Long time customer of this fine establishment. Excellent Audi and VW service at a fair price. Always a pleasure doing business with them.
Bob was amazing friendly and answered all my questions with patience
I have a 2014 Audi A7. Bob repaired the broken engine mounts. He did an excellent job! My car runs so smooth - like new! I will continue to take my car to him for any repairs. Their service is fast and they do excellent work. Very pleasant to deal with, and I highly recommend them!
Awesome shop, great service and amazing value.
Great service! Highly recommend
Trustworthy and friendly service.
Bob is a good guy. Took care of my aging A5.
Bob was very knowledgeable and reasonably priced. I will be returning for additional work and parts.
I have a 2011 Audi Q5 with 180,000 miles. One of the main reasons I keep driving this car is that I know Lord of the Rings will take care of it. Bob has always been honest and doesnt try to sell services you dont need. If you own a Volkswagen or Audi, Bobs your man.
Bob was super helpful, accommodating, and entertaining.
Bob is so friendly, honest, and knowledgeable. Fair prices and good service. If you need a mechanic for a VW Beetle this is the place!
Super nice employees and very affordable
I usually get a little nervous going to mechanics but not when I come here. They walk me through the problem vs. telling me. It’s an amazing experience!
We have really appreciated his hard work, honesty and care that he invests each time we have had to visit. I have never found such a reliable mechanic who has his customers interests before his own. We highly recommend Bob and his team if you have a Volkswagen or Audi.
I left a five star review last year, but I feel the work Bob and his team perform deserve more than just stars. Someone had posted about this shop on Reddit due to the clever name, and I was glad to see it was in the Dallas area. Ive been going here since 2015, and Bob has done everything from changing windshield wipers to swapping out the transmission of my Audi S4. Definitely a mechanic you can trust!
Honest shop and will from now on only take my Audi here!
I came in with my Audi S4 6MT today (7/20/16). I had an issue with the check engine and then the EPC light in the middle of nowhere on the TX, NM border. I called all 3 Dallas Audi dealerships yesterday, and 2/3 had me wait a week for an appointment and a loaner car. The other was able to get me in today, but made sure I knew there was going to be a $175 diagnostic fee just to plug the car into the computer. This rubbed me the wrong way.I called early this morning and explained my issue while Bob listened patiently. He had some suggestions, and said, give me a call back after lunch and I can tell you what time to bring it in. I did that and met him and his daughter (receptionist) at 2pm. He plugged the car in and told me exactly what it was, and gave me my options. I paid under $50 for his time and very helpful advice. At this point the car drives beautifully, and I have a game plan in case the issue recurs. The peace of mind is invaluable, and I feel relieved that I know where to take my car for all my Audi needs in the future. Thank you Lord of the Rings.
These guys are the VW KINGS, 100% recommended
Bob and his team were recommended by close friends who have trusted Lord of the Rings for several years with their TTs and Jetta. My 2018 Passat is running as smooth as the day I bought it after Bob discovered the shimmy I felt was a bent wheel. Beyond warranty service, this is where I go now.
Wow. First time going to Lord of the Rings. As a guy who does a lot of work on my Audi myself, Bob knows what hes talking about and will give you an honest opinion with a very in depth explanation as well as works with you in terms of what your goals are for your car (I have an older Audi). I was told my car needed thousands of dollars of work due to a failing suspension system from a different mechanic. Skeptical, I took it to Bob and said that it had a couple things here and there, but wouldnt replace it. Literally saved me thousands. He definitely earned my business long term and if you have an Audi I would absolutely be taking it here.
This is the only place I will let work on my classic Volkswagen
Just stop searching and go here already.Im skeptical to the max on car repair stuff, Ive gotten hosed before, but Bob was an incredibly professional, friendly and straightforward person to deal with.He spoke with clarity about what the issues were, answered every question I had and worked with me to get the best, most affordable solution. This is basically one of those fairytale autoshops that are one in a million. if you need work done on your VW, just go to bob, you wont be disappointed!also, bonus points for having a film-accurate full size cast of Han Solo in carbonite!
Great customer service, Pauls the best machainc ..
