Entrance to the museum is free but donations are accepted. This is one of my favorite places to visit when I come to Columbus. This museum is a must see! It is absolutely beautiful, educational and has something for all family members. They even have 3 different simulation rides. You can do all 3 for $20. A MUST visit!
Took a tour of The National Infantry Museum. We were blown away by the exhibits. They were very informative and educational. Facility itself, including grounds were pristine, top notch and well maintained. Banquet/ catering facility reasonably priced. Food was professionally prepared and served and delicious. Servers attire was nicely coordinated. Employees were super friendly, professional, and helpful. All visitors on premises seems to be enjoying themselves.
This is a great museum, whether or not if you are a military or history buff. It offers a thorough look through the history of our military, from the Revolutionary War to current Afghanistan. It includes hundreds of true artifacts of each time frame. The battle simulations are interactive and very cool! Its excellent for adults and children!
So proud of all the soldiers from the past, present, and the future. Here are 2 of our newest soldiers. Standing in front of the building that tells the tail of the whom they are and where they have come from they are our US Infantry... Stay safe soldiers and God protect and our great country....🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸
I attended a recital in one of the meeting rooms so I didnt get to explore and see much but this is such a beautiful building. The grounds are immaculate. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I loved the beautiful architecture and the wonderful displays. It appears they even have a theater there. I definitely intend to come back for a personal visit.
I save my 5 star ratings for those businesses and places that over-deliver, and this is one of them. Hands down one of the best museums our family has been to. Amazing exhibits, and very well thought out experience. Totally exceeded my expectations.
What a great place to visit! You can walk through quickly but will miss a lot, take a guided tour, or spend a few hours just taking in all the history the museum has to offer. Its worth visiting!
Excellent.Exceptional detail and quality.Cllean and well organized.A must see.
I love going to this museum all the history of the military in one Nicely built place
I do love all military Museums and this on ranks right up there with the best. But also like all museums there is so much to read it would take you a week to read it all. But displays and photos are all fantastic. They were open 9 to 3 and we walked in at 930 and finished the last section right at 3. It was great day!
This place is like Coming HomeGood for the soul .Highly recommend
The building itself is very nice. They had the inside decorated very well. My cousins Sorority hosted a Masquerade Ball so you already know it was grown and classy. The food wasnt too bad! They served mixed green salad, mashed potatoes, green beans, broccoli casserole, baked chicken breast with rolls. For dessert they had peach cobbler which I really dont care for. All in all it was a great night with my family!
Excellent place for knowledge about all the wars U S has been involved in...
One of the best museums Ive ever been to. If you are a military history buff this place is a must-see. Plan on at least 3hours there is so much to see.
Excellent displays that portrays our nations heroes! A must see for all ages. No fee, accepts donations.
I learned a lot at this museum. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
Fantastic. The room that is a tribute to 9/11 was a real tear jerker. Also take the time to do the simulation they have. We did the helicopter one and it seemed so realistic.
Great place for learning about the history of the US Infantry.
Enjoyable and educational. Learned alot. Exhibits are extremely well done and the memorials are breathtaking.
Needs more work on exhibits. Does not capture the full breadth of US Army life. NOTE: This review should have been for the US ARMY MUSEUM (at Fort Belvoir, VA). Not sure why Google stick it under NIM. The NIM is universe better than Army Museum!!!
Great place. They only ask for a $5 donation. Saw my old buddys name on the wall.
Always look forward to visiting The National Infantry Museum. Its free, but there is a suggested donation of $5 recommended, which is well worth it. We learn so much each time we go. Impossible to see all exhibits in one day. Gift shop is great too, reasonable prices. Several memorial exhibits outside as well such as the Vietnam Wall to see. After visiting the museum you will have a greater appreciation for our service men & women. Heroes all. Highly recommend! Handicap accessible.
This is a must see! They have wonderful exhibits put together with lots of history! There is a movie theater, gift shop, virtual reality games and great memorabilia. I definitely recommend your family & friends to stop in and check this place out! Admission is free, but please make a donation to this beautiful museum!! 😊🇺🇸
We went with our two toddlers, and it was a very amazing experience. We were there for 3 hours and still did not see everything so we will be back soon to finish exploring!
Amazing place my Family and I visited after watching my Son graduate Army Basic Training. Lots to learn, displays are fantastic and inspire a sense of awe and patriotism. A must see for every American!
Went through after my sons graduation from bootcamp!!
HIGHLY recommend a visit. With information on major battles and missions of the infantry soldier from Yorktown through the War on Terror, this museum inspires and affirms patriotism. Went twice! Veterans were at location both days and graciously shared their stories and personalized the experience. Restaurant on site had great burgers too!
