Good food but..A very very Long wait for anything on the menu.Theyre lack of an ordering system makes it a circus to get an order right or in any kind of decent time.I myself will never return here again.There is better service not far from here.

I came for the special chicken salad but they were out. Got wings instead. They are so busy and delicious. The staff was friendly and the prices are good for what you get. Its always crowded and Parking is limited. The earlier the better.On my next visit, still crowded. I did get the salad, which was good, except for the bone and grisel chopped up with the breast meat. And my lettuce was brown. We left this time with half our order because of the lack of organization and communication.

Finally, after telling myself for months I would stop by and get the chicken salad. I made it my mission to do so today, Im glad I did. I was Pleasantly surprised. Their peak time is 6 p.m. and of course I got there a little before 7, it took us a minute to find a parking spot (mind you this is a convenient store and not a restaurant), try not to go after 6 but if you must their open till 8. Once inside, the line moved quickly. Courteous staff, loyal patrons (knew that by the interaction) and the food was reasonable and GOOD make sure YOU get your bone when asked if your ordering the chicken salad. I was stuffed, fresh veggies, seasoned meat, and extra chicken on the bone made it a whole meal. Get you some wine, and unwind with good music and friends. Im definitely going back to try other food samples, they serve breakfast too which is a plus. So they can cater to all your food desires. I cant believe its been a year since my last vist (been twice before both times they were closed), the quality and quantity of food is still the same so is the cramped enclosure and terrible parking. Score remains the same, you want good, hot food at a reasonable price and dont mind waiting GO, you wont regret it. I opted for the smaller salad (it was the daily special) and it was just as good as the larger salad AND I wanted the bone, I also tried the hot link sandwich hard cooked (burnt) I didnt care for it, not sure what type of links they use (had those links before other places I just dont like that kind). Overall I still LIKE eating here.

When you go to the back to the kitchen. They prepare your food quick and you get your money worth.

This rating is for the restaurant. Dont get me wrong, theres nothing wrong with the store but the food is what I come here for. If you like good chicken, this isnt the place for you. They only serve GREAT chicken. The small chicken salad is more than enough for me in 1 sitting and I can eat ALOT. The portions are generous and you cant go wrong with anything on the menu. I do recommend calling ahead and checking maps to see how busy it is before heading out to get your order because if theyre busy, they are BUSY and you could still wait for awhile when you get there but its definitely worth it.

This hole in the wall food place was suggested by a group of fellow Jurors that I was a part of today and let me tell you that although this location is primarily a convienience store, in the back of the store is a kitchen that has some of the tastiest fried chicken Ive ever tasted! I do wish that they have a drive thru because the inside was packed with people! The reason Ive given four stars is that the location is in a very rough part of town. The chicken tenders that I ordered was a very generous portion especially for its cheap price. But if you are willing to enjoy something different and if you are willing to dine on what the locals in the area enjoy, then go ahead visit Big Daddys Convienience Store, and head to the back where the Kitchen is located!

One of the best bugers Ive ever had. That grill is seasoned perfectly. I used to deliver the groceries there and it was always my last stop. I had to get one every time I was there.

Ive tried the chicken salad and its good. The real kicker is the catfish fillets. I wouldnt have suspected this place would have good catfish. Its better than some restaurants! A convenience store with food this good? People, its no joke and all talk. This place should not be overlooked. The parking is terrible. But, keep in mind, this is a neighborhood convenience store. I recommend you call ahead. But, if you have time to wait, you wont be disappointed.

I love the chicken salad...I walk all the way down to Big Daddys for their chicken salad. The serving size is huge. The large is enough to feed 3 adults. The only problem I have at the restaurant portion of the store is the attitude I get, but I am one of the few white customers and having lived in South Dallas for some years now Im used to it. The grocery store employees are always nice and helpful. This store is farther away from me than Emily Grocery, but I dont mind the walk because its a much more pleasant experience. At least they treat me like a human!

I grew up on this place its just as good now as it was 40 years ago! I only gave 4 stars because they did change the original chicken recipe that they used to have

Normally I would give 10 stars!!!! I love this place but on today Monday Oct 10, 2019. They took my order n was very RUDE fulfilling everyone elses but mine. I stood there for a few minutes, someone else came in. They took their order and mine never came up. They never called initials!!! I ended up going to Emilys down the street and around the corner, where the breakfast sandwich is almost 4 dollars n definitely not as good!!! Thanks allot BIG DADDYS SMH

Wait......hold up now! Not only do they sell chicken salad, but they sell cheeseburgers, pork chop, fish, chicken and link baskets, pancakes (mmm), blts, and chicken strips. Their chicken is awesome and not like Rudys where you have to ask for extra seasoning and the chicken is still horrible. Their chicken is seasoned all the way through. They are not expensive either. The large chicken salad is only $9.99. On Saturday and Sunday it is on sale for $7.99. Believe me it is well worth it. I usually buy a large bag of lettuce or salad mix from the store to add to this and that usually feeds about 8 people. Lets talk about their pancakes because many people dont, THEY ARE AWESOME. Dont you dare order more than one. That pancake is about the size of the container and about a1/2 inch thick. Their blts are good. Their breakfast sandwiches are great. They have a breakfast pork chop plate that is good. Their cheeseburgers are great as well. I forgot that they have a ham salad, say that salad is good. Now I will tell you, I have yet to try their link basket and fish. I want to, but every single time I say okay, this time, I call my order in and man I always order a daggum wing basket or a cheeseburger basket. Its so hard to deviate from your regular items. I love their food and their customer service is great. If they know you, they will greet you by name. One last thing be aware of going here during lunch time, they are seriously crowded. Even with a call in order you will still have to wait. This store stays crowded during lunch hours.
