Price of ground beef was way above industry average. I didnt notice until I got home but the sell-by date was the same day as when I purchased it. Two days later in my refrigerator it went bad and thats when I checked the date. It was at this time I realized I purchased it on the last sell by day.

Only place I buy my meat from. Always clean and well packaged. And meat department staff is awesome. Very friendly and helpful.

Large selection of groceries, candies, produce, soaps, jars, anything youd ever need. This is the place to go if youre ever running low on anything. Need milk? Theyve got it. Need bread? Theyve got it. Need eggs? Theyve got it. Want anything frozen? Theyve got it! I will continue to shop here.

This store was nice until I went into the bathroom. There was feces on the wall in the mens room. And lots of it, looks like it had been there for a while. Do they even clean their bathrooms regularly.

I love Tops. I do most of my shopping here because Walmart is just ridiculous. Tops is better stocked definitely. The sales are great and everyone is friendly and helpful. The meat department has made me fresh breakfast sausage many times. The quality at Tops is greatly appreciated.

Deli Department needs to take care of customers first! Not finishing a job then customers!

The employees are very polite and the store is clean. Still maintaining social distancing with or without masks.

Not happy that they have no signage requiring a mask to enter. Their staff is not allowed to refuse service, all corporate tells them to do is to offer a mask. They can not ask people to leave if they do not comply. Why does TOPS corporate not follow the law in NYS? Why are they willing to put at risk their employees and the vast majority of shoppers who do wear masks? I have shopped at TOPS since 1976 but I am thoroughly appalled at their lack of concern and even though I appreciate and commend the store staff I ask myself Why do I continue to shop here?

Weve recently started shopping at this store. We keep going back because the prices are pretty good and the kids that work at the Cortland store are very nice & always helpful.

Store seemed dark and dim, floor was very sticky like something had been spilled and not properly cleaned, mediocre variety and over priced selections, layout of store doesnt make sense

Unfortunately the refrigeration system had issues and they pulled the meat.However the butchers and staff were very friendly and kind.

Yeah dont go shopping after 8pm cashier is bothered by her exisitance and job. Threw our groceries in our bags, snatched them out of my hands as I was trying to load them up. Sorry your life is miserable. But dont take it out on me. I didnt treat you wrong or make you hate life. I used to do customer service and no matter how I was treated I was always kind and caring to everyone I ever met. Share some love.

Clean and generally well stocked. As far as grocery stores in Cortland go, this is probably my favorite one. I can always find what I need and they tend to carry the more unique things that I’m usually in search of bc of allergies or diet restrictions. I’ve been shopping here since I was a kid.. they never stop 😁

I’ve been the this sub counter four time looking for the friend chicken at lunch time, no go. On the fourth attempt I called ahead. I was told it would be ready, it wasn’t. It never is and never will be. Guess lunch hour doesn’t mean a whole lot.

I was very pleased with the selection of items I purchased at TOPS today. There was a great selection of meats at good prices. I found everything (but one item) on my list. I had a nice conversation with the cashier who was the valedictorian from GHS this year!

I do not like how sensitive the self check out line was and I could have taken less time in a line with all these people. It took me 30 mins to scan 20 item and the store was not busy.

Tried to use the self check out lane and everytime I scanned something the machine would make me wait for store assistance took me like 15 mins to cash out was very upset

Hadnt shopped here in years, decided to check it out today. The sale they have on meat this week is phenomenal, filled my freezer. Very nice, a lot of variety.

Good mix of top brands and house brands at reasonable prices. Produce is not always the best.

I love Tops. Get yourself a bonus card for free and you will be scoring all the deals. I love Tops because if you forget your card all you have to provide is your phone number and you still receive the discounts. Their super coupons in their weekly ad are additional savings you can score on certain items. The store is clean, organized, and the employees are always eager to help.

Ok place to shop high prices

I was ordering a wedding cake for my childrens wedding and the lady who waited on me was wonderful. When I went to close out I went to where you pay the money and the the machine tells you the total the man up front was so helpful because I didnt know how to use it. All in all it was a great experience shopping at Tops

Has most things youd expect from a small grocery store. Not a very diverse selection of brands. Prices fair for most items.

I always prefer to do my grocery shopping here (vs. Walmart or Price Chopper). Things are easier to find than anywhere else. Anytime I have asked staff a question, they have been friendly and helpful, unlike the other stores.

Store is fairly ordinary. I think its due for a remodeling.

