Just had timing belt, water pump, & new radiator done on my daughters car. They did this work quickly and at a fair price. Her check engine light was on & they diagnosed problem quickly and now its off. Her car is running great. This was our first time using them but will be using them again for any mechanic needs in the future on my vehicles.

Typically take work trucks to Auto Masters, but my personal vehicle has been needing some significant repairs. Sam, Dave and all the employees are top notch professionals. The care, quality and detail they put into their work cant be beat. If you need anything from an oil change to a power steering pump replaced, you cant go wrong with Auto Masters. I give Auto Masters the highest accolades....5 stars! My son and I limped into Cortez in our old 1970 Ford pickup that was running so bad it died outside the city. Another mechanic shop could not help and recommended AMC. Tom and crew dropped what they were doing and jumped right in to figure out the problems; a bad carb vacuum line and electrical interference with the coil. In an hour we were back on the road. Fantastic customer service and expertise. Thank you AMC and team!

My wife and I were on our honeymoon when our car broke down in Utah near the four corners with a cracked radiator. It was the Fourth of July weekend and we called auto shops around and received plenty of discouraging responses. Sam answered the phone at Auto Masters and was very kind and helpful. She located the part while on the line with me, and she squeezed us in the following Monday so we could continue our trip as soon as possible.We took the car in on Monday, and one of their mechanics was out with food poisoning, so the owner stayed just to help us get our radiator replaced on time.The employees were so kind and hardworking and we were able to leave Cortez that same Monday. They really went above and beyond for us and we are so thankful. This kind of service is rare.

Car broke down outside of Cortez, had my car towed here for a diagnostic. When I went to pick it up 2 days later my car was damaged! The front end of my car had cracks and scratches that were not there when we dropped it off, and a whole vent was missing! The owner was very rude about it and claimed it came to them like that. I confirmed with the tow drive who dropped it off that none of the damage was there when we left it with them. Had to call the police and file a report. Terrible experience. This garage is shady. Do not go here.

Auto Masters was able to diagnose and replace the bearing and clutch in my vehicle at a fair price. And everyone is so incredibly friendly. Within two days following a busy holiday weekend I was back on the road and the car is still running beautifully. Wish all my car breakdowns could be in Cortez! Thank you!

Outstanding mechanics and service! Honest, experts, timely! My family’s Sequoia experienced a radiator overheat while pulling our trailer across the state for a week long camping trip. Auto Masters were able to get us in ASAP and what was an area that could have been very expensive (replace radiator, thermostat, head gasket) turned out to be only a radiator cap. They didn’t take advantage and got us on our way! Thank you Dave and Debra!!

I dont know how it is possible, but Auto Masters made our car repair experience actually enjoyable. Debbie was a miracle worker and went out of her way to get us a radiator quickly so that we would not be stranded for too long. She was so kind. They quoted us an honest price. The mechanic was excellent and we have had no problems after continuing our trip and putting another 500 miles on our car. We would recommend Auto Masters to anyone for both their customer service and their quality.

One of the few places I could take my car to get worked on. They offered several different fixes to my brake problem. They fixed my brakes and at a reasonable price but it wasnt just the financial valued I obtained from my experience but rather the personal relationship. Great people with great values. 10/10 would recommend.

Terrible service. Extremely secretive people. Hard to get into contact with the owner or with anyone.Do not trust with foreign cars.They destroyed my Audi and paid for my plane ticket, hotel room, and a rental car while they tried to do it a second time. After worsening the issue, they were never able to fix it. I had to tow my Audi to Texas where they fixed it at the dealership. Texas dealership told me they stole parts and replaced parts with parts that would’ve blown up my entire engine. This process took three months. This was such a nightmare of an experience that it could actually make a really good movie. Unbelievable.

