Food is not that good, staff not very helpful or friendly. I can never find what I am looking for here. I am going to have to find a new Asian market.
WELL STOCKED FOR THE PATRONAGE OF CUSTOMERS FROM SOUTH EAST ASIA. PLEASANT SHOPPING EXPERIENCE.
I being there sometimes not to complain,Friends mine said they are good.
Fresh seafood and nearly all of your Chinese and other Asian food cravings. For produce I only shop for what I know I can only get at 99 Ranch. Other grocery stores tend to have the same produce at a better price. The dim sum’s not the best, but for something quick and for one stop shopping it’s a good deal.
I go here a lot with my family, we love going here because it is one of the closest Asian markets in the area. They have a very large variety of items, and they have a good food court
You will find any Asian products! I like it ! Little expensive but worth it
The store needs a little TLC, but I liked how it wasnt super bright inside. The cooked duck is amazing. I love the variety of foods you dont see in other stores too. The bakery had lots to offer. The only reason I dont give this market 5 stars is because the live fish tanks arent monitored or maintained since there were dead fish in them, some were overcrowded. Today was my first day checking it out. 😊
Fresh fish and great Asian veggies and other stuff. Have you ever had Chinese cauliflower? They carry it...
You find here real seafood that they can cook for you. Great variety of fresh bread, herbs teas, fruits, and vegetables. Ample parking and not too crowded.
Most of the time, the items are out-of-stock or difficult to find. Every time I ask help to find an item in-store, most employees would rudely tell me they dont know or lie to me and tell me to look somewhere else. For so long, Ive always thought 99 Ranch didnt carry kelp and wakame seaweed because the employees would always tell me they dont sell them. However, out of curiosity, when I emailed the 99 Ranch website customer service, they told me exactly where to find it at my store and even sent photos. From there, I finally found them because someone helped me!I really like the variety 99 Ranch offers, but it feels so useless when I cant even find the items. Most employees are just so mean and rude when I ask for help that I just dont ask or even come back at all.I now go to Seafood City, the market across the street since at least their employees try to help me and they also have a large variety of Asian goods. Im so disappointed with this Concord location because the employees attitude have definitely ruined the shopping experience for me.
I love this store because they have all kinds of products and great prices
Always a good experience for me. I love their veggie noodles and dim sum. Also, they AS ALWAYS have duck eggs. I like to have them on hand for a more extravagant weekend breakfast for me and the hubster or any visitors who may stop by. Their produce is superior to most grocery stores, in quality and value. They carry a lot of items that a typical chain market doesnt.
Lots of asian foods/goods/fish(fresh)
Fair customer service, LOTS of selection, good pricing, DONT COME HERE FOR SUSHI, I asked a couple of employees & they both said no sushi here, sorry guys
Great finds that are not found in the local supermarket
I like to buy all my sea food here, those guys on the fish department are great.
Well stocked and organized. They had what I needed.
Nice place for groceries, clean, good organized, fresh produce.but some workers are not too friendly!
First time I did my groceries at 99 Ranch Market Willow Pass Rd, Concord branch. I bought Lychees and mangos, half of the Lychees were rotten and also Champagne mangos were rotten. I was so disappointed. They should not be selling fruits that are rotten. Unlike 99 Ranch Market Richmond branch there Lychees and mangos are really fresh.
Friendly people and great deli. Love their duck.
Great place to buy produce and fresh live crab. The fruit is wonderful for asian craves. I feel its time for a remodel if not brightening up the place to look more cheerful. Lighting and signage may help as long as economical prices stay in place. Lighting please!
Amazing selection. Produce very fresh.
This store has almost any Asian item you could want. It has produce, fresh meats, fresh fish, exotic fruits, canned and packaged foods and spices, and much more. There are foods from China, Korea, Japan, India, Vietnam, Philippines, and more (but I dont recall seeing anything from the middle east, nor from former soviet republics.)Lines can get long, but they move pretty fast.
Always an adventure. They have White Rabbit candies in matcha! The store is clean and the staff are nice.
Very nice place to shop Excellent service
Best place for low priced groceries for those whose palate is accustomed to multiple Asian produce and cultures. Their seafood counter is generally pretty reliable for affordable and fresh items, their dim sum counter is reasonable and great when freshly cooked. The Concord location also has a pretty decent selection of Japanese sake for reasonable prices. The vegetables and fruit here are also generally good, but make sure to plan as most the vegetables are sold in fairly high bulk packages, kind of like Costco.
Employees are NOT friendly! Very depressing to shop there eery feeling while there. Aside from the straight faced no personality customers and especially employees its dark and unusually cold. Second time Ive been there recently and both times exact same experience. Needless to say i will never walk in again, ever.
Good place to buy basic items (rice wine for cooking, bonito broth, etc...) needed for Asian cooking. However, I would not try their seafoods again after a bad experience with their fresh clams not being fresh. Also, sometimes they have dead fishes circulating in the fish tank with live ones. The clerks there dont seem to care about that either.
