Anthony was a real expert - he probably spent over 2 hours helping and giving me expert advice. The machines were super cool, and Anthony as well as the rest of the staff are very patient and professional. He got me the exact help that I needed and I was looking for ! Very happy with my experience at road runner, I will be coming back for sure.

This was my first time at a Road Runner Sports and let me tell you.. this is the spot to get educated on running/hiking shoes. I drove over an hour and it was so worth it! I was lucky to get Andrews help even though they were super busy. He was knowledgeable, and with a calm demeanor he eagerly answered all my beginner questions. Even though they were about to close (and did so while I was still inside), he made sure not to make me feel rushed and brought me several pairs of shoes to try on after assessing my walk, foot arch, etc.Great job Road Runner for having quality employees like him! Today I went into Road Runner Sports to get all my running questions answered and gear purchased! I went in as a recommendation from my friend who I have recently been running with quite a bit. A little over 2 weeks ago I completed my first Half Marathon, and although I finished, my left knee/IT band has been tight/hurting and my right foot developed a huge blister on race day which made it more difficult in finishing.Anyway, as I went in to the store today I was determined to get everything corrected and in line so that my running career is an enjoyable one!As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by Andre. He asked me if I needed help and instantly took me over to the treadmills and the machines they have to record how you walk, the arch of your foot, etc.He was helpful, patient, knowledgeable and very nice. (I was in there for about an hour and fifteen minutes and he stayed with me the whole time).He showed me all my foot statistics on the screen and helped me understand everything. I found out a couple of unique things to my feet that I would have never guessed had I not been helped by Andre today.Anyway, my entire experience from the moment I was greeted to checking out and leaving was a positive one to say the least.I was impressed by his level of customer service, but moreover, I walked in as a customer who was intentional about finding out what I needed and walked out elated with amount of help I received and solutions I was given! I signed up as VIP member and absolutely will be going back whenever Im ready for some more running gear!

Super knowledgeable, very patient, gave me information I didnt know about...unfortunately they didnt have the size and color I wanted, nor could they order them. Andre at the Concord store was amazing! He was very confident during my son’s evaluation and answered all our concerns and questions very satisfactorily! He was so patient in guiding us make the right choice for running shoes and accessories from start to finish. My son was skeptical at first when I brought him for a consultation because he has started feeling pain on his right foot with ongoing training and races for cross country. He didn’t understand how he was going to get help at a shoe store. After spending time with Andre, he was so grateful for coming in and we left confident that we can always come back for his running needs. Kudos to Andre and the entire Concord store team!

What a great store! Customer Experience is five star! My feet were analyzed in 3D and a real time video of my stride. I was fitted with the correct size (a half size larger then I had expected) and a very comfortable running shoes! Bonus is I have 90 days to insure a correct fit and comfort while jogging or I can return. The price was competitive and I paid no more for the time and effort provided to insure my complete satisfaction in a knowledgeable and friendly environment. *****

I needed new shoes after having over 10 generations of the last shoe that unfortunately gave me injuries. Andrew worked with me to find the best pair. At the end I got shoes that fit like a glove and I cant wait to start running again! The fit and the custom insoles were phenomenal and Andrew got me in and out of the door in less than 45 mins. Would highly recommend him and the Concord store.

I happen to be driving by and decided to stop and see if they had anything in stock in my size. To my surprise every shoe I was interested in, was available. Took my youngest son in for some new kicks; he has some gate issues so we needed something with stability.We worked with Owen, who was fantastic. He was clearly knowledgeable and very helpful. My wife, Jen, was due for new athletic shoes, so we went to Road Runner Sports store (108) in Concord (CA). Andrew (store associate) approached us with a smile. He assisted Jen with her purchase of inserts to replace her much worn out ones. Andrew took care with showing Jen several choices of athletic shoes, but of course her favorite was the Asics Gel-Nimbus 23 Knit. They fit her perfectly. Additionally, Andrew showed her various pairs of socks and went over the fit and texture which ones were best for the Asics Gel-Nimbus 23 Knit. Sofia seemed to know a lot and very skilled with the tests and making the customized orthopedic inserts. She was very efficient and the entire process was fairly quick.I’m excited to try these out for walking my greyhound every day.

I went to Road Runner Sports for the first time as I needed shoes that wouldn’t hurt my knees. My knee has been bothering me after a torn meniscus. Everyone there was so nice and helpful. The young girl who waited on me was super knowledgeable and did an evaluation on the treadmill and such for me. She then showed me shoes that she highly recommended as she knew someone else who had a torn meniscus and they loved the shoes. I felt the comfort and support immediately in them. I ended up getting two pairs of shoes. One for work as I stand on my feet a lot and the other for exercise. I also bought some flip flops she recommended for support so I wasn’t stuck in shoes when it’s hot and around the house and such. Great experience. The sales girl was so great and I will definitely be going back there again when it time for new shoes.

