Very nice and clean facility, filled with helpful and friendly staff! The wait was long, but well worth as we couldnt find the gun we wanted anywhere else--not even online! Although the lines were long due to the gun shortage, they kept people moving while at the same time giving people the time they needed and making sure everything was done properly.
I’ve bought several firearms from Vance over the years. The positive: Vance’s prices can’t be beat within the areas they serve. The negative: the customer service is less than stellar. At times they can spend up to 30 minutes talking to customers that aren’t buying firearms ; while the buying customers wait to purchase. Now should everyone be attended to, yes. They just need to find some type of balance between good customer service and Good Customer Service.Wanted to purchase two of the M&P 2.0’s with cts-1500, but after 45 minutes of waiting, I had to call it. I’ll try Shoot-Point in the AM.
I hear that Vances is a good gun store but for some reason today I got terrible customer service. I got overlooked and skipped twice. The lady at the counter told me to take a number, the next available person skipped me and went to someone else. It might be a good Store but today I got terrible service.
Dont ever stop here at all for any gun needs. Many other stores where they will help you. Theyre service is ridiculous with even more idiotic staff. Dont waste your time.
Really clean and nice staff with a really good selection.. But, get your ticket as fast as you can at the back of the store and make sure youve ate and not in a hurry, because youre going to wait, and wait, and did I mention wait... Yeah, takes forever, I like the store, but waiting an hour or more means less sales, was going to make a $1500 purchase today but I dont have that much time to wait. Other than the wait times its an excellent store with great staff. Just dont be in a hurry at all
A great staff excellent selection of equipment firearms, archery equipment, fishing equipment nice selection of warm clothing for men and women stylish sweaters and jackets for women. They have two class rooms they use for CCW training and firearms familiarization sometimes they have hunter Saftey classesThey have a very nice clean and well maintained indoor shooting range plus a small indoor archery range to test your new bow out. You can buy Black Rifle Coffee here outdoor boots and shoes, reloading supplies, dog training aides, gun safes and shooting supplies
So not going to lie to you I started off with a really bad review because I did get quite the run around. BUT with that said I changed my review because management heard about it and they were very apologetic and very helpful for me. I great appreciate how they helped me out. Thank you Rob and Laird, I greatly appreciate your help.
Enjoyed my first visit to Vance’s. I arrived at peak busyness so it took a little over an hour for me to get helped out, which was no biggie. Lloyd eventually assisted me with buying a sig p365. had a good time talkin with Lloyd about various topics while doin paperwork and waiting for my background check to clear. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. I’ll definitely be coming back.
Rated four stars because in the nearly forty years I have been a customer it has usually been a pretty good place to shop. That being said after today’s visit I will likely not return. I understand everyone has rules BUT the golden rule is universal. I understand having to take a number to be helped at the counter but shouldn’t have to do the same at the register especially when only one of the cashiers is helping a customer.Scott Bowman
In a world where KNOWLEDGEABLE AND FRIENDLY customer service is a lost art, I was pleasantly surprised with Adams service. Even though they were packed, I did not feel rushed to make a decision. This was an important purchase and I must admit, I tried to do my homework before getting there, there was still alot I didnt know. Luckily, Adam was patient and made sure all of my questions were answered before completing the purchase. I am happy to report that I am confidently locked and loaded thanks to Adam! Will definitely be back to see him again for my next purchase!
Best customer experience ever; they go out of their way to make sure that you leave the store happy.
Service was slow and they lowballed me on an offer. Better off selling elsewhere.
Very helpful clean store very knowledgeable workers working there they seem to love to help everybody things seem to be priced right
Have normally had good experiences there. Wasnt overly pleased last time when the gal working the register walked away for break without saying anything to the four or five customers waiting in line. All other experiences have been fine.
Very helpful staff! Helped out the newbies and experienced gun owners with excellent customer service.
