I had the endless coffee, avocado breakfast burrito, season potatoes, and a blood orange Bellini. It was all very good. The season potatoes were well seasoned and had a lovely crunch. The burrito was filling and the Bellini and coffee tasteful. Definitely a great way to start the day.I did have to make a reservation a day before due to how busy the place was. I dont know it it was because it was a holiday weekend or what. However, when my party and I arrived we were quickly seated and the rest of the stay was a great experience.
Every time I passed Skillet it was packed so one Saturday morning I came to give it a try. My breakfast chicken burrito was delicious, lots of egg scrambles and tender chicken meat. On the other hand, service was a little bit slow, probably because it was early morning and they were not running at full service capacity, although by 8am when I finished, the outdoor deck seatings were all filled.
Cute little restaurant which is now by one of my favorite cookie places (lowrider cookies). Chicken and waffles are definitely a favorite dish of mines. The chicken was cooked perfectly, however the waffle had a weird chalky consistency. I wasn’t too thrilled with the waffle. The service was great so I’ll take that over the meal
This place rocks! Get the grilled cheese with bacon jam and fried chicken + tomato bisque soup. The soup is key because how can you eat grilled cheese without tomato soup? Everyone at our table tried it and agreed it’s the best thing out of the dishes we ordered. But everything on the menu is incredibly yummy: the Chub, fried chicken breakfast burrito, chicken & waffles (a classic). We enjoyed everything from the food to the service. Frequent check-ins and our coffee/waters were always full. Very COVID safe. Rezos recommended. Street parking outside.
First time coming here after much buzz. My party ordered hot water since we were sitting outdoors. Mug arrived with lipstick on the rim. Quickly we were provided a new one but poor first impression on cleanliness.I ordered the chub with chicken and my egg fried hard. The yolk was still runny. Chicken was not seasoned at all. Basic salt and pepper could have helped this out! The breakfast potatoes were also flavorless and tasted as they were fried too long in the grease. No salt on them either so I had to just dunk each one in ketchup.I tried it once but the only thing decent was the server, therefore, I will not return.
Dined here for brunch this lovely Wednesday. Heard the chicken and waffles were good so had to try them out. Let me just say these were INCREDIBLE. I added over easy eggs and it was well worth it. We also got a side of the potatoes with their seasoning and they were some of the best potatoes I’ve ever had. The chia tea latte is also incredibly good. It’s been hard to find some out of this world breakfast in the city and skillet has DONE IT. Can’t wait to come back and try the other chicken dishes.
Seattle- Listen food is my comfort! Had the chicken and Mac n cheese BOMB DIGGITY! Very upscale restaurant but affordable prices. I think before covid you needed a reservation but now it seems to be easy to get in. Also the vibe is loving and feel good
Ate here from out of town for breakfast and it was so good! Our server was quick and kind and the coffee was quality. We got the breakfast burrito and eggs and toast and everything tasted so authentic and fresh!!!! We loved the coffee mugs and the homemade jelly!
Found this lil gem and absolutely loved everything about it. There was a line for those who were digging with someone else, however I was able to slip into the last open spot at the bar since I was alone. The food was amazing and had decent portions. The price was really fair as well.
So good. Outside seating (w/patio heater) on a beautiful Fall Saturday in Seattle. Excellent service, clean, delicious food @ a very reasonable price! Thank you Skillet!
Cute little place with covered outdoor seating. They were able to seat us a little early, and our server was wonderful. My partner and I both enjoyed our burgers, and our slightly picky child enjoyed their kids menu mac and cheese. I also highly recommend their flight that comes with their cold brew, a bloody mary, and a mimosa. I definitely wasnt expecting the drinks to be so large, so I was happy.
Amazing breakfast and best chicken waffles Ive had for a long time.
Super busy on a Monday early afternoon but we were seated at the bar without a reservation almost immediately. Had the pitcher of mimosas, griddle cakes, the chub and the avocado burrito. Everything was really delicious. Great chive in the restaurant and high quality food.
