏻I got cloud 9 which is the second pic. That is so amazing and I HIGHLY recommend you try it. The first was a delicious apple pie named Lord of the pies😆This place is too good to pass up!
This place by far has the best dessert I have had in my life. The only thing this place does is pies and thats the only thing they need to do. The pies are a little pricey but are worth every penny. Each bite is pure awesomeness in your mouth. I had their Lord of the Pies (apple pie) and their pumpkin pie. I had the apple pie with ice cream which was phenomenal and definitely worth the up charge. The staff is very friendly and takes the time to explain each pie to you. The place has a cozy feeling but at the same time its tiny and depending when you come you may have to wait a long time. Nevertheless I promise this place will not disappoint!
I spent $40 on a key lime pie “in the lime light” for a friend’s birthday. I had their berries pie prior and liked it. When we tasted the key lime pie, it was almost inedible. The tart/sourness was unbearable, we tried to add ice cream but it was overall, disgusting. I was going to buy a pie from a local bakery for $15 but wanted to splurge on a place that seemed to be famous. For a 267% markup, you’d think they’d at least taste the filling prior to selling it. I’d stick to my local bakery and save the difference.
My go to is the Bourbon Pecan which is in a class by itself, but this Hot Cake and Coconut Custard are incredibly tasty. The coconut custard is creamy and light. The bites of toasted coconut are crisp. The hot cake (buttermilk pie topped with salted maple caramel) requires a moment of silence as the flavors meld on the tongue.
I have come out to Emporium Pies 2 weeks in a row. Although they are on the higher end of what a slice of pie would cost ($6) They are sooo delicious. We have tried Lord of Pies and Papa dont Peach they are both highly recommended. My kids really like the Lord of the Pies which is an apple pie. My husband and I prefer Papa dont peach which is peach and raspberry.
The best blueberry pie I ever had! It was chock full of blueberries perfectly sweet! The crust was just as delicious, particularly the almost croissant like edge. Its a little pricey but I would definitely go back again!
The Lord of the Pie (apple pie) was delicious. Not exceptionally outstanding, meaning the pastry was not perfectly cooked and flakey but certain above average. The house made ice cream likewise was good, had good texture and smoothness.I appreciated the apple slices being cut thin. Definitely helped make sure the apples were cooked without overcooking the pastry. The seating is limited and the outdoor seating is two seats per table, any company larger than two around the one table meant taking a seat from another table and leaving a lone seat.I definitely appreciated the service and the cheerful attitude of the servers.
The guy behind the window was friendly and helpful; however, that doesn’t make up for the high prices and overly sugary pies. Believe me, I have a sweet tooth and can appreciate even the super sweet cheesecakes at The Cheesecake Factory. But these pies go overboard on the sugar and end up light on the amazing flavors you would expect at this price point.
Only good things to say about this place. Great pies (as one might assume) with many options when it comes to flavor, texture, etc. Also, their tea was great. Not too sweet and very complex in flavor. Staff is helpful and friendly and will make sure you get the pie thats right for you. Venue is clean and unique. Had a few different pies...Lord of the pies is our favorite. Reasonably priced.
Was in Deep Ellum meeting up with friends and came into this spot. Ive had a pie from here before but didnt know where they were located and OMG they are all the way delish! I got the Key Lime pie and did it a la mode style. They are very generous with their delicious homemade ice cream! The key lime was not overly tart but still had a tart bite with a sweet backend, the ice cream paired great with it.I had to take some home to the family so I got the Red Velvet pie and the Smooth Operator which is the Chocolate mousse and so far is my favorite. The chocolate is smooth and silky and the flavor is not too rich how some are. Love this place and will definitely try their other flavors!
Very disappointed with the cloud 9 Pie I picked up from Main Street on Mothers Day.The pie looked liked someone stepped in it.Which is fine that can happen, but the pie also tasted gross. Not sure what happened all the previous pies have been Great!!!
Delicious pies!!! Huge slices, crispy light crust. Only down side is pies were not served warm.
One of the few dessert places that actually DESERVE a full 5-star review! We cant wait to go back and try the other flavors! We tried the Lord of the Pies and Drunken Nut. Both were excellent and the recipe was different, interesting, and addictive. But it wasnt *so strange* that it felt like the recipe was trying too hard to be different. And on top of that, the packaging was cute and appropriate for being slices of pies. The icing on the cake (pie?) was that during covid-19, they even had to go orders delivered through a bank-teller type of drawer to prevent cross contaminating from customers to the food! Were bookmarking this location and visiting every time we come in from there suburbs.
Delicious pies. What else can I say? This is a cute shop in Deep Ellum that you dont want to miss. A great selection of freshly made pies with chilled pies such as key lime in the fridge display or baked pies by the cashier. Service is great, fast and friendly. I ordered the drunken nut (bourbon pecan) and Lord of pies (apple pie). Both were really delicious with flaky pie crust. I guess one thing Im not accustomed to, is how sweet the pies are compared to other places. You literally need a coffee or tea or some beverage to balance out the sweetness. But if youre a dessert freak like me you just cant stop after the first bite. Yes the pies are that good! Mmm...
