This may be my favorite book store in the world. Theres just no way to express how cool this place is. Im a fan of Half Price Books and have a location about a mile away from me, but this location is really special. Its packed with stuff, both old and new. The selection is insane. Its super clean and huge! Plus they have a lot of special items that makes a trip here like a treasure hunt. I give this book store my absolute highest recommendation.

Great store size. I have never been in as big or as interesting Half Price. Ive been to several in different cities and states. This coffee shop is really a good size. Chairs in the coffee shop, outside, and in the main part of the book store. They make some beautiful baked goods. The book store has a good sized clearance area towards the back wall. Have a great time!

I love this place. Friendly staff. Great place to trade in old entertainment and get a new couple of things. They have video game stuff, records, books, even collectible things. Kids and I love exploring. Cool kids section with playhouse for them to read in while you browse the discount shelves next to it. Always tons of cool science books. Never gone and not walked out with a great buy! Thanks team!

Found this book and a few other gems recently! Staff is friendly and kind! Looking forward to this read, we actually found two copies so we are excited to dig into this. I like that this book has some notes from the previous reader as well! One of my favorite half price book spots since the location is so central and it’s their huge flagship location. :)

If your looking for a place to just escape from all this covid 19 mess, just get yourself a good dose of knowledge at an affordable price. They have more than enough to choose from. They have all sorts of goodies you can gravitate towards. They even have some toy collectables. Comics, movie media (dvd, blu-rays, 4k) . They even have tv shows. If that doesnt do it for you. The music selection might, they have plenty of Vynils to choose from. You might even find something rare. They have CD to, and even video games. Come see for yourself, Im sure it will be an escape worth taking.

They have a great variety of books for a half priced books. This half priced books is huge. They also have the perfect cafe (Black Forest Coffee) it is really nice to sit down and study and get some work done. If I get thirsty or hungry they also have a variety of food and drinks not just coffee. The people that work here are also just really nice and laid back you don’t feel like your being judge or stared at.

Best bookstore in DFW. Went to see Larry Correia, and he was also great! If youre into fun reads, I strongly recommend his Monster Hunters International series of books, or anything else hes written!

Ive been coming here for decades. Customer service and staff are great. My experience at satellite stores has been hit or miss. This visit I was selling a lot of books! Id only sold a few before. They made the experience painless. I just walked around enjoying the aisles and got a drink in the cafe. I just want to mention that it was hard to understand the loud speaker. My hearing is pretty good, but if it wasnt theres no way I would have heard them call my name. I just happened to be near the bathrooms where its louder. Just FYI. Its always a pleasure.

This store size is great and has a book for everyone with plenty unique decorations to look at, but that staff… they leave some to be yearned for. I’ve sold books here several times and most of the times, I feel a little lowballed. Today, I brought in a few books and 6-7 records. I was surprised when I got back 33.00. I discussed the total with the clerk and didn’t even realize they buy records at a decent rate! I went home and went through the rest of my collection and got there two hours before close. Mind you, I brought probably 50 records, some new, a couple dozen kept on sleeves and main titles like Paul McCarney, Black Sabbath, Fleetwood Mac, Elvis, etc. They offered me 12 dollars. It really felt like they just didn’t want to deal with it, so it was easier than actually doing their jobs. So disappointed and a time waster on both our parts. If you treat your books, albums, etc well, it’s more worth it to keep them. Side note, I have only had this experience at this location, never the other Dallas or Tyler locations. I wish there was some consistency to the buying, especially considering it was done on the same day!

Nice clean store. Very helpful staff and a huge selection of books at an amazing price. Most books are pre-owned but you can find some new books and a great selection of new journals. I would recommend this place to any avid reader.

Love this flagship store. Just exploring the vintage section is like a visit to a museum. So many things to choose from and your kids will be happy to see what they have for them as well. A great place to spend an hour or two.

This was the first time Ive visited the flagship store and I was definitely overwhelmed by everything there was to browse through. By far the biggest HPB Ive been in so far. Great selections in the sections I went for and Ill definitely be back if Im ever in the area again.

Ideal for novels, accessories, comics, genres and most catalogs and categories. Northwest highway facility is huge and spacious, convenient parking lot and even shaded seating outside for quiet reading. Thus far customer service personnel has been attentive and courteous. Only missing newly updated sports magazines.

