As a former coffee shop manager I can confidently say these guys and gals are killing it. Their espresso is dialed. The shots are always perfect. Not only that, but every employee is knowledge when you want to ask questions and learn more about coffee. They roast their own, and do a great job. Their pour overs are super flavorful.

So lucky to have this place in my neighborhood! They sell great beans at a good price, the staff are friendly, the aesthetic is warm and comfortable, and the daily rotation of pastries, treats and other beverages is really good. By far the best in Oak Cliff (and, yes, Ive tried them *all*).

Obsessed. I live a couple blocks away and this is the legit coffee spot of my dreams. Y’all know your stuff— coffee, espresso, beans, bread, chocolate, design, everything. Truly a gift to be able to walk over and get beans ground up for home. Also, your brownie. WOW. Y’all are a blessing to the Cliff— love y’all! ❤️

Ive lived in Dallas for over twenty years and been to coffee shops all across this city. This is my favorite. The staff are the nicest of anywhere Ive been and the coffee is the best, especially if youre looking for an espresso. Make sure to try the iced long black. During the pandemic Ive always felt that staff was courteous, kept things clean, and were safe.

One of my absolute favorite coffee shops in Dallas.Very neat vintage decor, everything to do with coffee. The staff is really kind. The menu is small but with great choices and items that complement all of their coffees.I ordered the house toast with avocado and tomato and I was very pleased. It was a simple yet delicious bite. The price was extremely modest, too.I will certainly have breakfast here again. I really enjoyed it.

Coffee was good and bread for the avocado toast was amazing, but packaging a toast with a spread on top in a paper bag a la Starbucks pastry is just not that smart. Paper bags are fine, just obvious why it isnt here. Also, a lot of employees werent wearing masks. I havent factored that into the score, but keep that in mind if you have concerns.

The Coffee and Staff are amazing. However, the owner loves to walk around the entire place not wearing a mask and looks at you funny when you tell him to back up and put one on. That was even before the state mandate was lifted. Would be an easy 5 stars if not for the owner.

One of the best coffee shops in Dallas!I learned about this place from the Reddit community /r/Coffee during a discussion about the best coffee shops in Dallas. Im very familiar with the shops in the north DFW suburbs (Plano/Frisco/Lewisville/etc.) but I hadnt explored south Dallas. So glad we did! This place is a haven for coffee enthusiasts as they have a great selection of beans to choose from (it helps that Oak Cliff Coffee Roasters is next door, although they offer more than just their beans), lots of brewing equipment to browse, and even some coffee books to read/buy (including Scott Raos Everything But Espresso). They also have a GORGEOUS Kees van der Westen Mirage 3 group espresso machine that is a joy to stare at.I had the Van Buren (their name for a cortado) and flipped through Scott Raos book while contemplating what a unique experience I was having in relation to most other shops. This is a place that will, at the same time, indulge coffee nerds and completely satisfy those whos passions lie elsewhere.

I think this is the best third wave, light roast coffee weve had in Dallas 🙌 The milk is nice and thick and the espresso is flavorful yet *not* dark. They sell some baked goods as well which at least smelled delicious (will need to get some next time). They also sell chocolates, milk, and other goods. Beans seem to be roasted on Mondays and Wednesdays (@Davis Street: please correct me if Im wrong!)You can order ahead or order at the counter. Limited outdoor seating is available and there is street parking in front/nearby.

I liked my drink but it’s not really a place to study or work. More of a social scene and they have no WiFi. Just sharing this because I did not see other reviews mention it. They mainly lost stars because they seem to not care about COVID...they are still serving customers the same reusable cups during a pandemic and a lot of the people in the back were there with no masks...? Glad I tried them at least once.

We had such a great experience here! Just stopped in because it was near our AirBNB and had pretty good reviews. We almost left because they didn’t have a very extensive food menu (we went for coffee and breakfast) but then one of the baristas greeted us and went over the menu with us and we ended up ordering avocado toast with soft boiled eggs (two big pieces of organic, local, freshly made sourdough!) and yogurt with house-made granola and it was more than enough food. I ordered a cortado which on their menu is called the Van Buren- it is served with sparkling water and a small piece of high quality chocolate- for only $4. The customer service was so great; everyone was super friendly from the barista to the cashier to the manager who was sitting at our table conducting an interview. Such a nice vibe, spacious place with amazing food and drinks. We will definitely come back if/when we ever find ourselves in Dallas again!

The place has no internet and no outlets, only one at the bar so you will be standing if you need charge something .Everything is made out of wood, so you will be seating in hard chairs no cushions. Very uncomfortable. The bus in the back is cute but the tables are fixed, you can’t move them and their position is awkward in reference to the seats, so the tables are more looks than functionality. You can’t really use them. The painting design on the wall are really generic and outdated and their products are over priced for the overall comfort and quality of the place.Their service was attentive and the staff is nice, but I would never come back here.

Having had a coffee that was just okay at The Butcher’s Daughter, we needed something with more depth of flavour and complexity. While there is an air here of “we know we are good” I’ll take it. The coffee is world standard and years ago when I came here the first time I just loved the way the café is set out with almost a stage for those attempting adverse possession with their laptops, and a big square bar with heaps of nooks to enjoy your chosen beverage.

For the past four years this has been my go-to coffee shop and if I were writing this in February of 2020 or before, I would likely be rating it four or five stars. However, I have been deeply disappointed with Davis Streets response to the pandemic and public health guidelines. In the past, I have come in and listened to baristas carefully and calmly de-escalate situations with customers angry about a lack of dairy alternatives or WiFi; so, it seems absurd that management would encourage their baristas to speak out in regards to these things, but not a public health emergency. I have been in several times to grab coffee to-go and every time there are customers who wander in without a mask who go unaddressed which not only puts other customers at risk but also the staff. This is reinforced by the fact that I have consistently seen management and ownership wander through the cafe without a mask which sets an awful example for other customers and unnecessarily exposes their service team.I understand that this is a difficult time for small businesses, but for a shop that focuses so much on the importance of community and drawing people together, it is doing an abysmal job at creating a space where the community can feel safe.I am disappointed that this will no longer be a space that I can comfortably get coffee, but I am glad that there are other coffee shops within walking distance that provide and enforce guidelines to do their part in slowing the spread.

They sell Oak Cliff Coffee Roasters beans here which are my favorite. They will grind them and seal the bag for you and it’s cheaper than anywhere else I’ve seen them (like Whole Foods). But they did not grind them to the size I asked, so now I can’t use them. Staff are very friendly. But they do not have any non-dairy milks for those who are lactose intolerant or vegan. I wish they did so I could get a latte or cappuccino. It would also be great if they had plant based food options.