I had an absolutely wonderful morning at Skillet Capitol Hill. It was calm and quiet when I stepped in from the raid outside. The service was incredibly friendly. I havent felt so well cared-for at a dining table since visiting family. They let me finish off my travel mug of coffee from home during my meal, which was the most delicious, filling, fantasy of a plate I could have ever hoped to dream of. I had the chicken and waffled, add eggs. The cornbread waffle was crisp and browned on the outside, packed with just the right amount of sweetness. The waffle soaked up every bit of butter and syrup I offered it too! The dark meat chicken was tender and juicy, covered in the most gratuitous amount of delightfully savory breading. My eggs were cooked to perfection - solid whites, with a hint of seasoning, and deep yellow-orange yolks that slowly oozed out on to the plate. I came in starving and I wasnt able to finish my full meal. After eating, I wanted to relax and enjoy my last few sips while I cruised my phone, and they didnt mind at all. In fact, over the course of my meal, I observed the staff interacting with each other in the most caring and kind ways. It was a genuinely happy environment, and it made me feel happy and safe to be here. I will come back every chance I get.
Great food, good service, huge portions! I had the waffle, chicken, and two Sunnyside up eggs!
Loved the food here! Ordered the Little Rob and a mimosa (pictured) and it was delicious. Friends got the caramelized grapefruit and the griddle cakes with mango topping (also pictured) and loved them. Overall great service and excellent food. Frequently see people waiting outside during peak brunch hours on weekends, so would suggest making a reservation. Highly recommend this restaurant!
One of the few restaurants open at 6:30am, we were hoping for a good simple breakfast at Skillet. The poached eggs were good, but the bacon was crispy-dry and the toast and potatoes werent appetizing. One of us had donut holes which looked good but were heavy with grease. Overall not great, and also not clean. Props for being open early though.
I had the Grilled Cheese..... Sounds so simple but this was the most amazing Grilled Cheese Ive had in my lifetime. I also had the Tomato Soup. The soup was thick rich and full of flavor. Parking was a bit tricky but well worth the half block walk. Cheers mates !
Delicious food and wonderful welcoming staff. They do put a time limit on your stay which isnt unreasonable in my opinion. Offering comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant is cosy and provides a relaxed atmosphere with some great throwback music. Staff was on top of anything we needed and everything was cooked to perfection. :)
Wonderful food. Great service.
Great food. Have been at lunch and dinner in the past few weeks and its been amazing both times. Just make sure to make a reservation!!!Chicken and waffles was my favorite dish here. The waffle was a moist cornbread waffle which complemented the fried chicken well and went along nicely with the house-made syrup. The Nashville Hot chicken sandwich is not messin around! Be prepared for some heat on that one!
Delicious breakfast !! Great portions and great service! I would definitely recommend or come back if I’m ever traveling in Seattle again
Food was great will come back
I ordered the Grilled cheese with the fried chicken thigh added and it was delicious. The staff were amazing, super kind and helpful. 100 percent will be stopping in again, many options to still try
Always love coming to skillet for brunch. Staff is friendly and attentive.
The menu is digital, but wifi was out of order 😳We had to wait around half an hour for breakfast and the food tasted literally like cardboard 🥴 sorry guys, one star! just our waitress was amazing! tip just for you!
This is the best way to start your day, but you better be very hungry. The food is so good here and the portions are very generous. I really loved the Serious Toast, which is thick cut brioche french toast topped with bacon. I could barely finish half of it, but I took the rest To Go and finished it later in the day. No way could I let this wonderful creation go to waste. And if you only get to have one breakfast in Seattle, you should plan to have it here.
Great spot for brunch! The foods great and filling, and the mimosas are served in large jars and are strong. We got the breakfast wrap, donuts, side of bacon, and breakfast chub. Everything was delicious (heavy, but delicious). The donuts were especially good and the potatoes stood out with tasty seasoning. It’s reasonably priced too. Only came to $50 for a brunch feast for 2. Service was also superb. Highly recommend.
