About 2 years ago I bought over $2000 in eagles, rounds and bars from this shop. I subsequently brought two other friends who bought a substantial amount also. It had been some time since I had been here, so I came back the second time, I stepped in and re‐acquainted myself with the staff but I think they forgot, I had purchased from them. This time around I was browsing and I only had a few hundred to spend. So the level of interest and service just wasnt there. The third time I came they didnt even bother to get up and help me. I think they felt I was a low budget customer so maybe I wasnt so important. Long story short I wont be shopping here anymore. Little did they know I was interested in buying a over 10k in silver which I bought somewhere else. Thanks but no thanks.
Approximately 4 or 5 weeks ago I walked into Covina Coin and Jewelry.I was looking for specific peices, and Tracy helped me with a verry nice Graded Gold peice.I explained to her that all coins Im collecting is my daughters future inheritance. Tracy said in that case Im more then happy to help you.We came to a verry fair price, along with a few items Inhad for trade a lil calculation and Tracy was able to give me my asking price on the items. I was verry happy with my peice I picked out and my whole transaction.Tacy was able to make some money it worked out good for the both of us.Tracy is verry friendly and helpful. Im verry happy to have found her shop.
Reasonable prices-Spot and decent premium for 5oz silver bar, customer service was so so, didn’t seem like the young man cared to do more business on other pieces of precious metals, overall transaction was good.
This place is no good. The lady, looked at my silver instead of properly weighing it and said $10, I brought in some old jewelry. Customer service was not an option, the lady who works here, didnt even bother to get up or greet me as a Customer. I am a Navy Veteran and I would suggest any Veteran or anyone else looking to sell gold/silver to go someone else. They ask for over 5% spot price, 5% is ok, however if you are paying over this your actually taking a hit. They want about 10% over spot, which is ridiculous.Coin and Silver exchange in upland is a great place to do business, not here.
A traditional Mom and Pop coin shop! Theyve been at this location for 25 years now, so they must be doing something right. If youre looking to sell old coins, go in with an open mind. A coin that you looked up on the internet, doesnt mean thats what its worth! Everything has to do with mintage (date and mint-mark), and condition! If you want to buy or sell bullion, they are the best in the San Gabriel Valley for inventory and pricing!
I was looking to buy 2000 MILLENNIUM SETS. Called the stored number. Talked to BIG LEE. He was rudely screaming into the phone the entire conversation. Said he would check his inventory to see. I called back a couple days later, he answered that he wanted $100 each, the entire time rudely screaming at me into the phone. Tried to negotiate the price, he continued to yell at me how much he wanted for the sets. Price was was to high. I finally just said screw it. Do not know how this place stays in business . Worst case of unprofessionalism ever. STAY AWAY !! Lee is a complete basket case !!!
Worst and most overpriced coin shop I have ever been to in all the 11 years Ive been collecting. On top of it they actually lied to me about pricing to get me in the shop. Horrible business and extremely overpriced. $39.50 for a 2012 american eagle when any other shop is close to $33 or less even.
Be wary of this place. Read the reviews. Once you enter the store, you are either hit with Big Lees screaming, or Davids bad attitude. If you visit dealers all over the area, they all have the same horror stories about dealing with the owner! Nobody likes to be leered at- or wants a bad attitude when entering a business to either make a purchase/ sell an item. Avoid
Wish zero stars was an option. Walked in, and asked if they had any gold half grams, got an attitude from the Young kid. Kid sat there for three minutes before he helps me and had to pay $33 Per half gram over spot. I’m not a first time customer but I am a last time customer. ($60 per half gram of gold.)$30 online.👎🏼
If you have coins to sell, go somewhere else. The reason they stay in business is because they buy lower than the collectible value of the coin and then sell higher than the collectible value. I stay away. They treat everyone selling like you’re desperate to sell...
They gave a good spot price. Thank you for that. Semi-friendly. The young kid could brush up on some social skills. Life aint all serious kid. The business it self 5 stars. Id come back
Always friendly Great products and really informative.
I just bought my first silver bars and was very happy with how I was treated. David the person who helped me was pretty helpful explaining things to me. I wanted to buy some coins too after I saw everything they had there. I will be back for sure.
Great people great business! I would highly recommend buying, selling, or loaning with them. Especially things like Gold and Silver
Ive been there twice and both times theyve been awesome. They were very straight forward and professional the first time I was in which is refreshing after dealing with a few shady pawn shops that said things like sorry brother, we cant pay you melt weight for your silver coins with .999 1 oz. Pure fine silver stamped on them that weighed out to the thousanth decimal place on our own scale, but Ill give you $10 for the pair and thats the best I can do. I mean theyre only face valued a dollar anyways, Id say youd be coming up big time. On my second visit I stayed a little longer and kinda chatted up the guy there while drooling over all the awesome currency and coins. He even through in a 1937 $1 silver certificate after I professed my love of paper currency as a bonus. I was stoked. Great store, good people with loads of knowledge, and very fair prices when buying and generous offers when selling. I would highly recommend.
Snooty staff unable to accomplish a single request of looking at half dollars. The clerk acted as if I was speaking another language, super frustrating, avoid this place!
Very friendly and accommodating. The only place I buy coins as they are very competitive .
I received excellent and professional customer service both on the phone and buying/selling process.
Good people, great service. Personable and professional
Called and whoever answered was so rude and sarcastic. Automatically lost a potential client.
Great group of knowledgeable, reliable and professional people!
Worst place to go young man with hat was very lazy.checked my coins worth nothing.checked my rings he said they were fake and not real, scratched them and still said were fake.Took them to a real jeweler and he checked them got a 100$ 3/14/17 they lost out on money and possibly good coins.if I could rate no stars I would.
Sold me a fake 20. Dishonest people.
Was not real busy, and saw us in a short time.
Dont go here. Dishonest people. Do yourselves a favor and scale your gold before you go in. Watch how the low all you.
I called one afternoon asking about some coins. A lady fumbled the phone around for several minutes before even greeting me. She then transfered to a gentleman named Lee. After about fifteen seconds of speaking he yelled at me then hung up. Maybe thats just how the West Coast does things...
Called, very rude, awful service
Snobby customer service
