Showroom is actually a joke of an understatement, because Danish Modern L.A. could more accurately be described as a massive, beautifully curated, world-class museum of Scandinavian mid-century modern furniture and design, WHERE EVERYTHING IS AVAILABLE FOR SALE.Jessy (co-owner) was a dream to work with on picking out a table for my apartment. Knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to work with me on a couple things, such as delivery to Santa Monica.My new table (a classic 1950s Danish piece in Brazilian rosewood), photographed here, arrived in under a week, absolutely pristine, by Danish Modern L.A.s own delivery team, who were just as easy to work with as Jessy.Cannot recommend Danish Modern L.A. *highly enough*. At the very least, go check out their showroom and take a walk through history.

Jessy refurbished and reupholstered 2 Finn Juhl chairs we inherited and I think they are better than new. He was very easy to work with and we are going back to get another chair redone.Also really fun to visit the showroom and see the collection of furniture.

First rate experience in all regards. Their refinishing process is amazing -- the table is totally like new. Jessy was great to work with.

Walking into Danish Modern LA’s showroom was like walking into a museum, but it was even more fun since all of the items are for sale and could be appreciated from our home. They had the best selection of Danish modern dining tables, all beautifully and lovingly restored.We were grateful to see their workshop as well. The attention and care they put into restoring every piece of furniture they sell is apparent. Jessy’s knowledge of the furniture and willingness to share his expertise without being pretentious was very much appreciated. We ended up buying a beautiful expanding draw-leaf teak dining table by Skovmand & Andersen. We did see other tables, but this one was designed and built with the highest quality. We also bought a gorgeous Paul Laszlo designed chest of drawers from Brown Saltman in mahogany with maple drawers.We appreciated the excellent customer service and attention to detail from Jessy and his team. Danish Modern is a great find. They carry hard to find, unique, beautifully made pieces of furniture which literally cannot be found anywhere else. All furniture and electronics are fully restored. The staff at Danish Modern are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. The store held our furniture at no cost for one month, then delivered the furniture flawlessly with very helpful, friendly and careful movers.This is hard to beat. In fact, the only reason I am not giving five stars is because the location is hard to find. Once you find it, you are in for an amazing shopping treat.

Despite the obvious concerns about buying a vintage piece on line and having it shipped out of state, I have to say that I am so ecstatic with my sleek Dux sofa! I love the attention to detail in the upholstery that was redone and it is super comfortable with cushions that stay looking neat even after sitting. Danish Modern LAs showroom is such a breath of fresh air. Unlike many Mid-Century Modern stores in LA, Danish Modern’s space is full of light and space. (No chaotic towers of furniture here!) Everything on the floor is beautiful and each piece has been carefully restored. It’s a wonderland of treasures that is a pleasure to walk through!We were looking for a table with hidden leaves (either a butterfly leaf or draw leaf table) and Jessy helped us find the perfect table for our budget that met our needs. This place is incredible. Not only is the showroom full of authentic, stunning gems, but the customer service is high grade. Jessys encyclopedic knowledgeable of every single piece in the space was beyond impressive, stating designer, time period and material. After drooling my way through the immaculate showroom I was directed to a few credenzas in my price point. After my purchase DMLA even did a cosmetic touchup on the tambour piece I selected after I noticed a discoloration in the woodgrain that I didnt love. They DID NOT have to do this but they did, free of charge, sending me status pictures via email along the way.The home delivery was smooth and the experience overall was bar none. I have shopped all over Los Angeles for quality mid century pieces and Danish Modern LAs combination of selection, customer service and price makes them truly stand out. Terribly disappointed!! I work for an amazing Chicago design firm and have worked with many great vendors all over the country. Danish Modern (Jessie) took our deposit & our fabric and never sent us our chair. I received no response and no call back..NONE!... After months and months of waiting for this chair to ship (as we were told is was ready), my only recourse was to dispute via our credit card.... Unfortunately I am still at a loss on the fabric........Would never recommend Danish Modern again

Danish Modern LA reupholstered seven Wegner Sawbuck chairs from 1954 for us. They came out really nice, we are very satisfied with the result. The customer service and attention to details that Jessy provided was outstanding.Their showroom has/sells some really beautiful Danish architectural furniture designed by Wegner and Arne Jakobsen.

