Rack N Road Costa Mesa rocks! I was having a hard time finding all black rack and cargo box that wasnt going to take over two months to get and install but they managed to do it all in about a month. I was going to do a standard clamp on rack and box but when I told them I just wanted whatever was going to look the best and be the most quiet they recommended doing a built in rack. It looks so beautiful. Im soooo glad I didnt do the clamps. My car looks so much cooler with it built in. Everything looks so custom and natural. My car looks so upgraded and and of a higher quality with my new rack and box. Im so happy I went here. These guys are knowledgeable, great with recommendations, speed, and quality service. So glad I didnt go to the other places I checked out first. This is the spot. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Bad Service! Bad attitude.. talking politics.. not very friendly to people of color. Very uncomfortable . Definitely do not recommend. Especially white boy with tattoos.

My first visit to the store bc i lost my key, gentleman explained to me that he will have to try EVERY single key until the right one turns, he was very polite, friendly and professional, Thanks again for helping me!!

These guys are awesome! I was looking for a Yakima rack for my Tacoma and they were very helpful and friendly. Yakima parts are on back order for months but they went out of their way to find what I needed.

Fantastic! Even though it was at least 15 minutes of waiting (on a Saturday in an early afternoon) to be helped, it was worth it. The employee who helped us was very nice, friendly, helpful, and very professional. We got what we were looking for in one trip.

I came to this store in an effort to support local businesses. In this time of business crushing rules, I decided to avoid mail order as much as possible. I want to support business that is staying open and paying their employees.Well, when I got to the store, they were only letting a few people in the store at the time. Because of that there was a massive line just to walk in. It’s a real turn off to try to support local businesses, and then have the business basically say we’re not interested in helping you. Needless to say, they had their chance. I ended up ordering the parts I needed from another store that didn’t refuse my business.

Bought many items from this store for years and service has always been very professional. After covid hit I went back, they were very busy and they made me feel I was a nuisance to them. They were rude, made me wait outside when there were no customers inside, after I paid for the item they put the item next to my car and left. I regret not buying directly from amazon, wouldve received better service for better price

Outstanding they have everything you need. They actually inconvenienced themselves so that I could get out of town. They helped me out a couple years ago. Still had me in the computer. The Costa Mesa Rack N Road makes spending money pleasurable. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely worth checking out.

Originally ordered a 700$ Yakima roof rack set for my car 2 months ago. They ended up ordering the wrong fit kit for my car when I went to go get it installed. Then I changed the order to a Thule set that took another month, and still no parts came in. Neither could they give me an answer when they will come in. I lost my patience and just asked for a refund. I was extremely frustrated with how they handled things there. Customer service is awful. Instead of helping me with the situation, the employees just blame each other for the mistakes made. Better off getting it somewhere else.

Pricey, but had a hitch mounted cargo box in stock when everyone else had to take a week to get them.

Fast cutreous service..

I purchased cross bars for 450$ and drove to Long Beach to get them fast. They wanted to charge me 100$ for installation and said it would take two hours. They lowered the price to 85$ ish. I decided to give it a try by myself. Ended up reading the installation document for about 20 min and installed the thing in 15 minutes and I had no clue how to do it. Thank you Rack N Road!!!

Jason is the man!! He took care of me when nobody else could squeeze me in before a family trip. Saves the day!! I would also highly recommend them for quality of work.

Roof and bike rack paradise. I bought a Thule roof rack here five years ago and had an exceptional experience. Today Jonathan helped me get a new bike rack the fit my tow hitch and saved me a ton by have a used one that fit my needs exactly. I saved a few hundred dollars and their knowledge is invaluable! Well worth the drive!

Very courteous staff that helped us get a cartop cargo carrier for our Hyundai Santa Fe. Salesman wasnt too helpful at selling us on the individual features and pros/cons of the carrier versus basket, and he didnt share details of available discounts, warranty, or return policy until asked. But once we settled on an item, he was very helpful at making sure it fit our car, helping us understand tips for installation and the locking mechanism. All in all, wed return again.