First time in Seattle and this was our first spot and I can say everything was delicious we had chicken and waffles with the chubb which was really good enjoyed it with the pitcher of mimosa’s! Staff was great and polite!
I didnt go there I went to see a friend her apartment is next to it, but i seen skillet & looked in & rated it 1 Star only because it looked very nice & well established from the outside 😊
Great place to eat. Food was very good and the service was wonderful. We will visit there again the next time we are in Seattle.
The fire was delicious and the portion size was perfect. The environment was clean and the staff were pleasant. I would like to eat there again.
Very good food! Service was a tad snobby. Would definitely go back for the food though!
Make a reservation! Chicken and waffles are superb. Always good
Great place Expansive menu, Gr8 coffee & service & food & drinks.Great biscuits & gravy, potatoes, chicken & waffles, bacon & eggs.Delish comfort food, fun people-watching, upbeat staff.
A good brunch menu with some really nice veggie options. They are famous for their fried chicken I wouldn’t say its the best i had but its good. The vegetarian burger was really nice and I loved it. The tomato basil soup was delicious. This place takes reservations so plan ahead otherwise there is a long wait.
I stumbled across this place desperate for a breakfast stop while in town and boy am I glad! We got a spot right at the bar and left so full and happy. We enjoyed the little peak into the kitchen and watching the magic happen. 10/10 would recommend and I can’t wait to go back and try more of that menu!
This place is highly overrated. If you enjoy soggy waffles, scrambled eggs harder than concrete, and watered down drinks, Skillet is the place for you! This isn’t to mention the pushy service and constant up selling. No, Constance, I don’t want to add anything to my breakfast no matter how many times you ask me. This place represents the soullessness that has consumed Seattle. If you enjoy overpriced brunch (understanding that brunch is already overpriced) and terrible service, Skillet is the place for you, a tourist.
Delicious food, really sweet, kind service, and inventive alcoholic drinks
Great service. Chicken & waffles were cooked perfectly with a hint of cinnamon in the syrup. The fish tacos were seasoned just right.
If you are going to have a very limited menu, then you should do those few items very well. Not the case here.
Skillet has typical brunch food, and if you have a reservation you get seated very quickly. I came here specifically for the cinnamon roll which was OUT OF THIS WORLD, but our main dishes were average. They do have an amazing drink deal for $16. You get 3 brunch cocktails which were great.Come for the cinnamon roll and stay for the booze.
We heard great things so were super exited to go! The food was awesome. The down side is they are still like 9 months behind on the Covid protocols. They all wear gloves the whole time and that just spreads germs the same if not worse than just having your hands. Just wash or sanitize and that is fine. We had to put on our mask every time the waiter came to talk to us! Every time!!! The same girl that told us the rules and was enforcing them didn’t care ten feet away at another table because she knew the people so that kind of made us feel like they were treating us different and like we were covered in germs! We are fully vaccinated and would have been happy to share that if asked. Not sure they have watched the news lately but the president of the United States and the cdc and the Washington state governor has lifted the mask mandate for vaccinated people. I don’t mind wearing one to walk in and sit down but putting it back on ten times during our breakfast was a little much! Again the food and people were nice they just need to change the policy’s to today’s standards so we could enjoy the experience more!
The restaurant smelled really good but food was a big meh. The burger entree was like 18 dollars and the patty isn’t even seasoned. I ordered medium rare and they gave me well done patty, felt like chewing leather. If you want Instagram photo, go ahead and try.