I am only leaving a review because I am a huge LOTR fan and this is by far the most clever business name ever. Good job, sir. Good job.
As of 11/15/16, I own a 1981 VW Rabbit convertible and LOTR is the ONLY shop in North Texas that knows how to maintain and fix. I have went through eight shops in Fort Worth and Dallas and no one has as much knowledge as they do. THANKS for being amazing!
Total scam artists. Bob looked into my eyes and lied to me about needing a new transmission. In actuality, it was a $1000.00 repair and not a $5900.00 new transmission. Nice try, Bob. There are actually reputable shops with honest owners who are not trying to con their customers. V Dub Folks has gained a customer for life. So long LOTR.
I had an amazing experience with Bob and his crew. I was visiting from Austin for a business day trip and my drivers side window would not come up. Ahead of me was a horrible rain storm. I pulled in and they had me back on the road in less than 30 minutes.Great atmosphere and I wholeheartedly would recommend Lord of the Rings. I know the car repair industry is full of sketchy people, but Bob and the guys (and gal) most definitely do not match that description. You would be doing yourself and your vehicle a disservice if you dont at least give them a shot.
You can see why Lord of the Rings has been around for 50 years - Bob is extremely knowledgeable and helpful when troubleshooting. He doesnt just want your business; he wants your lifelong business. He wants to be your go-to for VW/Audi care for years to come, so he takes great care to not maliciously damage that relationship (a trait rarely seen in the auto mechanic world these days). Ive used LOTR for 4 different vehicles now over several years, and as long as I live in the metroplex, Ill continue using his services.
Amazing group of mechanics they know exactly how to repair any vw or Audi.
Outstanding service, great prices. HIGHLY recommended if you own an Audi or a VW.
Bob does a great job and understands my Audi.
I have finally found an excellent shop to take my VW GLI! Recently had some work done on my car at another place that serviced our dealer cars. They used the wrong parts and my car was basically coming apart. I brought my car in and spoke with Bob about my experience and how my car was driving. They brought my car in and put it on the lift so we could see what was going on. Only one of the four bolts was holding my sub frame together and the one that was there was the wrong thread. Bob had taken the bolt out and showed me what they used verse the OEM and you could tell the thread was completely different. Bob gave me a complete run down of what was wrong and showed me each and every part that was broken or needed attention. After that we went inside and Bob gave me an estimate for the work to be done. I gave them the go ahead and they had it ready in two days. My car now drives great and I really could not be happier with the service I have received from Lord of the Rings. If you have a Volkswagen I highly recommended Bob and his team.
Great honest people, very knowledgeable and professional!
Honest to a fault, uses nothing but top quality components.
I dont know where to even begin! After reading all the positive comments on Yelp and Google reviews, I thought I would go ahead and get my car serviced at LOTR. THAT WAS A HUGE MISTAKE!!!!!!!!! It turns out Bob the owner and typical Mr. Nice Guy, takes an annual trip to Disney land or world with his daughter. He leaves behind his ill trained monkeys and professional whack jobs to run the place. I serviced my Audi for a simple oil change and they forgot to put the bottom engine cover back on. Luckily I checked my car for this part, because this is a commonly stolen piece from mechanic shops. I know it was there before I took it in because I took a look at the bottom because I was going to do the oil change myself, but went with them because I thought their price was fair in comparison to the Audi Dealership. Since I live in Copper Canyon it is a real hassle to come out that far and argue. As it stands, its my word vs. theirs and I doubt they will cough of my part or reimburse me for it.TOTALLY UNSATISFIED.Lesson to be learned: CAVEAT EMPTOR
Very helpful friendly knowledgeable
Good diagnosis; fast service; but pricey to the point of almost as expensive as a Audi dealership but not quite there; service quality is hit or miss
I was overcharged for very little work done to the car. Mediocre customer service. Extremely unsatisfied with this business.
Imagine trying to make this into a movieThe hobbits gotta get rid of an ugly Volkswagen Beetle car by throwing it in the biggest junkyard possible, while the greedy car salesmen want to take it back, even though it has no use
Mixed experiences. But gives right diagnosis
Sucks