By June 20, they still require masks for everyone and gave misleading information about the registration. Clearly they didn’t talk with the division of public health.
A WAY COOL Asian grocery store. Most of the times Ive been here, its with my Asian gal friend. You can get food to go that is already cooked. They have a great selection of food you pretty much CANT get at any other grocery store. I always enjoy going here, never know what your going to find.
I love you Ranch 99 but your parking lot gets busy. Please come on down to Vallejo so I dont have to cross the bridge. Thanks
A place to buy authentic Chinese ingredients. Soup. Noodles. Veggie. Fish of different type.
This is the one stop shop for any Asian inspired creations or some fresh seafood. If your making something from scratch and need that specific item, (bonito flakes for dashi) they have it. In fact they have everything! Live fish, fresh fish, oysters, classic, shrimp, octopus, etc. They have roast duck cooked and hot, a bakery, produce, frozen foods, dried goods and pretty much everything you need. Check this place out.
Wonderful variety of Asian products and very helpful and kind cashiers.
Bring a flashlight so you can see what you are getting (the place is too dark) good for Chinese stuff if you Are cooking.
Been coming to 99 Ranch Markets for years. Been to several of them all over the Bay Area. Overall theyre a great place to find Asian ingredients including Japanese, Korean, Filipino, and more. They also have a bakery, Asian cuisine like BBQ pork and duck, along with dim sum favorites. Their fresh seafood and meats are reasonably priced as well as hard to find produce like Taro, Pea Leaves, Banana flowers, Asian Pears, Mangoes, and Soursop. Its also good to get fresh chow fun noodles, Taiwanese style fresh noodles or even ramen. They carry an assortment of teas, sake, soysauce, and frozen foods like ice cream and mochi.I usually go here for their fresh fish. You can even get your fish fried, just ask. Prices here are in some cases better than the regular grocery stores. I try to come here at least once a month.
Its what youd expect from a 99 Ranch. Nothing more, nothing less.
Plenty of parking in the front and back. Free fish fry. Bakery, Chinese fast food & bbq. Can get busy during the weekend.
Great selection of things oriental. Fish, meat selection fantastic. Fresh vegetables great but you need to pay attention. Pricing great too... green onions @ Safeway $1.29 bunch, here $0.49!
Awesome service and friendly staff in the seafood department. Each Ranch 99 market is a little different in what they have. One thing I noticed is this one does not offer a rewards program like the others. Most Ive been to automatically give you 1 or 2 dollars ranch dollars to spend in their deli for every 20 you spend. Excluding alcohol. They are all like a candy store to a kid for those who like to cook.
Moju moju 10/10 would suck again
Crowded, too much stuff inside the store, hard to move around because isles are too narrow.
It was my first time there doing an instacart pickup i was a little lost with the different items I was shopping for but the staff was very helpful one young man went and found my item I needed.. but my most memorable moment was with Jessica the cashier. She was amazing she helped me out with the instacart procedure and was quite nice but firm with customers she is the real deal.
Hard to find items you can buy here. Quality produce. Well stocked shelves. Live fish and huge crabs moving in water tanks. Very impressive.
This place is amazing many things are very cheap and amazing!
My absolute favorite find of the summer has been these aloe vera juice drinks. I have been drinking these non-stop since I discovered them. Theyre so delicious and refreshing. Come in different flavors, but they all have aloe vera jellies in them so theyre fun to eat too! I do recommend drinking them chilled without ice because the jellies will be hard to get toIll keep looking around and I am sure I will explore all the other drinks and food Ive never been privy to before.
It took me the longest time to find my two favorite kind of soda that I have been craving since I visited Asia. Apple cidra is similar to apple cider but a tad more sweet and apple-y. Hey Song is similar to root beer with a hint of smooth vanilla and cherry flavor. They both take me back to hot summer carefree days hanging with the grandparents. I’m so glad 99 ranch keeps them in stock!
Ranch 99 is one of those supermarkets that tends to have good food for a good price. Their dim sum special is pretty good and we tend to get an order before leaving. They are also doing a great job of enforcing masks and limiting occupancy in the store. However, I wish they would invest more money in design though. At times, you will need to go from aisle to aisle looking for things that should be in the same aisle. I should not have to go from one side of the store to another to look for meatballs.
It is dark, noisy (including unpleasant “music” from poor speakers) and smelling. Where can you find a more unpleasant shopping experience?
International food..all good
The only place where you can get away Asian items such as dim sum and tapioca and tapioca ice cream bars, etc. I love the ad they put on the web and update it after 1am. Just need to keep your eyes out on the great deals. Also during Covid, I find the best time to avoid the lines is after 5:30pm each day. Havent had to wait to go inside yet.