This Vances on Cleveland Ave. Is not a big store yet its full of treasures and plenty of Ammo. I was surprised.....Yah, this was where I bought my first 380.....
Cant say enough good things about this place. Visiting from Canada and wanted to shoot some pistols, read some reviews and decided on Vance. Jack helped us out with suggestions on what would be a good choice for me and my wife, ran us through safety and use and we were up and running in no time. Fantastic customer service from everyone we dealt with, happy hour prices, and an amazing selection of rentals. Thanks Jack and crew.
I made a purchase from the Lebanon location and had it shipped to the Cleveland Ave location. It took almost three weeks to get it shipped less than 120mi. I would give Lebanon a rating of 3/5.That had absolutely NOTHING to do with Cleveland Ave. They were all class. From the young man (Giovanni I believe) who I had a great conversation with, including which upgraded trigger to purchase, and his input on setting up the rifle to my liking. I am 100% positive he is more qualified with a rifle than most of us will ever be ;-)Anyway- a very tall gentleman (I think either the GM or owner) heard of my bad experience with Lebanon, and took time to make sure I was well taken care of. As busy as sporting good stores are right now, that kind of customer service does not go unnoticed. Will be back!
The good thing about Vance Outdoors is their selection of firearms is rather large considering we’re in the midst of the pandemic. They also had plenty of 9mm ammo when I visited their store. My personal experience: Checking out was painfully slow. One cashier and despite only one person in front of me, it took over 10 minutes before I could be checked out. The cashier also was complaining about how stressed out she was.I was disappointed with how unfriendly and unhelpful the employee who helped me was. I know this doesn’t speak for all of Vance Outdoors employees as I saw many were engaged with their customers. The person who “helped” me didn’t attempt to see what type of shotgun I was looking for, didn’t give any recommendations. It was quite awkward trying to get a feel for the guns while he was silently staring at me. I don’t remember the employee’s name, just that he was a rather large man.
I cant speak highly enough of the staff and quality of the organization of Vances, as a whole. They did me a huge favor in processing an online order for pick-up when I was in a bind. I needed a part for the following day, and they went out of their way to make it happen.
If I could give zero stars, I would. Went to the Columbus store to buy a sig. Asked the guy selling us the sig about a shotgun in stock at the Cincy store and he said they were in the process of selling it. The next day I called the Cincy store and asked them about the shotgun and the person told me they had the gun. I asked him to put his hands on it. He said he did. That’s when I said I’ll take it and put a deposit down on it. I asked them to send it to the Columbus store and they said it would take 3 days. I got a call on the 4th day that it had arrived in the Columbus store. Went to the Columbus store on the 6th day and was told it had been sold. I drove over an hour to pick this up. I won’t be going back!!!!!!! Vance Outdoors, you did me wrong. They price gouge too. Stay away!
Been shopping there for 20 years best place I have been to
The service I received from Brandon at the Vance Outdoors on Cleveland Ave was amazing. I fully expected going to to the store that given the current social environment we are in to be rushed out the door, however this was not how I felt. Brandon was thorough, informative, and incredibly professional. I feel much better knowing I have someone at this location to speak with. I highly recommend for all gun owners, newer or experienced, to use this location and speak with Brandon primarily. Great job.
Called 3 times. Each time after I talked with someone I was put on hold for 5 minutes until the call automatically disconnected. Sad that I kept calling back to have the same thing happen over again. Amazing that I cant even speak with someone to spend $600.Revised review - 5 stars after exceptional follow-up:Ian the Store Manager got involved and went above and beyond to not only understand what I was looking to do but to ensure I was fully taken care of. Great teamwork orchestrated by the Vance Outdoors Team!Thank you.
Extreme price gouges and bad customer service besides the lady at the front desk.Trying to ask a question about a couple firearms 2 employees behind the counter gave me a dirty stare and continued talking. Shoot Point Blank is my new goto for firearms.
