I cannot begin to express how grateful I am for the guys here at Midstate motorsports ! They went above and beyond to get me on my bike. The first bike i bought ended up overheating on the way home They gladly took it back in and found the problem Once they realized it was a bigger problem than we all thought, they quickly jumped into action offering me the chance at picking a different bike. I bought the first bike AS IS people. NO WARRANTY! Do you think that stopped these guys? Nope they gladly took the broken bike back and let me choose a different one. Ian the salesmen was one of the most pleasurable guys I’ve ever dealt with. If you need a motorcycle DO NOT hesitate to give these guys a shout! They will go above and beyond to see to it that there customers are happy and well taken care of.

I am changing my original review. They corrected the problem and took care me under warranty. They were receptive to my complaint. That means a lot in my book.this place is a rip off. Had my ATV down there for 2 months waiting on a part. The service manager Steve has no clue. Interesting that problem six months ago had nothing to do with warranty and now different problem out of warranty. Do not trust these people. Take it from a retired Navy guy.

Nice folks, friendly prices. Plenty of models to choose from. Also have a a good selection of used bikes to choose from. I bought a used bike and when they did the maintenance check they didn’t like the results on the battery. They replaced and I rode off on a very sweet Yamaha Venture.

My review is a little long due. I purchased a 2014 ZX14r from these guys back in July of 2016 all I can say is the entire process was fantastic. Mike the sales rep I worked with was great. Made the entire transaction just as smooth as possible.The sales team worked with me on my trade and was able to give me a great deal on a brand new bike. I have done business with Mid state for awhile and will continue to do so. There service department has always done a top notch job on anything I have ever needed. Mid state does a great job and will recommend them to anyone. THANKS AGAIN MID-STATE THE BIKE IS A BEAST!!!

BEWARE. SHADY SERVICE. Called ahead to make sure they could do an oil change and safety inspection on my Suzuki trike. On the day of service it took 2 hrs to complete an oil change and safety check. $140. All they could say is that front tire would need replaced in 500 miles. 500 miles? We had just purchased the bike a few weeks ago, and tires were fine. I asked what was wrong with the tire and I got shrugged shoulders and I dont know. They asked the tech and he stated wear. I asked for tread depth or % of use, and I got shrugged shoulders and I dont know. Philip was angry that I was asking. I basically paid $140 for an oil change and an attempted upsell of an unnecessary tire. Scam. Tire is fine. I guess they thought a woman would just pay the money and not ask questions. They were insulted when i wanted an explanation. We will not return. BEWARE or STAY AWAY.

For over five months I had searched for a bike. I called several shops and seen many choices to choose from. What made me buy from Mid-State Motorsports. Specifically one of their employees named Will. He helped me from start to finish and didnt treat me like another dollar sign. The family that runs this company were nothing less that friendly and professional. Highly recommend checking them out if youre in Tennessee .

I was in the market for a 4 wheeler and called Mid State with a few questions. I was looking for a Honda Fourtrax Rancher. The salesman, Clayton, informed me they don’t carry Honda. Rather than try to talk up their brands, he was short with me on the phone. I asked him where the closest Honda dealer was located. He flat out lied to me and said he didn’t know. I find it impossible to believe that he didn’t know where his competitors are located. So he took the opportunity to be nasty with me on the phone and tell me in a snotty way “Google knows” I won’t even consider doing business with this place. Polish up on your customer service skills before you lose more potential customers. The people at Tommy’s Motorsports in Crossville were great to deal with, I highly recommend them. I wanted to buy two 4 wheelers, they only had 1 but went through the trouble to locate a 2nd one for me even though it was at another dealer.

Every time out of the last 5 times I have been there, guys at the parts counter seemed TOTALLY CLUELESS to each question I asked. There was a wide array-I mean several different areas of knowledge that my questions came from, AND THESE YOUNG GUYS HAVE YET TO GIVE ONE HELPFULL ANSWER. Its been,I am not sure or The guy you have to ask about that isnt here today I even got a flat out I dont have a clueIf this is this areas motorsports we are all doomed. Im a business owner my self and I would not let these guys answer a phone at my shop.

This place has an excellent and wide variety of new and clean used bikes available. The sales personnel were very attentive and followed up on all my requests. At the time of sale, they gave me a great deal and handled every detail swiftly and politely. This is the most professional dealership with whom I have dealt in 38 years of riding.