So beautiful history
Great museum. As an old tanker I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the Infantry museum. Awesome interpretation of our military history.
Absolutely amazing museum. Alot of great information
It has been 30 years since I graduated OSUT (basic & AIT) at Ft Benning. This was my first visit back since then and my first visit to the National Infantry Museum. It was amazing to see the detailed displays.
A very amazing place. I saw a lot of amazing things
This museum is a must see! The lady was not wrong, you could truly spend all day here and not see everything this museum has to offer. So glad we were able to spend some time here with our solider during family day. We look forward to going back next year and visiting the other exhibits.
An incredible experience. A great history lesson.
Great place to visit as a family. Its free and will give you a great history lesson. The museum is top notch, brand new. Very welcoming, and go at your own pace. Small gift shop at the end for momento. We took some pictures in front of displays and it almost looks like you are there. Thanks
Absolutely awesome. A real walk through history. A lot to see... and its free. There is a suggested donation box and I didnt mind giving 5 bucks. A must see!!!
Very nice. Very well done. One of the best military museum. I recommend that everyone go.
Amazing place! A must see.
The appreciation that you feel towards the men and the women who sacrifice their lives for our freedom is unmeasurable when you walk into this place, its truly a great place to visit if you like going to museums. Its clean and the staff are really nice, there is Small theater inside that shows films related to the theme of the museum. You simply have to donate $5 or more at the entrance if you would like to contribute to the museum.
FANTASTIC place to visit! Outstanding displays of Infantry history throughout our countrys history. I HIGHLY recommend a trip there if in the area, bit be sure to allow PLENTY of time, especially of youre a service member or with someone who is/was.
This place is a MUST! If you are ever near Columbus Georgia you have to go and experience the rich history, exhibits and presentations. It will help you to appreciate all of the men and women who serve in our armed services specifically the Army. Theres a suggested $5 donation to get in. The facility is wheelchair accessible. The grounds are beautiful with monuments everywhere and fully accessible to all.
Great museum. Learned a lot and got to take in the history of Infantry. Must go if you are able too.
Perfect for kids and adults, the workers are super nice and they take good care of the museum. You may need more than one day to see everything on it, if you really want to read and get on details, if not you can perfectly see it in one day. They won’t let you get bag packs in so be aware of that, they also offered wheelchairs and strollers if you meet it and lockers to leave your bid bad in.We visit it every month and we’ll definitely keep visiting
What a pleasant surprise! This is an incredibly good Museum and I am amazed at after all the times that I had been to Columbus I had never heard of it. If you are in the area I highly recommend making a trip here, you will be glad that you did.The museum depicts all of the wars and major conflicts Through the eyes of the Infantry. They do an excellent job showing history this way. All of the displays are top quality and there are lots of really cool artifacts to look at. The Museum is very big. You could easily spend a few hours here and probably not even see it all.If you are going to be in the Columbus area I highly recommend making a visit to this wonderful Museum.
Place was awesome and very informative. The film, displays was really nice. I very much enjoy the museum. My son took me here and spent time during family day. I am a proud father and I thank him and all military for serving our country. USA
This has to be one of the best stocked museums Ive ever been in. If you are in Columbus, GA and need something to do, you should go here! If one was so history inclined, they could literally spend many hours here. The outside of the museum is immaculate and just as interesting. Plus, its FREE!! This is a no brainer!
Great place with true dedication to the US Army and its roles throughout history.Go Army beat Navy!
One of the best museum I have ever visited. Great piece of history!
Simply outstanding! Well worth the trip. Persian Gulf exhibit brought back memories.
Attended Premiere of Rock A Bye Movie By Frankie Reaves and Marty Davis. Great show Great Theatre.
Informative place to learn about all the wars. I would have enjoyed an audio tour so that I could move through without so much heavy reading. The portrait gallery was a nice touch as was the room giving attention to exemplary service people.
Amazing & Awesome. My 1st time visit, and I was amazed by what I saw. While my visit to Georgia I had to go twice.
Such a great place to learn about the army. Love the rich history on the infantry. So much to learn. Wish we had more time there as they were having a special event and closed 2 hrs early so we got rushed thru this experience. Will definitely be going back
Went with my brother while on family weekend because he is in bootcamp. We got in free with him and it was amazing. The different sections and eras they had were beautiful. The history that housed at this place was breath taking. The restaurant was closed but not a big deal. Would reccomend if you are in the area.
