We stopped on a cross country drive! I normally pick coffee shops that roast their own beans, but their specialty drinks (and location) made me stop here! I was happy to see the Blueberry Bliss was made with oat milk - it was amazing!!! Not too sweet, but definitely decadent. It didnt have a super artificial taste either, which I find often with unusual flavors in coffee. Also got The Warlock, and I see why its their specialty! The flavors arent ones Id normally go for but boy do they work!! It isnt spicy, just warming and delicious!
Came here on one of my days off. As a coffee buff I recommend not getting these two things from them if you like them normally.#1 French Press#2 ChemexIn my professional opinion (used to be a barista and I am a HUGE coffee buff) both are extremely watery, lack flavor, smell, and taste. I tried both within the same day and I was very disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend getting either from here. The only reason why I came is that I looked up French press in Dallas and this popped up. As a person who owns a French press so many people use them incorrectly. You are supposed to leave the lever up until after 4 minutes. Then after the 4 minutes you are supposed to then press the lever down slowly then enjoy. The reason people get French press is that they prefer a more robust flavor, extremely hot, smooth finish. This was just hot brown water. I wasn’t impressed at all
Solid coffee and excellent draughts menu. I honestly think the person/team picking the varieties of beer here is doing a stellar job - reminds me of my time in Colorado where you can pick from so many styles. Highly recommend trying any imperial, sour, stout, porter, or cider theyve got on tap.
Stopped by today for a coffee. The espresso was good and the service was good. However none of the customers had masks on and there was no information posted about policy. Dallas county currently requires a mask for commercial spaces.**To Civil Pour: Thank you for replying. Perhaps I was there before the signs went up. Regardless, I appreciate your response and effort.
I love this coffee shop and I actually frequent it. Everyone that works there is amazing as usual and the coffee is always delicious. Im not even a cinnamon person and they recommended the warlock and it tasted really good, Id recommend that and the honey lavender latte.
Love Civil Pour and am so happy that they survived the pandemic! By far some of the best coffee Ive found in the area. The Warlock is my favorite, but Ive never had a disappointing drink here yet. Customer service is friendly and orders are usually ready quickly. I really like being able to order online now - makes it super convenient!
Such a well balanced place with beer and coffee what can go wrong? Amazing coffee and great baristas who are good with recommendations! Definitely coming back!
They have both traditional and unique coffee/espresso drinks that are fantastic and made with care and attention. Ive had an unsweetened latte and the Blueberry Bliss, the latter of which is like caffeinated candy, and theyre both terrific. Up there with the top craft coffee shops in town. Also, the Cuban sandwich is fantastic and theres a nice mix of pastries. It has become a regular spot for me and my wife. I dont drink beer, but it looks like theyre as painstaking about that selection as they are with their coffee.
I love the atmosphere at Civil Pour, and enjoy coming here to study. The quality of their coffee is excellent as well!
Girlfriend and I stopped by on our road trip I had a pour over and she had a vanilla latte. My pour over was excellent one of the best Ive ever had. However the latte was almost undrinkable and tasted rubbery.
Stopped by here to get a quick cup of coffee while I waited for a friend. I ordered the Warlock latte which has a pretty interesting flavor profile (double espresso, chocolate syrup, cayenne, vanilla). I also love that the coffee didnt come excruciatingly hot so I was able to drink it comfortably. The coffee cake I had was less than stellar and could stand to be a little softer in texture, but it was OK for a snack. They have a great setup to get your coffee without having to go inside. Theyre definitely conscious about distance and sanitation which I feel are pretty important during covid times. Ill be back if Im in the area again.
Stopped by passing through town: so glad we did! Got a cortado and a decaf (☹️) Warlock, which is a signature drink of theirs with chocolate and cayenne pepper. Delicious, solid coffee. Most of the tables needed to be wiped down, but the bathrooms were very clean and the vibe is super chill. Almost like the cafeteria at Ikea but in a warmer way.I saw remnants of food on some of the tables and was pleasantly surprised by their wide variety offerings in the way of beer and wine, so Ill definitely come back to get something to eat next time!
Good place to have coffee and talk with friends or family, the day was perfect to enjoy a wonderful coffee snd great service and visit with my daughter outside.
Very nice atmosphere, got the fireplace mocha one and it was very balanced flavor. Not too sweet and not too strong on the caffeine. Professional flavor. Very nice staff as well!