Shady dealer. They may can’t give you a title after you buy a bike from them. They will hold your money and refuse to return your bike. They call this situation as normal and are proud of didn’t provide a title to another costumer since the end of 2019. Never buy from them.

Disappointed in the way they twist a trade in. Was being pushed to purchase one item they had in stock for awhile. Was point blank told 3500 was the value of my trade in after showing it to an off-site buyer for them. But after inquiring about another item they told me it was sold, then they were holding it for someone. Then they came back with we can sell it to you but we have to much money in it so we can offer you 2500 if you decide to go with the different item. Wouldve still been interested working a deal on the original item that they pushed, but after me driving from out of town and to an then off-site buyer to do their leg work, and hearing 3500 then 2500. I just didnt feel like mid state was an honest and trustworthy dealer I wanted to do present business with. GET YOUR TRADE IN OFFER IN WRITING BEFORE INQUIRING ABOUT ANY ITEM THEY HAVE.

Very reputable. Quoted me an unbelievable deal and honored the agreement. No high pressure . The sales rep was honest and gave me his best opinion so I could make the right decision. They couldnt find the owners manual when I picked up the bike, but ordered one and had it sent to me in a couple days. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful.

Service and parts department are rude and need to attend customer service training. I bought a brand new $8,000+ ATV from them a couple years ago., wish I would have looked elsewhere. I have been greatly disappointed every time I visit this place. They dont follow up on parts request and even insulted me when I asked if they had a military or veterans discount on a part. How much cheaper do you need it, they asked. Oh well, learned my lesson this time. Guess I will be going with another location for my future UTV purchase.

Bought a used 2008 GSXR 600 and my battery gave out a few days after I got it and I called them while on the side of the road so they came and loaded it up and and me and took us to the shop put a brand new battery in it and tested my stator free of charge for any of it. Then I wrecked it and took it in to have estimate and they worked with my budget and kept in touch through the whole process. Head mechanic, Chad Rice, is very knowledgeable and all staff is friendly. Good place to do business with they will take good care of you.

Family dropped off our ATV in the service department during the summer. Busy time, I know, but it was still under warranty, so I was told by the maker of our ATV that warranty work is to be taken care of FIRST, to make sure the repairs make it in during the warranty period. After one month, I called, hadnt even looked at it yet. After two more weeks, still never touched it. Gave it two more weeks, just trying to be patient during the busy season, still never even looked at it. The manager of the service department HUNG UP ON ME. The only response I ever got from him was---I got a few more ahead of yours, and Ill try to take a look at it sometime this week. I will NEVER, EVER, EVER buy anything or take anything there solely based on the service department. I called to speak to the sales department and the manager there said there was absolutely nothing they could do. Went the next day to pick it up---then they basically begged us to keep it there saying they would take care of it first--not likely. Took it to another service dealer in Kentucky and they finished it the first day. I HATE THIS PLACE.

If I could give negative stars, I would. Was called about a warranty service on the R3 I purchased, so I brought it in for the first service at the same time. What was supposed to be a few days in and out turned into 2 months in which they punctured my gas tank by using the wrong screws and messed up the fairing. I understand that mistakes happen, but where I work, if you break a customers items, you get the replacements overnight shipped to make it right as quickly as possible. Even missing most of the riding season and waiting for them to fix their mistakes would have been alright if they had actually fixed it. But they did not, its much worse than when I brought it in. Check the uploaded pictures, you can see where the bottom lip of the gas tank is over the fairing... If I sent half-cocked work like that to a customer, I would be fired. And on top of that, they had the audacity to charge me $75 for turning my brand new R3 into junk. And that was after a discount!! I will never be back to this side show, and I will never trust them to work on anything I own again.

I recently sent an online inquiry to Mid-State Motorsports regarding a used motorcycle they had in inventory. I expected to hear back the next day. To my surprise, Brett contacted me yet that evening, ready to help me out even though MSM was already closed. Throughout the process, he’s been helpful, knowledgeable, and flexible. I have a very busy schedule, so it can be tough to connect with me. Brett quickly switched to txt messaging so we could communicate on my timeline. In the few cases where he didn’t know the answer to my question off the top of his head, he quickly researched the question and got right back to me with the info. We live 2 hours away and were passing through the area with our Kawasaki Teryx on our way to Gatlinburg, when we noticed the mirrors where flapping in the breeze. We stopped in Mid-State Motorsports where Brett Lott helped us. Turns out we had defective mirrors and he had the warrenty replacement parts to fix them. Then he took the time to come out with his tools and install the new parts for us! I would highly recommend to visit Mid-State Motorsports and Brett. Their customer service is worth it! We will definitely be stopping in again when we are in the area and may even make a special trip when we are ready for some new rims and tires for our Teryx . Thank you Brett for all your help!

