I have ordered cakes from Society Baker on a regular basis over the past 3 years for company events. I usually order their signature cakes, which are always perfect. But every now and then, Ill order a custom cake. They never let me down! I give them as much detail as I can, provide pictures, if possible, on the design, and they implement it. Each time, they nail the design! Not only are the cakes so so beautiful on the outside, they are also sweet and moist on the inside. I included pictures of the last three custom cakes we ordered from them. As you can see, they do such a good job. If you are debating on the price, it is worth every penny. From the delicious cake varieties & amazing cream cheese frosting, to the decadent (regular & gluten-free) brownies, beautiful petite fours, and the perfect M&M cookies & Lemon bars...(just to name a few favorites ☺️)...this bakery is by far one of the best bakeries in Texas!We have placed many orders with Society Bakery for special events/parties over the years & have never been disappointed. Folks always ask where the sweets/treats came from! 🥰A recent custom- cake order we placed for a private event (chocolate cake & pink champagne cake flavors with plain cream cheese frosting) was HUGE hit, and everyone commented on how delicious it tasted!I highly recommend Society Bakery for anything they offer!

Theyre unreliable, undependable, they have an ever DEcreasing assortment, and the whole Covid thing has only amplified their operational failures. This place is dead to me. I tried to go in and get cupcakes and they said I had to order them over the phone. I ordered some, then picked them up and they were not fresh cupcakes they were frozen. I think Tom thumb has better cupcakes than these expensive frozen bits that they gave me

I’ve had great experience from wedding cakes to birthday cakes. A an error on my last cake but willing to give it another try. I’m hopeful that it will turn out great!!!!

Let me just say this about Society Bakery. I dont ever or I had never ordered a custom cake before. Its pricey to do. I understand the amount of work that goes into it and everything but it was a little outside of my budget. That being said if you do a custom cake protect your investment by using Society Bakery. I asked these guys to do something they had never done before and they delivered like you wouldnt believe! Ill try and put some pictures in here. The staff was incredible! there is one girl Im sorry I cant remember her name she took my order she was amazing I want to say her name is Jennifer. And then there is Edith and Jessica and the star of the show that made the cake is Becky! They said theyd never done anything like this before and youd never know. I couldnt be happier with this cake. I never thought Id be so happy to see a cake. But it turned out so perfect I just cant wait to show it off. Thank you so much Society Bakery! If ever the need comes up again I will definitely be back. However, that doesnt mean I wont be back to get more of those bread pudding cup things! Good grief those are good! I havent tried anything else but if its even remotely half as good as those bread pudding things then all of your stuff is amazing! Thank you again so very very very very much! Im sure shes going to love it!

I have been a costumer of this establishment for 10 years. Today I placed an order ahead was told order would be ready at 2:30. Drop by at 2:30 to pick up told it’ll be five more mins when husband called to pick up. (Order was in his name) 15 mins pass by call 20 times to pick up for order quoted ready at 2:30. Order still not outside. Husband and I had to leave to pick up our kids from school in Mesquite. Called again for a refund was told no refund could be made only store credit. I said no I don’t want a store credit since you can’t even have orders ready on time. Was told owner had to process a refund and was told by manager she didn’t believe my story. The audacity!!! I have screenshots to prove you can’t answer a phone. Will take business elsewhere I wanted to surprise my kids because we just went through a loss of a grandparent. Terrible management. Furthermore got stuck driving back to go pick the order up because they can’t refund money. Just take your money not giving a single eff about their customers. Waste poor time management, lack of empathy for customers, and can’t even admit fault.Update: get there call them for the 22nd time and say we are here to pick up management said that someone had taken our box of cupcakes. They are giving away free baked goods y’all! I told her this is how she runs an establishment? They have no clue how to deal with consumers. Ridiculous!

Absolutely delicious, decadent baked goods every single time! I’ve never had a bad experience with Society Bakery, their cupcakes are absurdly delicious and they have a wonderful variety of flavors! When I was going through chemo at medical city, their cupcakes were the special treat we celebrated with every time I finished a protocol. To top it off, the owner, Roshi, is incredibly sweet. I’d give more than five stars if I could!

I have purchased cakes from SB for many years now. I took a break when we moved but recently got a cake for my husbands bday. The cake was beautiful! However, it was icing overload. The cake was big and huge and when I sliced into it, I quickly discovered why. Tons of icing! This was only my 2nd present cake (square) so maybe thats the norm. The next time I will get my traditional round to see if thats the case. If so, I would truly recommend less icing and more cake please!

My experience with Society Bakery was nothing short of pleasant. They were quick with their responses and the custom cake was EXACTLY what I wanted! A special thank you to Jamie for the delicious red velvet cake with cookie dough icing; my boyfriend LOVED it!!