Indeed so, fine pies, the chocolate one is real good, most popular one I think and the apple crumble is also real good. Like the ecological packages and the wood fork.
Yum. Delicious pies. What else does one need to know?
Some of the best pies on the planet with excellent coffee to go with them. Highly recommend the buttermilk pie, apple pie, and The Nannerz.
Always a delicious place to visit. Their seasonal pies are unique and tasty. But sometimes you need a classic Apple pie!
Really cute coffee shop that sells house made pies. They change seasonally which is good because you can always try something different but bad because if you fall in love with something itll be gone in 3 months but overall highly recommended go have a good cup of coffee and a delicious slice of pie with really friendly people. They also sell full pies if youre interested
I have been to all locations (Bishop Arts and McKinney included) and this one was the hardest to find parking! I went on a Wednesday night and had to park three streets over. As for the pie, very delicious like all the other locations. At the particular one, I got the valentine mini pies and my husband loved them. Very cool and yummy idea.
The pies are good here. But the hot chocolate is what sent my taste buds on a ride lol. It is hard to find REAL hot chocolate, butt they have it! And they have homemade marshmallows 😋. You do however have to stand outside and order, but the times I went there was no line, and they have a heater outside.
The pies were delicious, wouldve liked it to be a little warmer when served a la mode though.
Probably one of the best pies I ever had, I came here with friends after a night of drinking. I had the smooth operator, a chocolate silk pie with pretzel crust. It wasnt too sweet but just the right amount, and the crust tasted like if it was a pretzel. Truly worth the price, great pies, cute little venue and great staff that take pride in to their pies .
The best pie I’ve had. Try it if you’re not a fan of pie, it could be that you just haven’t had a good one yet.
Very good, no it was definitely delicious. Just the slice was a bit smaller 😂🤣 dont leave Tx without a slice!!!
Get the Hot Cake!
Absolutely love their pies and am so happy they came to Deep Ellum! Its always a little busy but they line moves very fast and the great staff hustle. We ordered the Lord of the Pies ala mode and a special cherry pie with a cup of coffee. We loved both and will definitely be back.
The pies are okay. The service was good, and the prices a little high for a slice of average tasting pie. Dont take me wrong; the pies taste okay but theres nothing that stands out. The service is always fast and friendly.~Thoughts become things; choose the good ones! #elpostdelatia
Really good pies, can add ice cream on the side, this one was Lord of the Pies 🤤😂
Really yummy. Expensive but so worth it. The cloud 9 and Dr Love are amazing
Not what I expected, won’t try again. Apple pie was cold. Just overall not good.
Nice staff, good flavors
It is a lovely and cozy small shop. Pies were tasty. However I wish they could be less sweet. The coffee was strong, but I like it. Lol
Great location. The key lime pie is super sweet and refreshing with ice cream! I wasnt too impressed by the apple pie, but the service was great and the neon Pi sign was cool.
Tried the limelight and it was delicious! Love this place!
Omg, the BEST!! We visited the location in Bishops Arts District for the Nannerz pie and the Apple Struesel and then the following day, visited the Deep Ellum location for the Pumpkin w gingerbread crust and the chocolate pie. AMAZING!!
Great customer service and delicious pie. All of them are amazing and I will be coming back. Lord of the Pies alamode is wonderful
VERY friendly staff and oh my god tasty pie! I got the Cloud Nine pie and it’s 10/10 delicious! Neighbourhood is cute and hipster and the outdoor seating is unique with a beautiful graffiti wall
Fast service and delicious pies! Blue steel is a must try
We tried the Merry Berry (left) and the Hot Cake (right). Everyone really liked the hot cake. It wasnt too sweet and went really well with the Hot Chocolate and coffee. The Merry Berry wasnt bad but paled in comparison to the hot cake pie.
Are you craving a pie, a pie made with quality ingredients? Then I can safely say Emporium Pies will not disappoint. We have had their pies at all 3 locations and they never disappoint. The seating areas can get a little busy at times so if you want to sit and eat your pie plan accordingly to their slower hours.
DO NOT GO INSIDE!... That is unless you want to face relentless temptation by utterly delicious forms of pie. I use the term pie loosely as these are mountainous heaps of savory sweetness.I only stopped in to pick up a pie for work and ended up devouring a large slice of apple pie and a side of coffee while inside (this was my lunch hour by the way). Left my sense of self control and dignity at the table.Staff was pleasant and will NOT talk you out of buying a slice (I guess it IS their job though...).If you have made it this far in the review and still show up here... Cant say I didnt warn you.
Amazing pies and amazing staff