It took 10 minutes and 3 people asking me if I needed help and disappearing before I got real help. An experience that could have taken me less than an hour, took me 1.5 hours.Cs#1 asked me if I needed help, I said yes, asked me what I was looking for, and walked away.Cs#2 asked me if I needed help, I said someone was supposed to be helping me, but haven’t seen her for about 5 minutes. Walked away, never came back.Cs#3 asked me if I needed help, told her same as #2, moved to next customer, who she asked for her name (she didn’t ask me for my name), put her on waiting list, moved to customer #3, asked name and if needed help. Customer told cs#3 that I had been waiting before him, and to help me. Cs#3 came to help me, and I purchased 3 pairs of shoes, while the other customers walked out of the store.My whole experience could have taken less than an hour, it took me 1.5 hours.Very disappointed.

The associates were all very welcoming and you could honestly see they were working together throughout the process of just commutations effectively with each other. Me and my brother went through several dozen shoes before I picked the right ones and went to check out. Very easy process and even signed up for their rewards for future use. Which was very intriguing because of the 90 day guarantee, which honestly I’ve never had before to “test try” the right shoe. First time shopping at Road Runner was awesome. My wife and I are RNs who spend a lot of time on our feet. Finding comfortable footwear is sometimes difficult hence our visit to Road Runner. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and took the time to explain the process of getting set up with a pair of shoes that would be comfortable and meet our needs. We finally settled on some that we love along with insoles that were molded to support our feet. We are now fans and will definitely shop there again.

I was able to get 2 pairs of sneakers for different purposes, with full customer support, to make sure I got what I needed. Needed to exchange one pair for different size. I thought the process was going to be difficult, but it was a breeze. Customer service was fast, efficient and friendly, receiving the exact same model/color sneakers in stock! Our store is short-handed, so I feel for the employees. They are maxed out. Hope more staff are hired soon!

Another “you’re old” moment. Plantar Fasciitis kicked in again! Working from home barefoot has it’s Pro’s and Con’s! Luckily Alex @roadrunnersports Concord was super knowledgeable…had me in and out in 30 minutes! He listened to all of my needs and was fun to work with! Update: After reading some of the other comments I see that I had the same experience and important for management to know…there was no greeting at all. And I stared at multiple staff members for a good minute before anyone even acknowledged me. And even at that moment they just looked at me and continued to talk to eachother before saying they’d be over to help me. Luckily once they finally arrived the service was great!

Terrible service from most of the employees. Completely ignored when attempting to get a shoe in my size. Every employee except for one had an attitude and lack of enthusiasm when asked questions pertaining to my purchase. Natalie was amazing and was the only reason I bought anything at all.

I recently visited the Concord, CA location and had a very positive experience shopping for shoes. The fit expert I was assigned too was Sofia...very friendly and knowledgeable. She did a great job sizing me, fitting me for insoles and helping me try on a variety of different high-stability shoes. My experience with Sofia was 5 stars. The only reason Im giving 4 stars for overall rating is that they seem to be a bit understaffed (common post-pandemic situation for many businesses). I had gone in there two different times before and had to wait a while to get assistance and finally left both times. Also I would advise onsite management to impress upon the other staff, the importance of making contacting with customers and genuinely acknowledging them when they arrive...had they done that during my first visit, I probably would have waited to be helped. Both my visits before, the staff was quite indifferent...could be the result of being spread too thing. Still a great shoe shop.

Great customer service, pretty good selection of shoes, but their inventory of clothing is a little slim. Overall, if youre just getting into running or hiking, invest in a good pair of shoes. Road Runner Sports has good diagnostic equipment to find the right shoes for you. Plus, they have a 90 day return policy for VIP members.

I popped in here thinking I was just going to buy a pair of shoes I had my heart set on, but instead I was fully assessed from watching a video of the way I run, yes you run in store, to molding the perfect insoles for my feet, to getting different recommendations from the Gait Specialist (?) who assessed me! I get pain in my feet, calves and knees when I run and I ended up leaving with a different pair of shoes than I thought and I am so happy that I did! I signed up for their yearly VIP program as well and got some awesome savings even on my first purchase. DONT just go to Big 5 or Sports Authority, this store is the place to go!

