First a little background of me, I am a contractor with 16+ years of experience from north GA, I mainly do inside renovations, decks and additions. I subcontractor some work out to local professionals and not chain companies. So writing this review I know the negative impact it will have on this small company, yet I feel the need to warn any new potential customer.Here is why I don’t recommend hiring Jackson .You would expect a company to not only stand behind their products ( even 3rd party )but also their service/ workmanship, and on “paper” they say 1 year warranty labor and parts . But they are just another company who finds excuses not to live up to that . This is my experience.In Feb. 2021 I completed building a sunroom for my customer . And like always I will rough in the electrical or plumbing and in this case pre-install a mini split unit . I had a professional license electrician install the wiring and I placed the outside unit on the concrete pad, and the inside unit on the wall . All the Freon lines run and attached to the unit ready for checkup and to be finished by an professional AC company . We choose Jackson because they were right around the corner and locally owned and operated.The first time he came the mechanic seemed to struggle with the weighing of the Freon or pressure testing ( vacuum) the lines . Maybe it was his first time doing this or maybe it was the rain . Without actually physically checking the connection of the lines, he said he was done and left . After a month waiting we didn’t receive a invoice so we called and reminded them we still needed to pay .Six months later, the unit wouldn’t work ( cool down the room ) so we called Jackson to come check and diagnose the problem. Of course I wasn’t there but my customer, 80 year old lady was confident that she would be able to answer any questions if needed.It didn’t take long for the technician to conclude that there was a leak and all the Freon was gone ( the unit is pre- charged with 2 pounds of Freon when buying it ) . When my customer asked why that happened, being surprised and concerned for her health, the technician was giving her excuses about expanding and shrinking of the pipeline and or connections. “You can do research that this only happens in rare cases under long time of stress” . They fixed the leak and added the Freon without informing the client ( my customer ) of the cost . I was assuming just like everyone else, that it was their mistake. For not doing the right thing the first time . And then came the bill, actually bills . $240 for labor and $280 for the Freon . And that is on top of the first time that came to “check” the installation of $170. That is $690 total . As much as the unit itself.After calling the office to ask and discuss this bill they said the felt in their right to charge this since they didn’t install the unit . Meaning; if they don’t install the unit, they don’t guarantee their workmanship . That is literally what they said . So be warned if you want them to service your existing unit . Also if they can’t to a simple pressure/ vacuum test . Then I would warn anyone to have them do a complete installation of a new unit .And finally. Let’s say you think it’s reasonable for them to charge the amounts or even consider their excuses. Don’t yell at the customer, don’t be condescending. Definitely not to the older folks out there. That’s just unprofessional.UpdateAs you can see in the pictures 3 invoices !! But if customer has paid in full, I’ll let her know not to worry about the last invoice .It was never about the installation warranty, but about the service warranty ( written on your invoice ) .I called the office and talk to a lady to discuss the reasoning and if we could maybe compromise on splitting the bill 50/50. But the answer was no .Here is my final thought .There’s a billboard on intestate 40 of Hiller heating and cooling. If not happy with the service it’s free.I think they are on to something.

From our first contact with Thomas at our new home site to explain the system we wanted which included heating, cooling, air cleaning, and ERV system through installation with Ronnie who was a great installer we always felt like the wanted the best for us and our new home. They were always available to answer all of questions. They worked great with the other trades including our home automation contractor. I would recommend Jackson Heating and Cooling to anyone needing HVAC work for thier home.

We cannot express more appreciation for this company, and the professionalism shown to us. They replaced our aging air and antiquated heating system with state of the art technology, and had a solution for a water heater jammed into a closet. Jimmy is awesome to work with!!! I will never call anyone else but them!! The men that installed the HVAC system was amazing to they clean up and left every just like it was when they got here. This was hand down the best service I have ever had!! Jimmy called me an let me know what was going on ever step of the way and was so happy to help me!! Jackson Heating and Cooling recently installed the system in our house. Thrilled is the word to describe how we feel about the work they have done for us. Instead of resorting to simple semantic adulation, let me more specific.. They came with blue prints for the work and never in our past had someone done this for heating/cooling. For construction, yes, but not for heating/cooling. The owner John came on the first day of work, and then kept coming frequently making sure everything was going well.. John said he would do the work as if it were his own house, and the exceptional quality of the final product testifies to the validity of that statement.. They installed all metal ducts pretty much throughout, instead of cheap, flexible conduits.. The ducts were installed so efficiently that there is ample room left in the region. Perhaps this is due to all the pre-planning that is evident from the blue prints mentioned above.. They voluntarily added a vent at the back entrance much to our pleasant surprise.. The work got done much earlier than the deadline - finished it on a Thursday when the deadline was the following Monday.. Workers stayed till 8 PM on the last day just to wrap up the whole thing.We are infinitely pleased with, and are deeply indebted to, Jackson Heating and Cooling. Guys, take a bow. You are awesome.And thank you very much.

Had hot and cold spots throughout the house. Thomas checked our system out and found several problems that other companies we had used failed to address. He did a load test of our home and then offered solutions at a very reasonable price. Thier very professional technicians came out, performed the necessary solutions and then balanced our system. We are currently setting in a home thats more comfortable than its ever been and we didnt need to take a loan out to pay for it. The unit in my home was 15 plus years old. I called because my unit was making a funny noise and they came and checked it out for me and replaced a small part that had been messed up for a while and which time the compressor started making funny noises and locked up. I chose to replace my unit because of the age even though the repair man said it would be much much cheaper to replace the compressor. I went up in size on my unit, had another return placed in my basement and fixed some bad duct work. Everyone was very professional and they were done in one day with all the work. Best part of all is my electric went down.

Called to have unit checked d/t trouble. Was told what the issue was but that neither a part number or manufacturer could be located therefore they were unable to repair. Had freon added hoping it would last a year like before. Unit messed up less than one month later. Called different company who EASILY located a part number and gave estimate to repair. Ended up purchasing new unit. (my choice) Jackson lost the business d/t dishonesty.

Technician came late to the appointment time and he was certainly not very customer service oriented. Slow follow-up by the company overall. We never got our issue resolved. Waste of time and money.