Two hour wait in line but not the stores fault, covid-BS. Excellent service, and a big special thank you to Manager Rob, and James. Being a first time hand gun owner/purchaser it can be a bit nerve wracking. Thank you for your patience and quality service. Will be back again.
Laird the Manager at the Cleveland ave location helped me with an issue I was having with a new rifle. You always wonder what the service will be like after the sale.... Wonder no more, Excellent! Thank you again for everything! I will be back!!
The cashier was very rude I asked a simple question and she was very quick with a rude response Ive been coming here since I could remember and have always had great experiences but the new workers are just terrible didnt think Id have to leave a bad review just to be heard hopefully the management takes control of their workers and Teaches them to respect the customers
Very busy but still got me in and out in a reasonable time frame.
Never do business with these people if you’re a bilingual person. I was explaining the types of guns they had to a friend of mine in our native language when one of the employees ( Trevor I think) approached us and instructed us to speak English. Like hell, do they even know 80% of their customers are bilingual individuals? Mind you, we were not in the processing of doing any applications, he just overheard us while he was helping a customer, speaking our native language. I will never take my money there and neither should any bilingual person cause you will have that harassment.
Great selection, clean, great experience.
Good people they’re all strapped and you should be too
Caint get into the store to purchase a hand gun or RIFELS THEY make you STAND OUTSIDE FOR 3 TO 5 HOURS.IT VERY REDICULIOUS AND THEN AFTER STANDING IN LINE OUTSIDE IF THEY CLOSE U STOOD OUT SIDE FOR NOTHING.SO BE PREPARED.AND PRAY ITS NOT TO COLD ITS A LONG WAIT.INFAKED WE ARE STILL WAITING TO GET IN.2 WEEKS LATER?
This place is very cool even just to walk around inside. Prices are expensive, but its high quality.
Been a customer for years cause the select is great and the people are also great
The customer service and commitment to excellence is what sets this store apart. I had a great experience on a very busy day. Lloyd and Chris especially made me feel comfortable about my purchase and even offered advice on how to grip the weapon and deal with recoil. I appreciate that care and consideration. First time buyer, but I will be back! Thank you! Hannah
They used to be a great store now they are a price gouging POS.
As always, very good experience at Vances today. Purchased firearm online and picked up this morning; my third gun I have purchased at this location, each time have been very pleased with quality and service. Have to give a 5 star rating in customer service to Jim, the sales person, totally polite and professional and made transaction so seamless and timely. Also, hats off to Von at check out, very professional and polite. Long story short, I left with a new firearm and met some great people. I have no doubt I will be back.
Today is Sunday, November 8th 2020. I have been calling for the past 40 mins and every time someone answers the phone, I keep getting transferred with no one at the store willing to help.Awful customer service and will be having no issue with purchasing elsewhere even at a higher price.Everyone at the store needs a coaching and to be trained on customer service and customer experience and expectations. Highly disappointed.. Also should I mention the AWFUL IRV system they are using that just hangs up on the customer. What a joke this place is.
Just drove 1 1/2 hours to get here. Hours online said theyre open till 8. They closed at 5. Thanks Vance! Appreciate it! Not a problem!
Great knowledgeable staff, a little overpriced but I think it’s particularly because of the times we live in.
Fantastic customer Service. Todd and Andrew went out of their way to help me find a handgun I have been having a hard time finding. This is definately the goto for anything related to self protection, hunting, and accessories. Thanks guys!
They have the ammo Im needing. 8 hours from me! And their website says no shipping guns, ammo at this time. A big drag....
I ordered online during the virus keeping most places shut down and i was able to get a purchase as a walk in just a day later with a appoinment. The staff was great and i got plenty. This is one of the best gun and ammo stores out there.
Transfers into this location are very slow. Confirmation of item arrived 4 days ago. No phone calls or emails on confirmation of transfer. I was unable to call into the location, no one picked up on any of their extensions. Would not recommend as an FFL. Was given the excuse of we dont go through our packages. Very displeased with how my first transfer went with this location.
