Great food..Little New York Style breakfast & lunch place!
Fresh food and good people. The digs here make you think of a simpler time. The food was fantastic, can’t wait to come back.
I am a big time brunch person and, unfortunately, not so easy to please when it comes to brunch food because I make many brunch meals at home and have gotten fairly spoiled. That being said, this place is a definite revisit for me. Our server, Debra, was extrememly accomodating. She allowed me to add ingredients to and revamp my meal. Normally I feel guilty doing that at a restaurant, but she made me feel perfectly ok about it 😁. Her response... whatever makes you happy, hun. I mean, who doesnt like hearing that!? They have a chicken salad melt that is to die for. (Being from alabama I cant find good old fashioned chicken salad here, without all the nuts and fruit in it 🤢) I simply added some tomato slices and poached eggs and it hit every hunger urge I had 👍 Afterall, it just isnt brunch without eggs 😉. We will be going back and trying different menu items. Great mimosas as well. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars was strictly because the place is so tiny amd that made it fairly loud. Other than that it was an excellent experience. I highly reccommend.
I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and I honestly don’t think I have ever had a bad experience love the people more importantly love the food!!

I hesitated writing this review but the owner needs to hear it. Visited for a few months now and the owner has an unwelcoming look on her face and is never happy to see anyone. Not sure she should be manning the register. Never a thank you just a bill thrown in your face to pay. There is one good waitress there but you have to catch her on a good day when she is “on” otherwise she can be abrupt and downright rude. Food is great and the gentleman that helps with bussing the tables is the friendliest one there, always willing to help. This is a customer service oriented business and if you want repeat customers act like it.

Being my first experience there, it actually was nice. Friendly greeting as I walked in and sat at the bar. Seemed clean and organized. Menu actually on low-end medium range so was surprised. Food was good and plenty there. Had the veggie Philly and as you can see, alot there. Only able to eat half. Id return....

Small diner style place with a family atmosphere. The food is delicious and we love the staff. We visit at least 2 or 3 times a month since we found this place. I suggest checking out their specials board because they have some of the best pancake specials (such as boston creme, crumb cake, pumpkin spice, tiramisu ... all of which are absolutely divine!)
Its a nice presentation and stomach filling... Though their not materialists so the sensory isnt what I would call good in the chef sense... Its a moral place where a painting of city life brings the transcendent in an a prior way so all this good and bad testing becomes only faith matters.... Its neat and kind..

Great local spot for breakfast. Food is always good, fresh coffee and very affordable. Service is great and attentive staff. Inside is not very big. Plenty of parking. They also have mimosas that I’ve been meaning to try. Kid friendly!
Food was delicious, service was great. Too bad is too small, maybe if they could add tables outside and a fan it could improve to a better experience. Overall, it is okay for a local place.
Excellent little place to relax, eat well and receive great attention. Debrah gives a cosmopolitan touch to the experience and is a very good waitress.
I liked Taste of the City and had been there several times over the last couple of years but today I learned that they are absolutely inflexible and unwilling to substitute a menu item in order to accommodate someone on a low carb diabetic diet.Nothing I said could talk the owner into letting me pay the additional 50 cent difference between the cost of a side of hash browns and a side of bacon and get them to give me bacon instead of the potatoes that come with the omelette.We left and went down the road to Blue Moon Diner where despite the fact that ordered a salad instead, the server told me she would have been perfectly happy to have made the same substitution that Taste if The City refused to make for me.
Incredible brunch spot. Food was delicious, friendly service and it was impeccably clean. Definitely coming back.
I was very dissapointed with this place. I was given a menu with outdated prices and was charged a lot more than what I thought it was going to be, especially for a family of 5. Then I was charged a $4 dollar fee just to sit on the bar to wait for food to go! Mind you we sat for 5 min given that they were closing in 15 mim when we walked in. The bar is not even a real bar. And the waiter who seemed to also own the place seemed rude and didnt seem conscientious of what a distaste that left in the mouth. She took the receipt and it wasnt even signed. And hell No, I will not leave a tip. I Wasnt happy at all.
Great food everything is fresh and homemade
I drop by this restaurant to taste their foods since one of my friends told me about this. The waitress immediately took my order. In just a few minutes of waiting it was served very well. As I tasted the food, it was very delicious! Five stars!

Cute, little place, good menu options and great prices. The staff was super friendly and the food was outstanding! We got the huevos ranchero special and country fried steak. It was busy for easter sunday but everything was quick and hot! Would recommended for a quick and tasty breakfast!

The food was good but log wait time. 30 min for seating and 27 minutes for the food.
Wish I still lived right by this place its my favorite spot for breakfast and love that they have Moses and bloody marys

Great atmosphere, very homey! Delicious food! I ordered the avocado toast meal and it was scrumptious🙂 Great service! I was there with a party of six people and they did not miss a beat. Definitely recommend 👍🏼

Wish I lived in town so I could come here to eat breakfast all the time! Food was delicious, the coffee was great, and their sweet tea is probably the best I have ever tasted. Its a very clean and down to earth place. The service was fast and personable. We will be stopping here often when we are back in town!
Always my go to spot. Family run, always friendly staff and good food. They even serve Mimosas and Bloody Marys. Food is always fresh and made to order. Sometimes there is a little wait when busy, but that just means its that good!!!
Small but great food and service!
I love this place. Having reason to be in the area frequently, Taste of the City has become my go to eatery. This store front breakfast and lunch joint outshines the Blue diner across the street. Every meal (breakfast and lunch) has been anywhere from good to great. Pancakes better than any chain, eggs every way possible, fresh orange juice, good grits, great oatmeal, sandwiches, burgers and specials. A must try if youre in Cooper City.

