What a joke!! Took my Dodge Ram 1500 Daytona 5.7 hemi in for a sound I heard coming from the engine a knocking sound. It wasn’t a rod knock because it wasn’t with every revolution of the engine. These guys kept it for 2 days all to call me and say “yeah man sorry this motor is toast I can start looking for a new one for you” I couldn’t believe it they wanted 5 grand! All just to get it home and find out the knocking sound was the water pump bearing went bad. New water pump 50 bucks runs perfect. These guys give mechanics a bad name!

So bad experience, after they repair the transmission of my car I need back the next week for the same problem that was Wednesday 14th 2021 and the still have may car, and when I call they only tell me I call you when are ready thats happen more a week ago.

My Acura has been a good car with 200k miles, but just stopped recently. I graduate from college in 6 months. I can’t afford a new car and was worried about spending too much money on my car. Eric was great and listened to my concerns. He told me there was very little he could do over the phone. I needed to bring the car in to see what the issue was. In the end, it was a minor issue that they took care of the same day. I feel lucky to find a local shop I can trust.

Honda CRV started giving off all sort of lights within the console, everything under the sun plus brake issues...WTH! Pulled into AAMCO and not the Honda dealer since the COVID thing has the family being frugal with everything now. They knew it was a battery issue right away. Thank the lord it wasn’t mechanical! I got quote that was fair and we were off and running within 15-20 mins. Good vibes, No complaints. I’ll come here instead. Thanks!

Transmission problems are just a pain. I always freak out when my maintenance light goes on, but this time I knew where to go- Aamco! They always treat me respectfully and are understanding with whatever issue I come to them with. Erik was so helpful and did the repair in no time. Now Im back to driving around town in peace. I was referred to Dave specifically at this location by a friend who is an experienced mechanic. Not only was my experience here quick, professional and reasonable, but also personable. Its never easy to have to spend money on a car unexpectedly. But if you have to do, at least go here. Youll get an honest assessment with an accurate length of time to do the work. Keep this number in your phone for the next time youre towing your car and dont know where to tow it to! I even got a ride. Thank you Dave, I hope I dont have to see you too soon!

Customer service is an A+. Honest shop with fair pricing! Got my transmission rebuilt and also a tune up for super cheap compared to the local competition. Dealt with Body Shop Mgr Eric who gave misleading information on my car service and over charged me too!! DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!! And had to pay extra for use of rental car because vehicle not ready as promised!!!

I will never take my car to an AAMCO again. I was charged $170 to replace a gas cap that I could have bought for $8 online. I received the free check engine light test and they said it would cost $150 to look at the car and do a test that took them no longer than a few minutes. They then charged me $20 for a gas cap, which is $8 online. I wish I hadnt wasted my time and money.They appear to be honest and trustworthy car mechanics, but they completely overcharge.

Please do yourself a favor and stay away from this AAMCO. I dont know if its the new management or I just had an isolated bad experience. I went to aamco to replace my front wheel bearings and had been there 3 months ago to replace the valve cover gasket and for a transmission fluid change and flush. It has only a couple of months since Ive changed my transmission fluid and it was burned already Im pretty sure they never changed it and charged me for it because even the mechanics had dumbfounded looks on their faces when I told him it was changed two months ago. Anyways for this current visit the inform me that I need to change my rear wheel bearings as well after test driving the car. I told him I had just changed them two months ago with them so how is this even possible. They told me they would change them because its under warranty. I told him I would bring the car so they can replace the rear wheel bearings again. When I tried to turn on the car my battery was dead they had to jump start me and apologized for draining the battery. I drove to work and my battery was dead again so I figured how to get the car back to the shop and they told me the battery was no good even though before I took it in I never had issues with the battery but they had drained it all the way to nothing. I complained about transmission oil change and the rear wheel bearings making noise. They charged me for the battery drove the car and then changed their pitch said the technician had misdiagnosed the rear wheel bearings and that they were fine and no work needed to be done there. Frank manager told me the car was ready to be picked up. I asked him if the transmission oil had been changed he said oh I forgot come pick its up tomorrow. This place just tries to get away without doing work and charging you for it and then when they realize something was their fault they dont admit to it. He even had the audacity to offer me free motor oil change Ill never come back here even for free service.

I went to this shop located in Costa Mesa Harbor and Wilson, with the idea of repairing or replacing the transmission of my car and when entering the office that was empty of clients I found the employees in the telephones, after Wait a while without receiving a greeting or attention I decided to leave. Looks like they need more customer service training. I will not return to that place, and I will tell my friends, relatives and neighbors the kind of poor service they give in that dump.

