Trail Head Cyclery is an excellent shop. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I mostly interacted with Lucas. I didnt get the sense that they were trying to make the sale, they genuinely wanted to help me. Theyre also very knowledgeable about bikes, of course! I needed new pedals and bike shoes for my bike, and was having trouble finding something that worked for me at other stores and online. They were able to help me find exactly what I was looking for.

Amazing bike shop with people who know what they’re doing for very reasonable prices. I was fixing up an older mountain bike that hasn’t been ridden In 15+ years and my dad (used to mountain bike competitively) and I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with the rear derailleur. Turns out it was a bent hangar and they even fixed up the breaks for free even though I said I would fix it after I got the bike back. The repair took a day longer than what they initially told me, but I think it is completely acceptable considering the circumstances. Also my bike basically felt brand new once I got it back. I officially found my new favorite bike shop.

Decided to stop by today and get a second opinion on a couple of Rockshox forks. The staff here didnt disappoint and gave very honest feedback. Scott particularly assisted me and shared some good knowledge as well about different suspension systems and custom tuning, as well as where it makes sense to spend based on the rider. Though Im sure everyone is as nice as Scott, and therefore Id totally recommend this shop.

Just had a real bad experience with their service team. Recently bought a specialized enduro back in May from trailhead and the sales team was extremely helpful. About 3 weeks ago the rear carbon wheel cracked and I called trailhead to ask about the warranty process. They said bring it on down and they would help me out. When I dropped it off, they said it should take about 2 weeks. 2 1/2 weeks later I called for an update and I am totally aware that this is out of their hands and on specialized. Just wanted an update. I get some guy named Andrew on the phone and he was extremely rude. He proceeds to tell me in a condescending tone that I know more than he does and if they said 2 weeks it will take 2 weeks. I said I don’t understand as I dropped it off 2 1/2 weeks ago at which point he says oh well that’s because we just shipped it yesterday. Extremely rude and left a bad taste.

I thought trying to buy an $8000 bike frame ( full retail) would be easier. I’m not sure what middle school they pull the “ expert staff” from but I’ve gotten a more professional vibe from Taco Bell. Endless trips to go ask the corporate manager doesn’t give a good feel. Seems more like somebody decided one day to open a bike shop with their trust fundThen trying to collect tax on out of state shipped item seems like another California thing to gouge the customer. I’d find a establishment that respects customers who are paying top dollar in an industry that will once again drop after the hype that has been instilled during covid

I love this place. If you like mountain bikes, and if youre looking to buy one, this is the place for you! I got a Nimbus Kevlar-lined road tire, and a pair of ram bars for my cross-country bike, and I must say that the service was great! They let me choose which kind of tire I wanted to get, and made sure that I knew what I was in for, with each tire that they brought out. Ive had that tire on my bike for a whole year, and not even one little pinhole has shown up. Be careful though, everything in here is pretty spendy, be prepared to spend over $50 for even just smaller items, like bike lights, pedals, handlewraps, etc.

Made a pre-order back in February. I called on April for an update and was told bike will arrive on May 3rd . Called on the 3rd of May and then was told it will be ready in two weeks. Called back in two weeks then was told not ready until the 24th of May .. Called back on the 24th of May and then was told not ready because of some issues with the cranks .. So I felt like the pre-order stuff is a waste of time especially if they are just going to bounce you around on the due dates... I lost my patience and demanded to have bike even if it was not completely built... So yeah the whole thing was a waste of time that I will never get back 😡🤬

Everyone is nice and friendly. However:I sent my road bike here several months ago for tuning. Though they do not have much experience with road bikes, they took the job and spent relatively long time on it. They changed cable and tuned my bike. However, not long after, I had to send my bike again for tuning since the bike sounds eventually louder and weirder, but this time I chose a shop specialised with road bikes. They told me that the cable inside my bike was crossed and it was not well tuned last time.If you have a mountain bike, maybe Trail Head is for you. But if you have a road bike, you probably want to find someone specialised in road bikes other than here.

I have been lucky to find such a dialed and readily available (products, info, education and events) LBS such as Trailhead. Have had exposure to at least 8 different shops, this one had me put on the brakes and look no further. Sat down with the owner and shot the $h!t with him, getting great education, advice, and updates on MB geometry and suspension not knowing Lars was the owner, THEN had the privilege to ride with him and watch him shred for a Lee Likes Bikes class, and can that guy shred! They always have the parts I need, they give me education on how to install or improve, and even ride. Old shop was very nice, new shop is very sexy, great selection, good price point, and bike selection is very tempting. I bought a Specialized Camber Comp 29 from this shop a couple of months back. I didnt get the time to write a review until now. I had no issues and a great experience while buying the bike, though I would have preferred some more inputs on how to pick the right size etc. After a few days of riding the bike, I didnt really enjoy it. So I called and told them I wanted to return it. I understand the shop will try to convince me to keep it. However the convincing seemed excessive to the point that it was overbearing. I really didnt like it so I wanted to look for other options. Also like some other shops they werent offering free lifetime tuneups after buying the bike.Generally shops have a 30 day return policy. For me it was a few days only. I understand some shops also charge a storage fee, since there was labor involved. But this shop told me they would charge a whopping $500 if I return the bike. That totally seemed unfair. After several calls with the owner I finally gave up and sold the bike on Craigslist. Ended up with Santa Cruz 5010. Absolutely love the bike...I am sorry but I did not have a great experience and would not recommend this place.

Update again: I received email from Las on 11/5/19, he explained theres error in the work order and refunded me the duplicated charge, also apologized for the not so good experience I had to go through. I really appreciated he took time to make things right. Also I do have good experience with other shop staffs in the past so I adjusted the rating and review.I dropped my Ibis ripmo to install new shifter/cable housing and cable a week ago, plus rear derailleur adjustment. I tried to explain to the staff the internal routing seems have issue because the cable housing will stuck in chainstay near bottom bracket (ripmo has molded tubes for internal routing so basically cable/hose can run through without routing tool), he then rudely interrupted me and started talking about internal routing requires fishing cable though and how yeti bike internal routing works etc. To be honest, I’m not a yeti owner and I really don’t care about that, I just want to let you know the issue I had and maybe get some insight from you why this happens since I think trailhead cyclery must have a lot experience with ripmo as a big ibis dealer. So when I tried to explain my bike doesn’t require fishing cable and my concern, he interrupted me again and basically expressed “you screwed up that’s why you’re here, so shut up and leave the bike”, of course, in a slightly more polite language. At that point, I was thinking that’ must be the worst bike shop visit in my life until he give me the estimated cost: $160ish ???? Really, for install new shifter/cable housing and cable, plus rear derailleur adjustment??? The only part needed from the shop is probably some housing, so let’s say install new shifter/housing/cable, $30?; install new chain, $20? Adjust rear derailleur $30? Assume you charge me $10 for housing, I’m just really curious how did he come up with the number....Update: picked my bike today and heres actual charge: $20 for install chain (kinda reasonable), $20 for 1 feet of cable housing (really?), $45 for install shifter; then a separate $58 for install shift cable/housing/adjust rear derailleur... well I would think when you charge install new shifter for $45, that would include install cable and adjust derailleur already, but obviously for this shop its not, for $45 they literately just mean clamp your shifter on handlebar....When I questioned the charge, what I got is Unfortunately thats the economy.Anyway, really upset.
