My go to photography store. Mark, the owner, is an encyclopedia of knowledge of both digital and film photography. Always happy to share his know-how. Check out his basic photo classes. Thats where I started. Good supply of photo stuff. Park on the side, or in back.

We had old vhs-c cassettes for many years but with no way to view them. Powell Camera Shop was able to transfer them to DVDs for a low price and they look great! Highly recommend

Mark and Frankie are the best. They always try to guide you to what meets your needs, even if its not the most expensive thing they could sell you. They also take time to explain things to you so you can make an educated purchase. I have shopped there for over 25 years. I would rather buy from them than buy from Amazon. The personal customer service and attention are worth it.

This is where I take my film to be developed. It costs me about 10 bucks to get negatives for a roll of 35mm film. I always get my film back in 3 business days and theyll call you to let you know its ready to pick up. The employees are friendly and so are the other customers Ive encountered there. If youre a student, I believe they offer a discount on some supplies (such as darkroom paper).

This is wonderful camera shop. Friendly, courteous and knowledgeable is how I would describe everyone that works there. The shop itself is always well stocked with everything digital as well as film. They also do a great job of printing and processing both digital and film. I have been shopping there for quite a while now and I have to say that the service hasnt changed since day one. Even though it was a busy day, when I first walked in I was greeted and assisted as soon as was possible.I enjoy shopping at this camera store and would definitely recommend it to anyone without hesitation.

I was excited to find the place and thought everything was running smoothly until I came in to pick up my rental and was shocked to be told there was a $1,500 deposit. The worker there wasn’t very helpful. I was hoping the owner was there because he is nicer.

Had repairs done on a film camera i bought from a pond shop and it came back as if it was new. Works perfect and i am satisfied. They send it out to be worked on and you dont get a qoute until they check it out. I never do that because of the risk of it might not working good as it should and losing money but they did a great job on it. A camera shop that i can trust with my equipment.

I was undecided on a flash and diffuser. The owner took the time to help me by showing all his flashes and diffusers and the difference between them. I stop by every time I pass this area just to look around sometime to specifically explore options. The owner is a photographer who has the same passion for photography as many of us do. Prices are comparable to the large store but at Powell, you get the service of a country store.

I went in to see if they can fix my Tamron lens and they saw on their computer that i still had warranty. I love how helpful they are! Amazing service, honest people, clean shop.

Powell Camera is a very good place. Its not Samys where they have every piece of pro item in stock. Its mostly for beginners to advanced. Although Im sure they can order whatever you need. They are one of the two photo shops i grew up in Covina buying all my stuff from. Very knowledgeable and great to talk with.

Nice to do business with everyone in the store. Courteous and knowing merchandise seems to be their strength. I used to mostly shop on the internet until I started doing business with this local camera shop. I have been very pleased with Powell Cameras ability to take care of all my camera needs.

Disclaimer, this review applies to the store if it is still owned by the same people that owned it in 2009. If it has changed ownership since then, I will gladly revise or remove my review. I liked the store at one point, mainly because they were the only ones around and I like supporting small businesses. I was happy until I had a problem with a special order; and they were not helpful at all, once they secured the order. They sold out the day a $3000 camera came out, and said they had one more in stock when a friend went to buy the camera... The problem is, they didnt hold the one I had ordered weeks before and told me on the phone that they never got them in. They also werent honoring a special bonus from Canon, with extra accessories; thus, I permanently took my business elsewhere. 4 SLRs, and 6 PASs, and 9 lenses later, Im glad I did.

I wanted to upgrade from the Nikon D50 I have been using for years to take photos of guitars in my store, Strings Music, for use on the internet.Powell was able to walk me through everything that Nikon has to offer. I needed something simple but very high quality.They understood exactly what I was looking for and were able to guide me to the perfect camera and lense. While these are not cheap, I was prepared to spend a lot more. And, they take trade-ins!If you are serious about your next camera and are able to visit this shop, forget the internet and Best Buy!Support this small real camera shop.