If there was monopoly all year long, 6 stars. the cashiers here take the place to -3 stars, but we end up at 4 stars due to the good selection of everything from meats to animal foods, as well as the convenient store layout, bulk candy section, and occasional weekend offering of the new york times. the beer section is large in size, but small in ambition and lacking in execution. a fine selection of toothpastes.

I have never been disappointed over all and their Customer Sevice set up is the best in Cortland.My only complaint is that being a person who compares prices in the 3 local flyers, Tops Flyers are deceiving. Most of the deals are buy 1 get 2 free, buy 2 get 3 free but it doesnt tell you the price of the one or two that you have to buy actually cost. When you get there the prices are jacked up so you are getting lower savings than you might have gotten at one of the other Supermarkets.So much for comparing prices at the other stores but they have succeeded in their goal which is getting you into the store.

The tops is a very big store. I always forget how large it is until you step inside. I dont shop here all that often, but if I have trouble finding something at a different store, tops always seems to have whatever I was looking for. My last visit here was just to grab some ice cream and their variety of choices was amazing. If you shop here, definitely sign up for a perks card.

This is not a regulsr store for us. Emergency shopping only. We prefer Aldis and Price Chopper. Not really sure why...but we do. Tops prices are higher, for sure.

I like shopping here but at times I have difficulties getting there. I would be there more if possible. The staff ate great and always willing to help. If they want find what I need they find someone who can.

I only get things I need that are on sale here. Prices are higher than Walmart and Price Chopper. Store always clean, friendly employees and quick cashing out. They do however when advertising for meat sales most of time not have the meat out and have to ask for it which being disabled and in a hurry I do not appreciate. If it is in the flyer it should be out for the customers without them having to ask and wait for it.

Tops is a nice supermarket, very good selection and wide variety of items. However without the loyalty card, the prices seem to be a bit high. They do have full banking dept, similar to Walmart. All in all a good supermarket

Very busy but we got through no problem. Somethings are much higher than Wal-Mart just have to shop wisely. A plus is the gas points of youre in an area that has a tops station.

The meat department was not only helpful with my shopping needs, but they also played the Shout song for me after I told them I will be attending my first bills game with my son tomorrow. Above and beyond making my shopping trip carefree ! Awesome customer service 🏈💓

Sub shop was closed. Picked up a ready made sub. Total waste of 8 dollars. Meat was think and that black roast beef color. Bread was terrible. Ate two bites and contemplated sending it to their CEO to show them. My first and last time there. Out of state guest

I have been doing my shopping at this specific store for about 6 years and Ive watched it significantly improve over the years. Their selection has expanded, the sales are irresistible, their bulk section is beyond great, their produce is usually in great shape and I love that they keep it as local as possible, their bakery is wonderful... I could go on and on. The only down side is that the customer service waxes and wanes in its quality, but Im not surprised considering the surrounding demographic and pool of employable people that they have to hire from. Keep doing what youre doing Tops!*Edit*Tops got rid of their bulk section of spices and organic foods. Im so bummed. That was my favorite thing about this store. Im going to have to deduct a star for that.

Always clean (including bathrooms). Has plantains and other Hispanic favs that other stores may not carry. Has a great bakery and deli section. And everyone is always sweet and helpful.

Been getting doughnuts there for years, the filling had been getting less and less over the years. When you get a filled doughnut you get about a teaspoon of filling and thats it. If you are going to a grocery store for doughnuts, go to P&C across town, cheaper and WAY better quality. The bakery dept. at Tops does not care about customers.

Your standard, neighborhood grocery store. They keep items stocked and the store clean. Ive never had a problem finding what I need, although they dont carry some of the more exotic spices or ingredients for niche dishes. Still, a big gluten-free, organic, natural and produce selection.

Crowded

They have some really good deals each week. The employees at this store are really pleasant. They have no issues whatsoever if you have a handful of coupons at checkout, which is so nice as some places arent that welcoming to couponers.

Good grocery store, not quite as huge a deal as Wegmans, but often cheaper and often has a good selection of intl products. Good locations, great cakes. I shop there regularly.

This is directed at the Deli and Hot Foods department. Their food in not worth the money. If you are going to charge $6 for a salad at least you can make sure the tomatoes are good. Every time I get one it has rotten tomatoes in it. Also check the dates of the items before you buy them. They do not rotate stock very well and its easy to get out of date dressing packets. 2 Stars because sometimes they make good subs. You just have to get the right person behind the counter.

When they have sales their prices cant be beat. If its not on sale though its probably expensive. 9 dollars for bacon vs 5 dollars on the other side of town.

Tops is great!! The staff is always so helpful and super friendly, you are welcomed with a greeting and a smile every time. Wonderful!!