Awful, I ordered 1 cherry pie and one chocolate pie. The crust on the chocolate pie was so hard that you couldnt cut the pie with a fork, my guests had to use a knife or just eat the chocolate part and leave the crust. The cherry pie was so runny (I have a photo but it didnt post for some reason) that the filling spilled everywhere, even though I was really careful with carrying it home. You couldnt even serve a piece of pie without the filling going everywhere. I was hosting a Dallas Womens Club (I wont say which one) and this could have led to many new orders. No one was impressed and wanted to get the information except so that they could avoid ordering from them. Just horrible...

Last week I bought the chocolate chocolate chip cake with the chocolate cream cheese icing. It was one of the best cake I have ever eaten!!! Every bite was moist and delicious!!!! This was the third cake we’ve ordered and we’ll definitely order again!

It was so tasty. Will surely make a return trip. This place has a cool design. Feels like a cafe in Phoenix that I enjoyed visiting.

I absolutely love every single cupcake they have! Well maybe not the carrot cake and thats only because I hate carrot cake. Pink Champagne is my number one. Their cake is so moist and flavors are exceptional. The staff is so friendly and always accommodate when I walk in want a dozen or more cupcakes and have no clue which flavors I want. I will definitely be back again.

Ordered cake online, no email or phone confirmation, so I call 4 hours later and Im told they dont do orders within 24 hours (was 30 when i placed the order and doesnt state that during the ordering process), but i could come in the following day and pick one up. Go in the following morning, only a vanilla cake available and Id have to return at noon to see if theyd have a chocolate one. No thanks, took my business to Kroger and got a delicious personalized cake within 5 mins for half the price. Result!

Called at 8-am to see if they could accommodate a birthday cake to pick up in 11 days. They said they had availability. I told them Id seem that at lunch time, they said see you then. I left work downtown, came in to order, and they tell me they are booked. Shame on you, will never ever be back and will tell anyone who asks to use someone else.

WOW! I talked to the most amazing and kind employee on Monday (I think her name was Roshi?) when I called in stressed about placing an order. I had just returned to work after being out with surgery, and I was tasked with finding a Dallas Stars cake for our CFO. I called a few bakeries where most of the girls rushed me off the phone, told me that the turnaround time was unrealistic, and a few of the people I asked for quotes from never even called me back. From the moment I talked to Roshi at Society it was a game changer. Not only did she NOT rush me off the phone, she had so much knowledge, was so helpful, incredibly kind, and now I am ecstatic to be picking up my order today at lunch time. I wouldnt even consider going to any other bakery now after the wonderful experience I had. We also have lots of corporate events, and Ive definitely found our new company go to bakery. So grateful for Roshi and the Society Bakery Staff!

First I should say that the cupcake itself was tasty, if a little pricey. If that’s all you’re looking for, and you can afford it, then have at it.Unfortunately I was looking for a place to chill and read. The only reason I found it was because it was listed under coffee on google maps. Looking outside, with its multiple chairs and benches, you’d think that could happen there. You’d be wrong. I asked the front desk person if they had any drinks and she responded rudely “we have tap water.” I could clearly see a coffee machine in the back, but I wasn’t going to order a coffee from her if I was imposing on her. Lesson learned: get a cake here, but nothing else.

We had the bread pudding in rum sauce, which was ok but a little hard, probably because we ate it cold. Might have been better heated???

I love this place. Definitely worth a return trip. It has a great feel to it.

I treated myself to a red velvet cake for my birthday. After losing 14 pounds over the last 12 weeks, I was super excited to try the red velvet my favorite cake since I have not eaten any sweets over the 12 week period. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed. The icing was good, but the cake was not fresh at all and actually tasted like it was a week old. I could have purchased a cake at Sams or Kroger and it would have tasted so much better and I could have saved A LOT of money. I will never come back.

My negative experience is a result of staff members’ poor communication and inattention to detail. I gave specific instructions verbally and in writing, and provided an image of the desired artwork. I made multiple attempts to reconfirm details, but staff members don’t answer the phone or respond to email. As a result, the artwork on my cake was incorrect and trim color was wrong (I requested and provided artwork with yellow trim, but instead got pink and white). The quality isn’t even close to cakes posted on their website or social media and the entire experience failed to meet minimum expectations.I definitely recommend shopping around before using Society Bakery.

Worst experience!!! I am beyond disappointed and in a market where there are so many tasty bakeries...I won’t go back to Society!I sent my order in via their online form, they confirmed it but when I called they said “oh we got busy and decided we won’t do it now”. I have the voicemail as proof! It wasn’t even a decorated cake! They said they would do cupcakes though. How is that easier???I wouldn’t have agreed except it was the bday persons request for pink champagne flavoring.I pick up the order today...wish me luck that they aren’t messed up or dry!!!

