My wife and I stopped by Backyard Leisure in Concord to look at a swim spa. We had done our research and knew basically what we wanted. We spoke with Brandon about we were looking for and he took the time to explain the different models and answer our countless questions. He then asked us some questions, and based on our answers, made his best recommendation, which was not the most expensive model. Simply put, he provided excellent customer service. We actually drove to Concord to visit this particular location even though there was one closer to us because I was impressed when I called that he took the time to speak with me.

The graders were very professional and courteous. We’re able to answer questions and very helpful in preparing us for the install. As far as the installers seem to have taken a lot of pride in there job. We were impressed with how quickly the install took place (in less than 2 hours ). The lead installer Seemed to be very knowledgeable and was able to answer every question we asked. We highly recommend both crews to any friends or family that may consider having a pool installed. 👍👍

We have been very pleased with the service provided at Backyard Leisure. The building crew were so responsive to our questions and concerns. I’ve reached out various times and every single time they’ve responded via email and/or with a phone call. They’ve even delivered a much needed item to our home! Top notch! Our backyard transformation has been amazing and we’re thankful for the extra effort put forth by the hardworking staff at Backyard Leisure.

So my wife and I purchased a pool from this company. So far the experience has been less than great considering how much money we put in this pool. Better communication and explanations is imperative at the point of sale. When you are brand new to owning a pool some things should be verbalized up front instead of just handing a customer a piece of paper and that’s it. Such as and most importantly getting permits to have a pool. Even though it states it on the paperwork that should be said verbally and I feel it should be the responsibility of the company to have permits pulled. Any time I’ve any construction done the company has pulled there own permits backyard leisure is just there to sell a product and that’s it. They could care less about customer service or being informative. Getting permits and made a point that this is very important to do. Since we’ve had our pool it has been leaking around the sand filter and 2 locations on the chlorinator and the return hose, I have been in communication with will from the shop as well as Nate and Travis who did the actual install. Travis’s team came out the first time and after I sent multiple videos and pictures of the leaks they failed to fix the primary leak. They have since been out a second time and supposedly it’s fixed now. Only time will tell. Each time I’ve talked on the phone with representatives we have been in verbal arguments. I am the customer and I have spent a lot of money and for that kind of money I expect better service and to not be argued with when I’m just try to get my expensive pool fixed. I do NOT recommend this company!! I recently changed my rating to a 1 star because after having this system for just over 2 weeks the pump is now leaking around the impeller. Either the seal is not set correctly or there is a crack in the pump casing itself. I have emailed backyard leisure and haven’t received a reply yet.

After having some initial communication issues with the store, we had a really good experience with Backyard Leisure. Our pool was installed in the time frame it was promised. We had a rain delay, but the couple that does the grading (I wish I could remember their names! Kim and ...?) were awesome and came out in the rain just to see what the job would entail. They were back to do the grading just as soon as the ground dried up, and they did a great job. Travis and his crew then came out to install the pool as planned and they were fantastic. Everyone was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. We definitely recommend Backyard Leisure in Concord! We love our new pool!

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to make a pool purchase. It has been a month now, I still do not have my pool steps or cover. Apparently my steps are in a warehouse somewhere and were suppose to be delivered today by 6 pm. Steps were delivered today and Brandon gave a sincere apology. Also, when trying to get the chemicals right after initial set up, Will was busy selling another pool but, did take time out to use the computer to run the water test and the other 2 employees did not know what or how much chemicals to add. The people at Cayman Pool & spa in Concord are wonderful for water testing and helping you get the pool water right!

Im so happy to hear others have gotten good service. We ordered a pool close to two years ago. We did get it earlier this year, and we understood that there were delays due to COVID.However, we STILL do not have the cover to the pool. My husband has been in touch with Brandon repeatedly (my husband has to call; Brandon generally does not)...and we get told yes, its unacceptable that we dont have it, yes, hell follow up and see...thats what we hear every time. Every.single.time.My favorite is when my husband calls and gets told that Brandon is with a customer now, he will call you back. I can say with confidence that 90 percent of the time, Brandon does not call back.Two years, still no cover........

