All of the people that I worked with at Allied were wonderful. My quote was smooth, my move coordinator was responsive, and the person responsible for loading my belongings was very pleasant. However, I was very disappointed when I found out that even with an eight day delivery window, they were not going to deliver my belongings within the window promised. I do have the opportunity to submit additional expenses incurred in the days beyond the promised timeline, but that really doesn’t make up for the fact that I’ve been unable to settle into my new home for 10 days. I wish that there was more accountability to require delivery within the promised timeline.
Kevin, Patty, Jerry...each team member were great. Everything was on time and handled professionally. Placing some of our furniture where we wanted it called for ingenuity and patience; they were up to it. Happy to recommend Allied and Berger. Thanks.
There were 4 companies that We had give estimates, this was the only one who called to call and follow-up. The industry as a whole has a reputation for upping the price, and we had a few more boxes and household items than were included in the quote. I called in that information, and was told that unless it was a lot of items, the price would be these. The crew that did the packing, along with the driver, were efficient, friendly. Everything arrived right on schedule, unloaded quickly. There were a couple of things that were left on the truck, and this afternoon the truck pulled up and delivered those items. An overall good experience.
Of the reputable large scale moving companies, Allied offered the most affordable service for my cross-country move. I chose to pack my items myself. All of my items arrived within the quoted time frame window and I had zero damaged items. My moving coordinator responded in a timely manner to any questions I had. The only surprise additional fee/charge was for parking permits in the city I was moving to which should have been included in the initial estimate. I do wish that they’d update their inventory/cataloging process to a digital method that would allow me to view a digitized list of all of my items/boxes and have the ability to track them enroute. Instead this was done via a handwritten list. The local moving services used via Allied were Berger in Columbus, OH (arrived 6.5 hours later than advised day before) and Nor-Cal Moving Services in San Francisco, CA. Would certainly use Allied again for future moves.
Beware. we hired berger allied to pack and move us from westerville, ohio to georgia.while packing they stole several expensive items and i did not realize it until i unpacked a week later. What they dont tell you is that you must claim anything missing or damaged before they leave your home the day of the move which is impossible. during move in the driver/manager of your move is screaming at you to tell the 5-6 movers where every piece goes. It happens very fast and there is no way to know what is damaged or missing. They broke many items and damaged my hardwood floors. All claims were denied. also during the confusion one of the employees went to my 17 year old daughters bedroom and spoke to her inappropriately. And all the movers reeked of weed.
Prince, BJ, Scotty were awesome on my way out of town. Super professional, nice guys. Then Prince, Rod and Antonio on the other side were just as great, respectful, clean guys. Great teams to me and my things. Cant say enough good things about both groups! So glad I chose Allied!!
We hired Allied Van Lines to move us cross country. Because it was an expensive move, we tried to go with the cheaper option. Allied vans came in a little less than other companies so we went with them. They loaded all of our stuff into a truck, took it to a warehouse 30 min away, unloaded it, then a few days later put it on a semi truck with multiple customer loads and sent it across country. There is no inventory or chain of custody when they transfer your things. When they arrive, they tell you when the truck is being unloaded you need to check off the list of everything coming off the truck, what they dont say is that there are 4-5 people moving very quickly and you at the same time have to show them where things go in the house. It is almost impossible to check off every item as they are unloading. Long story short, Allied lost my entire golf set up, all of my clubs, shoes, balls, gloves, etc. It was very expensive. I did not realize this until a few weeks later though. When I called Allied they said, I had signed the papers when they left, so too bad. They basically said it was my fault that they lost my stuff. I tried taking a legal route but still they say too bad.My experience with Allied was not good. I regret hiring them.
Joey and his team were quick, efficient and friendly. I would use them again!