She did the shoe fit test which took about 20 minutes and went over every detail about how my shoe should actually fit when I run and my walking stride. Was super disappointed when I went to road runner this past weekend. I walked in with my husband. Someone eventually told us we needed to sign in but did not say why or that there will be a wait.Felt like we were completely ignored until I went up to someone who was just standing there waiting for a couple to decide which shows they would choose. This employee told me he would help me when he was done. (To me I couldn’t understand why he couldn’t just grab me my shoe size instead of just waiting there).I continued looking around and waiting. Finally after 30 min for waiting, I just left. Decided I would go somewhere else with better customer service.I kept telling my husband if this was their procedure to stay with people till they decide, Something should be said. There was no communication and definitely no customer service. I usually love going in there, but I’m so turned off, I won’t be back.

Great experience at the Pleasant Hill location! The shop was busy when I arrived, but the employees, Kelsey and Sofia, were kind enough to continue helping me after closing time. He asked the right questions, brought out several paid and explained why each shoe was the best while keeping in mind what I had said I need education. After several trials I finally settled for an oasis shoe which I runs with this morning and what a difference I felt.Bottom line is, a good shoe is a good shoe and a great assistant points one to a good fit because that is his expertise... thank you Richard for taking time to assist and for your kindness. I came in ready to purchase shoes today and the store appeared lightly busy, I waited for 10 minutes until someone could help me, I approached members from the store and I was ignored. I dont want to think this could of been a reason but we were the only POC there at the time, so I am not sure if we were profiled and the team assumed I was there to just look and not purchase anything, but the entire experience made us feel uncomfortable. For example while we were there waiting a caucasian family came in and within MINUTES someone came back with 3 boxes of shoes for them, we had already been waiting for 10 minutes for ANYONE to help.It appeared like this store had a biased perspective about who to help. Finally someone helped me and rudely came back with the wrong color, and quickly explained the difference in my shoes. The entire interaction was around 1 minute long. I needed help again and I waited another 6 minutes. If I did not need the shoes I purchased today, I would of left and gone to the other store, but this store was the only one besides REI that carried my size for the HOKA ONE shoe in the area. I have experienced 100% better customer service from Footlocker, PAYLESS, SKETCHERS, Shoe Palace, basically any other store. I have NEVER experienced such condescending, and rude service. The only person who even bothered to known our name was someone by the name of Natalie? so thank you for at least making me feel seen. I write this only because I hope the Manager or anyone higher up can correctly train this staff, if you see ANYONE in your store looking at shoes, looking lost, asking for help, please take the time to help and not just brush them off. Especially if it is a customer of color, we already feel out of place when we enter a store full of white people, please do not make us feel worse. I was there to purchase your products not to get belittled and ignored.

I’m a fan of their process and customizing to client needs, but I had to wait more than an hour to see someone and it felt so disorganized. The staff kept apologizing for the wait and saying they were short staffed/lunches, etc... but enough with the excuses already! As a business you should be ready to handle those situations better. Have a little sign or something with wait times, offer to text people when they’re on deck so they can shop around other nearby stores and come back when they’ll be helped; it’s not rocket science

My wife and I both have issues with plantar fasciitis, and Kat took the time to explain our options, scanned and evaluated our feet, and brought several choices of shoes to help us find the perfect fit. Best part is we both found excellent shoes that fit very well, and nearly a month later, we are both extremely pleased. Kat really knows her information. Waited over an hour on a Saturday for their perfect fit service but had to leave before our name was called, as did others before us. They need to figure out a way to help more than one customer at a time.

The poor sales people were running around trying to wait on the mad rush of people. We ended up with 2 sales people helping us because the first one kept getting really tied up with other people and we would end up waiting forever. We were there a long long time. I’m now even questioning if the shoe size is right for him. He’s a runner daily so it has to be right. They didn’t have the size he should get so she went up a 1/2 size??? I’m going to have someone else check them because they are expensive and he’s running daily now.I must ad the sales people were working very hard to try to accommodate the rush!

Good products knowledge staff.Always seems to take quite a while though should allow at least 1 hrs for your shopping experience.

Leyla was the specialist helping me today. I learned so much from her about foot care during my appointment. I was super impressed that she took the time to put me through several tests which helped to deter urge best fitting shoe for me. I have suffered from plantar fasciitis for many years and I’m sure wearing the incorrect shoe contributed to my foot/heel pain. I ended up purchasing a new walking shoe with the form fitted insole, a gym shoe and a recovery sandal. I am so happy to have been educated by this wonderful young lady! My feet already feel better! I love the level of attention and service the staff gives. Bcuz staff is limited, when u enter the store they have a sign in sheet but it’s not clear what will happened after u sign in. What I found out after I had waited 10mins I could have entered the store and looked around while I was waiting to be helped.
