Have rented scanners at CMS for years and like every year recommended to my business guests attending. Imagine our surprise to find out no walk up rentals. When I asked why I was scolded by RE staff at their trailer for not checking on their website. Stupid!!
Great service by the gentleman running the booth @ NHMS today! Replacement cord got everything back into working order. The microphone headset really adds to the race scanner experience. Thank you, Sir!
The crew at Racing Electronics always does a great job. Joey is excellent dealing with our locations requirements and needs. I highly recommend them for any/all of you hearing protection and radio communications needs.
Bought a scanner from them in 2019 that has Over the air programming as a feature. Was able to use it once before COVID hit. First race back Indy 500...no racing electronics on site. Well at least they have OTA programming. 2nd race back and at Mid Ohio who has no COVID restrictions, no racing electronics and no OTA programming. The whole reason I bought this scanner is so I wouldn’t have to manually program it, and now it seems that they are trying to do away with it not even showing up to the tracks. Hell the RE 3000 doesn’t even show up on the website anymore. My advice, just go to Walmart and get a cheap scanner and program it yourself because you’ll be doing it yourself anyways with racing electronics products.
I purchased a Fan Vision last season, and cost over $300 will all accessories. I used it for 1 race and today I got an email from them that it is no longer supported. You are unable to even use this as a scanner without the video, so it is completely useless now. All they are offering is a 30% discount on another $250 unit. I contacted them today to see if there was anything further they could do and they were unwilling to help in any way. I have bought scanners, headsets, and numerous equipment from them for the past 20 years. Needless to say, I will not be buying another scanner from them.
Rented a scanner for the Coke Zero 400 and was told I could access all car correspondence but actually I could only get car 66 and car 14They need to tell people that they will not get every car and in fact may just get a limited amountIt would have been nice to get the lead cars on the deviceI was very disappointed
I have an older set of Racing Electronics intercom headsets. 1 required a minor repair. I called their repair department and was told it might be better if I bought a new set of headsets. Of course it would be better for them, what about servicing your own products. I sent the headset to Racescanners and he was able to repair the headset for under $50.
Very helpful. Explained what I need to complete my system, even showed me how I can figure everything out and shop online.
My son Quarter midget races and we were having issues with keeping ear buds on in his helmet and he is very sensitive about them. He never liked it. One of the families recommended Racing Electronics for custom made ear buds and I must say we were shocked at the price but we just used then this weekend and amazing! Definitely worth the money. He has no problems at all with them. Also amazing customer service, they were so informative and patient with us. They loved listening to my son talk about Racing!

Rented 2 scanners and 3 headsets for Bristol race. Only could plug in 1 headset on each scanner. Headsets were not adjustable and did not fit tight over ears. Gave us poor sound and not good “track noise” coverage. Did not check all this before race because you assume that you are getting good equipment! Used as we could. When returning the equipment I told them at the trailer that we had faulty equipment. Was given a voucher for” next time rental”.... I called customer service the next week and they said a voucher is all they will give—-no refund to credit card. And that I should have retuned to their trailer during the race to get issues resolved. Who gets out of their set at BRISTOL???? If they are willing to come to me and fix the issue-great. But I am not getting up out of $100+ seat . So, just a heads up if you are renting their equipment—-they DO NOT REFUND ANYTHING—— you just get a “next time voucher. And if you are lucky enough to go to another race within a year, then I guess you can try again. But for us——we lost out all the way around. Very disappointed that they are not better than that and that Bristol Motor Speedway (I reserved the scanners when I bought the tickets through BMS) does not hold them to a higher standard as well.

Went to a race and rented for two days. Scanner wasn’t programmed and didn’t work. No refunds they said. I’m charging back with AMEX.
I bought two headsets and a scanner in November and gave to my wife for Christmas. Last night, at the Daytona Truck Race, we used them for the first time. One headset had a short/loose mic wire which caused the right side ear speaker to not function correctly.Today, while walking into the race I went to the RE trailer outside the south end of the Daytona grandstands and asked if they could help or if I needed to return the headset via mail when I got home.The staff was unbelievably helpful and immediately replaced the non-working headset. I was actually surprised at how helpful they were in assisting. I wish I had the names of those in the trailer but I didn’t get the names.Thank you for your immediate interest and for you assistance.