Personally I think the online appointment idea is really pointless. They have so much room in the store yet they are making people take time slots.Meaning you can’t even browse the guns because it is taped off for appointments. Yes the really taped off the only part of the store with guns for appointments only.Needless to say I left, went to point blank, and left with my gun within 30 minutes.
Staff were very knowledgeable and they didnt rush me. I ended up buying two guns.
Very busy with hand gun sales. But once waited on salesman was extremely helpful.
Busy place. Their system crashed so that did go well with customers. Seem to have reasonable prices and a nice selection.
Always top shelf...cant figure why they wont hire me...!!! Been there enough...(and spent a lot of money 💰, cant even BUY a job 😒).
Horrible, horrible, horrible service. Tons of employees, most twiddling thumbs
Good selection and pricing but theyre will always be a ridiculously long wait at any vance store. Even if you just want a box of ammo you have to sit and wait for people in front of you to be background checked buying guns. Its worth it to pay a extra 3.00 a box for ammo elsewhere and be in and out in less then 10 minutes. Only worth it if your buying a gun, just Ammo look elsewhere.
Very highly recommend this store. Fantastic pricing and phenomenal customer service. Purchased my gun there today, got right in and was helped very quickly. My background check was completely promptly and I received my gun before I could walk around the entire store! Also needed help looking for a case that would fit my gun and was also provided excellent customer service in helping find one! I will be shopping here for my gun and hunting needs for the rest of my life. Very grateful that there are stores like this around. Couldnt have asked for a better overall experience. The store is loaded with quality products and very reasonable prices as well.
Purchased a new rifle from Alyssa even though i am an out-of-state resident. I was mistakenly charged Ohio sales tax, but was refunded the mistake. Overall everything went smoothly with the shipment to my local FFL and picked up the rifle 3 days later. Thanks Alyssa!
Shelves are bare and ammo is too expensive. I guess it is a result of supply and demand but I am not going to pay $35 for a box of 9mm.
This place is great they help to fix my shot gun I appreciate all team thanks lots ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
If youre in the neighborhood stop in. Knowledgeable friendly staff. A ton of stock.
Great place to get a gun. The people are very knowledgeable. I always enjoy a visit to Vance Outdoor.
Great store to buy firearms they always have great deals super friendly people. It has answered all the questions me and my son have had. Have always had a great experience here it will definitely be back.
Absolutely love this place. Took my son in for his first shotgun. In the information that he got was Second To None thanks Steve. We appreciate everything you guys do. Keep up the good work.
Good selection and plenty of employees, but the wait times have been unreasonably long both times Ive been here. No seating to handle the long wait times, no employees cross trained to assist when busy. The 25 employees stocking could have gotten paperwork ready, answered questions, etc. I actually left today due to the horrible customer service, or lack thereof.
The staff here is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They typically have great prices and guns and ammo. Ive purchased multiple firearms from this location and Ive always enjoyed the experience.