Auto Masters saved the day when I discovered an issue with my car while on a road trip far from home. I appreciated their honest appraisal of the issue, their quick service and their reasonable prices. With the help of Auto Masters, I was able to continue my road trip on schedule. Auto Masters goes above and beyond. What started out to be a simple headlamp fix, began with the hood not even opening! Then the lamp wasnt even the problem. Even though they squeezed my car into their schedule thinking it would be a quick fix, they still took their time to ensure the hood release would operate and find the source of the lamp issue (which turned out to be a lot of dirt jammed into the socket). I left with everything operating great...and the new mylar coat they put on the headlights was so good that I thought the high beams were on, though they werent. I highly recommend them!

Dealer quality service. My Mazda needed a major repair that required dropping the engine. Everything went exactly as promised ahead of schedule and at very fair price. Also a military discount! They have a new lifetime customer

We are from out of town, found ourselves 400 miles from home in an RV that didnt have power and was going 15mph uphill. Initially thought it was a transmission issue, went to Jimmys Transmission shop in town, awesome guy there did some investigation and figured it wasnt transmission and sent us to Auto Masters. At Auto Masters, Dave and gang took us in the same day, and after some diagnostic work, figured out the problem and were able to repair in timely matter for reasonable price. Now its working great! If we had further problems we would go back there for sure. Highly recommended.

Had my brakes worked on today. The lady at the front counter (Debbie) was very hospitable and made sure I knew what was going on with my vehicle the whole way. Gave me multiple options as far as cost goes and explained them thoroughly. Also met the hands on owner (Dave) and he was a blast to visit with. Very busy shop for a reason. The reason is because they do quality work at an affordable price. I highly recommend them if you need work done on your vehicle.

On a road trip home from Telluride we found ourselves on the side of the road with car issues. Auto masters was recommended by the tow truck driver and they were able to fix the issue and get us back on the road. Brakes started grinding, headed out of a day at Mesa Verde. It was 3:30 and googled brake repair places in Cortez. Choose Auto Masters based on the reviews and we werent disappointed! Even though it was late and they closed at 5, they fit us in to replace our brakes and rotors. Reasonably priced for the item being fixed. They stayed late to get us on our way. Great shop and great guys!

We ran in to car trouble at Mesa Verde, and we asked for a recommendation for a car repair place nearby. Auto Masters was highly recommended, and we found this to be well-deserved. Everybody at Auto Masters was very knowledgable, courteous, professional, and helpful! Our car was diagnosed quickly, they hunted down the parts online, and had us back on the road within 24 hours. We even got a ride to our hotel! Two thumbs up!

Couldnt find a better mechanic if I tried. They are very friendly and will help you out if they can. I have been there twice. Both times they got me in and out the door the same day with great service and quality work. I highly reccommend them as your go to mechanic. I might also add that when I broke down my first time and was just passing through town, Auto Masters got me back on the road at a fair price the same day when no one else would.

From out of town, came down from the the mountains and brakes felt odd, I bought brake pads. Got me in very quickly they checked it and they said it was okay. Might have wrapped coming down the mountain. They didnt charge me a penny for checking. They were great.

No good 😒😒

I had an overall horrible experience. It all started with telling Auto Masters that I thought I had a wheel bearing going out. I told them that I had this squeak that would not go away. I took my truck in and got a phone call that it was actually my brake pads and rotors. They said they could fix it in a day. I got a phone call later that day stating that after they fixed my breaks they could hear a “humming” noise coming from my bearings!!! After already charging almost $400 dollars already, they want to charge me another almost $500 dollars for changing out my bearing. Seems to me they are running a scam to get business!!To top everything all off, I pick up my truck and it has the EXACT!! same noise it was making before I dropped it off. Thanks for nothing Automasters!! What a scam!

