Found what I wanted and needed. Price was not too bad and got price reduced by 20%, which was even better. Young man assisting was helpful and nice, wish I had asked his name but didnt think to at that moment. Aisles clean. Cashiers dont take checks made out in large amounts, so had to pay with bank or charge card. That can be a bummer for some but not cashiers fault when store policy. All in all a good experience. Will buy from there again.

Sutherlands is a great place to shop I can guarantee you can find the oddball miscellaneous craziest screws nuts bolts washers that the other stores don’t carry Sutherlands is the alternative for the big box store and always you can find something there and they are a little cheaper than the other places

My husband and I just bought a fixer upper near Sutherlands. At first we were going to Lowe’s and their customer service was horrible, so I decided to check out Sutherlands. When I first went in I needed to buy paint for my house, the lady that helped me, I think Sharron was her name, she was wonderful and knowledgeable . I went out with everything I needed to paint the whole house. She deserves 5 stars!! That is the only nice thing I have to say about Sutherlands. I am 53 years old and had to load my own lumber for a wooden fence and it was a lot of wood. Tried to get help and the employees would just turn the other way. It happened when I bought my windows as well, thankfully Sharron from paint walked by and helped me. Today was the last time I ever go into that store other than to get my paint!

When I first moved to Corpus Christi I bought a new door knob from here. It was a nice store, but the prices were high! After purchasing the door knob I found out I couldve gotten the exact same one for $10 on Amazon.

Went there to get mosquito Pics they didnt have any ... You would think they would carry them ... I had to drive to LOWES to purchase them ...

We came to return some brackets and were treated like criminals by the Manager. Implying the brackets we were returning were rusted ( they werent). Thats fine no big deal but we were looking for the correct brackets for our deck and proceeded to go look for brackets we did need. We had no luck then proceeded to leave and were stopped by the Manager again so he could look into the bag of brackets he implied were rusted. As if we were stealing, we dont steal we hard working people work for a living. Home depot and Lowes will be our place to shop!!!

Called before i went to make sure they had what I needed. Got there to purchase and said what they had was sold. I was at Walmart and drove to Sutherlands, called in the parking lot just to be told no one I was ready to check out. Workers need to communicate on what is available.

Found everything I went to Sutherlands to buy. No waiting in line to check out even though the store was very busy.

Sutherland has always been a convenient place to grab lumbar, nails, adhesive or caulk. I enjoy the store and they also have items that the other Stores in town dont have. Scented candles, Texas mugs etc.. I like that they allow the Scouting groups to sell cookies and popcorn, also you wont be at risk of being hit by a Fork lift running around the aisles. I really like their selections, and easy paced environment.

This store has a wide variety of products at fairly low prices.

Great prices, lots of variety, excellent courteous and meaningful service,and military service discount. Returns are handled with full money back or charges off on credit card. Will always keep in mind to check with Sutherlands for pricing future projects.

They have discontinued offers on tile and they want to sell like news and expensive they need to check down the materials and put the price

Advertised product was not available after one hour of opening. Traveled 30 miles for nothing. Should have more than a few of the advertised products.

Variety and uniqueness throughout the store! You can find all kinds of furniture ideas here, that you dont see just anywhere. Even the furniture grade wood selection is better than I have found at any other lumber/home improvement store. They even have vinyl siding and all the trimmings to go with it. They have one of the largest selections of cabinet handles and knobs. If you cant find knobs and handles that you like here, you probably wont find them anywhere.

Came in to get screws for my hurricane shutters the night before Harvey arrived. There were TONS of people in the store, all were frightened and in a rush. I was having a hard time finding the size I needed and there was this sweet young man named Joshua helping everyone. He was kind, polite and patient with everyone, clearly knew his store and where everything was. I cannot say enough good things about him. There was several customers not behaving very well but Joshua and the other store employees kept their cool and were polite and professional to everyone. Thank you, Sutherlands!!

NO HANDICAP CARTS all three were out of order. No excuse I wish there would be another Sutherlands we would have gone there. Sorry to say its like a ghost in the store not a single employee anywhere.

Most items are incorrectly priced or price has been torn of shelves. Cashier decided her personal phone call was more important than actually acknowledge customer. Not even a thank you. Wouldnt even give a star, but app is requesting.

I am one of those men who carries......well its a man-purse I suppose. I have this tendency to lose things I place in my pockets. So I stopped into this Sutherlands on Saturday to grab some drywall screws while carrying my bag. I get to the correct aisle and begin to pick up the item I am looking for, when this crazed employee comes sprinting at me from the front of the store, demanding in an extremely rude fashion that I need to leave my bag up at the front of the store. I point out all the women walking around with their purses on baskets and shoulders, and ask her why a man has to leave his bag at the front while a woman does not. I explained to her that I absolutely would not leave over 100 dollars in cash and my bank in her possession, not until I saw a mountain of purses at the front desk to add my bag to. Long story short, the conversation got even nastier, and I chose to leave and purchase my hardware at the Wal-Mart NEXT DOOR. I ask that anyone who can avoid doing business here give this place a pass, let it slowly go out of business with the rest of the discriminatory stores that are still stuck in the 1950s and believe a man carrying a bag is automatically a shoplifter. The employees here are so rude. I asked 4 people for help including a manager and they didnt know their inventory. Ill still to Home Depot or Lowes from now on.