Pretty good spot for coffee and treats. The place is big and well lit. My cappucino was pretty good, but not the best I’ve had. While there, I noticed garage door style windows. It was a beautiful day and would have been nice to have them open.Overall, this is a nice place with lots of room to spread out and meet with friends. They also have beer if coffee isn’t your thing or you just don’t want it.
It had been a little while since I visited Civil Pour, but as expected the barista didnt disappoint. I was glad to see an even more extensive menu with a variety of options. Great coffee spot!
I loved my expereince here. I went to work there to get out my house for the day, the staff was friendly and even offered for us to try a different coffee choice. I would have given them 5 stars but I was there too long using wifi and they kicked me off. Other than that, I loved it! Ill be back!
I dont even drink coffee and I love this place. The sandwiches are absolutely top tier and they carry awesome beer. Ownership really cares about making this an great place to be at for customers and employees alike. Tell your friends, its worth it!
Pretty good coffee! I really enjoyed the Warlock. If you can make your way there. Also some good looking beer options with growler filling station and cool swag.
Coffee and food are good, awesome environment! Only thing I dont understand is the 2 hour limited internet access (which is the only reason I go to coffee shop for, to get the job done, and it takes more than 2 hours).
This is one of my new favorite spots. Good coffee, good beer, good food, cute merch, and the tables are actually big enough to study at. Will definitely be frequenting this place!
Love this spot. Great pour over coffee and some super delicious and unique coffee drinks. If youre feeling hungry, I highly recommend the Stallone, so meaty, just like the man himself.Plus a super friendly staff. And finally, where else can you get yourself a good ol Montucky Cold Snack? Yes please.
Great coffee! Also had a cookie that was really good. Nice casual atmosphere
I love Civil Pour, good food, good customer service, great owners, I honestly love all the events Chad has ran for civil Pour pre-pandemic. I cant wait to see whats in store to see Civil Pour blossom.Always a good experience and great timeKeep it up everyone :D
Probably one of the worst Matcha Lattes I’ve had in my life. Their other coffee drinks are good though! I think it’s a good place to work - though you’re only given 2 hours of internet access.Food options are a bit pricey! But it seems like folks were really digging them so they seem popular. It was a total miss that they covered the mural with a table and storage boxes. Quite beautiful mural of an elephant only to be ruined by boxes covering up most of it.
Ive been to Civil Pour many times. What a wonderful handcrafted spin on a place to get a drink. Its the most comfortable place Ive found in all my travels to clink the glasses of my fancy coffee with my companions fancy craft beer. Its got a well lit, open feel during the daytime hours and a shockingly nice patio area (its just a shop on Walnut Hill, I have no idea how they made the outside so inviting. The whole place is just a testimate to what a few people with a vision and hard work can do and its a true area gem because of it. Also it has a beautiful top tier mural inside dedicated to the greatest Street Fighter stage of all time - do youself a favor, grab a spicy drink and and a picture by the elephant. You can meditate and then ponder where your next victory will be :)
I enjoy their offerings and service. Recommend.
Quality! Awesome staff! Friendly and cool space. Happy to be here!
Still a shining 5 star to this day. The owners did everything to stay open with every precaution for the health of not just their employees, but everyone as well. I dont understand how selfishly entitled you have to be to get angry over a place still asking for masks, and despite being vaccinated, I will respect their wishes. Great food, drinks, atmosphere and people.
By far the best cold brew coffee you can buy in Dallas. Great rotating beer selection and wonderful customer service. I cannot wait to go back.
Civil Pour is a breath of fresh air in a newly renovated shopping center. Having spearheaded Big Texas Beer Fest, Chad and Nellie know their stuff, and know how to do things right. It’s a beautiful, warm and bright space, the staff is friendly and helpful, the beer selection is amazing, the coffee delicious, and both paninis that I’ve tried have been killer.I will definitely be making it a regular stop when I’m in the neighborhood. Oh...And did I mention they have a badass growler filling robot?? And a coffee robot?? Spectacular!!
One of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE places to relax ever. The staff is NOTHING but friendly, patient and knowledgeable. Everyone is so lovely, and the outdoor seating is AWESOME. The menu item I always crave is their breakfast croissant w avocado and turkey and Swiss and I ALWAYS love their lavender latte or warlock. Love love LOVE this place. Special thank u to sweet sweet Josh who was sooooo patient and informative while my friend and I were trying to decide what to order!!