Professional, knowledgeable, no pressure for more$ hot tub models after I explained what I needed. I trust their follow up care once I receive it. FYI, if u r interested in getting a hot tub for winter, you better check now. Delivery can stretch into 6-12 months .

Staff has always been very informative of all their products when we stop in. There are several models on the floor with hot water to get a better picture of the product.

The staff at Backyard Leisure have been amazing to work with. We experienced somes delays and issues that was not their fault. However, they step up and went above and beyond to make our hot tub experience better thab we could have imagined. They continue to provide us with great service and advice on maintaining our tub. They are not high pressure salesman and they always made us feel welcomed. I highly recommend them!

Backyard Leisure was easy to work with and our hot tub was ordered, delivered, and installed without a hitch. They recommended an electrician to work with us on the necessary wiring. They’ve also been helpful since the install, providing guidance on pool chemicals and maintenance.

When buying our first pool I didnt know what to expect. The cost was concerning and I felt overwhelmed. After walking in and speaking to the staff, all of my concerns went away. They were informative and courteous. There also was a sale going on and we were able to finance. We were able to get a larger pool with installation and are incredibly happy with our purchase.

UPDATE from review listed under Ethan Edberg from a couple months ago.Dropped my rating down significantly!The sales guys were nice, however, after signing papers and walking out that door, things changed. Our install date changed THREE times, only once was due to weather, the other 2 times, who the heck knows . We were promised install before July 4th weekend. Install was finally done END of July. Less than 2 weeks after, our pool was GREEN. We were MISINFORMED about the amount of salt to add at startup(we purchased the permasalt system), so our levels were off, UGH! It took us almost a week to get it clear! All I can say is be very cautious and ask LOTS of questions because once you sign those papers, good luck getting any answers. We love our pool, but are also very frustrated and just want you to be very mindful of these issues before you agree to purchase a pool from here.

Will in the Concord showroom was amazing. Staff was very friendly. I purchased the pool a little over a week ago and just waiting for a scheduler to call me to arrange for the install. Fingers crossed it will be soon.

Ive been holding off on giving a cautous review hoping they could turn it around but I feel as a customer nothing is getting resolved or getting an honest straight answer. Upon purchasing we knew we would have a wait for our hot tub and now we are past our promised delivery date and have not been given a straight answer. we have never been called to be given an update, Ive had to call and check in evertime. When we were told it would be within the week of getting a scheduled date we were never called. When I got in touch with manager he said he was going to schedule sub contractors to do the install (which upon purchase we were promised his white glove crew to handle installation) so I stated I would like to wait until his crew was available. A little time goes with not contact so I reach out to see the status, now my hot tub is in raleigh and assuredly will be here this week to schedule install. this was 2 weeks ago. Last week I confirmed a Friday install and would get a call today to confirm time. once again never got a call and upon checking in I am told my scheduled date is on Sunday. Im sure they will install fine, but communication is very weak and just being honest from the get go will go much farther than making excuses every time, especially when we are making payments on somethign we have not gotten yet.

We purchased our hot tub from Will in late August for November delivery. It arrived several months late thanks to manufacturer delays (covid!). They were not proactive in letting us know it was going to be late, but my calls asking about status were always answered and Will did call us immediately when he found out it was arriving. Installation and delivery were easy and professional and everything was included as they said it would be. I would buy from them again.

After using Google to find this hot tub and pool sales location we drove an hour to Greensboro, NC as a destination for an above ground pool. We couldnt believe how large the showroom was. They had several spas and hot tubs on display along with two above ground pools fully displayed and set up, excluding the water. I was very impressed with the showroom. The salesman acknowledged us as soon as we walked in, and we had a chance to look around the showroom. Eric was very courteous, and professional and was able to answer all of our questions. We left after purchasing, and receiving a discount for paying cash on the 24 St. Martin above ground pool. The discount we received paid for the inside the pool step. I would highly recommend Backyard Leisure for your spa, hot tub, and pool needs...now were anxiously waiting on the phone call with the install date...

