Great atmosphere! I love what theyve done in the new location; it feels much cozier but still airy and fresh. Nice selection of baked goods to go along with lovely coffee and tea, and the outdoor seating is perfect for fall days. The honey bee latte was yummy and I plan to visit again soon 😋

Love the environment, the color scheme, and how welcomming the staff is. The coffee was sooo good and loved their fall choices. I’d definitely come again- especially to support local!

I got the Pumpkin Spice Latte and it was good. A bit expensive for the size. I think they should get bigger sizes for the price, if they do have different size cups the person who rung me up didn’t ask me or tell me. It was my first time there so I had no clue what they have. I also had a Blueberry Scone which was very dry. The shop is nice though, the decor is very retro but nice. I may go back if I’m up that way because like I said the coffee was great, almost tasted like Starbucks Pumpkin Spice latte.

Very yummy stop. Pleasant indoor seating. The pumpkin chai I had was super good - and Im not a big pumpkin spice person. The pastries were yummy - I think some are from Konrads bakery in Lake In the Hills - which is my absolute favorite bakery in the area. There is some seating outside the store and Crystal Lake downtown offers some pleasant park areas nearby. Good to stop and enjoy a warm beverage on a cool fall day!

My refresh roller from Grounds coffee bar literally got me through this awful pandemic, and having to ride the train so often it has helped keep the germs at bay. So this stuff which i love in a perfume roller bottle, it really has been become my life saver oil in a bottle! It has a nice aroma of fresh oranges and literally is just the best, makes my skin feel great! Also, it has lasted me 1 full year! I can not believe how grateful i am for this stuff, and if I can order it in batches i would! Refresh is the best! Thank you!

Damn good cup of coffee. Friendly, efficient service. Bit of a wait (due to holiday crowd) but WELL WORTH the wait. Very good value. First time customer; will certainly return.

Got my regular chilled Mocha after Saturday morning tennis and was very disappointed .Was not blended well leaving a very bitter taste and could not even begin the drink. Shops was very busy so didnt even try to return. Will try again next year but at this time reluctant to recommend

Best coffee in CL this side of Daily Projects. Good but not overwhelming selection, served by a friendly staff. Great for a quick cup before catching a train. Big bonus points for renewable paper straws!

Decent coffee, good ambiance, great for reading a book in a soft green chair.Blueberry lemon scone was delicious even though it was cold, oatmeal was not good (old?), and the coffee was good.

I feel like Grounds is a hidden gem. They have such a cool and small atmosphere that delivers great coffee consistently. Their sweet treats are very tasty and the people are always friendly.

I came in with my friend sarah and we loved our experience ! Our baristas (Isaac and Becca) were absolutely lovely! They were so nice and attentive to any of our coffee needs! This latte was to die for! Would totally recommend it!!!

Lots of quirks this place needs to work out.just minor things like music was overbearingly loud, microwaveable quality sandwiches, coffee boiling hot in paper cup,muffin was cold tasted like it had been sittin in the fridge all day, cappuccino wasnt made right. understocked coffee bar. looking for good coffee, not a caffeine dealer

Very cool place! Had a lavender iced coffee which was delicious. You get to hang out in a beautiful setting with reclaimed wood furniture. Doors are open in fine weather like today. Very enjoyable. (Unfortunately no public restroom).

Really cool place, nice staff, with okay coffee. Sometimes the latte is great, sometimes it’s just okay. They are a little more pricey than other places. Its a beautiful location with a few outdoor seats too.

Quaint place with some awesome cold brew and killer gluten free pastries. The lemon poppy seed cake and chocolate brioche mini bread were delicious. They dont have much seating unless the weather is nice and you can sit outside at the 4 tables they have, so prepare to grab and go.

They take coffee seriously. Their cold-brew coffee has clean notes and is great for summer. The staff is knowledgable and always smiling and making you feel welcomed. Its fun browsing around the reclaimed shop while waiting for your beverage. Cleverly designed decor shows a commitment to clean and innovate use of reclaimed wood.

Best Coffee in Crystal Lake

This coffee shop is one of the best I have been to. It was very warm and cozy and the barista was the best I have seen.. We were traveling from downtown Chicago on the metra and due to a few hiccups along the way, we ended up at the coffee shop while we waited for uber. It was around ² pm today on valentines day. She was so warm and friendly and when we explained to her the crazy horrible day with were having, she gave us complimentary coffee. She was great at making suggestions for lunch and made us feel right at home. The coffee was hot, fresh and tasted amazing. Perfect on a snowy day. I could go on and on about how amazing it was. To the barista who helped us- thank you so much. I wish I would have gotten her name. I hope your manager gives you a raise. Because you deserve it. Your kindness really made a huge difference in a less than desirable situation. Thank you. Great place, amazing service.
