I have dealt with Sam Ash for many years and thanks to Jack Miller and the crew I just experienced the reason I keep going back to this store...I live in Wheelersburg, Ohio and its a good 2 1/2 drive for me. And its worth the trip every time...They are what I would call, a store that prides itself with the way they work with customers. I could add a few words to describe them but, Ill just say, Im 75 years old and am satisfied very much with their service.........Thank you, Jack and your co workers!..

Store itself is decent, good staff, etc but if youre looking to have any sort of work done on your instrument, look elsewhere.Had work done on a guitar for their tech to keep it for 2 months and when I finally had enough and decided to go pick it up, I found the fretwork was then beyond messed up. Frets past 12 so low it was unplayable. Bought another guitar of the same model as a result and had them swap out the parts/electronics into the new one and he still somehow managed to screw that up. Was able to fix most everything but after all the trouble I had already I shouldnt have had to. Having to pay someone else to finish correcting the wiring.No ill will towards most of the guys who work here, theyre great, but their tech is never touching another instrument of mine again.

Their luthier, Jesse is the best around. Has a great reputation for his work and expertise and has worked on my guitars for several years. The rest of Jakes team are great too! Highly recommend

There is a reason their rating is so good.:I bought a Yamaha A-series acoustic (absolutely love it) and a case. The case was a bit too tight and caused a finish crack on the guitar. They ended up ordering a new one from Yamaha to replace it. How awesome!I cant say enough about how great Sam Ash has been to my family and I.

This is the epitome of what a major music store should be like. I wandered through every room and had conversations with other musicians in all of them. Had a jam session in the acoustic room with a talented lady and then rocked out again in the hand percussion room so my buddy could find the perfect cajon. Theres Something for everyone here, thats for sure.

They were so helpful! I went to guitar center down the street for a loop pedal initialy and for which I was treated rudely. I went to Sam Ash and they immediately greeted me at the door. I told the lovely lady at the desk what I was looking for and she directed me to Jack who was tremendously helpful and informative and even helped me look up the specs for the item when he was unsure. I bought my loop pedal in 10 minutes, which is the time I waited until I was even tended to at Guitar Center. Sam Ash will always have my business from now on. Thank you!

This place is great! Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I took my Fender Strat in to get the strings replaced and have it properly set up, which Ive never done. It feels like a completely new guitar! Even as a beginner, its obvious to tell how much easier it is to play and the sound is so much better. Turnaround time was 24 hours! If youre just starting out like me, I would strongly suggest getting your guitar set up correctly at Sam Ash.

Aidan always does a great job of helping me and answering questions. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and low pressure. I only wish it were closer to my house, but its always worth the drive.

No one had the exact thing I was looking for in stock (we within 100 miles). They figured out what I needed and found a solution for half the price but told me about the 30 day money back and the 45 day exchange policies and explained if the pedal didnt do what I needed I could apply what I had spent to the original pedal I was looking for and they could even ship it to me.

Theyre great people who are very helpful with whatever you need. When I was looking at guitars Aidan was very informative and helped me understand. When I had trouble changing the strings on my acoustic the manager (Alan I think?) showed me a trick to make sure the pins stayed down. When I needed help setting up my pedals Mike was helpful in showing me the best order to put them in. I was kind of high maintenance for these guys but they were still great the whole time. I will go to them whenever I buy any music gear in the future.

I’m a new banjo player and stopped by this store to see some banjos. They had an awesome selection of new and used banjos from low end to high end. I had some questions regarding the sound quality of a few different t banjos they had in stock and the store manager actually came in and played on a few to help me decide on the sound that I liked. He played a lightly used Recording King RK 36 and the sound was amazing. Playing the instrument for me sold a banjo that day. Great price and great friendly staff. I recommend this store for anything you need!

I am pleased with the level of customer service that I received from salesperson David Weintraub! I connected with him after dialing in to the Sam Ash 800 number. He helped guide me to a comparable keyboard when I found out the Roland FP-10 that I wanted was discontinued. I received a competitive sale price for the Yamaha P125 and he suggested that I upgrade the sustain pedal. After ordering, the keyboard showed to be on back order, so I went to the local Sam Ash store. When I arrived there, I was greeted by salesperson Chad Robinson. He was very friendly and professional! He contacted David Weintraub and worked to have my sale processed at my local store so that I could buy the Yamaha P125 that was in stock! Chad suggested a warranty package and upgraded my headphones. Both David and Chad worked well together, always putting my interests first! The result was that my daughters now have a brand new Yamaha P125 to practice and play and it sounds just like an acoustic piano! Thank you, David, Chad and Sam Ash!

Im a newbie, but knew pretty much what I wanted/needed as far as some cables. I always second guess though. I was thinking, man, I bet if I ask theyll steer me to expensive unnecessary stuff that someone will tell me later was a waste. Not at ALL. These guys were so friendly, what they told me lined right up with what I have been researching, was exactly what I was thinking and wanting and answered my questions. They were also encouraging and motivating once they knew I was a guitar newbie. Second time in there in a week and Im be back for my needs. Great team of people, fun store experience.

Any time I need to buy something from an actual store I go to Sam Ash, but I never really felt the need to write a review until just recently.I bought a 5 string Music Man Stingray on manager markdown (shipment was damaged) and when I took it home and replaced the strings, the G tuner didnt tune any higher than a low E and absolutely destroyed the gear. When I took the bass back to Sam Ash, I was helped by Jack, who searched practically the entire store for a new tuner, which he couldnt find, then a gear which fortunately we found. All of that was to no avail as when we replaced the gear with the new one, the problem stayed and the new gear was damaged. After trying everything we could think of, they called their store in Tennessee and had them ship out another of the same bass for me to trade the broken one for. All for a bad tuner! Even still, the new one is just that - brand new - while the one I bought originally had scuffs on the finish from the bad shipment I mentioned prior.I have nothing negative to say about this place. Every employee I have ever talked to has absolutely gone above and beyond what I expected out of their customer service, and I will definitely continue shopping here.