Decent selection of both used and new power sport vehicles. Customer service is friendly and knowledgeable but a little slow from what seems to be under staffed.I was also a bit disappointed over the fact they only had two offroad racing quads in stock that was new the rest was 4x4 utility ATV.On the bright side I did walk out purchasing a brand new Kawasaki KX450F dirt bike for a decent price.

Had the worst possible experience here on Friday. I had a blow out on my motorcycle. They didnt have time to change it. I get that if your busy then your busy. I found a ride to the business. Upon arrival I bought a tire and checked again if they could put it on and they said it would be 4 hours before they could they had 3 other tires before me. I offered to remove wheel from my bike and buy the spoons and change it myself if they would break the bead. And the guy at the counter said he didnt have time. Yet he spent 10 minutes calling other dealership pushing me off on them and when I looked in the back the 2 mechanics were sitting at the bench talking. I found a 4 wheeler shop in Mcminnville that helped me change it. I would hope if anyone else has an emergency like I did they have a better experience. I needed help and was pushed off to someone else. Not impressed at all. I wont be back.

I was just comparing prices on ATVs found one I was interested in so talked with the guy that does the financing. He had me sign a paper (that was a big mistake) He couldnt find a loaner to go under 5 grand on a used ATV. I left and a day or two later I got a call from my salesperson that they would be able to go through Yamaha for the ATV I told them I was still looking but not to hold the ATV if they had a buyer for it. I eventually got me a polaris at another dealership, then I get a letter in the mail with a Yamaha credit card. Had to call and cancel the card. If you go there dont sign nothing till you decide to buy cause it will go on your credit rating. I didnt have to sign anything at the other dealership until I was ready to buy.

Do NOT buy anything pre-owned from Midstate. Their salesman and mechanic claim to inspect all used machines before selling. I brought an ATV home that had water in the oil and an air filter that looked as if it was ran through a swamp. I rode the machine around my yard (that has zero swamps or creeks) for less than an hour and put it in the shed. The next time I got it out it started to have issues running. So I brought it back. Then the salesmen said the air filter and oil were changed before it was sold. Not only did he straight up lie but he tried to make it seem like it had to be my fault. So if you want a new machine, not a bad place to go. But buy anything pre-owned they will do you wrong.

((Pre-Purchase Review to inform those, who apreciate doing research first, of how it goes with {Mid-state Motorsports}.))I will be purchasing a Brand New for 2015 Yamaha Tmax 530cc tonight, Friday 8/25/2017, possibly tomorrow if the wife and I have an over extended work day. Yes I know the 2018s will be rolling out soon but 2015 is when the model upgrade was changed. So the deals on them, everywhere in the country, at this time are great.(For a quick understanding of who I am.) My passion is for any machine, made for the road, that I can first review and ultimately tinker with. I live for making and remaking my cars, bikes, etc. beyond just better than factory. From passion and love I have years of physics, engineering dynamics and performance enhancing education for 2, 4 and a couple 6 wheel machines. I do diligently learned over the years of how to purchase, ship and ultimately re-sell as life sadly at times deemed fit. Inspired totally from my pops, a 70s era Nuclear Physicist (He was a rocket scientist for G.E.) whom loved enhacing all the way to re-engineering anything he could put his hands on. Most geniuses are very socially introverted as you probably already know. So this was the only way he knew how to communicate his love for my brother and I. And he did. And I love his wierd old ass for it soo much!So....Ive shipped many of vehicles to myself, from Monster trucks to 911 Porches down to mopeds. Im passionate about vehicles of any kind. So my wife has been working over the phone with sales rep., Wesley Griggs for what shes decided to be our next project. Yes guys, I am a lucky man.We dont believe in buying new due to the premium that comes with doing so for a project. But if you like your bed as much as I do... Well lets just say I plan on buying new this time all considered.Ill post and re-edit my star rating after we have ridden it long enough that we have decided that it is indeed a solid platform to begin blemishing the warranty. We first will have to document the experience from the beginning purchasing expectations of treatment provided, all the way to atleast 1 or 2 services, just for fairness of what positive and negatives you will want (and) need from us two un-biased love birds.First of reviews we will post very shortly. A few days from now (optimistically) we should suspect. They were honest on the phone and willing to work with a women, my wife! So.. Unfortunately Im changing my 5 star review to a 1 star review as Ive come to believe the sales staff here is untrustworthy.For smaller vehicles theyve shifted inventory to favor cheap Chinese brands over the quality brands youve heard of and theyre being dishonest about the reputation of these replacement brands. Theyll tell you they are just as good and youre not paying for the name. What they wont tell you is that more than half of them have issues starting day 1 on the floor and theyll work with them in the service department to get them running before you see it start for the first time.A recent test drive of a Kymco with about 50 miles on it there was a smell of something burning and smoke coming from the exhaust pipe after the vehicle was shut off. Salesman stands 15 feet away and tells me smells great from here! Different brands smell different, I assure you there is no problem with it. The thing couldnt stay on while idling in warm weather. Salesman says that wont happen once its warmed up!Ive also found discrepancies and errors in what they claim is or is not street legal in their showroom. Sales staff pretends to know what they dont know. Do your own research on the law. Use Google. Dont take their word for it.Beware of these guys. If youre not doing extensive research on your own, you may be descived into making a mistake. Unfortunately, if you live in Cookeville, Midstate and Harley Davidson are about your only options.Disappointed to see my positive experiences turn to negative ones. Their showroom and selection is still the best in Cookeville. Be careful doing business with these guys though.

