My family and I were in Connecticut delivering our child to college in Middletown when our car started making a funny noise. The guys at Complete Automotive Repair took care of me. Id actually called another place first, but they didnt have time for me. The folks at Complete Automotive Repair not only made the time, but did amazing work. I would literally have been stranded, a thousand miles from home, if not for them.They could have gouged me, knowing my desperation, but they did not. When I explained my problem they suggested it might be my brakes, but I knew that Id just had mine replaced. I didnt say anything. When they came back with their estimate, they said, Well, its clearly not your brakes, since theyre brand new.. and found the real problem, the ball bearings. It doesnt get more honest than that. On top of that they were friendly, timely, and professional.I feel like I really lucked out. We could have been screwed over by someone willing to take advantage. They told me that they no longer advertise, but instead use the quality of their work as their best calling card. I can see why. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone.

I decided to bring my truck in to John after reading numerous great reviews about his business. I can confidently say that the reviews were accurate. He stands by his work and is not in business just to get your money. He is fair and honest and very passionate about cars. You can tell just by talking with him. He was able to fix an issue Ive been having for a while after a Dealership put one of their alignment guys on my truck. After numerous returns to that dealership and a very reputable Alignment shop in my area I was ready to give up. A hidden gem in Cromwell, Middletown and Berlin (at the very end of Sebethe Rd off Rt 372 Burger King). John and Debbie are great folks: caring, understanding and skilled at what they do. Excellent quality work at a fair price, and they stand behind their work. Years ago I had a part fail that John had replaced. An EXPENSIVE part. This was not Johns fault in any way. Yet he got the part replaced and ate the labor cost to reinstall it. Most establishments woulda just left me on my own to resolve the issue. Do yourself a favor. This business is owned by hard working, honest people. They took care to tell me what was wrong with my car in simple terms and not mechanic jargon. They told me what needed to be done to fix my car and how much it would cost up front (not making repairs I didnt agree too and billing me after, which happens a lot). AND they texted me updates and information about what was going on throughout the repair. While it was costly to get my car repaired (unavoidable with what needed to be fixed) I feel like they actually took care to diagnose and repair my car; not just get it running to get a pay check from me and get me off the lot. I appreciated their honesty and professional work ethic. I am usually super skeptical of repair shops but these folks earned my trust.

Just found out this place in Cromwell. Great service, honest people. They took a good care of my car. I went there for a belt replacement. They also fixed the battery problem. Definitely a good place to bring the vehicle to service.Two months later, i brought my another car to the shop. Same great service and experience. Turned out, i needed to replace the real wheel bearing and both break pad and rotor for front wheel. It was a lot of work, but they tried their best to get the car back to me as soon as possible. Much better and more detail than the dealership. They truly treated their customer great!

I got a flat tire around 3 pm (they close at 5), and didnt have a quality spare on hand. I was towed to Johns shop on about 30 minutes notice, and they were able to grab new tires for me, get them on my car, get them aligned, and have me out the door to make a 6 pm appt. I wish that this place wasnt all the way out in Cromwell; its hard to find a good, honest shop with great customer service and management.

First off, I would like to say that John and Debbie were extremely accommodating. I was able to get an immediate appointment, and the work was done that day so I didnt have to worry about finding an alternate means of transportation. I knew there were other issues with my car unrelated to the problem I brought it in for, and John clearly explained them to me without being pushy about getting these repairs done.I ended up having all problems taken care of, and I didnt have to spend the day waiting at the garage. Debbie gave me a ride home and picked me up as soon as my car was ready. This is A+ service I have never experienced at any other auto repair shop. On top of all of this, they also offer a 10% discount for all veterans, which was a nice surprise. I will continue to use CARS for any future vehicle issues I have, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and efficient repair shop.

I came in off the highway after my oil pressure gauge suddenly began fluctuating wildly while driving. John and team checked to make sure pressure was okay and decided it was a defective/busted oil pressure sensor. Replaced part and topped us up on oil and had us back on the road for $226 (205 before tax) in under an hour. Everyone was very friendly, I was offered tea and coffee and got to pet their sweet dog while I waited.

I recently visited this shop and was very impressed with John and the team at Complete Automotive Repair Specialists. While on vacation in CT, my car had some issues with the air conditioning and the overall ride. My car has 145K+ miles and we drove a quarter of the way across the country to arrive in CT, and it had been a while since we serviced the car.I was seen right away and the team checked out my primary concerns, but also did a full review of my car. I told them that I was planning to drive home at the end of the week and to let me know if anything needed to be fixed ahead of a long drive. The team found some critical issues and fixed them, including replacing all four tires (tread was very low), replacing the rear wheel bearings, and replacing the rear shocks (we were already aware of this issue and happy to get this replaced with the other repairs). Additionally, they recharged the air conditioning and changed the filters.During their work, they noticed that oil was all over the front axle. I told them that I had a front axle replaced within the last 6 months. The issue they found was a leaking axle seal that was damaged during the axle replacement. The team at Complete Automotive Repair was able to get on the phone with my mechanic back home and talk through the issue. My hometown mechanic ended up paying for the service due to the damage. This was really above and beyond what I expected.Overall, I know I had a lot of work done on my car, but I never felt like the shop was trying to cheat me or tell me that something needed to be replaced when it really didnt need to be. Through my conversations with John, I also got the sense that this shop was very focused on their quality of work and the condition of the cars leaving their shop, and ultimately their reputation. The service was quick and thorough, and my car rides and works very well now. I wish this shop was near where I live now because they are truly a full-service, high-quality, auto shop. I have recommended this shop to my family and friends in the area and I would certainly visit them again if needed in the future.

I’ve gone to Cars, LLC ever since 2012 when my husband and I moved to CT. They do the best work out of anybody around town. I’ve taken my car there for standard maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotation, as well as more serious repairs. I drive an older Nissan Murano, and they have seen that car through all sorts of issues. I’ve never had a problem making an appointment with them, and they are always clear when they explain any problems with the car. The best part is the hospitality. Whenever my car needs to be at the shop for a few hours for repairs, they will drop me off at home so I don’t have to wait there, which is especially helpful with a toddler in tow. You can’t go wrong with this family-owned business.

Price seemed fair for parts and labor, took care of what needed taking care of(including a needed new headlight and windshield wiper!) and nothing elseThis would be my mechanic if I lived in the area, very hospitable and seemingly honest folks, cared about my journey, called the next day to check in, etc.

We had the drain plug fall out of our Subaru Outback on the highway in Cromwell on our way from Maine to NYC. Luckily we were close to an exit and were able to get the car parked and turned off before the engine seized up. John got us right in and had the car completely checked out and had us back on the road within an hour.

On vacation and had a check engine light started blink. Stop at lube service place that was going to charge 160 and needed my truck all day. Went to joe he check the code cleared it and checked for misfiring in 10 minutes. Said it was probably some trash in the fuel line or something minimal. Easy fix. If it breaks on this trip I will have it towed here to be fixed even from maine
