I usually come here for certain spices and wonton soups I cant find at my usual market. This time I seen some delicious looking desserts in the bakery. Be warned though, they look much better than they taste.

The store is clean, and organized. Theyre hot food section is authentic Mexican, and very good.. I love the bakery. They have a wide selection of cakes, and Mexican breads.The prices are reasonable, and can find almost everything you need to make a great latin meal.

Great Mexican style market. Lots of fresh produce, full service deli with seafood, hot food bar, aqua frescas bar, and bakery. I saw lots of different people in there, Middle Easterners, African Americans, and Asians shopping getting there needs and extra treats. When I see that, its obvious they are truly meeting the needs of the community, both in products and in customer service.

The produce looked very fresh. Also ordered a takeout item...forgot the name of it, but I likened it to a pulled beef, very very tender & seasoned wonderfully...very tasty. Would like to try their juices...watermelon, horchata. Glad I discovered this chain.

I had not been shopping for over a year, and its always been drudgery. But this time I had a blast! I found the pork roast pictured here. I got the always delicious tamales, and a few treasures. I still hate the shopping 🛍, but this full service store fills my baskets perfectly.

Northgate Market is a jewel. Their prices are great. They have a really good variety of dried fruit and nuts. The produce is wonderful. The staff is very helpful.

Great place for produce and meats. The salsa bar is phenomenal.

We enjoy shopping here. They have the best tortillas and salsa, and their selection of fresh hot peppers is better than anyone else’s. The only negative is that the aisles are kind of small and people tend to bunch up against one another.

It was very disappointing compared to Cardenas. Very limited selection of fresh ground spices--Oh wait, there are none. No spacious eatery with Mexican food-it looked more like a taco stand. No whole seeded watermelon, which you can usually only find at Mexican grocery stores these days. Very disappointing...

When Trader Joe’s and Wholefood don’t have what I need to create a Mexican dish I know Northgate does! As a Mexican I love that there’s a market on the westside that caters to my needs. I came here because I was making fresh mango popsicles and I needed chamoy, and I knew Northgate would have it, and of course they had 3 different brands to choose from!

Just. Moved here to California because of the military and our last place before was Kansas we live in playa vista area we found this place because my daughter gets her nails done next door we are so glad we found this place you find good stuff you dont find at other grocery stores theyre produce is at great prices the employees are all very nice they all speak English and Spanish they have fresh tamales and pan dulce and aguas frias me and my daughter like it here

I love this supermarket. Had everything I needed and was very clean.

I visit this supermarket regularly. The quality of produce is excellent, on par with places like Ralphs or trader joes. However, its way cheaper here, typically less than half the price for the exact same products. Veggies and fruits are always fresh and theres a good selection of standard choices as well as more exotic ones.They have a good selection of housemade guacamole and ceviche as well and a really good selection of other Mexican delicacies. Definitely recommend shopping here, makes no sense to pay way more for the same quality products elsewhere.

Everything about this place is amazing. Employees are so nice and dod is fresh and at a good price. The best part is there amazing dash carts and I love that they have hand sanitizer

Parking is difficult on weekends, however late nights on weekdays the store is enjoyable to peruse. The shopping carts are disinfected and beer is usually a good price. Lots of fresh herbs, vegetables and fruits.

I come here regularly for the great prices on produce, the great Mexican food, and all kinds of desserts. I would note, there is definitely a strange odor near the meat department, if that were gone I would give 5 stars.

This place is great for cooked food Im so happy I found it when I typed i, tamales they are self serve but it was also such a great variety of Spanish decent food, from pupusa to pork ..I am in heaven ..cant wait to go back ..rice and beans was great too.seriously it was like have a restaurant to go easy peasy

I usually go here to there kitchen to get Aguachiles so spicy and bomb. The tamales are tasty as well as the rest of the items they have here. Everything is ready just choose, pay and enjoy, that quick.

This place always has a variety of food, that you sometimes wont find in other markets, I like getting the tamales from here the cook they have now does a good job, not every market is the same as they all have different employees

I love Northgate for Mexican, Central and South American ingredients. Fresh produce, amazing tortillas made in-store, panderia for sweets, full service meat and seafood counter. Beer, wine, liquor, hot counter with prepared food, agua frescas. Clean, bright, friendly staff and great prices!

Disappointed with this location. Last year I found mold on their sugar bread and today I was craving tamales. $2 ea for something that barely had any cheese inside and no taste.

When you are looking to make yourself some good tacos, or a great menudo this is definitely the market to visit you will find everything for your Mexican dishes .

What can I say. This market is a neighborhood market. Has a bakery, meat Dept like some of the other bigger markets. What I like about this place is the price of the fruits and vegetables. The quality is good and workers are always busy doing things. I can count on the market having all the groceries I need. And if Im in the mood I can stop by their hot food counter and get a meal or snack. This is a Latin market but I see all ethnicities come here to shop. It has ample parking and is relatively clean. The downside? They make me want to eat the not so healthy options of food as I leave. Not their fault I have no will power. Lol

This is honest opinion since it abit over priced. However they do have really good corn bread. The tamales are pretty good. However the chicken tamales is a bit bland.

Customer service can be improved! Called looking for fresh pork rind. Man in meat Dept who answered said he was looking at 35 lbs of rind, so yes, they had. Went to store, waited in line at meat Dept, was rudely told that if they had rind, it was in case. Employee walked away before I could explain I had called and was told it was in back. Luckily, a meat Dept employee was at meat case (which had no pork rind) so he went in back and cut some for me.

For many years, this has been a Mexican market close to my apartment. Since it became Northgate Market, the quality has improved. It is still the best place in my neighborhood to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. The prices are extremely reasonable compared to the major Supermarket chains, but the quality is high. Onions for example time to be 2 or 3 lbs for a dollar, while at the major Supermarket chains, they are frequently more than a dollar a pound. The market carries not only Mexican food, both prepared and the ingredients, but other ethnic foods as well. It has a broad selection of dried and fresh chillies, and the prices for spices are also very reasonable. You wont find everything here but for the things they carry its hard to beat Northgate.

Their kitchen area is so slow paced and there was like 5 people in there just running around looking lost. If you come here, the food is great just be ready to wait about an hour for your order.

Vegans, this place has a very wide variety of produce, which includes cactus, many pepper types, all kinds of fresh herbs, and much more. All is at really great prices. Their canned veggies are at normal prices, but the variety is excellent. They also have hot sauces galore. This place is a whole food vegan gold mine.For the rest of you, check this place out. Great prices and variety seems to be their thing. There is too much to list, but if you visit once you will see what I mean.

A westside treasure! Friendly with fresh produce and so many Mexican treats in the bakery and wine section you could spend hours there looking. Whole fish dinner with rice, beans and plantains for under $10 says it all. Freeway convenient and a free parking lot.

Lately its been so much more expensive than any other stores. It used to be a very affordable store, but now its even expesiest that trader Joes and sprouts. Some.of the staff are very nice though.

Awesome. They are keeping this store as tidy and clean as the public allows. It is a pity that people leave carts scattered around in the parking lot, but I guess it literally comes with the territory. This store chain ia a great resource for all things Mexican food.

I really love going to this store. The customer service is absolutely phenomenal. The prices are great for almost everything, some things are not priced that great, but thats not really what you would go to that store for anyway. I appreciate the customer service at the meat counter and its always a pleasure when checking out. Where I come from there are not a lot of specialty markets like this so I really appreciate having this right in my neighborhood now.