Great resource for Asian food items that you cant find in other local grocery stores and WAY closer than Chinatown. Service is not awesome as many of the staff speak zero English or would just rather not make the effort to be helpful. Some staff are more overtly rude but Ive been to Chinatown enough to know not to take it personally.
I was at Ranch this afternoon and was trying to find something! There was nobody around to ask questions and finally after 10 mins roaming here and there,I saw a employee who works there passing by and I was trying to ask her if she will help me to find that product but she raised her hand and said no and walked away!Pathetic woman! These people dont care about customers!I would give 0 zero if i had a choice!
Some were not giving 6 of space. most did give space.
Very crowded but has Asian supplies you might need.
Amazing selection and great prices. Its a bit cramped there at times but they are fast
Great sea food.
Had 🦀! Pricey but it has it. Staff are very friendly n helpful. Theres Strong odour in store esp around cook food n sea food area
Very cold in here always. You need to wear a jacket. Good selection of Asian food you wont find anywhere else.
This is a great Chinese store for produce and meats. However, this place is not meant for most people. There are that many english snacks like candy and chips but popular chinese snacks. Im not saying they cant go here, its just not your typical grocery store run.
Always love this place for their variety. On Tuesday 12/29, they were back to have a line outside to go in. Allow more time if you plan to shop here. Hate the lines but COVID protocols are in place for a reason and this place gets crowded very often.
Very good at covid procedures, they make sure that there are limited amount of people inside the store
We love coming here for Dinsum and Chinese fast food. It is a convenient place to pick up specialty herbs and spices not to mention freshly harvested Pacific oysters and seasonal Chinese delicacies. Btw, they strictly observe and abide Covid 19 protocol.
Its ok to shop here
A little bit pricey, but amazing selection of goods
Parking sometime is a challenge. It has fresh seafood, cooked food and asian deserts
Id give it 5 stars but its always so busy
You can find most of Asian foods here.
Came here for my essential grocery produce needs (support Asian businesses) and saw ranch 99 was selling rice wine. Ive never cooked with rice wine before now seems like the perfect time to experiment with all this extra quarantine time now. Briefly researching on the internet has been telling me to add a splash of rice wine whenever I stir fry anything or to add it when Im braising meat. I finally decided to just go for it and see if this will make my food taste like moms cooking.
Looks safe clean good prices and fresh stuff with a smile all the time.
Great market. Awesome dim sum
Friendly employees that answer questions and a good variety of items for sell !
If you want anything Asian food related this is the place!
This place is relatively clean but not spotless. Cashiers r now wearing face shields and a clear barrier are installed. I feel safe shopping here. Their fresh produce prices and much higher than Chinatown. The deli and ready to eat foods are slowly getting more expensive and the quality is not better than Chinatown. Ive been eating there less bc of the prices. They should lower the prices to get people like me to eat there again.
Fish market usually in the back of store is always a huge hit at my household. And I know whenever I come, the seafood is fresh and high quality with a good price. No fishy smell throughout the store either! And the staff will help take care of cleaning/frying or whatever you want to do. Just take a look at their banner posted on the wall!
I like the roast duck, they chop it up for you.
One of my fav place to buy groceries and produce.. they have almost all veggies and they have nice collections of sea food. I always get lobster from there and they always turn out to be great. It’s a must place to visit for Veggie and sea food lovers. Hopefully you will enjoy your visit.
You like seafood come here
Convenient shopping for Asian and other groceries
Packed house when shopping. Extremely popular with the asian community. Excellent freshly store made hot food to chose from. No competition here! Fresh seafood (evident from large aquariums of fish swimming in them), fried or cooked to order! Lots of fresh produce and bulk products makes this store a must visit.
Like all the variety & specialized items.
Reasonable and affordable prices on everything with a huge variety of options! I wish I could honestly try everything in the store, but I know that would take me ages. They are always high quality with good prices. Staff are smiling, and no strong smell!
Ranch Market is exquisite. It is one stop shop for all. Must visit and see. Some items price are little more expensive but overall good. The only issue is no customer service as all speaks only chinese and will not understand what you may ask in English.
Good selection, but such a tiny store. You shouldnt have to wait in line to go grocery shopping.
This is the place to go if you would like to get all kind of Asian groceries. Including seasonings, ramen, meat, veggies and snacks. The grocery store itself is not huge and it feels like they are trying to cramp as much stuff in as possible so it is little crowded when it has too many people. At this COVID time, it is very difficult for people to remain 6 ft distancing from each other. The cashiers are extremely fast though, so that is a plus. Even though line is long, but the cashiers are so efficient and you wont be in line for too long. Price is in a middle range depends on what you are getting. I love the fact that it also have some household supplies like bowls and chopsticks for sale there, they also have a small selection of Japanese and Korean hair dye and Taiwanese face masks for beauty.
Great spot for any type of Asian ingredients. This is also a great spot for sushi fish. If you do not speak their language do not expect help finding things in the aisles, but other than that its a great place to shop. Prices are great on veggies and meats too.
