The Latest Thing is another of my favorite metaphysical and gemstone stores in the OC. I recently came by just before the new year looking for a specific book by Judy Bell called the Crystal Bible. Its one of the best books for gemstones and their vibrational qualities. Unfortunately, this time they were out of volume 1 but had volumes 2&3 on hand. Just like the Rolling Stones say, you cant always get what you want, but if you try you might find, you get what you need. Well, I have pictures. Lots of pictures to show you the amazing energy of this store. Its suuuuper easy to find right in Newport Beach right off of Old Newport Blvd.next to Pub33. Being that its a new year, everyone is starting new beginnings and new habits. The Latest Thing is a great place to pick up all the stuff you need to help facilitate the process. Stones, books, tarot cards, incense, statuettes, essential oils, everything you could think of to help get you started on the right path to your best 2021 ever!! I have picked up many gemstones in the past here and will post pictures of a few as well as the last book I bought there, The Book of Stones. Its amazing too, and I highly recommend it. A great place to get all your spiritual needs met!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this store! Just an incredible experience upon entry! Peaceful energy, soothing ambiance, and filled with color! So many items to choose from down to trinkets in baskets! I don’t recall a time I have left with just one item. Staff is super helpful and if needed, they will help you pick out the PERFECT gift if undecided. I can’t say enough about the wonderful, delightful, and patient staff! Just visit and see for yourself!!!

I went in for tarot cards and found so much more. The store has a large selection of merchandise and is very clean and everything is well displayed. It was a joy to shop there. And the person working was so nice and helpful. Ill be going back again soon and have told all my friends about it.

I love this store! I work for a local treatment center not far from where The Latest Thing is located. We often take our women on field trips to the store. Being in recovery myself, its nice to have a store to purchase 12-step items from. They have chips for various lengths of sobriety, book covers, apparel, jewelry, and numerous other items all related to recovery. Every item they sell is unique and meaningful. Along with recovery related items, the store also offers spiritual gifts such as crystals, books and oracle cards. The staff are extremely helpful and nice! I highly recommend this store.

I absolutely LOVE this store. I have been coming here for over a decade for all of my spiritual needs. Whether it be a spiritual reading from one of their amazing readers, or finding the perfect personal development book, crystals, candles, personalized recovery gifts, inspirational art ... oh - I could go on and on. I am truly grateful for visiting The Latest Thing a couple of weeks ago. The staff is very empathetic, compassionate and knowledgeable. I explained my circumstances to them and was given the right suggestions on what to use and proper instruction.Prior to my visit, I had been released from my job. I think the staff saw the look of distress on my face and the fear in my voice. I was more at ease after their help.After many days of applying what they showed me and a little patience, things have changed. Today I am working with the same company but in a BETTER role now with better pay and more flexibility. The timing couldnt be better as I am expecting my first child later this year and I am happy to have manifested new opportunities thank to The Latest Thing.I am looking forward to visiting the store again soon to share how things have been. Highly recommended!

The Latest Thing is the best specialty store in OC. The staff is very helpful and kind, always willing to go that extra mile to get you what you need. I have shopped there for the last 11 years and have never been let down with service or selection. The recovery items that they specialize in it’s probably the best selection in California itself. I also get rocks and crystals from the store they have a beautiful selection and are knowledgeable about what they have for sale. Anytime I’ve needed a specialty chip will make it up for me with a smile on their face. Their selection with recovery items is the best. If you haven’t done so already go check them out you won’t be disappointed.

Super dope shop! Perfect for thoughtful gifts. Thousands of different things to look at... candles, stones, oils, jewelry, books, etc. Theyre also a 12-step shop, perfect place to find a gift for reaching those milestones! I thought it was great, bought a patience bracelet and a few car chimes. Will definitely be going back!

The Latest Thing has always been one of my favorite stores of all time. I feel at home when I arrive, surrounded by spiritual literature, crystals, incense and so much more. The amount of inventory and range of product offerings is insane. You will find what you are looking for, whether it finds you or one of the lovely employees guides you to it.

The latest thing is an experience not to be missed. Walking in the door makes me feel good. Great vibe, amazing employees, beautiful gifts, inspiring self help books, and they have fairy items! I always visit when I am in Costa Mesa.