I purchased a rose teal ombre cake from Society Bakery in the flavor of Italian Cream and it was delectable and exquisite. The design and flavor exceeded my expectations. Not surprising why this is the #1 place for cakes and cupcakes.

Society made a wonderful chocolate sponge Barbie cake for my daughters 5th Birthday, it went down so well, was supposed to serve 30-40 but 27 people devoured the whole thing, as it was amazing! had so many compliments. thank you guys, will be back next year!

We get our kid’s birthday cake here every year, and it always gets high praise. This year they made us a Sensei Wu cake (from Ninjago). The art was incredible and the taste, of course, was amazing. Stop in for a cupcake. Grab a cookie. Order a birthday cake. Whatever. Just go. It’s so good.

This review may be biases. I feel that we may have gone too close to closing time because their shelves were really bare for a bakery. We arrived at the location around 4ish and there were only 3 types of cupcakes and no chocolate chip cookies.

I picked up small pink champagne cake. I had high hopes. It was so dry, with no flavor and salty icing. I am a good baker and know a good cake. This wasn’t good but it was very pricey! You’re better off going to the super market and making a box cake. I am giving them only one star because I called/left a mess to tell them about my dissatisfaction and no one ever called me back. Terrible customer service! I won’t be back!

My mother and I went in yesterday(Thursday) to see about ordering me a birthday cake. First thing we found odd was that they are now closed the 1st and 2nd when they weren’t last year....but that’s not a huge concern even though my birthday is the second. Secondly, the women helping us came off rude and very unacomidating. We needed a small 2 layer cake that feeds 4-6. She said they needed “2 weeks” for that cake usually, when this has never been the case or a problem . She kept saying that they are slammed and said we can’t do any decorations or special requests on my cake....now hesitant, we decided to still get the cake and all I wanted was orange icing and happy birthday written. We were told she absolutely could not do orange icing because that’s “artwork”. Orange colored icing isn’t artwork, nor does it take a lot of time to do. Ridiculous, and she was short with us about it. That really bothered us so I’m now getting a cake I don’t really want but it’ll taste good. Main point is, I guess they have new management because the customer service is awful now. After this cake we won’t be back for a while.

Awful customer service. They have never answered the phone. Left several messages with no response. Ordered online with no response. Finally drove there and a very rude and smug red haired girl thought it was funny I didnt get a response back. They will never get my money again.

Called in to place a christmas order for a collegue, service was lacking, the lady on phone didnt seem eager to complete the order. Asked her for Christmas themed cupcake or cake, and she relied we dont do that. If youre a bakery, and you cant compliment a holiday themed cake, I beleive youre in the wrong business. :) It just want a good experience.

This is the first negative review I have ever written for a business, so you know it has to be serious. Society Bakery used to be my go-to place for custom birthday cakes and cupcakes for events, but I feel as though over the past year something has changed. I had communication issues with my 2 previous orders, but I kept coming back because of the product. Just recently I ordered custom cookies for my 3-year-olds birthday party at $4.75 a pop, and they were literally the worst baked good I have ever tasted. I had party guests (who felt comfortable enough to share) tell me that they were terrible. It was as if they had left out a few ingredients in the process of making them. I emailed them and still have not received anything back. I dont know if they are just too busy or what, but I will no longer be a patron and will not be recommending them any longer.

I am horrified at the customer service I received today. I placed an order for a ready made cake over the phone this morning and said I would be by later today to pick it up. I offered to pay over the phone to hold the cake and the gentleman said that was not necessary and took my name and number. After driving across town to pick it up for a birthday party the lady behind the counter told me they sold my cake because someone walked in and wanted to buy it so we have to sell it. Aside from the fact that I offered to pay for the cake over the phone this morning, I did not receive a phone call or any notice until I walked in the store to pick it up. It was a complete waste of my time, they were unapologetic and now I have no cake for my birthday party this evening. I have called the store several times since I left to speak to a manager and no one will answer the phone. Totally shady operations and they couldnt care less about the customer.

Beyond upset!!!!!!!! You have been my to go bakery for many years. I am extremely disppointed, I ordered a cake on Thursday online, after not receiving a confirmation or a call to confirm. I called Friday to make sure my cake order was ready to go. Someone answered the phone and confirmed my order will be ready for Saturday. She confirmed details of my order so Im not sure why they failed to make my cake. I showed up today for my husbands cake and nobody knew where my cake was. I spoke to the manager who didnt really give me much of a solution. He stated he knew who that young girl who made the mistake may be etc!!! (Not like that was going to fix my issue). It is my husbands birthday dinner tonight, he really wanted your specialty banana chocolate chip cake and now I have NO CAKE!! Dinner is in 5 hours!!!!!!!!! You should definitely hire people who are more responsible. I have referred many people over but I will now consider a different place.