Delicious food, great prices & friendly staff. Need I say more... I love the home fries served here, and their chicken and waffles are lit. Its got a very nice and cozy environment. Parking may be the only issue you run into thanks to the neighboring gym and stores. However, you must come early being that they close in the early afternoon. I highly recommend this place for breakfast or lunch.

Pass by daily but never stopped in...we made the time this morning. Quaint little family diner. We sat at the counter and had a wonderful breakfast. My veggie omelette was packed with mushrooms, tomatoes & onions. It was delicious. The husband had the 222...pancakes, eggs and sausages. He was completely satisfied. They also serve Bloody Marys & Mimosas. We were happy campers, but if you like spicy 🌶 Marys, bring your own horseradish 😉

This place is a goldmine! Absolutely amazing staff, real homemade food, great atmosphere and won’t break the bank. This has become one of my new go to breakfast/lunch spots. The food is absolutely amazing and the menu has bountiful options.Ask for Bryan’s Keto burger, They make (by request) the best Keto burger in town. Lettuce bun, burger with cheese, bacon and fried egg. Although I cannot eat them the fries are amazing from what I can see and what the rest of my family tells me.If your in the area make sure to stop in, you won’t be disappointed!Thank you Taste of the City!

I came in hungry and left full. I saw this place driving by and thought that Im hungry, I might, as well, try it out. I was greeted as soon as I came in. The server was very friendly. I sat at the bar top. I ordered chicken and waffles even though they didnt have that on the menu. I didnt have to sit long for the food. The waffles was awesome and the chicken tasted good. I will say it wasnt a true chicken n waffles due to they didnt have chicken breast only chicken tenders but I was hungry and both together was not bad. The service I received was amazing, I will be coming back of not just for that plus the food.
SUPER TINY STOP FOR BREAKFAST. FAST SERVICE, HOT FOOD, VETY FRIENDLY STAFF. BEST CHICKEN FRIED STEAK AND SAUSAGE GRAVY AROUND WITH ADDED SCRAMBLED EGGS A GREAT SOUTHERN BREAKFAST.

Not compliant with COVID regulations. Only waitresses were wearing facemasks - not the hostess/cashier, & not the kitchen staff. Also appeared to be at full capacity with people sitting elbow to elbow at the counter and all tables occupied.
Its was just one of those Saturday mornings where not a pancake or egg was being turned over by this momma. Having tried practically every breakfast place within a ten mile radiance of our house except for this one we decided to check it out.Everything was you want when you go to diner. We were greeted by The Don (really nice lady greeting the door, holding down the countertop, and checking everyone out) she makes sure your service is superior. Not that it isnt; at Taste of The City they have team service. We met every server working the floor! The next one just as pleasant as the first! Our server was AMAZING she guided us through the menu and didnt do us wrong.We went with her recommendation of the Country fried steak and an order of onion rings as a side to the Chicago dog we ordered. All of the plates we ordered were solid to their origin!With solid food, great service, and a clean atmosphere; theres no reason why your not heading over to these super good eats!!**i will update this review with our servers name when I head back!
Small, local diner. Generous portions, friendly staff. I had the Beni Latkes and my husband had the Breakfast Steak. Both were well made and delicious. The home fries were my favorite part. We went on a Sunday morning around 1045 and were able to get a table right away, but within the half hour it was packed. Well be back again for sure.

It was crowded which is a good sign. The gyro platter was about what I expected and was tasty. My sons breakfast 3-2-1 looked great. I like a local brunch place like this. Its nice and friendly and home town style. They have beer and mimosas too.
Taste of the City is your topical local diner, great for when you are craving comfort food. They have a good breakfast menu. Omelettes come with a side of oatmeal, French fries or home potatoes. Service is friendly and efficient.
Fresh, home cooked products and friendly staff
Staff is friendly, food comes out hot and fast and is well prepared. Place runs best when head woman is there but overall good place to grab a bite. You can tell it has been consistently good as there are a LOT of regulars there.

The food was good and so was the service. The only issue I have is that I think $8 for 2 o.js. is a bit pricey. Also they charge for plain cream cheese when you get a bagel. I could understand if it was a special cream cheese but plain come on...

Everything they serve is Off the Charts as its all made-to-order, And, THE SPECIALS are to-die-for !Im one that NEVER likes to go to the same place twice, as we have many breakfast choices, but nothing compares to this family owned and operated corner spot @Griffin and Palm, that Ive actually been known to go 2-3-4 days in a row.. And, believe it or not, I still havent tried their lunch which looks great !WOW !!!! Keep up the great work... See you there...
The food was just ok, i did like my omlette everything else was average. the service was nice. the problem came when i got my bill. two extra items were added to it. went back and forth with the waitress for a second trying to explain. She did finally see the problem and went back to have it changed. she brought back a new bill with the items taken off, but they then changed/increased the price of another items on the check. I guess they thought i wouldnt notice. this just made the entire experience bad. I wont be going back.

Seemed like the place was racist! As soon as we came in all eyes on us and told us to wait outside. The tone and additude didn’t feel comfortable at ALL. Breakfast was good just got to work on customer service especially with different backgrounds other than white!

Was at this restaurant years ago and remembered it had good breakfast sandwiches, so a few of us took the kids there after dance class. I was disappointed with my order of Eggs Benedict. However, the grandkids seemed to love their pancakes!

Terrible service...... do not order to go they short you and then they also specify you must come back to get refund And can’t do card over phone.....also the refund is less than what it should be they create a price and honestly just rude when you even ask......