Straight off of the plane, we came here for breakfast to try and adjust to the time (lunch time at home). Its a little out of the way, but in a great location to walk around and explore!Skillet has that classic diner feel, open kitchen, but comfy enough to talk and enjoy a meal!Im going to start with the morning taters (home fries) were my absolute favorite! Perfectly seasoned and cooked just right! The balance of crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside! I had the breakfast burrito; fried chicken, scrambled eggs, cheese, and I added avacado. While everything was pretty tasty, I found myself reaching for the salt and tapatio hot sauce. The chicken needed a little love, but overall a great meal! The coffee was smooth and just what I needed to keep going for the morning! All in all, great experience and tasted good. Get here early though, it definitely started to get busy (inside and outside seating) around 10:30/11:00 a.m.
Took the family to Skillet on a busy Saturday morning. Great, fast service, really tasty chicken and waffles, decent prices for Cap Hill.
Food is good. Of course expensive. And I recently went to eat inside and they had all the doors and windows open and i was freezing 🥶 I couldn’t even feel my fingers and I’m normally a person who is hot ALL the time. But it was so uncomfortable to even try to sit there and eat. I felt like I was sitting outside. And when I asked if we could close everything his response was we have to keep it open for air flow. I’ve gone to this place many times and this was the only time I’ve ever seen every door and window open. Wasn’t the best experience. No one wants to freeze while they are eating. If I wanted to freeze I would have asked for the table outside.
Truly one of the best breakfasts’ I have ever had in my life. My husband feels the same way. Excellent service as well. Highlight of our day!
Skillet is a fun, hipster breakfast/brunch restaurant with delicious farm to table options. Portions are big so expect to take home some leftovers. Our server was fun and friendly. Big windows offer in a good view of the Capitol Hill neighborhood. I brought my parents here for breakfast and they were impressed! Cant wait to go back again.
This place is great!!!! The management Nicole and the waiter Mathew were so attentive to all of our needs. Lobster.cakes are to die for. All of the food is super great
Great service, strong drinks, and delicious breakfast sandwiches. I had The Chub and highly recommend it.
Great service, yummy food, I wish the chicken sammy was a bit thicker with chicken breast but it was super tasty. Thanks guys!
Interesting menu, great service experience. Hard to get a seat so go early if youre hungry
The food was great I had chicken and waffles and eggs $13 service was great I really like the place I would definitely go back again
There are a lot of good options and you wont be disappointed with your pick, but without a doubt, the Chub add Fried Chicken is absolutely delicious and the best thing ever. I have dreams about it. The Fried chicken is fried perfectly and the combination of the egg, bacon, cheese, and brioche bun is so good. Yummmm
The chicken and waffles were very good.
I am a HUGE fan of Bloody Mary’s. I read online the description of the Bacon Jam Bloody. I could not even drink it! I was expecting a slightly smoked with some sweetness flavor but the ONLY thing I tasted was horseradish! NO bacon flavor, no jam flavor and I could not even taste any bloody mix. When I told the waiter how bad it was, his solution was to bring me tomato juice to “help” tone down the horseradish taste! Never asked if I wanted to try another drink and did not remove it from our bill! Nashville Hot sandwich, another disappointment! There homemade sauce tasted like Tabasco sauce. Major fail on both.
Oh. My.God. !!! 😄Without looking at the Menu I asked for French Toast (French Toast is what I was craving and I had previous intel that they make their French Toast with Brioche Bread, which I love), scrambled Eggs and some Potatoes, expecting a small Breakfast, this can feed an Army of One ! This is gynormous ! Ill have eaten exactly half, other half is for Dinner now.Everything is cooked just fantastic, on point. Really enjoyed the food, ambiance, the gracious, friendly, on point service and it is all very reasonably priced. And any Diner that has Dance/Vocal Trance Music as background Music, is definitely my kinda place!Food : AService : AAmbiance : ADecor : A
Skillet is one of the best food joints on cap hill. With a consolidated menu, you’ll actually be tempted to order one of everything.I never got that feeling at restaurants where you’re handed a textbook, but it’s not really a textbook, it’s their menu.Every visit to Skillet, I tried something new. What a fantastic place.Oh, and they’ll give you chocolate and peanut butter for your French toast if you ask them. Hook it uuuuppp.
