The ambiance is really cool, I like the drinks and the food is decent, but the service isn’t the best. My first time there and as usual, a familiar experience being black is to have to wait long time to be served. We sat there and no one came to our table, but went to other tables to help guests that came in after us. I have to flag someone down and ask if our table is exempt from being helped. The guy was like “oh have you not been helped I said no.” So he just took our order but after he took our order we didn’t see him anymore. I had to actually go IN to track down our check to pay. Not cool.
Great spot to chill. Bicycle friendly. Service is great and specific shout-out to Kade. Staff is knowledgeable on beer. Great appetizers to start any occasion.Selection of beer is fantasic and decent food for after some intervals around the lake.Their German Lager when available is delicious and their Mexican Lager after a ride is perfection!
Beer was great would for recommend and come back for that. The staff was friendly but slow and there werent many people there.The food was a completely different story... The quality was very poor, especially for the total we paid for our bill. Wont be back to eat, disappointing:/
Unfortunately we had to leave after being seated because they only have three high chairs and all of them were being used. It’s an amazing outdoor space that is great for families and we were looking forward to eating there but had to leave. Fingers crossed they will get more for the future so more families can be there at one time.
I hate 3 stars for this place. The side of this is whenever we do not sit at the bar something goes wrong with the service, everytime. Food is always lovely. Definitely eat here. Beer choices outstanding, Definitely grab a drink. The servers on the floor are not supportive. They do not run drinks unless its their table. They do not run food unless it is their table. So how do my husband and I tip ourselves? My hubs grabbed our drinks dying in the well. He went to the bar and ordered our meal. I went to the bar and ordered our cocktails. The GM was very nice but even eventually she realized something was not right at our table. We did not leave after the 1st red flag b/c we were on a time table. GREAT bar service but never have we ever received decent table side services. Go for the food and drafts but this was our last attempt to sit in the dining area.
UPDATE :- I feel obligated to change my wording and clarify multiple things in response to the owners comment. When I say they were out of half the brews, I wasnt talking about their guest brews... I was talking about their own brews which they brew in their own brewery. I asked for at least four different beers and they were out of the beer. Im sure that they are really working hard to get best product out but there is a reason why you cant have your tap running out of beers in middle of the day.Im sure other apps are great but while I was there and ordered their apps, it was mediocre at best.Hence My one star review is absolutely validated because of the reasons stated above and below with details.------------------------------------------They were out of half the brews when i visited and the apps were mediocre. Great spot for hanging out after a nice run at the lake but definitely need to get things in order to get all the taps going and quality of the food needs to improve significantly.
WOW! This place is great!The atmosphere, the food, the beer flavors, everything was great. The server was very attentive and provided me with plenty of samples to try the different beers.Its a little pricey, but still reasonable.I definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Easy to find restaurant with a great laid-back atmosphere. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious! We started off with the Tater Kegs for appetizers and then chose the Texas Heat and Alehouse Burger. My husband is really picky about his burgers but had no complaints tonight. The Texas Heat did have some heat but not so much that it wasnt enjoyable. There was a pretty good selection for the flight.
Nice local chill spot. there was some miscommunication between servers and after getting our drinks no one checked on us for quite a while. manager (possibly? they didn’t introduce themselves) brought over a free appetizer as an apology and the rest of the service was fine. i had the ale house burger and it tasted just like my dads hamburgers in the best way. like it just came off the grill. will be back with my dog to enjoy the patio next time
I don’t understand the negative reviews here. I see people saying it’s expensive here, the food isn’t good here, the service isn’t good here…my thoughts are (1) it’s not expensive, a burger cost $11…not exactly breaking the bank. (2) it’s an ale house/brewery…not a Michelin star restaurant…change your expectations on what quality of food you’ll get here. (3) there’s a pandemic going on…there’s a lot of employee turnover in the service industry, don’t blow up a restaurants rating with a 1-star review bc you had a bad experience once. (4) I’m blown away the current star rating is a 4.3, I’m not saying the average score should be a 5.0, but 4.3 is aggressively low.
Ive loved everything Ive ever tried here. Their in house brews are amazing and they still have a wide variety of other beers and cocktails. Weve eaten here for both brunch and lunch and thoroughly enjoyed both. Their food menu is innovative, delicious, and well portioned! Plus, they have the coolest atmosphere and decor here, a dog friendly patio and games! Definitely worth a visit!
Great selection of beer and food. Lots of TVs for sports and friendly staff. I really enjoy the Nashville Hot Chicken and my husband likes the Texas Heat Flatbread.
Our waiter TJ was great! We were there for East Dallas Democrats get together. The turnout was great! The rear patio was really nice and clean area of the Brewery and accommodated more than at least 200 people showed up for the event. The pizza, chicken wings and drinks all great too.
Friendly alehouse with great lighting, brews, and food. I highly enjoyed the tater kegs for their cheesy goodness with a hint of spice! My boyfriend and I split their alehouse burger with fries and both were delicious. I tried the Capsized Kayak and the Nitro Bonnie Barge (pictured). I personally preferred the Capsized Kayak for its light crisp taste but the Bonnie Barge was a delicious change and paired well with the brownie for dessert. Quick and friendly service as well. I will definitely be returning with my dog in the warmer months!