Driving from El Paso to Idaho Falls, 1st time this long of a distance in our newly wedding gifted truck. Truck started running poorly and engine light came on and blinking. Stop at AutoZone, code reader showed 2 codes, suggesting likely ECM failer, they suggested we have an auto repair shop use their code reader to verify. Stayed the night in Cortez, 1st thing wife in Idaho called Auto Master. Debbie was very kind and had me come straight over, even said if I got lost, call her and she would guide me in. We were told up front the cost for the code reader and diagnosis. Code reading didnt find any codes, engine light was no longer on and they throughly check the truck over, they could not find anything wrong. They were kind and chose not to charge me anytime because they could not find a problem and because they are kind hearted people. On the road again and headed home to my new bride. I was traveling through the area one Friday when my car started running poorly. I stopped in town to get it fixed. I called three other repair shops and all gave me the same story. They couldnt see me until after the weekend. David fit my car in even though they were busy and got me out the same day with the problem fixed. That is service!

On our trip home to Tucson from CO our SUV ran into problems in Cortez. After our Insurance recommended a different shop which quoted at least 2 days before they could get to it, our tow truck driver dropped us at Auto Masters who said they could get it in early afternoon.They discovered the sensor that was messed up and we were back on the road later that afternoon.Never want to have to deal with a breakdown, but we were very happy we found Auto Masters in Cortez and would recommend to others.

I spent a night in Cortez on my way from Utah to New Mexico. On the backroads of Utah, I drove through many road washouts, and I was very worried I had flooded my engine. I dropped in at Auto Masters Corp in Cortez, and they very quickly assessed my engine with expert eyes and assured me that it was fine! Then they hosed down the engine to get rid of all the dirt it had accumulated in the washout. They were so attentive and reassuring and instilled great confidence. Family vacation day 6 began with an enjoyable ride from Mesa Verde to Auto Masters (AM) courtesy of my AAA membership and Mancos Towing.Rear brake locked up coming off of Mesa Verde and I couldnt get it to release--not that it would have mattered the brake pad was toast. AM found parts in Durango and made the 2+ hour roundtrip to get them so I could be back on the road that day. Price was similar to what I pay at my local mechanic--going rate, no gouging.A week and 1600 miles late, the vehicle is working great with no brake issues to report. Now my transmission is another matter. . .

Dave was friendly, knowledgeable and flexible. We were on a road trip and had been having trouble with our front left brake caliper releasing. Although Dave was busy, he squeezed us in to his schedule (earlier than anticipated) and he and his employees took the time to do the job right. They conducted the proper troubleshooting steps and diagnosed that the problem lay with the fluid line. This was a relief as we had gone to an auto shop the day before in Moab in which they simply took the vehicle for a test drive, confirmed the caliper was sticking and said we would have to replace our master cylinder! Knowing that we were only in town for the day, Dave took the time and worked it out so that the company he was buying the replacement parts from (located in New Mexico) would drive halfway and one of his employees would drive the other way to meet in the middle and cut down delivery time. Replacement parts were put on and we have had no issues since. Excellent customer service. Thank you Dave!!

Headed to Fort Bliss to visit son before deployment. Car started acting up in Monticello Utah. Made it to Cortez and decided to stop for the night. Monday morning my husband called Auto Masters to have car checked out before we continued on. Bad news, transmission going out. Debbie at Automasters got the transmission ordered and asked them to please put a rush on it. They were very profesisonal and caring about our situation and did their best to get us on our way. Tom even stayed later on the day the transmission arrived so that he could get us on our way Thursday by noon. Thanks to Automasters and Debbie, Dave and Tom. They did a great job and really cared about us. Definitely would recommend them to anyone needing repair work done in Cortez.

Radiator replaced . An if you say something bad in their reviews they’ll call you. I didn’t mention they couldn’t fix an electrical problem THAT I HAD TO PAY FOR THEM NOT FIXING. They call me again I swear I will call my lawer. I have the right to my opinion as an American and if they don’t think so then they are just as hateful as I am being right now. Don’t call me. You don’t make America great that’s for sure. It doesn’t matter how long ago it was, it’s the principal. Go to another shop.

Very good garage, passing during a road trip we received a very good home and very good advice. The staff is attentive and has done their best to serve us as quickly as possible. However after changing two rooms the problem is always there.