We visited the National Infantry Museum the day before its ten year anniversary. Several special celebrations were held in honor of the 10 year anniversary. The projected time to tour the museum is eight hours. Time hastened by during our tour. I suspect I could easily spend a couple of days in the museum. Our guide, Butch for the WWII Compound was fantastic. Butchs experience and love of our Army added much to the tour. The museum has much to help us understand our history and current events. Certain items bring forth emotions and that is good as we should completely appreciate the efforts and sacrifices of our USA Infantry. The display of Soldiers that recieved the Medal of Honor is staggering. The traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall is displayed outside.I cannot adequately review all the exhibits inside the museum. Whether you have 30 minutes or two days the visit is well worth your time.Yes, I highly recommend visiting The National Infantry Museum. I anxiously look forward to our next visit.
Awesome history that is presented in a personal way. Lots of personal soldier items and stories. Spent about 4 hours over two days.
Extremely interesting and excellently displayed. Covers Americas infantry history from the very beginning to modern time. I found it fascinating with lots of sound, motion, and information. I look forward to a return visit in order to more fully study the exhibits.
Excellent historical insight to the role of the infantry over the years.
Such a beautiful place to visit. Lots to see and even a movie theater to show a couple of older war movies and informative movies. We came to Fort Benning to see our two boys graduations so we went here and we will be returning to visit the museum again.
This place is truly amazing. Great place to learn some war history and enjoy some patriotism. I highly recommend a visit!
Very sad as we were driving from Memphis to Tampa today and went out of our way to stop here unfortunately it’s closed. Will definitely try to get here again but the ground to walk around was beautiful.
Omg this place is awesome and huge. So much to see. If your on a budget this is a place to go. All they ask for is a donation. Definitely a must see for the family
Very cool museum. Went on 4th of July and they had a lot of extra stuff. Inflatables, food trucks, did a parachute demonstration. Was a lot of fun.
Simply humbled. Every student in America should come and witness our history.
My son and I enjoyed this place so much. There was so much to see inside and outside. Im returning to Georgia in a few weeks and defiantly going back.
The exhibits are truly impressive. Awesome way for kids and adults alike to learn about military history.
Extremely well detailed and informative museum. Well worth the trip.
Well put together museum with a great history lessons
I loved the NIM, I just visited today as it was open to us trainees only.I will be marching on the field for my graduation in a few days. I am Honored and grateful for this. Ran by ex military personnel; great and sincere people. The museum has a great layout and is chocked full of the Infantrymans history, and some armored history as well. I 100% recommend with high praise.
What a beautiful place. We enjoyed our personal tour from our step son, and there was so much to see. Amazing to see the timelines.
Had a wonderful time visiting the National Infantry Museum during my sons graduation at Ft. Benning. The museum is huge and I liked how different segments of military history was broken down into different rooms, so you can take in bits at a time and really reflect on the different displays.
Such a wonderful museum! They even had strollers we rented for free to contain the kids after they got tired. It was extremely well organized and even after 2 hours we still didnt even cover 1/3 of the museum. The staff was very friendly as well.
Fantastic Museum if ever in Columbus, GA area it’s a must visit. This has to be one of the best Museums I have ever seen.
Awesome museum! Best I have been to in a long time! Well worth your time.
We received a special tour by the volunteer guide CPT. Smith (RET.) Toured the WW2 Command center of General Patton and much more. Graduation took place here too. Everything was perfect and exceptional.
Keeping it real....i was thoroughly disappointed. This museum doesnt adequately address military history...yes it has a lot of writing...etc but there are some major important historical facts that are missing. I was so frustrated until i stopped taking pictures. I should have taken a picture of the Ranger wall...the museum missed an important, significant part of history.
Love the setup and presentation of the history of infantry. But they didnt show much of the representation of black and minority soldiers.
Get there early and be prepared to be there a while. LOTS to see and do. Also, plan to have lunch in The Fife and Drum Restaurant. This place is a great reflection of our infantry history. You might even get to see the name of the Three Star that runs your sons school on the wall.
Simply amazing! I wish we had had more than an afternoon to spend exploring and paying homage here. So much to see and take in!!
A great museum to see the history of the infantry of the us army. Lots to see, there is also a giant screen movie theater.
It was so beautiful!!!!! The grounds were kept really nice and building itself was beautiful! Then the inside was so nice! My son who os 5 years old loved it, my daughter who is 2 was kinda scary at 1st because of the sound effects! But after a while she was okay. Would love to go back!!
Amazing museum and completely free. Plan at least four hours. There is an Imax theater inside too (this costs money) as well as dining options (which also cost money). Bring the whole family and learn about the heritage of the U.S. Infantry.
This is a great place to visit, whether you’ve had family serve or not! Lots of displays to see and they have some areas set up like you’re walking through a war zone. Pretty neat! Our boys loved it! It is free admission, they do ask you do a small donation when entering to keep it running.
A great place to visit. Has a lot of history and very detailed exhibits. Was there for my sons Army graduation.
