I purchased a boat via phone. I would highly not recommend this dealer. As it feels that they have used deceitful tactics. Boat was a brokerage boat that they sold for one of their customers. Boat was to be fully inspected prior to pick up. Since getting the boat home I have found several issues with the boat that they did not. Also I was told the bow thruster needed to be replaced and would be warranty. Now that the boat is with me and has been inspected by a local dealer. It has been determined that bow thruster was never replaced. They did tell as I was on my way that even though they had inspected the boat it now needed two batteries, oddly enough the battery was for the bow thruster though. Also never received all the cushions for the boat that I was told would be there. I have been promised that they would ship them but it has been two more weeks and still nothing. Stay away at all cost.
Took my boat in for a no start issue. Was told it would take 2 weeks. 4 weeks later I called and was told the boat was done. Nobody ever called me to let me know. Check there hours, they are opened till 5 on Saturdays. Drive 1 hour to pick my boat up and they were closed. I arrived at 3 and the door said they closed at 5. Call in on Tuesday and was told they had no boats to sell or customers, so they closed early. Well I was a customer who needed my boat. Finally when I had time to take my boat out. I get it in the water at the boat ramp and guess what. Still won’t start. I wasted $700 fixing my boat and the same issue it went in for is there. I guess they either 1 - can’t correctly diag there work. 2 - don’t check there work after it is completed or 3 - don’t care about customers and there time and families. So now I go over everything with my boat they touched. The carb cover was left off, power steering fluid was empty and my out drive up button doesn’t work. Marine max called me the following Tuesday. I talked with Brad the service manager. He did a great job with expediting the issue with my boat and taking care of the repairs. They had it ready for pickup Friday afternoon. This review went from a 1 star to 5 star on how the handled the issues. Great job Brad
This year as a first time boat owner Andy Tilton and his entire team have been nothing but top notch for all our questions. From the first time we walked into the dealership uncertain of what we wanted to purchase, to the delivery and the maintenance that has been needed since. I have nothing but great thanks and recommendations to these guys to be so accessible with all the added stress they have from the pandemic.
The service department never answers the phone. I requested a quote on the app and accepted it and no one ever contacted me. Talked with someone at Corporate and they said they would have someone call. Left VMs for the service department and still nothing. Crazy how someone is trying to spend money at a place and they do not care or want the money. Glad there is another location in Lake Wylie.
We walked into the showroom and there were no customers. There were two salespeople (one woman one man) eating lunch. They never acknowledged us walking into the showroom or looking at their boats. Would NOT recommend. However we had terrific service at the Marine Max in Wilmington. Top Notch service! They are a twelve out of ten. Lake Norman location needs to learn from this location!
Sales guy was nice. You better have an 800 credit score to talk to the rest of them though.
We moved to the Lake Norman area, and wanted to buy a boat, see we could enjoy the lake. We met with Brad Langdon, who took the time to get to know us and our interests. The 21 foot Sea Ray Sun Deck Brad recommended has been a perfect fit, and ALL of the folks at MarineMax Hall Marine have exceeded our expectations!
When we visited, this was the place to go for a new Sea Ray. The showroom was easy to get around, and the staff were pretty friendly, and not clingy.
BY HUGELY FAR the best service Ive had, and I have been to 5 others over two years ( from here to Rock Hill SC). Yamaha 212x works better than when it had 2 hours on it. They pushed some timelines but still a 5 star because they had legitimate reasons.
Purchased a 2019 Scout 175 Sportfish from this dealership. Let me start off by saying this is my 5th boat purchasing experience and first experience in dealing with Marinemax. These guys went out of their way to help me with every detail, before and AFTER the sale. And this is huge, as most dealers are done with you once you sign on the dotted line. Every aspect of the sale was handled professionally. They have earned my business for life! -Adam
Polite and knowledgeable. Were able to quickly help me find the part I needed and have it there the next day.
This establishment is second to none for its professionalism and customer service. If you are in the market for a boat or just looking for parts and service. Tim McClare and his team will make it a enjoyable experience.
We have purchased 3 boats from Hall Marine and have to say we will more than likely purchase more boats from them down the road. They have the best group of people from the sales team to the management. No matter what you want or need they will make it happen. You can not go wrong by visiting and purchasing from Hall Marine Lake Norman.
Andy Tilton is an absolute asset to the Marine Max cooperation. He responds back to email both inside and outside operating hours. He is concerned with each customer and makes them feel like theyre his priority. It is one thing to sell a boat, but the service afterwards is critical. Andy is best!
I used another reputable repair shop to diagnose my generator issues on my 310 Sundancer, assuming MarineMax (dealer) would be more expensive. Wrong! First repair shop could not diagnose the problem, made other guessing repairs and then punted. Called the service department at the Cornelius MarineMax and they sent someone to my boat inside of a week, diagnosed and repaired the problem for less than the first shop charged me for not getting the job done. Thank you!
Fine folks
Ive been a Hall Marine Lake Norman customer since relocating here in 1998. Ive been a Searay customer since 1984, owned 6 and Ive been fortunate to have met Mr. Cornelius (Connie) Ray, the founder. Ive met most of the Searay executive groups in command since 1998 and Ive spent time with their delivery captains, on their yachts and traveled many long distance, ocean voyage miles in our boats. So I feel I know the terrain. As I recently told several of the Hall Marine executives, including Mr. Hall, they are not continually one of the most respected Brunswick Corporation dealer conglomerates, and been listed in the Top 100 boat dealers in the country by accident. This 8 location group is one of the peak attention to detail organizations and has been boasted for their quality of customer satisfaction. In December, I met a Searay customer who had just ordered their brand new L650 FLY, the 65 fly bridge yacht that is not only backordered due to demand but became the epicenter of modern and evolutionary yacht design. We were comparing some rough water cruising stories and discussed being able to trust Searay in conditions considered beyond recreational boating days on the ocean. He then got up, summoned the President of Sea Ray to sit with us and delivered a very emotional editorial explaining that Searays builds in safety, trustworthiness, performance and reliability to the art of having fun on the water. He said I didnt ever just buy a boat. I bought the Searay package for life. His eyes spoke volumes. And that is the essence of the Hall Marine constitution and culture and how Hall of Lake Norman earned their paramount reputation. I challenge anyone to be a more dedicated Hall Marine advocate. And it only gets better from here!
Great people who know boats!
They never answer the phone!