Of all the places I have been as a newcomer to Dallas this is just okay in comparison. There was kitchen staff with long hair but no hair cover, the restroom needed cleaning (mold along the trim of the wash basin) and no paper for handwashing. My waiter was personable but when you pay by card it is automated so tips begin at 20% which I think should be left to the patron to decide. The beer battered fish was pretty good but all of the other things detract from that so I wont feel the need to go back although I live right across the street.
Have been here numerous times and never had a bad experience but never anything to rave about either. Tonight was a change. The food and service was excellent. Justin did a great job on a busy night and my sons burger and my chicken were cooked perfectly and my wife thought the Brussels sprouts were the best. Thank you for a great experience.
Please post the time in which a paying customer can order lunch (after 12:00 pm noon) on your menus. There is no time limitation on the “ food menu” please hire friendly (not rude) servers.1:00pm is not a brunch time for some of us

Storm was a really great help when it came to recommendations for a first timer! We will definitely be back to try out more of these unique dishes! The experience was overall worth every cent! Ps try the tater tot bites! Im sure they are called something else but they are delicious! (*Tater kegs!*)
Ehhh. Food is so so. Grilled chicken sandwich was disappointing. A grilled chicken breast on top of a hamburger setup. The only enjoyable part of the food was the ranch chips but I received such a small amount as my side dish. Also zero staff came by to check it everything was alright with my food, I would have showed then the amount of chips I was given. I take a look at the beer menu and think these are alright priced beers until you are getting less pint sized beers. I left White Rock still hungry. I always purchase shirts from the breweries I visit until now.
My husband and I are in town taking a mini vacation this weekend and came here for lunch after a stroll in the botanical garden. So glad we did!!!!! The food is amazing!!!!!! I had the ahi tuna nachos and yummmmmm!!!!!! Hubby had half the menu and took some for later and yummmmmm. Francis our server was awesome!!!!! Knowledgeable, friendly and super helpful!!!! And might I mention they have Yuengling on the beer menu now!!!!!!! Sold!!!!! Thanks for making our weekend better than I couldve ever expected!!!! We will be back!
I came on Sunday to watch the Lakers game. We met some friends who were already seated and even though the host followed us to our seats, no one came by for 15 full minutes. There were SO many employees working, even near us, - Im talking an average of one employee per 2-3 people in the restaurant at the time - but the only way we were able to get literally anything was by flagging someone down. They didnt ask for our order. They didnt get the order right. They didnt bring my drink. They didnt give us silverware or napkins. They didnt bring the ranch with a salad. The food was mediocre at best, the service was the literal worst Ive ever seen, and it was so expensive.
Huge covered and uncovered patio. Easily accessible from the trail. They had a water bowl for my puppy. Not as extensive of a beer selection as some, but I found a beer I enjoy. Great staff. Definitely going to enjoy this spot throughout the summer.

Right off the Santa Fe trail. Perfect place to stop for a beer after a bike ride. The bar food is also consistently tasty. A few vegetarian options as well which I appreciated.
My husband and I went here for a few drinks and food at the bar and enjoyed our experience. Attentive bartender, good food, and good atmosphere. Will likely come again when in the area.

Awesome place! The drinks are good and food is phenomenal! Heidi was our server and she described everything on the menu. We had the Red Velvet Battered Shrimp with fries, Philly steak, salmon, and the wings. The servers are great and are very helpful. The place is very clean, too. Definitely will be back!

My partner and a group of us bike riders come to white rock brewery almost weekly... actually pretty much every week. Today we went in to learn that the menu changed and they no longer carry the Sante Fe Chicken Salad. We were literally talking about how we could not wait to go here for dinner for this specific salad. Talk about a let down to know this has been removed. We love the spicy margaritas here and the outdoor area is our favorite. It’s always lively and there are always the cutest pups. Please bring back the salad!!! We’ve been coming here since last year when we moved across the street and it’s been our #1 go to spot. Thank you!!