Brandy was nice upon reception. I took in a desk made by Hooker with a couple broken legs, where the legs met the base of the desk. She quoted me the price and said 3 weeks turn around. I said to her thats fine, but 3 weeks would probably be too soon for me to be ready to receive it, tell your restorers feel free to take their time. She remarked that is what the usual turn around time was, but that she will do her best. 3 weeks later the phone calls came pouring in. Its ready, its ready, its ready. All in all, close to a dozen calls in a 2 week period I left a deposit of half the money ($400). The ridiculous number of calls and the short time between them made me think about calling back and telling them they can keep the desk and shove the 400 dollars where the sun dont shine.I didnt of course, and when my friends funeral arrangements, funeral and mourning with family was threw the worst of it, I called Brandy back and said I was ready for the desk. She then told me oh, sorry i didnt call you, but we noticed the desk needs some further repair. The first repair didnt hold. I said ok; and actually it still wasnt convenient to receive anyway. I thought of it as better for me, and good catch on their part. The aggressive calls i chalked up to Brandy just doing her job.A month goes by, she calls, says its ready, Im ready, we schedule a delivery time. The two kids (young twenties) go to lift it up to put on a dolly. No counting, you ready? yeah....the one guy jerks it up before the other guy had a good hold on his side. One side of the desk is eight inches off the floor of the truck, the other side one inch; the one inch side guy looses him grip, it drops down the inch and the leg snaps right then and there. The kid that looses his grip tells the other guy to hold on, and the guy sets his side down and that leg snaps as well. Several apologies and a phone call back to the boss and Im told not to worry they will take it back to fix it and i wont be charged, and they will deliver it for free. (EXCUSE ME?)The boss Jesse calls me later that day and tells me he is sorry and he will personally come on the next delivery to make sure everything goes well.No money was offered back to me for the inconvenience....i was thinking a cool hundred would have been a good gesture. BTW, i had given the guys the remaining $400 just before them attempting to get it off the truck. They had me sign the paperwork and give them payment before it was in my house. I know, i know....Im an idiot.Something else; it took 50 years for those legs to give out before getting them repaired by MODERN DANISH LA, And only took a single week and a one inch drop (at a slight angle) to have the legs give out again.Well,.....perhaps a couple weeks go by, i dont remember and another delivery is scheduled. This time Jesse is there to make sure everything goes according to plan....hes the half owner (said several times). They get the desk inside, it looks great and i can tell they are being extra gentle getting it into position, which gives me no confidence what so ever, i can tell you that. BUT HERES THE KICKER!!!I look inside the drawers, and my most favorite part of this piece is missing. Wheres the liner? i ask. An off lime green quilted liner that really took you back in time when you opened the drawers. Jesse said oh i remember seeing them, we had them set off to the side when repairing it. Ill call my guys.He gets off the phone with his guys and tells me they probably threw the quilted liners away.Come on people.I told him that was unacceptable. That was my property. That that was my favorite part of the whole desk...perhaps the reason i decided to get the restoration...so the outside could look as good as the inside!! Probably thrown away????? Can you please find out for sure? He said he would, and he would call me back.Jesse never called.

The desk was damaged during shipping, part of the leg was missing and parts of the desk had scratched and broken pieces..I looked around for a reputable MCM store who did fabrication and restoration work..Well, not only do they carry really cool items in their store and warehouse but their restoration team did an amazing job in a couple weeks time....My Pete Lovig Boomerang Desk looks amazing and Im very very happyIm looking to have them reupholster a desk chair, 6 dining room chairs and an ottoman too..Thank you Brandi and Anthony!I added pics of the Pete Lovig desk.. before and after pics...Cheers,Kimberly & Mike
