I would not recommend going to this place alone. Walked in with a collection graded very fine to fine coins. Spent $1,200 only to offered $100. My collection was all bought at reputable collection shops. Very unhappy with this business.

I sold a lot of gold and silver at American Coin at one time for many years. I felt that Paul was very fair in what he paid me. He seems very knowledgeable about coins too.

Paul I believe was the guy I dealt with and he seems to be honest and have a genuine excitement about coins very helpful as well.. I think he got a little bit too much for a quarter I bought but supply and demand plus its the only uncirculated quarter I have its in great shape.

Owner was very helpful and friendly. He went out of his way to search for specific dates and mints of coin series and the pricing was very fair. Will definitely come back again. Thanks.

After dealing with 3 other local coin shops Ive found American not only to be fair and honest but a person who was willing to share his knowledge and educate a beginner even though I wasnt there to do any transactions. Only place Id trust to do me right if I decide to sell any of my collection.

I have been a customer of American Coin & Collectibles for about 2-3 years with buying and a little selling. Paul, the manager is very fair on both aspects I believe. I also came to his store with little knowledge of collecting other than a few childhood sets and he is pretty good at taking time explaining the history of the coin, some grading tips and I have never left his shop feeling like things were not fair. Would recommend to beginning and advanced collectors.

Hands down best place to go to about coins. Owner is very patient and was willing to answer my questions and help educate a beginning coin collector. Ive went to 4 in Columbus and GEMCO is nothing but a joke, ripped me off horribly when I first started and knew nothing, Grove City is also a joke that wont give u the time if day unless your there to buy/sell meaning if its not about him making $ on you he is extremely rude. At American Coin Ive been able to get answers to my questions and found the owner more than willing to share his knowledge and educate a beginner like myself. Funny I originally went to grove city coin after researching and finding out that owner was a former teacher at southwest schools and thought being a prior educator he be more willing to share his expertise but found the exact opposite. American Coin Im sure is in business to make a living but obviously has the love of coins like me and is an honest and fair person whos not trying to make money from peoples lack of knowledge. Its harder and harder in todays world to find business owners that are only trying to make an honest living instead of a killing on the ignorance or lack of knowledge if their patrons.

Called them to get a price on 90 percent U.S. Coin. He quoted me a price, I asked what amount he had I could go through he said said well we charge more if you want to pick through the silver and quoted me a price of a $1 more per face $1.I agreed to the price and said Id be in shortly. He said well we dont really want people picking through the coins we just pick out the coins for you at our discretion. First of all I want to pick the cons I buy not someone else. Secondly you just said I could do it if I pay the extra premium, which I agreed to !so you quoted me a price, then said never mind, who does something like that

Doesnt buy copper, 22 cents for wheat Pennys you can look up wheats they go more than .22 cents each. Personally not a real coin appraiser,I can walk in there with my 1943 steal wheat and hell charge me 10 each,or a 44 penny the holy grail hed be like 100.00