Not only was Chris very friendly, he was also very helpful. Straight up tells you what he can and cant do. Tells you where to go for what he cant. For what he can do, I needed a new trailer wiring harness for my older truck. I was thinking it was going to cost at least $$$ and that I would have to order it, in the end, I only spent $ and he had it IN STOCK. Best part? HE HAD ME PLUG IT IN AND TESTED IT before I even left!!! All the while, professionally juggling the barrage of customers that were flowing in. Thank you Chris!

Unbelievable customer service. I have purchased a few rack systems form this store and they have always gone the extra mile to take care of me. My most recent experience with the store manager,Jason, was amazing. He took care of my rack issues despite the fact that Thule had pretty much ignored my needs. There is no need to shop around for racks anymore. Any better price would not come with the peace of mind that you get with these guys

This place has EVERYTHING!! I called 25 stores down in San Diego even REI but no one had the Thule crossbars I wanted. This place did. Also they had the very hard to find cargo box mounting hardware I needed. Super helpful as well. Highly recommend this place.

I was very disappointed with my recent visit to Rack n Road – Costa Mesa. I suppose they would be okay if you know what rack you want and have experience with installing and taking on and off. I do not. During the sales process, they assured me that post install, they would go over the functions of the products so that I completely understood the process of using and removing bike rack/crossbars. They did not. The guy was so casual about it all that he gave me a box with parts, two tools and a strap. He never explained what they were for or how to use them (with the exception of the extra strap). He forgot to give me the keys for the locks, luckily I remembered to ask for them. I think he was new and not sure about the products either because he wasn’t able to directly answer my questions and wasn’t clear in his explanation of how to for the bike rack and crossbars that I purchased. He did know that the Thule Aeroblade Edge Crossbars that I purchased shouldn’t be taken through a car wash. The sales person failed to inform me of that. At $240 EACH crossbar, I would think that might be something they would want to inform me of before I made the purchase.Bottom line is – as a first time buyer, I was looking for customer service that would help me know how to remove, put up and operate for use the purchased crossbars and rack, but instead spent $1000 on equipment that I don’t know how to use and can’t take through a car wash. I was hoping that a retailer who literally only sells racks and calls themselves the Rack & Hitch Superstore would be able to provide a higher quality of customer service than the internet so that I could safely and properly use the equipment I purchased. Unfortunately that was not the case, instead I’ve been on google watching videos and researching myself. I will not be returning to Rack n Road or recommending to anyone in the future.

One of the most honest company’s I’ve ever worked with. When the products i ordered came in short on parts they purchased them for me and didn’t even ask for compensation. When they didn’t fit they modified them for FREE. Then they found out that a product was cheaper then estimated so they gave me money back!Active duty discount too. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

**BEWARE**I purchased an installation of a hitch and electrical set up for my fiances van. Setting up the appointment through Amazon was easy, and I thought a fair price. He drove down there, and they spent three hours installing it, by the end it was nightfall. They NEVER checked to see if his breaks or turn signals were working after adjusting the electrical portion of the install. My fiance drove a black van, at night, 20 miles home on the 405 freeway without any back lights. We found out about the problem when he got home, by then the store was closed.We took it back the next day, got there when the store opened, Sunday at 11. They made us wait an hour before even looking at the van they broke. Oscar was the technician servicing in. It then took another two hours to tell us that they needed to service other customers. We demanded a refund at this point, and they said they couldnt authorize it. That Monday we called the manager Jason, who said a refund wasnt possible and to bring it back for a third try. We said no, called the owner in Seattle, who finally allowed the refund. Jason still fought us, not wanting to give the money back. We had to be insistent, and by the end of the day, we finally got the refund. We now have to use that money to take it to a mechanic, where it is now.I Will update once we know what they did to our Van. Horrible service, and will they will never admit to doing anything wrong. Save your money and take it to somewhere else.