Drove down from Northern Ohio to purchase a rifle On Tuesday August 18th 2020. I had purchased handguns here in the past. Purchased Smith and Wesson MP Sport II. On Saturday August 22nd 2020 took the rifle to the range for sighting. Loaded 30 round magazine (that came with the rifle) and immediately the rifle wouldn’t cycle. Inserted magazine, placed the weapon in battery and fired one round. After weapon discharged I tried to fire a second round, but nothing happened and couldn’t pull trigger. Made the weapon safe and discovered the rifle had not ejected the first spent cartridge and the bolt had cycled and picked up the next round and attempted to seat it into battery where a spent round was still in place. Cleared the weapon and started over. Same result. Attempted this five times, but after the first round discharged the ejector failed. Made the weapon safe and tried to figure out if I had done anything wrong. I then Googled this problem (Smith and Wesson MP Sport II failing to eject cartridge) and discovered this was a KNOWN problem with this particular rifle. (Google and read the blogs going back quite a ways)Returned to Vances Sunday August 23rd 2020 with rifle and thought a had a solution to make everyone happy. I was wrong. I told the head manager working that I really didn’t want my money back, but just apply it to the Sig Sauer TREAD (that my son had bought the same day I purchased the S&W) The manager told me that he would have to call the Law Enforcement manager to see if he would authorize this solution. To my surprise he came back and told me my only option was to let them ship the rifle back to S&W for repairs and when it came back I would have to make the five hour round trip to pick it up. However the store manager was feeling magnanimous and told me he would ship it back to my PD at no charge. woo woo I was then asked if I had been advised of Vances return policy. I was (weapons could ONLY be turned un-fired within 24 HOURS of purchase. I could understand this rule, but didn’t think it apply to a weapon that had malfunctioned right out of the box. BUYER BEWARE Well they had me by the short hairs so not a lot I could do. They’re sending the weapon back to Smith and Wesson and when I get it back I will sell. But, I’ll have to be honest and tell the buyer he’s buying a ‘factory reconditioned rifle’. After being an officer for nearly thirty years I would never feel comfortable using this weapon. I do plan on contacting an attorney Monday morning, but do not feel these people can be beat on this. Vances Outdoor currently have three stores and looking to open a fourth soon. Because of the volume that they handle they seem to always have hard to find weapons before any other vendors. But read this again and ask yourself couldn’t you just wait until another store stocks the weapon you want. Oh, BTW, I had ordered another pistol and put down a deposit. Needless to say I canceled the order and got my deposit back.August 25th 2020 received a call from Vance Outdoors (name not important) and this incident has been resolved to both parties. This is a case where persons at the store not having the authority or knowledge to resolve issue.
Mega slow service but knowledgable employees. The only place I shop for straps.
Got mostly what I was looking for. The focus seems to be on gun sales and with the covid-19, rioting, protesting ect are apparently in the right bussiness as they had to turn off there apointment booking feature online. Allowed us to walk in but was to look and purchase only what was on floor. Guns and display cases items, behind counter items are all tied up for gun sales and is by apointment only! Will go back after the distancing and such guildlines ease up.
Update- DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIMEWebsite says walk-ins ok except for firearms. Thats a lie. Online inventory inaccurate. If you order online you must pay,, make a reservation to pick-up, then be told that was out of stock but you get a refund in 5 to 7 days. Why waste your time on anything that doesnt require a ffl transfer ( and then your probably going to get better service elsewhere too ) because theres no guarantee your going to get it AND your money is tied up for a week just to find out you have to go elsewhere. And guess what, the items I was after are still listed on the website as available as I sit here in the parking lot with my credit receipt which should be back in my account in a week. Sad. Very sad. Used to be so over the top. Even with the current situation this is just plain unacceptable. This is why Amazon is thriving and brick and mortar is dying. Cheaper than dirt at least is honest when saying if something is in stock and available when overcharging me. Think Im finally done. What a shame. This place used to be great. Unfortunately they cant keep up with technology. Went to buy 4 different kinds of ammo and three different magazines. NONE of the ammo and one of the magazines were in stock. However I was told order online and this wont happen - WRONG. Ive done that twice only to wait with an appointment 2 1/2 hours while walk-ins were filtered in ahead of me just to be told Id be issued a refund because, you guessed it, my items were out of stock. By the time someone figures out a IT professional needs to be hired it my be to late. I will suggest people buy ammo and supplies online, and firearms bought online and shipped to FFLs such as AimHi, LEPD, Buckeye Armory ( yes its small but good ) or about anyone else that cares about customer service. If you want to know why brick and mortar is losing to the internet, just visit this formerly fine store. Its not covid or protesting thats beating them. Its their rush to grab a buck before they even know what theyre doing. The salespeople are nonexistent, they can only hand you a pre-ordered stack of stuff. No time for anything else. Well at least I saved nearly $300 for now. And I will only have to open the door to get my ammo.