My boyfriend and I frequent this place with our dogs. It’s right off the trail and the location is amazing. Great stopping point for good beers and good food. We’ve never had a complaint about the place until recently.We’ve had the same server the last two times we have visited and it’s been such a bummer. He always just seems to disappear forever and is constantly forgetting our orders.The first time, it was 4 of us and he was completely fine until he just stopped coming around our table even though we had put in an order of drinks and it took so long to get them to us, and this place was very early in the day and the place was not packed at all.The second time we had an issue with drinks and food.We placed an order for two beers and waited about 25-30 minutes for them before he happened to walk by our table, first time we saw him since ordering, and asked if we had gotten them yet. He returned with them about 10 minutes later.We made some simple requests to two dishes (no pickles on mine, jalapeños on my boyfriend’s) and that was still messed up. Not sure if that was on our server or the kitchen.Definitely not enough to make us stay away for good, but I think we will be bummed to have him as a server again as it always turns a quick pit stop into a two hour debacle.
We had the fish and chips here. The food was good even though it took a little longer than expected. Our server, Justin made up for the delay. He kept our drinks filled and our spirits high. We will definitely be back for his service.

Ride your bicycle from white rock trail to here! Great selection of beer, full bar, sports TV, trendy delicious menu, lots of outdoor space, consistent good service. Lots of free parking if you drive.
Best spot to visit off the Santa Fe Trail. Great beer selection, always great and friendly service. Burgers and tacos are really good but you may find few items miss the mark, but I just think thats because they experiment and have a creative menu. If you get something you dont like dont condemn the place just try something different next time and you may find a new personal favorite. Today I had the bruben (a reuben wrap) and it was crazy good.

Good food and service, but I do not care for onions and I got what I ordered a burger without onions but lettuce tasted of onions. Did not ruin the meal or the good times but it could have been better.
IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME, DO NOT COME HERE. We were told there was a 30 minute wait for a table of 2. Ok, we waited, as many other groups of people were doing (mind you not socially distancing because there’s no waiting area nor was it a priority to seat people). As we were waiting, my friend and I noticed there were over 7 tables that were either clean or were waiting to get cleaned. My friend asked the hostess what the wait was for (as there were clearly open tables) and she literally told us that the wait was for the kitchen to catch up as was told to another group of people who were also waiting. I look over at the kitchen line and there are almost 10 plates waiting to be served. We left and went to a pizza placed across the street called Cane Rosso who sat us immediately. White Rock Ale House is a mess.
White Rock Alehouse is our go-to spot to eat lunch while riding our bikes around White Rock Lake. Our kids love the kids burger, we love the ahi nachos and the On your left chicken sandwich. The loaded tots are also great. The beer selection is also excellent with a few hazy ipas that we really enjoyed. The outdoor seating is a great place to spend an afternoon with family and friends. Parking is very easy and free if you drive and getting off of the bike trail is simple, but they could possibly add a sign so that less local folks could find it easier.Occasionally they are understaffed and somewhat slow. I wouldnt call this a fast service location.
I love white rock brewery! This is our go to spot when we’re biking around white rock. I love how they change their beers all the time (and they are always great!) and their food is really good too! Love their outdoor patio which is also dog friendly which is a plus :)
This place has run out of salad twice, they served me a brown avocado today. Beer is their strong point, they food is not.

The beer was good, as expected, but dont order the reuben sandwich. I ordered it but the roast beef was tasteless, sliced very thick, and had a bunch of fat and gristle. Worst reuben Ive ever had.
The food and drinks are pretty good....the portions are extremely small but it was tasty.
This place was amazing! We were driving through to get to Austin! We googled breweries and chose this one, we got sat few mins after walking in. The server went over the beer menu in detail! I had the blood orange IPA, that was phenomenal. My gf had the watermelon one which was great as well! We also ordered beers to go. You can get a 4 pack of 25 oz cans to go for $24. Now food, we ordered the questo to start which was yummy. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich which was tasty, a lil too saucy so if you dont want it dripping with sauce, ask for it on the side! Overall we loved this gem of a brewery!!!!

Beer is very tasty and they have interesting selections, slightly overpriced. Food was definitely overpriced. Tacos and salsa were overly spicy and could not enjoy it. My wife’s salad was large and well made. Server forgot about us and seemed impatient, probably had too many tables. We bought some shirts which she added into the dinner bill. She should of rung them up separately. I had a hard time figuring the tip. I do not like the payment system.