Asked for a price on a piece of furniture was told someone would go over never showed, the girl I asked was taking with another coworker and a a cashier just standing waiting for a customer I think one of them could have helped me!! She just told me I had to wait I left going to home depot to get all my kitchen cabinets and paint!!

Its nice to shop in a store where the employees are given the freedom to use common sense when working with a customer. Due to a mistake on my part the clerk had an immediate resolution to the problem to the benefit of the customer and not give away the store.

Definitely sad today I went to purchase and was treated awful. We forgot our store charge card so we asked if there was a way to look it up if not that was fine we could pay with a different card. The cashier said she didnt but that the girl at customer service could so takes some time to get to us but eventually makes herself our way and said to the cashier Ill show you how so tells the cashier the number and then turns to talk to some guy and ignores her and then cashier had to interrupt her and tells her they hanged up because didnt know the answer tells her to call again and looks at my husband and tells him rudely that she needs ss# and do so my husband gives do and she looks at him and social so I write it down and and by this time the cashier already is trying to tell her that they are asking other questions and she doesnt know what to say. And I just say maybe they want to know the store number or your employee number and she makes me a face and say no she doesnt and grabs the paper where I wrote the social on and tells me stupid and I tell her not to grab from my had and I grabbed the paper back and again I tell her not to be rude and she say I dont give a *** Im trying to help you you dont talk to me rude and grabs the paper again, so I said you know what I dont need to buy from you and grabbed the paper back because it had my husbands ss# and we leftI should have spoken to management but I felt sorry for herI just wont be going anymore to Sutherland

Management here is great. Just like any other place there are good and bad employees. Just learn to look for the good ones.This place is so awesone, they even help out homeless/stray/abused animals and allow charities to hold adoption events here.

I bought staff for $68.15 (paint, brushes, 2 paint cups plastics, a potaroller paint, and a blue paint tape) and I paid with a check.I did not use the cups and the portaroller, all that for the total amount of $5.00.I was not going to returned because I was going to spend more time and gas.Six days later a friend told that if I want to go with him to Walmart, the one that is near Sutherlands, I thought that I could take with me what I was going to return. I read my receipt and I was on the right date for returns, right for what I was going to return, nothing about checks.I went to Sutherlands, on Customer Service they told that they can not return my money because they need at least ten days to clear the check. I told them that nothing like that was on the receipt, they just answer that is their policy.By the way, I paid attention that the blue tape they charge $ 9.99, Home Depot $6.99

Been looking looking for barn door hardware in other places and I stop here and found the hardware I need. Sutherland was the last place I looked and usually they have stuff that lowes and home depot dont have.

I am a petite woman with small muscles. We were working on a home project that was going to require painting. I needed to get about 6 cans of paint shaken. Some were purchased by a previous owner of our house. So they were bought at multiple locations. I also needed some painting supplies and some paint samples for another separate project (Im not particular about where I purchase paint and thought I might as well get it at sutherlands while I was there).I drove to sutherlands, went and got a cart, loaded all the paint up, went inside and asked for help at the paint counter and waited 10 minutes for assistance. When an associate showed up, I asked if I could have the cans shaken (I had in mind to shop while they were being shaken). I was refused this service, being informed it was company policy that they could not shake them there unless purchased at sutherlands. I left without getting the supplies or samples, as it is easier to shop while the paint is shaken and I might as well do that at one of sutherlands competitors. It was a pain to have hunted down a cart, lifted all those cans twice and to have wasted time.Sutherlands has two major competitors in town, as well as steeper prices on many things and an inferior garden section to competitors. At this point, the only thing setting it apart could be customer service but as demonstrated, that pales in comparison.Sutherlands management, you may want to re-think your policy as many people who go to get paint shaken are interested in purchasing paint supplies as well, as almost anyone who hasnt used the paint in a while (as needing cans shaken would suggest) also needs new supplies (brushes, trays, drop cloths, rollers etc) and if only youd shake cans from other suppliers, youd be increasing your sales of paint supplies as well as improving your customer service. Also, your competitors have a much broader selection of paint colors so they most likely have many more paint customers. If all of those customers know they cannot come to you to get their cans shaken because they were purchased at a competing store, theyll purchase their supplies elsewhere as well. But, since your paint counter rarely has any line, if they know they can come to you with cans from other places, not only would it be more convenient for them in terms of wait time (if youre quick to assist them), but they might also purchase their other home project needs while they are there. Just a thought. Customer service go s a long way.