Great service and knowledgeable staff.
Great place, great selection, and great prices! Hoping they open a store up in Northwest Ohio!!!
Trying to figure out why I would be sold a VERY used clip at a new price for the 45 I bought. Having serious issues right out of the box with the 556 I purchased from here, but between the used mags and the overinflated sales receipt, I think Ill spend my money elsewhere.
The lack of salespeople is ridiculous. I knew what gun I wanted, all I needed was for a salesman to get it for me, run the background check, do the transfer, and take my money. When I got there, I took a number, 53. They were currently “serving” #21. I walked around the store shopping for 45 minutes and then went back to see how close my number was. They were on number 25. Four customers served in 45 minutes! It’s two days before Christmas. They’ve been in business for years. They should know how to schedule properly for busy times.Needless to say, I left the other items I had selected for purchase, and then I left the store. And yes, I was angry.
Great selection guns, ammo and accessories, service is fantastic!
Came in to purchase a pistol that was advertised in their ad. Unfortunately the gun I really wanted was out of stock in all three locations. Went with my second choice instead. My sales associate was Jason, and he was very professional.
If you prefer to build AR15s, you wont find many parts here, but what you will find here are some of the best deals on firearms in central Ohio. They are usually busy for a reason, and while the wait time might be a bit rough at times, the end result is worth it. They typically come in at 20-30% cheaper than places like Gander Mountain for the exact same firearms.
Vances is my go to place for firearm purchases. If you go on the weekends expect a decent length wait depending on how busy they are. When I have gone on weekdays it has been slower and taken considerably less time to get in and out. They have great sales going on every month and the staff will answer any questions you may have to the best of their ability. Recommended them to anyone interested in purchasing a firearm.
I always enjoy getting a chance to go down to Columbus and visiting Vance Outdoors. Always a clean place to go to and has an awesome selection of anything you would be looking for from Hunting to Shooting and anything in between. I signed up for their emails to get a heads up on the best deals in firearms.
Amazing store with very knowledgeable staff. Please come here before visiting their Alum Creek store. Those people are idiots.
Long lines. Gun counter by appt only. Staff have zero knowledge of guns. Accessories, or gun laws.
Was looking for a Sig Equinox and Vances had it in stock at a better price than a couple other places that said we can order you one. All staff appear to be knowable and friendly and not pushy. Great store.
Knowledgeable staff, awsome prices! Ill be back, much better experience than Alum Creek location
This location has terrible customer service, keep in mind this happened to me before on a completely different firearm and date about 10 months ago, I waited for 2 hours after calling first to check stock, was told they had 5 in, get their 15 minutes later, wait 2 hours quietly and they can’t find any of them and made it seem like it’s normal business to wait 2 hours to be told they don’t have it, “happens all the time”, said employee. No rain check offered, didn’t even offer to order it, and I told him I would pay for the whole thing in advance. So basically waited 2 hours to be told they don’t have the in stock item, in stock and that they can’t order it, when I know they can order it, done it before.
My favorite place to purchase guns and ammo, everyone is always helpful and knowledgeable.Staff has helped me in many questions I’ve had before and definitely can’t beat their prices, thanks everyone.
This is the go to store when it comes to purchasing firearms! Although the original store on Cleveland Ave has an amazing selection, this is far superior due to location. The addition of the shooting range in the store is perfect.