Burger was decent, beer was good, but $28 for that burger, some waffle fries and a single IPA is outrageous. I shouldve paid more attention to the bill before signing it. Otherwise, the patio is spacious. I dont think the misting fans are necessary on a 79° evening in Dallas.

I ordered same items as well as their Buffalo chicken dip (had good flavor but portion was rather small).... Food was much better. Read the reviews and thought we’ll slow service can’t be too too bad because it will give me time to carry on a conversation with my friend.1. Had to ask for some assistance to place order for drinks.2. Waitress was pleasant, she did check on us often3. Atmosphere was nice4. Ordered food - came out rather quickly and they seemed to have a good crowd.5. Ordered waffle fries - they seemed little under cooked or not cooked enough. Yes we sat outside but we didn’t let the food sit long enough to be as cold as it was. Taste was ok but I’m sure would have been much better it would have been hot.6. Ordered the margherita flatbread. This too came out rather cold. The bread was like it was microwaved and not toasty like from an oven, and the cheese wasn’t that great. This too had a great flavor BUT could have gotten 5 stars if the food would have been hotter and tasted fresher.We had our drinks, laughed, enjoyed our conversation and because we enjoyed each other’s company - we ate the food and didn’t complain.I might try it again... crossing fingers food will be much better.
Inside is nice, with a sports bar feel with TVs placed around the room. Our server was extremely nice, but unfortunately she seemed to be the only employee that actually wore her face mask. The two bartenders had masks, but wore them around their necks, as did most of the other servers. The kitchen staff did the same, and we even noticed one employee taking his masks off and flinging it across the kitchen. I understand it’s difficult to constantly wear a mask, but it’s currently required and it was frustrating to see the staff so blatantly disregard this requirement. Wearing a mask around your neck or chin isn’t helping anyone. Also the beer is sub par.

Exploits and takes advantage of new staff. Tells them they are good to go to take tables after several long days of training. Then, have them work long shifts taking tables by themselves only to subsequently confiscate their tips and give them to other employees while paying the new servers minimum wage. Then fires the servers if they express that they feel this is unfair.
Excellent food, great beer, the brewery here is really good at brewing tasty beers. Excellent service. Clean and tidy, nice sports bar/restuarant atmosphere feel, but way nicer than a sports bar. Will definitely be coming back!

Great experience eating on their patio. Tables were spaced out nicely, inside people were packed in shoulder to shoulder on bar stools, no thank you! Food was excellent and who knew a jalapeno beer could be so awesome!
First time visit, husband and I split the burger with both chips and fries, very good. We both tried in house brews and they were very good. Can’t complain about the service. Atmosphere is relaxed but noisy for us old folk. We will go back when the weather is cooler and check out the dog friendly patio.

The beer selection here is good. The atmosphere is great. Plus there is lots of outdoor area with tables for small groups. They also allow dogs which I love! The food is.. not so great. Its not the worst ever, but its like its trying to be better than it is if that makes any sense. I think theyd be better off just treating their menu like more basic bar food because thats about the quality it is. Its too extra without delivering that extra quality honestly. Servers are always super nice but look frazzled, like they have too many tables and not enough servers to cover them. Otherwise, really cool place. Alcohol and atmosphere are the real reasons to come to this place.
We live nearby, and we initially thought this was just a brewery until a friend invited us and we discovered they have great food, too! Weve been there for dinner and beers a couple times, and we highly recommend White Rock Alehouse to friends. We just got home from eating here this evening, and our service was excellent - our server, Aaron, was such a nice guy, and he provided prompt, friendly service that went above and beyond. If you ever get a chance to stop by, the food is great, the service is excellent, and all our White Rock neighbors should definitely stop by!
Drinks were 😋 atmosphere was awesome food was average. The gentleman who attended us was 🤦🏻♂️ got lost a couple of times 🤪. The hostess was below par. As I enter she looks at me dumbfounded. I can see it says please wait to be seated but after looking at each other for I would say 15-30 seconds I ask should I seat myself. She looks over at me and ensures she draws my eyes back to the “wait to be seated” sign 😆

Waitress forgot about us. She came back 30 minutes later and said as much.The sandwich I ordered without mayo had apparently had mayo that was wiped off. When the server came over he stated “oh is there still some mayo on there?”I understand in times of covid we should offer a little leeway and i do. But wiping off the mayo accidentally put on a sandwich rather than fixing the issue legitimately is pretty poor.While I will continue to patronize local restaurants to hopefully help keep them open, I will be crossing the white rock ale house off the list of places im willing to go.