The house Matcha mix was good, but it was almost $5 for 5oz! We also got a house coffee drinks that was horrid tasting. Again, it was almost $5 for 5oz! The internet also has a 2 hour cap, which is pretty useless for a uni student. It was nice to try something new, but we wont be returning. The pricing is what really killed it. Seriously, almost a dollar an ounce....
The coffee was very bad tasting. It was acidic and bitter. There were some interesting options available for coffee, but the one I got (strawberries and cream cold brew) tasted horrible. The employees were nice and understanding; they gave me a new coffee (cold brew with milk) but that also tasted bad. I think the coffee beans they are using may be of low quality. I think they should switch to a roast from a different brand.
We come here too much! We love the paninis and all of the desserts!
Fantastic staff and service. Love the food and sow pour coffee! They know their beans
Three mocha on ice was nice, but the coffee cake was dry. The staff (or at least the guy I interacted with) was good. Id visit again. Actually the iced mocha is probably the best one Ive had in a long while.
The people, coffee, beer, and paninis are all top notch. This is my go to spot to grab a bite while working
The coffee and atmosphere were great.
Great coffee but I won’t be returning. The staff is rude and require masks even for those who are vaccinated. I don’t appreciate nor will I support businesses who force their personal beliefs and disregard current law.
Let me tell you about this place. This place is actually really cool it is a really chill spot to go and get coffee and sit and be on your phone or laptop and do some work or just relax. The place has a lot of white walls which make the room look lighter and bigger but except for one wall that always catches my eye when I go here to get a coffee and thats the huge elephant in this copper and gold paint that looks pretty awesome. You can sit at the bar and see how they make some of the coffees, by the way they have some great coffee here I tried their blue berry coffee which was great its coffee and blueberry flavors together and they mash pretty well together. I have also had the smorespresso which looks really cool which consists of a cup of ice cream with graham cracker and shot of espresso and a small skewer with a toasted marshmallow. The place is not super expensive its about the same as the big coffee chains and I believe they have beer and wine too and other bottled drinks its a definite yes for me to go and experience it really cool place .
We were in the area looking for coffee and went with the Civil Pour and were not disappointed. I got an iced Warlock and it was delicious. We also got a scone and it was outstanding. Definitely unexpected. We will definitely be back if in the area again.
Great coffee and a terrific beer selection. The pastries are all wonderful, but you owe it to yourself to get a ham and cheese croissant - I dont know what spices they put on those things but it might be crack because Im addicted.
Best coffee in Dallas by far - my favorite is their Fireplace Latte. Also, their Avocado Croissant is so so good with the sriracha mayo, definitely give it a try.
The food and drinks were soooooo good. Were definitely going back.
A unique local coffee shop with ethics. The owners have taken COVID very seriously, and keep the safety of their staff and customers in mind. They have been creative with adding the outside patio seating while they wait for the vaccine to be more widely available. The staff is always friendly and informative about all products and the rotating taps. Please support them! We need more local shops that feature other local brands and not more corporate shops. Shops like this support the whole community. By supporting them you also support local breweries like Lakewood and Martin House. They have an interesting concept and plenty of rotating taps. According to my husband the espresso is very smooth, and my teas, beer, and Kombucha have always been tasty. They also clean the taps regularly and display the last time they were cleaned.
Place has a great feel to it. I had the Stallone panini with a couple of beers. They also pour 4oz glasses if youre wanting to try different beers. Also had the butter rum cake with a Church Secret beer. Good selection of beer. Natural lighting. Friendly staff. Cant wait to go back for morning coffee.
Hooray, there’s a neighborhood bar near by. Excited, who me?!! Why yes I am. I remember when this little area was just open with nothing more than a pool supply. Now, we have restaurants, breakfast spot and Civil Pour. It’s been there about 3 months. It’s a sleek set up with lots of seating. There’s also seating right at the pouring station. The menu has a large range of beers and if you’re not feeling that, have some barista delivered coffee offerings. I came for beer. I had a couple of tastes until I choose something to drink. I had a lovely Gose. 3 Nations Brewery called, “There she Gose.” It’s a sour Gose that I sipped on as I gazed at my treasure. I purchased my first growler because they had my fav from the beer festival in Austin. It’s kind of late so I’m able to scope the area as I sip and dreamingly look at the elephant mural. Great service. They guys were patiently allowing me to sample some beers before making my select with no problems. I most definitely know I’ll be back.