NO NO NO NO!! Absolute worst experience with an auto shop Ive ever had. DO NOT GO HERE. Was absolutely robbed with unnecessary work that ended up causing horrible issues that were ultimately irreparable. Had to take my car back 5 times and they still never got me sorted out, problems kept getting worse and worse. The last time I brought it in they sent my entire transmission out of house because they were incapable of fixing their mistakes (main bearing blew 3 times, wrecking gears and destroying case). Problems so severe that I ended up getting rid of the car. I cannot stress enough how much I regret ever taking my car here. $6,000 down the drain, plus the cost of rentals since they had my car in total for over 2 months. This place is a joke. Zero communication the entire time, nobody ever called me to update despite my specific requests to be kept in the loop. They got new management and fired everyone that worked on my car and I hoped that would help things - brought the car BACK in was promised everything would be taken care of, picked it up a week later and all of the problems persisted. No change whatsoever. ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS EXPERIENCE.

Do not deal with Frank. He is terrible at customer service and very rude. This company does not do good work. I had my purge valve replaced a year ago and now I’m having the same problem with it and same codes pulled up. They won’t fix the terrible job that they did cause its “not under warranty.” Definitely stay away from this company

Im not a certified mechanic but I usually do most of my own repairs and Im pretty good under the hood of a car. That being said, I usually know when to throw in the towel and seek professional help. I took my car in because of a stalling and oil pressure issue that my code reader wasnt picking up. I also complained about a misfire that was causing some rumbling. Several hours later, I was called and told it would be $1150 to replace the camshaft sensor, belt, belt tensioner, and fan clutch. I told them to just do the camshaft sensor since that would get it on the road and I could do the rest. $362 later, I had it out of the shop. I asked what brand sensor they used since the repairs cost so much, and they said Delphi. They charged me $149.88 for the sensor; the most expensive Delphi I could find was $50.73 (I know some brands can be upwards of $90, but this is AT LEAST a 100% markup on parts cost). They also charged me nearly two hours of labor; this is a job Ive done before (on the same make and model) and even an amateur can do the job in about 30-60 minutes after watching a youtube tutorial. And these are professionals!All this to say, if you want to pay twice the price and have additional, unnecessary, work hoisted on you then definitely go to these guys (I can attest that my belt and fan clutch do NOT need replacement, even if the tensioner might). Otherwise, find a more reliable mechanic.

The other reviews are correct, having my car towed to a different AAMCO was the best decision I ever made. Frank should not be manager and even refused to release my car to me and his reasoning was because “ I said no”. Do yourself a favor and go to Santa Ana or Huntington.

Do not waste your time and money on this place! I would like to registered my honest testimonial about this place is these people who work there! I took my car to see the possibility of repairing my transmission, according to erick, who answered me at the store, it would cost cheaper than to put another transmission and he informed that they do it! I left my car for two days (and the communication was very bad on AAMCOs part). After these two days he informed me that my repair would be more expensive than the other budgets I had, however, as he had sent my car to the labor I would have to pay 700usd to take my car back, or opt for exorbitant amounts quite different from what I had budgeted elsewhere. This was an offense to me! I spent 700 usd for nothing and still my car came back with the front of the kneaded! Erick said he would check the cameras but until now nothing was done! Do not go to this place!

BEST PLACE TO GET YOUR CAR FIXED. DONT EVEN THINK TWICE!!!I was driving my car the last week and noticed my transmission wasnt working right. My check engine turned on and a bunch of dashboard censors. Its never fun to take your car in... you have to plan for someone to pick you up or inconvenience them. Its just a hassle nobody has time for! I called a couple places and Dave called me right away to see what he could do to help me out.I walked into AAMCO and was greeted by Dave. Very friendly and inviting. I was going to get a rental (which would of costed me $200-$300) but he let me have the loaner car (FOR FREE) because he didnt want me have to wait. I am in sales and know a someone that is good at his craft. Dave is one of a kind and if you have any car issues whatsover.... this is your only spot.Trying to find a place that wont rip you off and take advantage of you is very hard. Dave and I were joking... he actually cared about me and wanted to help me out ASAP. I know I have found the place where I am going to take my car too for anything and everything. Dont hesitate Dave is one of a kind... especially in the car repair business. He made my day!

Ck engine light was on, so called Pep Boys on 55 re:free ck engine reading. Guy sd wd cost $85 for the code analysis, come on by. I said I have a chart of codes, so just the free reading. Too busy today!Called this AAMCO and they said no problem. Friendly, happy place. George waited on me immediately and delivered me the code readout within 10 minutes. He said they just want people to come by and get to know them!They definitely have my business!

Charged $408 for a spark plug replacement and coils check. The charges included ~1.5 hours of labor and $113 for just the spark plug. Just called Auto Zone and they said a new spark plug for my vehicle would be $5.33. I couldve done the entire thing myself for under $50. Never going to an AAMCO again. $408 for a spark plug replacement.