The service department over-charges customers (or at least they overcharge me); theyre rude (or at least they are to me); and they have no regard for customer loyalty (at least they do not care about my loyalty).First, I made an appointment yesterday to have my bike serviced. On the phone, I was quoted $75 for a general service appointment, plus any additional parts, etc. The guy told me that they just change a one-hour service, flat fee. However, they ended up charging me $151.23. They charged me $95.75 for labor, instead of $75. I was also charged an unexplained $5.75 for Shop/Supplies under Other Charges in addition to the $36.29 I was charged for specific parts under the Parts section of the itemized bill. Look, I want to support local shops, but this is a rip-off.Second, to make matters worse, they informed me that I need a new rear tire. They quoted me $245 for a Dunlop K555 170/70B16 Rear Tire, not including tax, and $225 for a Bridgestone Exedra G722 170/70B16 Rear Tire, not including tax, and $75 to change the tire, not including tax. I simply cant afford those prices right now, so I asked if hed be willing to mount a tire if, by chance, I found one somewhere else that was in my price range. (Heres the thing: a quick Google search of these tires will produce numerous stores selling these tires for less than $200. Try it; youll see.) He told me that I need to give him a chance. I told him Id talk it over with my wife. However, he proceeded to tell me -- almost as an afterthought -- that hed have to charge me an extra $10 dollars to mount the tire if I do not buy it there. (I should mention that nowhere on their very large, detailed price chart on the wall immediately to his left did it state that they charge customers an extra $10 to mount a tire purchased elsewhere. It simply states that they charge $75 to change a rear tire.)For the record, I understand that local shops have a difficult time competing with online superstores. Im mostly offended by the erroneous charges on my bill and him threatening to charge me an additional $10 if I do not buy a tire from him. Frankly, before I reviewed the itemized bill and before he told me hed charge me an extra $10, I was planning to figure out a way to pay the extra $75 -- not including tax -- for the tire.. again, just to support THEM, a local business.Look, I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars at Mid-State over the past few years, and I have defended their reputation among MANY locals who have complained about the service, prices, attitudes.... but Im fed up with them at this point. This was just a(nother... the final) slap in the face. In addition to overcharging me many times in the past, they clearly do not even remember my face after four or five years, and they do not even care that I purchased my bike and ALL of my accessories (riding boots, helmets, crash bars, sissy bar, leather-wrapped saddlebags, sunglasses, etc) from them (for inflated prices). They still tacked on erroneous charges to my bill today and then even threatened me with an additional $10 fee to mount a tire if I dont buy the tire from them.Ive really wanted to support Mid-State over the past few years, but theyve practically forced me to move on and find another shop.If you choose to go there, I wish you the best of luck, and I truly hope your experience is much better than my experiences have been over the past few years.In case youre wondering, I purchased the Bridgestone Exedra for $152.99, INCLUDING tax and shipping. Itll be here in about three days. Another shop in town will be mounting the tire for $71, INCLUDING tax. Ill have a new tire mounted on my bike for $224, total -- compared to the $350+ I would have paid at Mid-State.