I always have a good experience at Sam Ash. I bought a guitar over the weekend and left another one to get worked on. When I picked up my guitar and paid for the services a staff member walked me to my car, carrying my guitar for me because I am about to have hip surgery. The staff is professional and friendly. Thats why I keep coming back.

Employees were very helpful at my last visit to Sam Ash. Nick, the salesman in the percussion section helped me with my decision to to buy a electronic drum set which Im going to be in there today to buy.

They have a ton of stuff. Didnt really have any electric Guitars I was interested in though. BC Rich, Dean, Schecter, Esp-Ltd. I did get to try out the new Helix guitar pedal though. They were very nice about getting me a guitar and setting me up so I could try it. Very nice people. Its a cool place. You could easily spend hours looking around and checking everything out.

In Mid-January, I decided to cruise through the high end Acoustic Room at SAM ASH COLUMBUS. Although Id been looking for a Taylor or a Gibson Acoustic for years, something kept me from pulling the trigger. Like most of us making that kind of decision, I did a lot of reading and checked out a ton of guitars on line looking for the right deal on just the right guitar.On this particular day, I ran into Jesse. Hes the Sam Ash CBUS guitar tech and has been for years. Not only did he do an incredible job explaining the pros and cons of every guitar Id considered, he made me feel completely comfortable with multiple decisions. Especially the decision on where to purchase (Sam Ash). I selected a Taylor 814ce DLX and absolutely love it! Heres where it gets interesting though... Three weeks after I brought the guitar home, I realized that a combination of temperature and humidity change (winter) had changed the neck just enough to make me question if Id made the right choice. I called Jesse to ask what he thought. He told me to bring it right over and let him see it. Within minutes (while I waited) he adjusted the neck and reset the bridge. IT WAS A REALLY GOOD GUITAR THE DAY I BOUGHT IT BUT NOW ITS INCREDIBLE!At the end of the day, I thought Id take the time to let you all know that I couldnt be happier with my purchase! Not only do I now own the guitar of my dreams, the selection, service and attention to detail provided by the Sam Ash team has been exceptional (long after the day I made the purchase). I always shop at Sam Ash- After going back and forth from Guitar Center to Sam Ash over the years- I realized that Guitar Center is so sales driven its like a used car lot -when you walk in with a person walking up with sales in there eyes - If you know exactly what you are after with music equipment and the price is right at Guitar Center stop in and buy it there- but if you like time to look around in a nice environment with no one looking over your shoulder - no high pressure sales- Sam Ash is the better place for sure- Do the comparison walk in Guitar Center first - dont buy anything- then go up the road to Sam Ash and see what I am talking about- I have been to other Guitar Centers it definitely seems different in each one- In California it is much more laid back- completely different vibe of store and people I think it is all about the people in the location you are visiting- Columbus Sam Ash is a great place

Went in to buy another guitar. Had bought one earlier this week from them (both new guitars) traded some gear. Got super low balled on a guitar that had less than 1,000 produced. Even lower on a relatively rare Marshall amp. Still traded but felt kind of insulted considering both items were in Very Good condition and that was acknowledged and I was doing trade value to buy the second guitar. Could have given me at least an additional 100-150 on the items that I traded. Probably won’t be doing any trades with them again. Staff were friendly though.

Just made an order online and picked up in store. One of the items I ordered wasnt in stock at Columbus location, but the guy (I wish I caught his name so I could give him a shout out!) promptly called me to let me know, and even ordered it from another store and had it shipped to my house, which arrived 24hrs later - amazing! They have curbside pickup as well, so I didnt even have to leave my furbabies in the car to pick up my order. Friendly, helpful service, and great prices!

5 stars every time I go. Big chain store but the staff is still helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. Granted, that doesnt help with my GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) affliction, but its not their job to tell me no. Its to point me in the right direction. It never hurts that they always seem excited for me each time I buy a new guitar. Now, if only my girlfriend would feel the same way....

I was casually looking through the DVDs checking to see if they had a Nancy Wilson video my daughter wanted. Christina Pelletier asked if I needed help. She looked for the DVD and then checked the computer. She even called Hal Leonard to make sure it was in stock and then called me to let me know. Christina went above and beyond for a twenty dollar DVD. I bought my first guitar from Sam Ash in 1990. (a Les Paul standard I wish I still had) I’m a customer for life.

My only disappointment is that they didnt have a 1/4 size guitar in stock. However, Christina was helping us, and was more than willing to order one for us, and even have it delivered to our home, since we live a distance from the store. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Next time Im in the market for an instrument Ill be looking there first.

Putting it briefly, I was astounded with the level of customer service. The employees were proficient with the knowledge of their products, swift with the line traffic, which was located outside due to the Covid-19 pandemic and it’s cause for customer limitations within the Sam Ash store. Also, the multiple options that were given to me, as I was purchasing a Maschine MK3 for myself with my mothers credit card online, but for store pick up. The employees made it easy for me to do this, in the most guaranteeing way, eliminating any possible foreseen issues. Sam Ash never fails, but this is the best experience thus far!

I went in to look at saxophones and Christina helped me. She was very helpful and had me try a saxophone even though I didnt have my own mouth piece. She thoroughly cleaned one for me and let me go at it. I highly recommend Sam Ash as a store because I was at another location and had similar service. They have knowlagable people working in their departments which is awesome.