Spent $140 to rent 4 headsets and 2 radios. One headset/radio didnt work and I was told to call the number on the reciept because I paid with a card. When I called they said to handle all disputes at the track. So thank you for stealing my money. Horrible experience.
Very displeased with the headsets and microphones this year. They supposedly were new and better headsets, but the volume controls were only controlled for the scanner via the scanner volume and the speaking volume through the mic was controlled by the headset. First time ever that has worked like that. Plus the mics were terrible, no noise cancelling function, could barely hear each other as we spoke. Went to the trailer and they suggested we buy a set for $600 and that they would not be obsoleted. I dont think so. Always been pleased with this rental, but this years new and better equipment was anything but!! Will reconsider for next year.
Unit never worked. Wasted $85. The colleagues were super rude when trying to resolve the matter.

At Charlotte 2 wide NHRA drag races 10/2018. Have scanner and twin headsets. 1 headset cable split apart. Went to trailer on site. They story was we do not have parts dont do service of any kind. They suggested buying new set at $79.95 or send them to the office for service at $75/hr plus parts. Not the best or least customer service is was nothing.

Racing Electronics convinced me to pre-order the Legend at the track. I was told the delivery was to be in the next few weeks around Daytona 7/17. The two times I have called they have been hostile about providing and update and doing anything to compensate me for the money I have laid out for a product that is nonexistent.The sales team is ill equipped to deal with this situation. Any alternative would have done but they spent the time on the phone blaming anyone but themselves for the lack of communication!
Horrible service!!! Our race was canceled 2 days in a row and when I returned the equipment not only were they rude but also refused to give a refund. I even called theyre corprate office in North Carolina and still was refused a refund. Why should I have to pay for something I was unable to use... DO NOT RENT FROM THESE CROOKS!!!
Have been made to feel since i wasnt a BACKER that we dont mean anything to customer service. I have got excuses and lied to then said oh the made a mistake and thought i was a backer and promised something then said nope and i have proof in email too. I paid just as much as a backed for my device they got all the perks and then i find out they now are getting 2 years of activations FREE what do we get as Preorders 0 Zilch NOTHING. Candice and Tabitha seem to just read from a script and never really make you feel great about being a customer of racing electronics maybe because they have the market on the devices and hold the barrell over your head. I would like to see Racing electronics give the Preorders atleast 1 year free of activatons since by the time we even get them half the season is already over. My brother and i have already missed 3 races using the legend. I have ecxpressed my concern to my local track as well as my brother has at the 2 he has gone to this year and they seemed just as concerned. The Preorder people need to stand up and say something and say ITS JUST NOT RIGHT. God forbid not everyone knew about the backers in time to get involved but its called the customers always right

Buyer beware - The headsets do not function at all with a scanner that is not RE. The sound is so low it is inaudible. In addition, if you attempt to return the item, they charge a Rental fee if you purchase the item at the track.
Truly appreciate them helping me when I was in a time crunch with my ear buds. Very helpful to me.

Rented a scanner from RE electronics at the Bristol Race on 8/23.Scanner died, returned to kiosk to have it fixed.Got back to seat and it didnt workI rented a scanner at the bristol race. The scanner worked for about 10 minutes then died. I didnt know what was wrong with it so I decided to walk to the kiosk to have it looked at. I arrived at the kiosk where the gentleman told me the batteries were dead and he replaced them. This took a total of about 30 mintues to walk to the kiosk, stand in line and have it worked on. So I return to me seat and it breaks again. By this point I just wanted to return the scanner and get my money back. After standing in line for 15 minutes, I was able to return the scanner but the employee wouldnt give me a refund. He told me to call the number on the receipt and they would discuss a refund with me. Keep in mind, this trip took an additional 30 minutes so by the time I returned to my seat I had missed a full hour of the race dealing with this scanner. Once I got home, i called and left a message with the accounting department. Nobody called me on Sunday so I left another message. Nobody called me on Monday so I called again and was able to speak with an employee. She took my information and told me she would call back. She called back three times to get information from me and finally gave me her answer on Tuesday, 8/26. She told me the refund would not be given as I had the scanner for more than half the race. I explained to her that half of that time was spent walking back and forth from kiosk to stands but she didnt care. Only told me to wait for a call from Bruce Silver. Bruce called me back and explained to me that when he hears complaints like this he thinks the customer is trying to scam them. He didnt care that I was inconvenienced and it pretty much ruined the race for me. He told me that 75,000 people rented his product and Im the only one who had a bad experience which is why he thought I was trying to scam him out of $37. I purchased a terible product and all I want is my money back. Im being ripped off by Bruce Silver and RE Electronics. Bruce Silver was completely un-professional and extremely argumentative. Worst experience ever.

Bought the RE3000 and Gemini 4, first time I used them at Bristol, there was a short in the headphone jack in the scanner. They replaced it with a new one at the track! Swapped out a broken volume knob as well! A+ customer service!
Scanners are a bit pricey.
Customer service is the worst, On a 400.00 intercom set, they wont even sell you a volume knob.