This place is AMAZZZINGGG, especially Lisa!! Definitely a unique variety of 12 step gifts for myself and for others. I ONLY order chips/coins from here, and in a pinch they ship to me nearly next day maybe 2 at no extra charge. I live about 2 hours away so most of my ordering is done online or on the phone, but I’ve been in the store and there’s a magical ambiance. I’ve seen a lot of other places with bedazzled chips but at The Latest Thing their customer service is ALWAYS on point and if any jewels fall out they fix it and ship it right back (only happened once). I love this little gem & I will continue to return for all of my 12 step gifts & merch!

Whenever somebody has a sobriety birthday and I need to get them a coin or a gift this is definitely the place to go. They have anything having to do with a a and recovery in this store, and if you need a gift or book or guidance and anyway this is definitely the place to go. The crystals here were beautiful! They have a lot of good items in this store. I was super excited to come in and I’m hoping maybe it was an off day, but the energy was not great and the employees seemed to not be in a good mood.I went in to feel good energy but that wasn’t really the case. All of their crystals were really nice though and they have a great selection of them. Will definitely be cleansing and clearing them though.

Hidden treasure along Newport Blvd this store offers everything from self-improvement books to unique gemstones and even gifts for those in the recovery programs like AA. They are covid compliant and I love buying new journals and trinkets here.

Ive been coming here for about 8 years for gifts for others, books and other things, they even gift wrap at no charge. Its nice and tranquil the employees are helpful and honest. One time they accidentally charged me twice for 1 item I called them and informed them that I would be stopping by after work the person on the other end of the line was very nice and said sure. But to my delight they sent the money back to my account at the end of the day I never had to go in they asked no questions. I LOVE THIS SHOP!!!YOU ALL ARE AWESOME!!!!!!

Well the two ladies we interacted with were about the most unwelcoming and unfriendly people Ive come across in a long time. My girlfriend is into rocks so we go in say hello, nothing but a weird look. Still ended up buying her 4 rocks which came out to $29.00 by the way, and she saw one last one at checkout and the lady said they were 50 cents, my card had already ran and not wanting to run it again for a 50 cent purchase I had like 30 cents in my pocket, I gave it to my girlfriend. Now maybe Im old fashioned but Im the type that if youre 20cents short I say dont worry about it, especially after paying 30 bucks for a couple rocks but no she makes her walk out to the car for 20 cents. I wouldnt recommend going to this place.

Best store for recovery products Ive ever seen. Every 12 step group book that you can imagine. Very friendly staff too. Lots of cool gifts and coins too.

I used to love the store, but at my most recent visit the lady who was there was extremely rude and unhelpful. It felt like I was bothering her by shopping there. Theyve raised their prices on a lot of stuff, but if I have to pay $25 for three rocks and its not marked beforehand how much they are then I have a problem. I dont think Ill be back

This is a good place to come to for crystals, they arent so high priced like most places in Orange County, definitely isnt as cheap as Arizona, but you can get what your looking for.

Love it! Such a cute, smallish bookstore. I love coming in here every now and then to see what they have. It has good selection of books and I could spend tons of time in here. Good things come in small packages.

Great store. Very good selection, lots of staff recommendations with detailed reviews. The sale priced books in the front are well selected, mostly high quality literary fiction, mysteries, etc. They also have some nice notebooks, art supplies, and pens.

This shop is super cool. Great selection of spiritual items, and sobriety paraphernalia. Come in here with my sponsor to get a big book, and I was astounded as soon as I walked through the door. Theres just so much cool stuff in here. The staff was so friendly, and I just loved the atmosphere. Definitely gonna be coming back.

Fantastic local independent bookseller. Great selection & prices. They have pretty good events, readings & book-signings too. I had to stop going here because I would always leave with a dozen books, and ran out of room in my apartment. It was an addiction. Im better now...mostly.

I just love this little bookstore! They have a great selection of interesting books, cards and gifts! Its definitely worth stopping in if youre in the Costa Mesa area on CA. There are two parts of the store next to each other, so dont forget to visit both parts.

Good variety of metaphysical and program related merchandise. Staff os helpful...sometimes a little too helpful. This kind of store is best when you can freely explore what is available. Wish they were open a little later.
