When we were looking for living room furniture, we visited Ethan Allen because of their quality of product. From the time we first met Brian Combs he greeted us warmly with no pressure, but offered his services even if it was just a question. Brian worked with my husband and I with professionalism and respect for each of our ideas of what we were trying to create. Brian listened, brought ideas forward and created a palette for our upholstery, pillows and window seat covers that were beautiful and exactly what we were looking for! He has an excellent eye for colors that blend and coordinate along with style of furniture to create a room that looks like it came out of a magazine! I cant tell you how many friends and family who have come to our home and said that very comment. Our room is warm, inviting, tranquil. We love it! Brians customer service is outstanding! I ordered my furniture in multiple times in early January. I did not get all my furniture till July 2012. The last item delivered was a dresser. During the delivery, the movers scratched and dented the wall while going up the the curved stairway.. I live in an historical home in Liberty Hill in SF. It would not be easy to find a painter who can do a job repainting the wall.I am not happy with Ethan Ellen because I had to call many times to ask about the delivery. There was never any communication of the delay.

We love our new Ethan Allen sofa. The service provided was exceptional. So Young Mack drove all the way north to help us decide whether to purchase a new chair or reupholster two older EA chairs to go with our sofa. It is a thrill to come home and finally have the living room we have always wanted.

For reasons far too complicated to get into, I was having some difficulty placing an order for a beautiful Ethan Allen bed for my son. It was Saturday afternoon, and I learned it was too late in the day to call the Ethan Allen customer service line. In my desperation I thought “I’ll call a store on the West Coast; they’re still open!” I googled the San Francisco ZIP Code and plugged it in for a store location. From the very start, with the gentleman who answered the phone (who could not have been kinder and more understanding about my problem), to eventually being matched up with designer Erika Miller, to the wonderful back up support by the store manager Lara Richmond, I was treated professionally and with great understanding and care. We couldn’t take delivery of our sofa for more than a month and they were very patient with us. Once it was delivered I asked Ethan Allen to come and move it a little bit and it was not problem! They delivered the sofa on the day we asked, on time! So Young was extremely helpful and came into the store at our convenience and came to our house for specific measurements. The sofa is beautiful and top quality.

He does not push you in a direction that is his but listens and makes excellent suggestions based on my likes and dislikes. My new sofa looks great and the size fits beautifully in the space. Delivery personnel took great care but unfortunately there were a few spots that needed cleaning. Staff at Ethan Allen called immediately to arrange for a tech to come and remove spots. That tech did a terrific job in removing stains and gave me tips for spot cleaning. Overall the purchase of this sofa was painless, thanks to Mollie. Would definitely purchase more products in the future.

We have had the pleasure of working with designer, Brian Combs, in the Corte Madera design center. Were pretty sure Brian has a crystal ball because he could see exactly what we would love living with (and would be period-appropriate and fun in our 1905 Victorian cottage restoration). The textiles he selected are elegant and durable, taking into account our life with our pets, giving us plenty of choices and themes. The turnaround time has been typically shorter than I would expect from a fine furniture retailer. Brian continues to be a true partner in design and we have learned so much from him. Our Design Consultant, Cynthia Brunn, did a tremendous job of helping us articulate our needs, likes/dislikes and timing for significant purchases associated with our remodel. We worked with Vanessa Labriola. She was very efficient and knowledgeable of her inventory. We saw and bought the Paramount Sofa 76 for our Bedroom remodel. It arrived earlier than we though and our remodel had just began and we had no space for it. Ethan Allen was able to store it for an additional 30 days. We appreciated this very much. It was delivered and left in the box so it wouldnt get dirty from the work going on in the house. We love it and it is a statement piece in our newly remodeled bedroom.

Thomas Worden was our designer when we came for a consultation to furnish the open floorplan of the first floor in our home. My husband and I liked the small space furniture pieces that EA offered, and gave Thomas a huge task of creating a sunny NorCal beach theme but be mindful that we have small kids and dogs. He totally delivered using various patterns and furniture pieces that can be interchanged in each room! I love the customer service provided when the furniture was delivered. Thomas made the 40-50 min trek up to our home to help situate the furniture pieces. The kids love being able to lounge and relax downstairs now.

After downsizing we came back to Ethan Allen for our second set of living room furniture. Our first set lasted 15 years and held up very well, but we were ready for a new look. We then sent her a picture of our living room with coffee table, fireplace surround, and artwork and she brought over a great selection of fabrics and rugs to consider. Our designer, Brain Combs, was thoughtful, considerate, knowledgable, and full of ideas and suggestions as we picked out our five pieces of furniture, including a leather couch. Scheduling and coordinating were seamless, and delivery was efficient and well-done. Although this store is a three-hour one-way drive for us, I would go the extra distance to work with Brain at this store again. Not a single criticsim or complaint.

This is more of a showroom than an actual store. I went in and was unable to purchase an item. They only were able to order it and have it shipped to me. This was annoying since I would have bought the item online if it were not for a 30% off in store coupon. I cannot have things shipped to my home because it is on a busy street so there is high risk of theft. I understand not being able to buy large furniture items off the floor but found it very frustrating that the same policy applied to a simple tabletop bowl. They lost $$ over this policy since I ended up leaving without buying the bowl and am unlikely to go back and buy it online.

Just finished a complete family room refurnishing after a remodel. Ethan Allen provided all the furniture and we had an exceptional experience with them. The quality of the furniture is high, superb customer service, and excellent value given the quality. Their free design services were essential and probably the highlight, since we needed a lot of help putting our more nebulous vision into practice. Our designer, Brendan Blakewell-Kopp, was TERRIFIC!!! Very skilled and helpful with ideas but not pushy. Always looking to see how he could best match the plan to our tastes. Cant say enough good things about Brendan and his design services - anything we needed, he would just take care of. We had never been an Ethan Allen customer before, but now it will be our go-to home furnishings store.

Had to call many times to get the order placed. The dresser arrived damaged. I had to call several more times to get resolution. Now I have to wait another month or two to get a new dresser sent. There has to be a better way. This has been a lot of work and it will be at least another month before it is resolved. =(

Diane Nicolson, the design consultant we worked with at Ethan Allen, was a godsend. We bought a home in Oregon and all we had were pictures from the multiple listing website and a rough floorplan. Decorating is not our strong suit so we knew we needed the help and expertise of a designer. We walked into Ethan Allen after cycling through all of the various stores and had a the good fortune to meet Diane. Our furniture arrived this week and it’s beautiful.