Possibly the worst gun shop you can go to in and anywhere near Columbus. Heres why; soon as you enter you have to run straight to the back and grab a number. Then wait an hour (the least), for your number to be called on before you get helped with anything in the store. They are also overpriced as hell and they do not match advertising lower prices from anywhere apparently, as I was instructed by the salesman.Want to shop at a place where they are unfriendly, unprofessional and will screw you over? Look no further, because HOLY GOD. Right when you walk in just look towards the register, green/blue short haired females with bones in there noses. Sweat shirts with kool aid stains and Vance outdoors on Cleveland Ave will not leave out one of the most important aspects of representing a company, RUDE.Even if you do not purchase a gun, they want your name and phone number. Wont bother even telling you why. They will respond with an attitude I can promise you that. Conclusion: If you are a logical thinker, a person that values their hard earned money, a person that enjoys a friendly atmosphere. You might want to consider anywhere else before coming here. All three of my experiences here have been nothing but sickening.
Employees were all very nice and helpful. Great job during very busy times.
Best prices on all your outdoor needs. Huge inventory. Great customer service
Placed a store pickup order and tried to pick it up 2 different times. Both times the store looked closed with people waiting outside even though it was during business hours. When I tried calling I got a message saying the phone system had been turned off to assist in store customers. Turning off the phone system for all your locations and not responding to email......Seems like a solid busniess plan.
The archery techs are awesome! Incredibly knowledgeable and helpful... they adjusted and repaired numerous parts on my bow, then only charged me $5! I cant say enough good about them...
Got my 9s, service was overall okay. Very slow. Older associates. ..
Fantastic firearm selection! Prices were all very reasonable and in most cases cheaper than other local gun shops. Recommended!
EXCELLENT SERVICE - IF YOU ARE SHOPPING FOR BLUE LABEL PRICING THEY ALWAYS HAVE THE BEST IN STOCK OPTIONS. BUSY PLACE AND NOT THE BEST LOCATION BUT PRICES CAN MAKE UP FOR IT
This was a really nice store very much akin to Field and Stream or Dicks. It was very clean and had a lot of camping and outdoors items to choose from. My only complaint is that it took 5 hours in total to purchase a gun but that wasnt the gun stores fault because there was a LOT of people there. Regardless of the wait time, the salesmen were extremely helpful and nice and answered every question calmly without making us feel rushed despite how busy they were. They are also dog-friendly and that made the trip even better since we had our dog with us and he got to meet a lot of people. They also had slightly better pricing than most other sporting goods stores I have been to.
I had a few issues with the range. Its was handled almost immediately. And was fixed the best it could be fixed.(long story). Anyway I had a problem and it was taken care of to the best of their ability. Great people. Come get your guns before the election. And ammo. Its going to be hard to find soon.
This Vance is smaller than the one on Alum Creek, and had some issues dealing with fairly heavy customer traffic, under COVID restrictions. It was a take a number and wait process, with waits generally exceeding 30 minutes. Staff seemed fatigued by it all.
Stopped in to pick up some reloading supplies. I usually order online from other stores online but I was hoping to pick up some new things to tinker with this weekend. I purchased a Hornady parts dryer that had been opened and resealed by the store. I really didn’t want to take the time to open it there and make sure everything was there and the time was intact but wanted to get home to start my weekend. The dryer is made of plastic and not only cracked in several spots but the motor housing wasn’t put together completely and the switch had come loose of the housing as well. I guess I have learned my lesson on two fronts, first check inside the box as this is not first time I have had this issue with Vance’s but secondly don’t buy Hornady as their pieces seem to be made so cheap! Vance’s seems to push Hornady so much but is clearly not the better product!
Best place and best deals on guns in central ohio
I went to buy a Hi-Point carbine, hoping theyd have one new or used. They had a number of them new, but they also had several used. I had 4 used ones to choose from, at a range of price points, features, and conditions. I was very happy about that. The background check was completed quickly. However, knocked off a point because the checkout system went down so it took a long time for me to get to pay.
Called them to check on availability of rifle before driving 2 hours to get there. They hung up on me before I could say a word. Rude! Wont be visiting their store for a long time to come...if ever.
Huge selection of firearms and accessories. Always busy but the staff is incredible and very knowledgeable. If they dont know the answer to your question they will find someone who does.