It was truly an awesome experience from start to finish including delivery and set up of our new spa. I would recommend them to anyone looking at getting a spa. I was a little skeptical about how much we would actually use our spa but my wife convinced me she would use is. We have had it for several months and I use it more than anyone else😀 I get in almost every day. Its made a huge difference for my back. I cant imagine life without my spa.

Brandon was a great salesman. Great knowledge, knows how pools work and can explain the systems in detail. Travis and crew did great job installing our 27 St Martin pool today. I think they were here less than 3 hours. Travis explained all the systems and how they work. A pool like this is new too me so I asked what mistakes do first time pool owners make. He had many things to watch for or avoid. Just one was to place a bath Matt under the ladder to protect the liner. He has helped me avoid several first time mistakes. Great team to work with.

Horrible customer experience. They were wonderful returning my phone call and staying on top of things until I gave them my check. Since then I’ve been calling constantly with no return call, they will not schedule my delivery, the delivery is taking three times as long as originally anticipated (which wouldn’t be a concern at all as I understand it’s out of their control, but they don’t even call me to update me of these delays).I asked for a number for service person for my father who has a hot tub that the heat element is not working on — They are only service rep I have been trying to get in touch with since May 1 and seems to be too busy to even return my phone call.I highly recommend you go elsewhere.

We purchased our pool around April/May. Nate helped us tremendously. Everyone in the store was extremely nice and helpful. The installment crew was also extremely helpful and kept us in the loop with having to reschedule due to graders not coming yet.We had trouble with the graders. The day they were suppose to come to our house, it started to rain. We knew they would be backed up due to the rain which is understandable. However, we did not receive a phone call about rescheduling until 11 days away from being a MONTH from when they were originally scheduled to come out.They rescheduled to come grade... never showed up. Did not even get a call.Only bad experience we had and it was COMPLETELY OUT of the actual retail stores hands. They have been amazing!

It took me to Backyard Leisure. I went to buy a three person hot tub . This was a big purchase for me. I was fairly apprehensive about how it would go. I appreciated the store’s inventory, but the best part of the experience was Ryan. He was friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. He immediately resolved any anxiety I had about my purchase. I appreciated how he interacted with me without knowing if I was serious about really making a purchase. It was a wonderful experience from him explaining my options, to the actual purchase, to arranging for delivery. I never felt the least bit of pressure. It was almost as if I was purchasing from a close friend. I am anxiously awaiting the delivery of my hot tub. I’m sure the other sales people are probably every bit as good as Ryan. We purchased our pool with the help of Will, in April. We had many questions as first time pool owners. Will walked us through every step of the way and explained the process. Even with our 1000 questions, we never felt rushed. When it was time for the next step of grading, we could not have been more pleased. They were extremely professional, did a fantastic job and were super nice. Then for the install....it was starting to rain and they wanted to make sure we were not delayed. They showed up on time, worked diligently to complete the install before the downpour started and showed us exactly what to do. Overall, I would recommend them over and over again. We could not be more pleased and cant wait to start our new beautiful pool !!!

Bottom line: We are very pleased with our pool purchase from Backyard Leisure. The customer service has been fantastic. I am a do it yourself kind of person, but after watching the installation, I was glad that we decided to buy a pool from Backyard Leisure and let them do the installation. The entire process was well done and so I gladly give a 5 star rating.Sales:Brandon at the Concord store was great. He answered all of my questions and was very attentive during a very busy day. I had to take some time and think about the purchase and while I was doing that, they sold 3 pools, so glad we decided to purchase that day and get on the schedule. We were given a preliminary date of the third week of June for the installation and told that I would receive a scheduling call in 7 to 10 days and I received a call in 8 days. We were given dates for grading and install.Grading:The grading was easy for our pool and only took an hour to complete and dump sand. Due to the many rainy days, we were pushed back a few days, but it was communicated to us in a timely manner and they came out on the new date as promised. Lucky for us that we have hard ground as it rained the two days before. Very pleased with the grading and communication. The guy worked late evening to get our job done.Installation:Travis and the crew did a great job. They worked late into the evening to get our pool done. Due to the weather we were pushed back a few days, but the communication was great. Travis even called on the day of install to say they were running late, but would be there. I watched the crew install the pool and they did a great job and took time to make sure it was done well. Travis explained all of the next steps and how to use the pump, etc. It took about 3 hours and they did a great job of managing the tasks and were very efficient.