Civil Pour is a hidden gem of Dallas. They offer an amazing selection of craft beer, great coffee beverages (they take their coffee very seriously. Better than any Starbucks or similar), delicious paninis, and have friendly, knowledgeable staff. One of my go-to coffee drinks, is their unique “1885” - an amazing blend of espresso and Dublin Dr. Pepper.Their Cuban panini may just be the best Cuban (sandwich) that I’ve had in Texas.I highly recommend this establishment.
Wonderful coffee and even better service. Highly recommended.
Cool coffee set up, good on tap options. Filling growlers of coffee and beer.
Among my favorite places to stop, whether for a beer or coffee, tasty paninis, too!
I frequent a lot of coffee shops in Dallas and This is by far my favorite. Not only does Civil Pour serve my favorite coffee (The Warlock) but they have satisfying sandwiches and serve delicious beer, too. I normally drink my coffee black, no cream or sugar, but when I want to treat myself, I get The Warlock with oat milk and an extra shot, depending on how my week has been. Try it, you wont regret it and youll probably be just as hooked on to Civil Pour as I am. Also, have I mentioned that the people who work there are pretty great and the owners are fantastic? Probably going to get a Warlock now ✌🏼
I cannot rate this place enough. Dallas just had a crazy snow storm and everything was shut down and Civil Pour still paid their employees and made sure they were taken care of and that just shows how much of a great company they are! Their coffee is amazing as well!
1st time visitor: stopped in for a bite to eat and a cold beer. Heard about this place through the Untapd beer app.Very attentive service; I was greeted and had my order taken within minutes. 30 taps to choose from - I went with a strong Scottish ale to wash down my pannini. A little disappointed at the greasiness of the pannini but honestly it tasted really good.I may be back to check out the coffee selection....
Delicious coffee (try the Warlock!) And beer! Paninis and pastries are great too! Staff is friendly and helpful ❤️
Civil Pour is locally owned and most importantly locally operated. The owner is consciously aware of things going on around him. He always tries to help out in his community as much as he can. He is the prime example of the type of business owner you want in and around your neighborhood. Please do try to support this business as much as you can
I came in for a growler and wanted to try something new. The guy behind the counter made a solid recommendation when I told him I like stouts and porters.
Staff is friendly, coffee is great. I see that they usually use Novel coffee which i really like, I get The Warlock. Its super tasty and smooth, definitely a place to have a date, get work done or chill out after the pandemic goes away.
Flavorless pour-over coffee. There is no point to drinking this.----------EDIT: Please disregard the rest; it was a jerk move by me to have made assumptions about the owners and to have prescribed actions for them.----------The owners should travel and experience good coffee and try again.
Great coffee selections!
Hey, thats pretty cool!
Great coffee and a great atmosphere!
Great beer selection, great coffee selection and great food!
Excellent service, even through masks the cashier made sure to get our order right. The coffee was okay. No drip coffee available after 11am on weekdays
This shop was incredible. Open floorplan means I wouldnt do work here but enjoyed the atmosphere a TON, very lively, with a helpful and friendly staff and unique drink offerings. The 1885 is two shots of espresso over cane sugar Dr. Pepper and ice and it was fantastic. Absolutely recommend. The iced latte was also really great. Will absolutely be back next trip to Dallas.
Great place to hang out with friends to get a beer and a bite. The sandwich I had was amazing. The Stallone is so good. They have so many draft beers. Went in today and saw that they were having a Smash bros tournament, also they had a group of players going at it on some Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo. Game night at Civil Pour. That was awesome. The staff is friendly, the place is clean, good beer, good coffee. They sell growlersIll be back to Civil Pour.
Really friendly staff and innovative drink options.
Want caffeine or alcohol? Why not both? Check out this combined coffee shop and bar for all your beverage needs. Plenty of seating to hang out for a bit and study. Highly recommend the ginger brew, combination of ginger beer and cold brew coffee. Very refreshing!
My wife and I spend at least one day a week at Civil Pour. The people here are amazing and the selection of coffee, food, and beer are just as fantastic.I would recommend Civil Pour to anyone and everyone. The only downside to this recommendation is that everyone will be coming.Give them a go and you will leave with a smile!
Pretty tasty, had the mocha latte and turkey sandwich
Nice Place.
I love places that have specialty drinks so I’m glad I found this place. I got the blueberry bliss and it was the best coffee I’ve had in a while. Can’t wait to go back and try more.
Made to order specialty coffee that has been born through a special process. This place has a large variety of coffee offerings made to order. Tea, beer, pastries, and sandwich options are menu worthy. The seating is vast for a small place and there is an option of to go..