If you still enjoy holding a book in your hands to read, and not pay a full retail cost for the book, this is your place. Stock is random and plentiful or scarce, depending on the book you seek. But you will find something to pique your interest. And now they have a growing Internet retail presence to source the books you cannot find in-store. Try them!

Dont even waste your time selling your books to these people. They pay pennies on the dollar for everything. New, current, perfect condition, it doesnt matter they offered me $10.00 for $400 in books and most I bought from them I was just returning as I lost the original receipt. I will be buying all my books online now screw Half Price rips offs.

This is Half Price Books, but the size of 5. Its great! The same prices and all the same selection as most of the other locations, but theres so much more to explore here.

Worth a stop! This is a large large book store....reminiscent of the grand days of barnes and noble or borders but from a small business localist perspective. There is a huge selection of books and the cute little nick nacks and bonuses that go along with that vibe.

Half pieced books is a great store for books, literature, dvd, gaming, toys, etc...etc...not only that but they buy your old books and pay you cash. It may not be a huge return on your initial investment but its better than just having extra books lying around. Great place with a lot of different options.

One of the most enticing and fun half price books in Dallas. Love to come here and just spend a good amount of time sifting through old books, discounted book and other things. They even have good board games and activities for the kids. Would 10/10 recommend any day. Not to mention there’s a cafe inside and you can sell your books too

I love browsing at this place, especially while waiting for a rebate on old, used books I turn in for cash. I especially like the CD and vinyl record selections.

So I already love half price books. But this location is by far and away the very best. I love that there are even places to sit and read. If you are looking for a book, they probably have it. The staff is friendly and is extremely helpful. So why not 5 stars because they ban concealed handguns. Disappointed.

Glad to see the staff still masked. Sadly, most of the customers were not. I was selling a lot of books, but I was tempted by some puzzles I found in the store. Always a great selection of books and the store was clean as with all past visits.

Its obvious this location is here to make money from us customers so give us a good price when we bring seasons and DVDs at least be competitive in price to the customers we put a lot of money into your store we spend a lot of money in your store you say the online business is the reason why you cant give us customers a good cash refund on our DVDs and our seasons when you charge 5.99 for most of your movies yes you have clearance maybe that are $3 and movies that are $2 most most of your seasons are 19.99 and sometimes $30 obvious youre making money from us customers do a better job on treating a customer with respect and giving them a fair price for their movies after all were helping you out!!!!!!

Love, love, love this place. If you’re an avid reader and like to keep the books you’ve read this is a great place to shop. They have a better selection than Barnes & Noble at a portion of the cost. They also buy used books. Keep it local.

Never been to this half price books before. It was HUGE! There was a very large selection to choose from with signs and labels everywhere. The staff was super helpful with finding the right sections for us. Definitely recommend for some affordable books

Massive, absolutely massive, dog friendly. Had every book in a series I was looking for except 1 book. Despite its massive size. I wish they had maps with a layout. Like a youre here sign with sections.

A decent place to buy used books.Not a great place to sell - unless you dont mind that they give you fifty cents for a book today, and sell it for $9.99 (or more) tomorrow.Everybody has to make a profit of course, but 100% markup over cost is pretty standard top-gouge price. 2000% seems a little excessive.If youre looking to get rid of books - this is better than a landfill. If you can itemize deductions, donating them to Goodwill or your local library probably makes more sense.Look up your old, unwanted books on Amazon first. Sell the ones worth more than a couple of bucks there. Bring the ones not worth shipping to HPB.

First time at the Dallas location and I absolutely loved it! It doesnt even compare to the Arlington location. The selection is triple in size and the staff is beyond friendly and helpful. It was well worth the 35 minute drive!

A plethora of knowledge from actual employees. Thats such a plus in my book !! Most employees of the establishments I go to generally refer you to an isle that doesnt exist or has the total opposite of what you are looking for? The selection is huge and unfreaking believable. This is, hands down, the best Half Price Books. Great selection of new and used books, media, comics, gifts, etc., along with a cute little cafe. Lovely place to visit with family, friends, or to get lost in alone.

Great store with lots of spots to sit and hangout. i love how quick stuff comes and goes in this location. the game section is about 3x bigger then every other half price ive been to. also they have some cool stuff that comes through their clearance section! i love this store and ill continue to come here so long as im able to!