This is a follow up of how things have been going. My pool has been up and running a little over 1 month. Brandon sold me a 27 St. Martin pool with the Perma-Salt copper ionizing system. This has been one of the best choices I have ever made. Im a first time pool owner and this system is so easy. I vacuum the pool once a week, shock it once a week, thats it. No chlorine, no headaches. Water has been crystal clear.I dont live near the store in Concord, so I have my water tested at a local pool store (free at most pool stores) every Monday. They are amazed at how good my water looks every week. I could not be happier with the products they sold me. I am a complete novice and this has been a great experience into owning a pool.

Great prices on hot tubs and they had multiple brand names in stock! Everyone was curteous and we received great customer service from start to finish. When we arrived everyone inside the store was very knowledgeable and reviewed each hot and tub with us! They had great financing options and we had a fantastic experience! Best of all is that they are trustworthy and work on the promise to do right by customers. They even hauled away our old hot tub!

We purchased a 30 foot above ground pool. I just want to say my installer Travis and his team along with our grader Jeff went out of there way to take care of us. The weather and virus ran some issues but these guys did there very best to get the job done.We are very happy and pleased with there service.

This was our 2nd dealing with backyard leisure and both times they were fantastic. We bought an above ground pool from them about 5 yrs. ago and just recently purchased a hot tub from them. Brandon did a fantastic job with my wife and I. He answered all of our questions and provided excellent service for us. The hot tub was delivered and set up exactly as scheduled. Any time we have a need for anything they provide, we will definitely check with them first.

Our Pentair Pool Pump failed almost a year to the date of purchase. I called Backyard Leisure and spoke to Eric. Eric sold us the pool. We discussed the pump making noise. He had me verify a few things at the pump. I simply had him listen to it on the phone. No hassle, very simple. He knew the pump was not working properly. He had me email him proof of purchase along with a description of what was going on with the pump. In the meantime he had already ordered a new pump. Two days later, Travis who installed our pool, replaced our pump. Couldnt be happier. Eric remembered our family and Travis as well. I really felt valued. You hear about how great service can be. The proof is in the pudding.

My wife and I bought a American whirlpool 481 maax spa. Brandon was awesome, very knowledgeable, and very helpful. Highly recommend to go see these guys if youre interested in purchasing a pool or spa.The installation was quick, the guys literally were there and gone within an hour. I had a hard time finding a place that does above ground pools. They are amazing. I am still waiting to have it put in, but it will be ready come the warmer weather, so it is all good!

Horrible customer service. Purchased my pool a month and a half ago, it was supposed to be installed last Thursday. Waited until the end of the day to notify me they werent going to. It was supposed to be installed again today, Thursday the 27th and they waited until the end of the day to tell me it wont be today either. Not to mention Im the one who has to call and inquire three or four times, they dont bother to keep you up to date. Now my scheduling is just up in the air. Hopefully theyll get my pool installed in time for it to get cold outside.

We have been looking everywhere for an above ground pool, I called yesterday and spoke with in Nate, he is the absolute best! So helpful, went above and beyond. He made us feel welcome, answered all our questions. The BESTEST!!!!Well its now 9/24 and still no pool. This is extremely disappointing to day the least. At this point if I were able to cancel I definitely would. I purchased this on JULY18th. I am to the point of going to a higher source as this needs to be resolved asap. I am beyond escalated.

