Stopped by on a Friday to get a price on getting a brake controller installed on my truck. Was quoted $189. Made an appt for Monday. Brought my truck in Monday to drop it off and a different guy was working the counter. He said that the $189 was only for the brake controller, not the 7 pin connector on the rear (that would be an extra $60). I guess they assumed for some reason that my Nissan Frontier came from the factory with a 7 pin? They didnt check or ask me, so I assumed the 7 pin was included (after all, they are supposed to be the experts, not me). Wanted to walk away, but figured id give them the benefit of the doubt. I agreed to pay the extra money and left my truck there. When I came back to get my truck, the guy at the counter immediately gave me my total and wanted me to pay. I asked if I could please see that everything was working first and he rudely replied really!?!. I guess he assumed I wanted to pay BEFORE I knew everything was working.Then he had one of the shop guys bring the test lights out to show me that everything was working properly. I asked the guy how to set the delay on the controller and he said he didnt know what I was talking about. As he was unplugging the tester from the 7 pin, I asked him if he could please plug the tester into my pre-existing 4 pin to make sure that worked too. He ignored me and walked away quickly. Luckily, I brought my 4 pin tester with me and tested it MYSELF. Actually had to have my wife work the functions inside my truck while I was checking the lights on the tester. No telling how they wouldve acted if I asked them to bring the tester back out.The first guy I made the appointment with told me that my existing 4 pin wouldnt work anymore once they installed the 7 pin and I would need to buy an adapter. (They sell them there for around $25. I went to harbor freight and got one for $10). The second guy I dealt with told me that my 4 pin WILL be functional once they install the 7 pin. Now I need to return my adapter.There are 2 reasons that Im giving this place 2 stars instead of a big fat ZERO. #1. The brake controller seems to be properly installed and the wiring is functional. #2. They did the install within an hour of the quoted time. That being said, Ill never step foot back in this place for any reason (including any warranty work that may come up). Id rather go somewhere else and pay again than put up with some jerk talking to me like that. If he would have made that smart*** remark to me BEFORE the install, I wouldve walked and taken my money elsewhere. I was telling my best friend how this guy talked to me and he told me he is one of the owners. He said the owner used to be a customer of his and had to quit doing business with him because of how he treated everyone.As a small business owner myself, I NEVER ask a customer to pay up before I go over all of my work with them, nor would I smart off to them for asking to see my work. Youve been warned, spend your money here at your own risk.

I love a business that goes out its way to take care of a customer. George is a first rate guy. We bought an Andersen Hitch and a Weather tight tool box. George told me to take a photo of the tool box key and thank goodness he did because I lost them. He helped me get a replacement. When we had trouble getting our hitch over the kingpin, he got me in touch w/ the guys there and we got it figured out. 100% pleased with the service and attitude. Highly recommend Texan Hitch.

Robert and George are great! I recently had my second 5th Wheel Hitch installed. They are fast and do great works. I trust these guys to do it right the first time!

Had five sets of mechanics hands on rear lights with still no successful results on a Dodge Ram with custom flatbed. Stopped off 2 hours before Sabbath to see what they could do, had a patch job put together and was ready to go haul a U-Haul two days later on the first day of the week. This actually got me through two rounds of and 820 mile round trip. The Nash man running the place said it was Gratis as they were trying to get ready for a RV show over the weekend. Came back when I had more time and a little money to have them finished the job. Awesome attitude, and so far, great work.

Hitch and brake controller install. George was great and answered all of my questions before I decided to take it there. It was a Specialty Vehicle and the dealership was going to gouge me and this place did it for half as much. Admittedly I have only used it for about 20 miles so far but everything is operating as promised. He made sure not to void our warranty by not splicing any wires etc. Straight shooter...

I bought a new truck and had to have my 5th wheel slider hitch installed, but needed adaptor rails to fit the puck system. George was great in finding the adaptors and saved me $500+ dollars in sourcing them. His service was great and I appreciate a business that cares about their customers and not just about making the $.

Got a towing package put on my truck. I was in and out very quickly. Pleased with the job they did.

After visiting several hitch shops, I finally found Texan Hitch. Robert (owner) is easy to work with and firmly stands behind both product and install. I had a Retrax Pro installed that needed a couple of adjustments after several thousand miles. They put me at the head of the line to get any issues resolved. They have my future business.

Went to a couple of places before Texan Hitch. Was batting zero. Saw Texan Hitch store as i was driving by and turned around to go back. Glad i did. Told these guys what i was wanting to do and they suggested some ideals. Went with a iorn cross bumper and warn winch. Also got a ranch hand headache rack. This is a one stop shop. The entire staff was very knowledgeable of all the parts and knew just what to do. Friendly and.customer oriented. Best experience i have had and i would deffintely go back. I can not say enough about these guys. Thanks Texan Hitch!

BUYER BEWARE !!!You cannot return your purchase at Texan Hitch in Conroe Texas.. I purchased a folding cover for my truck after visiting the store and consulting with Robert on my needs criteria I desired. I made my purchase a few days later. During installation I asked George if the cover would interfere with my 5th wheel hitch. I was told that I should be fine. The next morning while getting ready to tow my trailer I discovered that there are issues with interference. And with the cover folded my view of my hitch is obstructed when backing up to my trailer. I called Texan Hitch to inquire about returning it with the expectation of a restocking fee of some kind. I was told that since they threw away the boxes to the item came in they would not accept a return. I was advised that the cover was easy to remove which defeats the purpose of why I purchased this style of folding cover. Do not purchase from this business. They do not stand behind their advise or product. They are only in to make money at all cost.

They supposedly re did all of our bearings and hubs on our Pj trailer and 2 months later our wheel came all the way off. Nothing was tight or greased properly and will not do business here again. Cant speak for the accessories part but trailer work isnt good at all. Odom trailer repair in Conroe are awesome and thats who we use and have always Used. We tried this company out but never again as far as trailer work goes.

They installed running boards, rolling cover, bedliner and Anderson fifth wheel hitch for a great price and timing. Not only that but they stand behind their products for warranty. I would highly recommend them for your truck needs.

I wish I could give zero stars. I called asking about a brake controller, the gentlemen recommended a lower end model and priced it out the door on the phone. I asked if it had certain features such as a proportional braking, time-delay vs. not. I was told that it had all of those features. I get to the store, and the controller had non of those features. They lied about the features, they lied about the price, then they tried to tell me it was not possible to plug and play on my vehicle (he pretended to check his computer). As I explained to him, my car was already pre-wired from factory. I needed the controller the next day and had to purchase. In hind sight, I should have pulled the plug and purchased a much better controller on the internet for less money then what these guys charged me. I would not recommend this dealer. They are expensive. They have very little knowledge on anything other then ford or chevy, I assume as I dont have either of those models. If you have other options, go somewhere else.

After being told to bring my vehicle to the shop at 1pm for installation of some light grills coming from out of town once arrived, we were told they didnt know about it and wouldnt be able to do it today!! Apparently no communication among employees causing inconvience for their customers! So if you schedule an appointment make sure you call again and maybe again to make sure they know you coming!!!