My experiences here have always been pleasant and helpful. Every year I come to this store on MLK Day, Memorial Day, and Labor Day, and its always fascinating to look through the stores extensive History section and acquire some good literature for my growing book collection. The staff have always been kind and helpful, and the shelves are well-kept. Visit this store if you are in Dallas, and youll be guaranteed to have a good time!

What a great place to buy gifts at half off there are so many books, Cds, board games, DVDs, 331/3 record albums and so much more! Used books are usually new and about 60% or more off of retail!The have places to sit and read, a great little coffee and sandwich shop.I would highly recommend books I took a bunch of old books there and got $54!

This store has really gone downhill. Carpet is incredibly dirty and stained up. Some places you can tell they just ripped up the carpet and the concrete underneath is exposed. People are allowed to bring their dogs in the store and I barely avoided stepping in a puddle of dog pee. Also lots of stains from pee and feces. Overall just kind of gross.

Still one of the best places mid town for books and rare grooves. Black Forest cafe has a great selection of coffee and pastries as well. Great place to lose yourself in a book or research project.

Great selection of new and used books for all ages, as well as vinyl records. Decent variety of manga, used games, and odd collectibles. Excellent customer service. Dont expect much from selling books (more for store credit value) but still best value as this location is main hub. Nicer thing is anything they dont buy from you, they will donate or recycle - so always worth the trip.

Its a pretty nice and big place, they have tons of books, comics, music, movies. definitely a must go even if you are not buying anything, very well organized and they have a little house for kids on the kids section.

I never leave this place empty handed. I usually grab 2-3 books and a CD each time. Sometimes I go to the clearance racks, grab a book at random, and spend the weekend lost in that book.

We hadnt shopped & browsed here since 2019. It was such a delight spending time finding the books we wanted. The flagship store on NW Hwy in Dallas is our favorite.

This place is huge! I love it! There are so many rows and options and amazing selections. This place is clean and quiet in certain areas for people to read and or study. They even have a small cafe that was playing 90s grunge, my favourite!

The MOST amazing HPB store. My teacher heart sang out at the ailes and ailes of choices. From self help to religion to new best sellers, the selection cannot be beat!

Its the flagship location and therefore is impressive and huge. It can be a little difficult (and daunting) to find what youre looking for, but luckily the staff is very helpful.

Half Price Books is a book store chain that sells used books and other media including music and videogames. I find the atmosphere to be slow and relaxing. The Half-price Books on loop 12 in Dallas also incorporates a Coffee Shop called Black Forest Cafe, which is also very good. On this occasion I was trying to find copies of popular anime My Hero Academia, but none were available.

I love this Half Price Books. Its huge. I usually spend hours here.

The big half price books main location on northwest highway is by far the best. Its worth the drive even if theres a closer location.

This is, by far, the biggest HPB Ive ever been to. The building is the size of a warehouse, so they have a huge section for EACH genre.I was able to find the complete collection of Gibbons The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire (Folio Society set), which Ive not been able to find elsewhere. And of course, it was about 1/5 the price of other sellers. Im super excited to start reading it.Also, the staff here were very polite, helpful, and conversational.Sadly, this location is an hour away from my house. Nonetheless, Ill be going back soon!

While the smaller stores offer convenience, your best selection of pre-owned books is at the main store on Northwest Hwy. I always find the books Im looking for here and usually in great condition. Great selection of gifts as well.

Im a little dumbfounded to be honest. I grew up going to used book stores since I was a little kid, but they were always small non-descript shops in strip malls. Loaded with old books piled to the ceiling, probably would never pass modern fire code. Half Price Books is NOT that! This place is huge, think more like the size of a best buy store. It was amazing. Rare collectible books, regular books used and new, board games, video games, cds, records, dvds, blu-rays. Its amazing all that they have in here. You could spend hours here.....and I did. Some other reviews complained that they werent open past nine pm. I was amazed they were open on a Sunday at all let alone until 9pm! Had a great time and my daughter spent some of her birthday money and walked out with a box full of young adult fantasy. The rest of us walked with a box of music board games movies and cookbooks. Loved this place, so happy they survived the pandemic. Will be back soon and often!