Purchased pool on April 18,2020 . All I have is a whole in the back yard . I was very clear when I ask the sales person how long out would this be . He said only about 2 weeks, then I ask how it would work, he said the grader would come and 2 days after that they would install pool. He then said they would be in contact with me in a within the week. well that part happened. Grader called set time May 8 then pool install call set time for may 20 well needless to say that is a far stretch for two day but did not happen anyway. grader got caught in rain storm could not make it so he was going to come on May 18 perfect 2 days before pool install Wrong pool installer calls I think it might rain my husband ask what about May22 he said I do not have my schedule but lets do May 27 my husband could not understand that nor could I . however the day he cancel he calls my husband to tell him he is going to deliver our pool and hot tub confused my husband says we did not buy a hot tub just a pool. Anyway still no pool . Suppose to come again June 3 it rains suppose to on June 6 to wet . At least it was still my turn. Then salesman at store calls and two more weeks what happened to my turn then he tries to smooth me over and says if for some reason it rains somewhere and does not rain at or house they could come maybe is that fair enough let me ask does anyone think thats fair I went from my turn to 2 more week with whole in backyard praying it does not rain again. Please note people 3 different parties to getting these pools installed. As a buyer did not think it was concern how many pools they sold and overloaded pool installer. Paper work should not say 4-6 weeks pending weather because I pretty it hasnt rained everyday since April 18. STILL WAITING FOR THE POOL

Backyard Leisure has always been helpful to me. I frequently take water samples for a more accurate reading. The have been wonderful in helping me. I highly recommend them.

Sales rep was knowledgeable and we felt good about our purchase, but the good experience ended there. After hearing nothing further after the purchase about our installation, I began calling the store (during COVID quarantine to be fair). Never any answer and voice mails were never returned. Thinking the company may have gone out of business, I called the Greensboro store which promptly answered the phone and answered my questions about installation dates, etc. The installation finally occurred 2.5 months after purchase and while the installers did a good job, they left the steps in the box for us to install and left giant boxes in the yard for us to figure out how to dispose of. Then when we had questions about the chemicals after filling the pool, once again the Concord store was not available so we ended up calling Greensboro again--also with good results. Were now working with a different local supplier for all our chemicals and water testing since Backyard Leisure of Concord cant seem to help us.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! BEWARE!!!! They sold me a $9,000 hot tub. Delivered it two months later... that was not the biggest issue. Could not get calls back. They delivered it without a manual. Did not send anyone to hook up the tub which was in my price. They will not call me back.

DO NOT EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY! I puchase a hot tub in Aug 2019, it was delivered a short time after. On April 8th our speakers stopped working on our hot tub. It took me several times to get them to come out. Wrong part, this went on for months! Then they came out again tried to fix it, once again failed after me calling and telling them I was going to call the BBB. This has been an issue that has been non resolved. I have made so many calls they will not answer my calls anymore, so I turned them into BBB. At that point they came out with the right part it worked for 1 day and stopped again. It has been over a month since we have seen or heard from anyone. This company is HORRIBLE! I am turning them back into the BBB and Im calling my attorney. They will replace this hot tub! My advice to you, never buy from Backyard Leisure!

We were extremely satisfied with the way Travis and his crew worked. They were here on time and put the pool up in record time. We did have a small issue but it was taken care of quickly and to our satisfaction. Keep up the great work with your awesome customer service and the work yall do. Thanks

We walked in and were immediately greeted by Nate. He spent over an hour showing us different options of hot tubs. We ended up buying a Bullfrog Spa from him after sleeping on it that night. Delivery was great, and we were relaxing in our new spa the next day. Couldn’t be happier with the whole experience!

Where to even start..We have pretty much had problems from day one!When we went in to purchase the pool we COMPLETELY EXPRESSED that we have NEVER had a pool before therefore we knew nothing about how to maintain one, our sales guy (I am not going to name names) stressed to us that that was no problem that if we had absolutely any questions about the pool or chemicals they would be more then happy to walk us through it. So imagine my surprise when I bring in our water for the first time to be tested and I am treated like and talked to like a complete idiot. I was made to feel like I was 2 feet tall. For the record the guy who tested our water was not the same who sold us our pool. I have to say I experienced the worst customer service that I have ever received. He was a younger guy and was very detached and you could tell he genuinely did not care to help me. I expressed multiple concerns we had and was told not to worry about it. He also gave me a print out showing our pool was low on multiple things but didnt care to help us figure out what we needed to do to fix the problems. As a mother I have 2 kids that will be swimming in this pool I would like to know that the chemical levels are where they should be for their safety. I do believe at this point all they care to do is SALE you the pool they could careless about helping you maintain it.