Fantastic installation of a complete Thule SUP rack system on a 2013 GMC Terrain (the car came without side rails). If you have a bare roof, this is the place to go. Josh and his team did a great job, on time, and with no pitches to get extra things I didnt need. I cant say enough positive about the level of service and attention to detail, which is important when putting holes in the top of your car. They also spent time after the install to help me understand the system I had purchased, so that I could get up and running quickly. Everyone else said it depends, they said we can do it for the set price of $250, and do it in under 3 hours. I had to drive from San Diego to get to the shop, but more than worth it.

I recieved pretty good service at this spot. I do however think one thing is kindof lame. I bought a 400$ bike rack and it was supposed to cost money to get help with installation. How lame. I just spent 400$ on a bike rack

The staff here is incredibly helpful. They were fine with me asking a ton of questions, and were more than happy to help in any way they could.

Pricey but the work was perfect. They kind of have that market cornered around here it seems. I paid 700 dollars for 2 bars drilled into my roof. Again I will say they did perfect work and delivered on time....just pricey.

Friendly and helpful staff. They have a cargo box rental program for $30 a day. On the day of return if you like the box or another model, it can be credited towards the purchase of a new cargo box. Rented a Thule Sonic XL but purchased a step above with the Inno Wedge 660. Dont fall for popularity or looks of any brands until you get to try it out in the elements. I battled epic wind, rain, and snow and the Thule felt like flimsy. The locking and plastic latching mechanism was a pain to deal with. I highly recommend considering Inno boxes as they are better constructed with quality hardware and details.

I paid to have a complete rack system installed on my car, 6 days later it blew off my car breaking my board in 2 pieces. Rack n Road was very quick to say that they had nothing to do with it and that I would have to deal with Yakima. Well 2 months later and still damage to my car, broken board and no rack too haul paddle board. NEVER WILL I DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PLACE AGAIN.... Horrible customer service.

They were helpful initially. They didnt have all the pieces to my roof rack. Said they would have them to me soon. Once they got my money forgot to send me the piece that was missing from my system. I had to call them a month later and remind them they still hadnt sent me my stuff. They did get it to me but after I had to call them.

Tried to do business, called twice throughout the day but no one answered, left message but call was not returned. They apparently do not hire enough staff, but they have a recording explaining how important my call is to them.

It was a HORRIBLE experience. Please Do NOT take you vehicle here if you value it at all. I was referred to Rack and Road by a friend, and Paid $378.00 to do a simple tow hitch installation with wire. Easy enough right? WRONG. After waiting 2 1/2 hours when they said 1.. leaving rack and road, my vehicle stalled numerous times...I had to push my car out of the street, then called the shop. They sent over a tow hitch Installer to come see if they could solve the issue. They Couldnt. When installing the hitch they messed up the wires. Tripped a fuse, and screwed up the cars computer system..Non of which they were authorized to do. I had my car towed from where it broke down.... to the dealer. The dealer invoiced me, and directed the problem to the work Rack And Road had done.After I picked the car up from the dealer I had noticed that when I accelerated, and I braked there was a grinding sound. When I looked under the vehicle, I noticed the installers screwed the bolts through the hitch, and the bolts were way too long and the top was resting on the under carriage of the vehicle creating a grinding sound. These guys have no clue what they are doing, and are probably stoned as heck while doing the work. Rack And Road did refund me, but it was NOT worth the trouble. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM BUSINESS! I highly recomend taking your vehicle some where else.

I tried to return something to them. Based on their website, it says I could do so unless it was completely used. What they mean by this is that if you make even one scratch on it, then they wont refund you your money.

Horrible installation of my trailer hitch. When I hooked up my trailer, I have no brake lights and both left and right turn signals make only the right signal blink. To top that off, they rescheduled the first install, cause they couldnt figure out how to do the installation. To make it worse, they called me 3hrs after I dropped it off to tell me they needed to reschedule. Then it only took them 2.5hrs to actually do the install.Place is worthless and the guys there are just more worried about getting out of work.