I just got my above ground pool installed and I couldnt be happier. The land excavation team ( Joe & Kim), the pool installers ( Travis & his crew) and my Salesperson (Brandon)are all incredibly knowledgeable and truly represent what professionalism is. They took the time to explain everything to me before any thing was done and the end result is a beautiful pool for my family to enjoy for years to come. What a great team !

I could not be happier with the sales support we received from Brandon and his staff while purchasing our new hot tub. I really didnt know much about them other than I wanted one, and had been in them before, and Brandon took time to really educate me about the different types of hot tubs and helped advise me as to which would be best for our particular situation. Then, although we bought the tub at the end of May, we werent able to have it delivered to install until September due to the back up with the company pouring the concrete pad and laying the surrounding patio, and we were never once pressured to get the tub out of the way in the store to make room.That alone is worth 5 stars, and Ill continue to use them for my hot tub maintenance supplies, and any other backyard items I need. Well done!!

Brandon and Eric have been helpful from the first step to the delivery of our hot tub. Both of them are always willing and helpful when I call to ask questions regarding cleaning protocol since its been a new concept for me. I highly encourage you to check them out! The team of men who delivered our spa have been exceptional also and great customer service.

Well I guess they get one star because the purchase was fine and there are no negative stars. Heres something every prospective buyer needs to know up front. They have one guy who does the grading of your land and nobody has the ability to get in touch with him. I was scheduled to have my land graded on June 10th and he never showed up nor did he EVER call. Nobody from Backyard Leisure was able to reach him until Nate told me he reached him the morning of the 15th and said he would call me shortly. Well shortly turned into another 4 hours and I called Nate and we killed the deal. So how does a company employ one grader who no shows on his customers, doesnt answer his phone and still has a job?? When I called Will and told him that I couldnt reach the Grader, he said he could. I said well if you cant, at some point this needs to be escalated. His response, well, its not like I can come out there without a shovel! Wrong thing to say!! Needless to say, Will couldnt reach him either. If youre thinking about trying to reach Eric, the store manager with a problem....forget it!!! He WILL NOT come to the phone nor will he return your call. At least thats my experience with multiple efforts. I also emailed Chris Scott who owns this store along with the stores in Greensboro and Raleigh and as of this post, he never responded nor do I expect him to. Good luck to you if you decide to trust these people.

They made the purchasing, planning and installation of our pool incredibly easy. We are very pleased with every part of the process and our very much enjoying our time in the pool.

The experience we had was wonderful. Eric was so helpful and knowledgeable about the product that put our mind at ease in making a huge investment. We would highly recommend backyard leisure to a friend.

We love our new pool. Everything from the point of purchase to the point we were able to start swimming, went so smoothly. We purchased the pool after much discussion. The sales person (Eric) was very knowledgeable and answered every question I had. Believe me I had a few. Then he said we would receive a call to set up grading and installation. In about three weeks we received the call just as Eric said, and we were set for the following week. The graders were punctual and very helpful. The pool installers arrived a few days later. We could not believe how fast the pool was up and ready to go. Travis was the lead installer, he was very thorough and went over every detail of the filter operation, and when and how to administer the chemicals provided. We waited 24 hours as instructed and the next day had two truck loads of water delivered. We have a a 27 St. Martin Pool Installed. Travis was so helpful he even gave us his phone number in case we had any questions. We highly recommend Backyard Leisure Pools. This was one of the best purchases we have made in years.

We found a great deal on a floor model jacuzzi for our new deck at the Concord location. We purchased it in Dec. but couldnt take delivery until April. They worked with us on holding the jacuzzi at their location at no extra cost until we could take delivery. I will say this location does need to work on returning calls and follow up. Other than that we are please with the local guys so far.Travis and his guys delivered it with no problem at all. He explained thoroughly the details for the start up, shut down and maintenance of our jacuzzi. It was just delivered a few days ago and we still have a few weeks until completion of our deck. At this point we are totally pleased but I will post an update once we get it open for use. I will also post some pictures as well. Our new screened porch/fire pit/jacuzzi deck will be epic!!!!!
